We just stayed here for one night when visiting a friend who lives in the area. This is a great little inn in a rural section of Maine. The inn keeper was VERY nice and accommodating. The breakfast in the morning was delicious! The inn itself is very homey, well decorated and very clean. We were not there to ski but apparently there is great skiing in the area. I would recommend this place to anyone who finds themselves in the Rumford/ Bethel area of Maine.

My husband and I and our 5 yr old stayed here February vacation. We enjoy bed & breakfasts and when I looked around for places to stay close to Sunday River this was by far the best deal and looked to promise a comfortable stay and good breakfasts. If you're looking for a perfect place, this is not it - it's a bed and breakfast in an old farmhouse. Big deal that some areas could use fresh paint- many B&Bs are in old homes and farms. The place is very clean and comfy, and the animals live in another section. We got to meet some puppies on our first night but the dogs were seldom seen in the guest area. They keep a keurig by the door to welcome you with coffee, tea or cocoa when you come back from your adventures which was thoughtful and appreciated, and they put out evening treats. I'm used to breakfast being it and the kitchen is otherwise closed the rest of the day. Jenna kept a fire going to put our ski boots by to dry. Breakfasts admittedly were over the top for our particular habits, but after other guests departed Darlene scaled it back for us. Expect eggs, sausage, ham or bacon in a variety of ways each morning, but they also keep yogurt, cereal and fruit at the ready for those that like it leaner. We stayed in the Rose room and they set up a cot there for our son to sleep in. Darlene even pulled out a tub of toys for my son to amuse himself with when we needed a break. The private bathroom we had is perhaps the one referenced in other reviews, it has the old toilet setup with the overhead tank and an iron claw tub with shower head. We had no issues with it, but perhaps a larger\taller person would be cramped in that particular shower. The shared bathrooms are modern. Thumbs up, I'd recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area. Thank you Jenna & Darlene!

A run down inn on a beautiful farm . the inn keepers were were nice and so was the quiet location but the inn is in desperate need of updating . just everywhere you look . if you are allergic to dogs or pets do not stay here . breakfast was very good .

We were visiting Maine for the first time in early October we were looking forward to staying at a B&B in the country. Well, that I was until we got there. The place was just not what we read about. The grounds needed attention, but I was optimistic I thought that we would enjoy some wine in the hot tub, that is until we got to the back entrance. I stopped dead in my tracks and said "What is that smell?" Turns out that right by the hot tub is where the pigs are kept! The smell was pig manure. The inn keeper was not there but an employee told us to look around, the kitchen did not look sanitary, food was left out. The rooms that we were going to stay in looked ok. But the whole impression of the place was just NOT good. We called Darlene to say we were not happy and she told us that she would keep our deposit if we left. Ok, it's smelly, not very clean and now we have had a dispute with the inn keeper. Is that where you want to vacation? And she did keep our deposit. We stayed it The Victorian in Bethel and loved it.

Quaint place, excellent homemade breakfast, comfortable if not smallish rooms, very nice hostess, pigs/horses/goats and chickens gave it an authentic feel. Would stay there again.
