No self-serve for toppings and all of four us (who are all froyo fans in general) thought that the samples tasted like sour milk. We walked around the corner and got regular ice cream from Beal's and we were much happier.

Fresh, locally sourced ingredients, featuring Smiling Hill Farms milk and fresh, seasonal fruit. This place is the best! If you're the kind of person that cares about quality, community and what kinds of foods you put in your body, give Go Berry a whirl!

I'm only subjective because I come from the land of frozen yogurt and its mostly self serve. I don't like that it is an extra dollar per topping. And some of the flavors are very tart. I would make sure to try before you buy just to make sure you like it. But overall, it is a good place if you want frozen yogurt.

Fresh and the best....no mixes used here! Go try it.

This is the second GoBerry I've been too (the other in Northampton, MA) and it was a consistent experience, which is great. The flavors are basic for in line with other frozen yogurt places, as are the toppings. The size was plentiful. The staff was friendly and obviously love that you can sample before you buy. I like their flavors, and the fact that their 'original' isn't too tart like some other places. Bummed they didn't have regular chocolate chips, but the vegans will love their vegan-friendly choc-ternative. I'd go again, especially since I believe it's the only frozen yogurt place in the waterfront/arts district.

You shouldn't come here expecting traditional frozen yogurt. GoBerry is a little more tangy and tart than other's are. Which is good, but different. To be honest, this is one of those times when... I don't know if I liked Go Berry or if it just wasn't for me. I was torn while eating it, and days later I'm torn about my experience. I hate being wishy-washy like this, but... it happens, right? Anyway, we went a little later at night and the two guys working the counter seemed like they had already emotionally started decompressing from their work day. They seemed less than excited that we were interrupting their down time, but were still very helpful. They let us try as many samples of their options that day - original, Nutella, and blueberry - that we wanted, which I appreciated. Both the Nutella and blueberry were a little underwhelming (flavor wise) for me, so I went with the original. Excited to put whatever toppings I wanted on it.... I realized I couldn't because A) THEY put the toppings on for you (I like it so much more when froyo places give me that option), and B) HOLYCRAPISITEXPENSIVE. A dollar per topping? And the amount of topping depends on who serves you?! May not seem like a big deal, but... the guy serving me put hardly any mochi (seven pieces) or blueberries (ten) on it, while the guy serving the boyo was EXTREMELY heavy handed with the Reese's Pieces (it was so covered, it took him a while to even find the froyo underneath again). Nope, I don't like that at all (not just because it's unfair [yes, yes, "life's unfair, princess, anyone who says differently is trying to sell you something"], but because the value of my dollar was apparently worth less than the dollar of the person next to me. Boo to that. I might come here again if I was craving this particular taste profile, but I don't know that I'd get any toppings. It doesn't seem worth it, especially considering the overabundance of other frozen dairy options in the immediate vicinity!

I couldn't be more obsessed with this place. I love that their flavors actually tastes like yogurt, unlike the overly processed, super sweet, fake tasting "frozen yogurt" that all of these other chains have. It's my one guilty pleasure, but I never feel guilty about this (almost daily) treat of mine. The staff is always super friendly too!

This the best place around. The original tart is delicious and made with all local ingredients.

Options are a bit limited but it's worth coming in! Love that the milk they use to make the fro-yo comes from Smiling Hill Farms! I used to go there when I was a teensy gal. I only come here for their Nutella fro-yo! Mmmm, that chocolate goodness tho. Perfection. I think, I'm addicted. The service is awesome. The employees are just super friendly and stylin!

LOVED the pumpkin spice frozen yogurt. LOVED the look of the bathroom (weird, yes, but it was so cute!!!!). The frozen yogurt boy was also patient and very nice in explaining the flavors. Nom!

I wanted to be in love with GoBerry but... sadly not. We came in around 2pm on a Sunday and the two girls at the front acted like we interrupted their conversation (which we most likely did, since we were the only customers in there). They seemed incredibly impatient to get my order done and ring me up quickly -- after everything I requested the one girl would immediately ask "okay is that all?". They only had a few flavors, which was fine, and they did offer samples (and warn me that all of the flavors were going to be tangy). Honestly... I am just not a huge fan of this type of frozen yogurt. I won't lie, I like my frozen yogurt to taste like creamy, delicious ice cream... so this didn't really hit the spot. They had a good selection of toppings and the fruit looked very fresh, and they've got lots of room to sit and enjoy your dessert (including lots of window seats which I loved), but... just not my style!

I could eat GoBerry all day, every day. It's my constant craving. Delicious & refreshing, it's not like the other frozen yogurt places around. Tart and sweet, it always hits the spot! I've always had extremely pleasant service there. They don't slack on the mini dark chocolate chips either! ;) I recommend it to everyone I know in Portland or coming to visit! Amazing!

Forget about Pink Berry, or any other McYogurt chain. This place rules. Unlike its rivals they don't do cookie batter, or cake batter, high sugary blends of yogurt plus dessert. Instead you get no more than three flavors at any time, which you can, if you desire, combine, or add on your typical toppings. Their yogurt is really good. Even the plain flavor. It's not overpowering, or super sweet, and taste quite healthy. You can eat this stuff without feeling guilty, if you're like me. It's just the right amount of chilled, and soft. The serving sizes are perfect for a small to large appetite. The employees behind the counter are courteous and definitely have an air of Williamsburg hipster. The setup inside is relatively bare bones. A bar on the side, and maybe 4 tables total in front of a big window smack in the middle of the Old Port. It's not very ostentatious, and I almost wish they put a little more effort to the interior design, but hey, the yogurt more than makes up for it. On a street with four frozen treat stores within lazy walking distance to each other, GoBerry is distinctive enough to hold its own against the local competition, so I urge you to give it a shot.

GoBerry is my new addiction! I love the health and fresh variety of fruits and other add-ons, as well as the fresh taste of their delicious yogurt flavors! The staff is always friendly, and great about making new suggestions, and you can't beat the price! I visit here at least once a week.

Gotta go 5 stars here - I've never left dissatisfied or hungry. Compared to other fro-yo places I've been (down south) GoBerry is kinda limited: four flavors to choose from, 15-20 mix-ins, all of which the workers take care of for you. BUT those are always great flavors (try getting a twist!!) and it comes from our local Smiling Hill Farm. Smalls are big, mediums are huge, larges are a meal in themselves. Pints are only $5!!! Bring some home! Make sure you get a frequent buyer card - GoBerry is so good it wont take long until you've gone 10 times and earn a free small one topping.

I usually pass right by GoBerry in favor of the gelato just a few steps away from it, but on a lovely late summer night some friends suggested we stop in, and I'm always game for a new experience (usually). I've been places similar to GoBerry, so I had idea of the premise. You get a few choices of Greek frozen yogurt flavors and then can add on whatever toppings you want. I tried all three available flavors, and decided to go with the original in a medium size. It was tart and tangy and good. One topping costs a certain amount, two toppings cost a certain amount, and then anything over three toppings is a fixed price. I started out tastefully with Fruity Pebbles and Honey Smacks. The girl working told me I was the FIRST EVER customer to order both cereals as toppings. I am a genius! Maybe I should have stopped there. There would have been a poetry to having just the cereals as toppings and being the first to do so, but I piled on mini chocolate chips. At that point I had three toppings, so anything additional was essentially free. I added graham crackers for good measure. I could no longer see the yogurt :) There's honey, chocolate syrup, and another sauce thing I can't remember, and all of these are free and unlimited. I added honey and chocolate syrup. The yogurt was really just a host for the toppings at this point. What can I say? I'm a glutton! My mountain of toppings and sauces was ready to eat, and I dug it. Of course it was good! I should probably try GoBerry again and do something like yogurt and a single fresh fruit topping to see what that sort of angle is all about, but as it was, my treat was delightful. The server was friendly and supportive of my gluttony. I enjoy that they get their dairy from Smiling Hill Farms, and in general have a local and responsible approach to their food. As far as criticisms, it was bit chilly in there. Not exactly the feeling you want when eating a frozen treat. The lighting was also harsh, and the place in general felt sterile. I don't mind a crisp clean appearance, but it just wasn't much of an atmosphere. I'd also like to be able to serve myself the toppings. I'm going to stick to the gelato and ice cream when I let myself indulge, but it's nice to have a different, lighter option in the Old Port for when the mood strikes.

One of my favorite frozen yogurt places in all of Maine! Plenty of toppings to add to your frozen yogurt. Quick and easy, and you never leave without a smile on your face. Great for a date, or just a quick snack. Small, quaint, and quiet. Definitely worth giving a shot over the other frozen yogurt and gelato places.

I love this place. The yogurt is actually tangy, as yogurt should be. It doesn't just taste like a lame version of ice cream; it tastes like its own product. I'm not the biggest fan of all the toppings, but my kids love them, so I guess it works out.

Tart frozen yogurt is the bomb! I could eat it every day and wish I could get it at home. I'm a sucker for local ingredients. Very few flavors, but original is excellent with or without toppings.

I want to love go berry for a thousand reasons. Let me count the ways: 1. They use smiling hill farms local dairy to make their homemade yogurt. 2. The 'original tart' is actually tart and really creamy and amazing. 3. The fruit is not old, gooey, or gross. Unfortunately, here are the reasons I cannot love GoBerry: 1. I like to scoop my own toppings. You can't do that here. I like to have variety and good distribution, and maybe I'm being picky, here, but I enjoy the interaction. Sometimes, I don't know right that second and need to improvise. 2. The staff ALWAYS look MISERABLE. Always. I've been five plus times in the last two months and probably won't be back anytime soon for this reason. The staff of young people don't smile, they hate saying hello, and if you ask for more than one (over priced) topping it's like you asked them to make their grandma walk the plank. 3. Seating. The space is small and poorly set up. If it's busy you have to stand over people at tables to start your order and then pay at the end. There are some outside spots nearby. I would like to add each topping is $1+ to add and yogurt is not done by ounce, but flat rate per cup size, poured by employees. Some people may find this to be smart business, I however, find it to be a little greedy. Take that as you will. I understand local dairy isn't cheap, believe me, we buy three flavors a week, and neither is downtown space, but it feels kind of like a grab. Those costs could be offset by better pricing, and better marketing, and better service. Overall, good yogurt, limited toppings, no atmosphere. Sorry, GoBerry!

Best froyo in Portland! Go Berry serves REAL froyo that does not taste like ice cream. It's the perfect amount of tart and creaminess. I am a sucker for original flavored froyo, so I cannot attest to the other flavors (Blueberry and Nutella). They use dairy from Smiling Hill, a local farm in the Portland area. Their toppings are also fresh and tasty, though a little expensive ($1 per topping). They should include one free topping per order. But on the bright side, they have mochi!!!

Okay yes, the frozen yogurt is tart and tangy and does not taste like ice cream at all.... But that's why I love it. Sometimes I'm a fan of a nice creamy ice cream, but if I want an afternoon snack or healthy dessert or even BREAKFAST than this hits the spot. Love that they use local dairy and the flavors are interesting and natural- don't expect artificial strong flavors or a lot of sugar.... Again, this is exactly why I love their yogurt. Toppings ARE expensive and the amount you get varies- my favorite is the original (which tastes like plain yogurt) with whatever fresh berry they have. I'm pretty sure I also saw that it's 100 calories per serving as well. Not for everybody, especially those used to traditional frozen yogurt filled with sugar and artificial flavors.... But I love it!

Amazing!! No froyo chain comes anywhere close to the quality of this froyo. Yes, it can be pretty expensive (we paid $11 for two smalls with toppings!!), but seriously - it was so beyond worth it. The other drawback for some is that the flavor selection is limited (4 choices), but they do have additional pre-packed pints to go offering additional flavors. Walk right on by the gelato stops to grab some of this amazing and healthier option! Will be back when in Portland!
