For those of you from out of town, this place is a quick drive from the hospital. Delicious shakes and breakfast all day. I had a mushroom Swiss burger with a side of breaded mushrooms. They were not frozen, they were fresh. It was a nice surprise. The burger was cooked perfect and the bun fresh. This Place looks like a hole in the wall, but it is very clean and kitschy inside. The waitress was fantastic. Very varied menu with set specials every night. Monday night was New England boiled dinner, which I haven't had for years! There aren't many choices for food in Sanford, this place is unassuming with homey style food.

$25 for two breakfasts, and no drinks - to go. Portion was small, which is not a big deal if the food were great, but it's not. I had steak and eggs. Asked for medium, got well done. The other breakfast was an Eggs Benedict with overcooked eggs. 5-10 mins they said when I ordered over the phone, but it ended up being more like 17 mins. and this was a Friday morning not a weekend pick up. It's a local typical diner, but with that you expect sub par food that's fast, or good food that's slow, but cheap, any combination with one positive works, but this place seemed to fail at all of it.

Horrible food. Stopped by to get some chicken tenders for my hungry child - tenders and fries were both disgusting. How hard is it to make a decent chicken tender?

I go to the Third Alarm as frequently as I can for breakfast and brunch. The food is always fresh and tasty, and they have many freshly made dessert options that cycle out on a daily basis. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The coffee is standard diner fare... Nothing special to note there. It's a great little diner to get your greasy fix.

I had Saturday breakfast at the Third Alarm Diner in Downtown Sanford around noon. This place has character in the classic diner car atmosphere with a long lunch counter with stools and booths along the front windows and the far corner. The place is decorated with fire memorabilia and framed photos of local fire departments and past structure fires. The menu offers typical American diner fare for breakfast and lunch including the standard eggs, omelets, pancakes, sandwiches, burgers, grilled items, and comfort dishes. The prices here are pretty reasonable, under $10. They do charge for some extras such as cheese and onions in the home fries. Daily specials and desserts are also offered. I was offered coffee ($1.49) as I sat down. The coffee was really good and on the strong side. I had a Western Breakfast Sandwich ($3.49) on an English muffin and a side of home fries ($1.79). The food was out in a timely manner. The food itself tasted pretty good, but lots of oil and butter were used. The home fries were small fresh cut potato cubes grilled and covered in oil. The breakfast sandwich had a soft scrambled egg with green peppers, onions, and ham on a grilled very buttery English muffin. That was just enough food for me. My favorite place for Breakfast in Sanford and all the surrounding areas. The Lunch and Dinner menu is also excellent. The food is delicious! Generous portions that are reasonably priced. I have had nothing but great service and always found the diner clean as a whistle.
