Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

I have been ordering from saco house for about 2 years. The only thing consistent is their inconsistencies. Half the time they either forget something; soda, toppings, sides, sauces, etc. Last 3 delivery orders have been horrible. Paid for 4 topping in the calzone and only got ricotta cheese and chicken. Sent no sauce so it wasa massive mound of cheese, bread, and chicken. The other order I did a grilled chicken sandwich with veggies and honey mustard. Just got chicken, cheese, and bread; no sauce again. The one I ordered today came after an hour and a half. The onion rings were cold and soggy and under cooked. Turkey sub must have been in the window for an hour. Everything on it had become a massive soggy mess of crap. My girlfriend got chicken sub.....lol no frickin sauce once again. Why do I order from there? Not much around and usually hung over. Why 3 stars? I like the pizza. Be cautious ordering fries, onion rings, or anything fried. If they under cook(deep fry) then it tastes gross. If it is not delivered within 30 min cancel order, the fried food becomes so disgusting you cant eat it. Do NOT order gyro, any of the seafood plates, crab cakes, salads(worthless!!!), fried mushrooms(vomit). Pizza is pretty good and prices decent. Pasta plates mediocre at best. Subs are decent and priced well.

Ordered the mushroom pizza for delivery tonight and it was great! The pizza was hot when it was delivered. Fresh mushrooms made it taste even better! I will be ordering again!

Great food and service the staff is friendly and the steak and cheese pizza is incredible

Total garbage. Food was delivered cold. Grilled chicken sub tasted sour or rotten, couldn't eat it. Plus the 2 liter of soda was flat, how is that even possible. Don't waste your money.

Service was pleasant, but unfortunately that doesn't override the one star due to the giant blob of pure fat resting on top of my steak (I use this word loosely here) and cheese. I almost took a picture of it, but it literally turned my stomach. Not the only reason it was inedible, as it had green peppers and mushrooms grilled in with it that were tangled up by the cheese and therefore impossible to pick out. I can't have green peppers as they do not agree with me, and as much as I try to like mushrooms, I can't seem to eat them without gagging. Not sure how steak and cheese with onion translates to steak and cheese and green peppers and mushrooms, but it was definitely a waste of money for me. My husband found the pizza to be very bland, but my son said his burger was okay. We should have realized when we walked in and weren't hit by the aroma of sauce that it was going to be a disappointment. We did get a few laughs out of the sheer badness on the way home and I entertained my son by pretending the steak blob was chasing our car. The games you come up with on a five hour car ride...for that, I thank you, Saco House of Pizza!

Where I come from, an Italian is called a sub, and you want to have it toasted, run in the oven until the cheese starts to melt and the bread crisps up good. I have my problems around here getting that level of perfection. George's in Biddeford won't do that, neither will any number of sub shops around here. So when I want a toasted Italian, I go to Saco HoP, and they do it just right. For that I would give them 5 stars, but I have also had their pizza, and even my kids agree, not so hot. For pizza we go just around the corner to Michael's, and for burgers and fries I think you just have to go to Kennebunk or Portland..... So they only get 3 stars from me. The coolest thing about this place? A vintage Pac-Man machine, still takin' quarters!!

Pizza quality has gone down. Also there website ordering is the worst. It will allow you to customize an order and then they will call you to tell you that's not allowed. The guy that worked there even said their website usually isn't right. Seriously? Even though the site allows you and charges your card for it. I like to buy local and at this point Domino's has better food and service.

I will start by saying the reason for this 1 star is mostly for the Customer Service and Management. The food is fine. It's a typical House of Pizza food. HOWEVER, we placed our order online at 6:15 pm and when I called at 7:30 pm to check on the order they let me know that their FAX machine was out of PAPER (of all things-not ink, paper!) and because of the lack of paper they received my order WAY late and said our food was just in the oven now. THEN, at 7:55 they call us because they needed to make a change to part of the order and the delivery was leaving now. We called back to ask for a discount or credit and the manager refused to give us a discount. Said they have been SO busy and everyone has waited 2 hours and if they gave us a discount they would have to give everyone a discount. ----As far as I'm concerned YES, when it take 2.5 hours to receive a PIZZA you should be giving out discounts. This just seems so rude and HORRIBLE customer service. Guess we wont be going back here.

I love thin crust pizza. This would be 4 stars if I liked my crust thicker. Good amount of cheese, sauce on the sweeter side, crust was a similar to pizza huts deep dish--crispy crust that uses generous amount of oil. Small 10 inch pizza was $5, and perfect for two people. (we ate in the drive through down the street) Location itself is older--worn leather couch and cool vending machines to play on while you wait made the already quick wait fly by. They offer beer and wine and a wide selection of bottled sodas, waters, and juices. Counter service was friendly and they have "baked by grandma" homemade cookies that were really yummy. **Go on a Tuesday for a $2.50 Take out small pizza! Best deal in town. . .

I ordered delivery here one rainy night when my boyfriend and I didn't feel like leaving the hotel. The delivery was quick and the prices were great. My only complaint was that there was too much oregano on the pizza... it seemed way too overpowering. Otherwise, the toppings tasted great and were generously spread on the pizza.

I would give this place a 0 if possible. Do not get food from here. Employees are extremely rude. I have ordered from here over 20 times and they have not once gotten my order correct the sad part is that it is the only pizza place in the area. Terrible pizza, terrible service I give this place -5

I liked the Saco House of Pizza. It's pretty typical greek-style New England pizza, but the quality and quantity of the toppings is above average. We picked up our order & everything was right. The interior of the pizzeria was old and a little dive-y but it wouldn't have stopped us from eating there. I don't know if they can deliver a pizza but they can definitely make one.

2011: Decent food. Horrible service. 1-2 Hour delivery.. Food Is usually cold when delivered. Half the time they forget something when delivering. If you order on the Internet there's a chance that they won't even get the order. Needs new owners or better service. Also the garlic bread is NEVER fully cooked. If it wasnt for the really good chicken parm sandwich they'd get 1 star. Rather old review. I'll update it.. 4 years later. 2014: Salads are excellent but overpriced, subs are normal good subs, pizza has always been notoriously bad although haven't tried it in ...4 years. Delivery has gotten better. Still have gotten to my door missing items like drinks/salads or desserts/sides/sauces etc. and then I get bitched at when I go in the next day asking for the drink.. I'll come here all the time because they're open late and not incredibly unhealthy (depending on what you get). Baklava is delicious. Website is pretty horrible though (coming from a web designer).

If you like oregano, you'll love their pizza. Otherwise, the pizza is nothing special. Their recipe hasn't changed in 30 years!

Decent pizza, and I had a delicious Grilled Chicken Sub on my visit that seemed to be made from fresh rather than frozen chicken. More importantly, the Saco House of Pizza has an OLD SCHOOL Pac-Man game. I'm not one to brag, but I left with the high score...

Living in the Saco area, there are so many fast food places around but I was searching for a good pizza place. A little greasy, but I will definitely eat here again.

The pizza is good. They run great specials. The staff behind the counter is another thing. Blond girl is rude to customers and needs another job. For this reason we have stopped going. We don't need to put down or made to wait for an order that we called in because it does not accomidate her. For this reason we have stopped going, to many other pizza shops in the area to go to.

Have been coming here for years and originally gave them a good review. They are now cutting corners and it shows. If you order a pepperoni pizza and want other toppings they subtract the amount of pepperoni and will state that's how it's done, say what? Really.. Will never eat there again, poor customer service.

Sailed to Maine and at Saco docked nearby to this restaurant.. It was late and being that we wanted to head back to the boat we went to the nearest eatery, House of Pizza. The pizza had pools of grease on it, kind of thin and Greek style which I love. Quintessential New England pizza joint. Delicious! Highly recommended
