Service was slow, but the waitress was nice. I ordered eggs florentine and the eggs were perfectly poached, but the rest of the meal was so so. My husband got an omelet and said it was decent. Both of us didn't care for the home fries, very flavorless and some were still hard. Not the worst in OOB but not the best

Fish tacos were amazing! Not your typical greasy boardwalk food. Wait staff was very friendly and fast.

I love this place. I go here for delicious, home style cooking in an unpretentious, clean setting. They make turkey vegetable soup from scratch daily and offer fantastic daily specials. Gluten-free bread/rolls are offered, too!

My boy friend and I met friends at JJ's a few weeks ago on a Sat. Night. The food was great. They had a man singing on stage but was not so loud that we could not have a conversation with our friends. Clean and Friendly staff. Owners even came over to our table to see if everything was to our liking. I would refer JJ's to others looking for a good place to eat.

Terribly slow service and frustratingly oblivious owner. Arrived at 9:00am - at 9:45 we still had no food. The owner, obsessed with socializing with the locals he knows, ignores the frustrated patrons waiting with increasing impatience. He actually brings the cook out for several minutes to introduce to friends while 3 unserved tables watch. He eventually brings out breakfast from the kitchen to his friend's table, then makes one last trip with his own breakfast and joins them. It is truly a scene out of "Kitchen Nightmares" as the oblivious owner "Johnny" chats it up with his friends over his breakfast, while 16 patrons at three nearby tables watch in frustration. Simply poor form for the owner to not pitch in with his very understaffed employees - yet help in the kitchen to bring out his own breakfast. He never visited the three tables of patrons that weren't "locals". The food was ok, but nowhere near being worth the 45 minute wait. I would stay clear of this place simply due to the thoughtless owner, understaffed atmosphere and ridiculous wait for eggs. Last minute update: when we were ready for the check, the owner came to our table and asked how was everything. I expressed, politely, the above review. He then offered a sincere apology and comped the meal for our party of six. I find this type of apology and acceptance of responsibility rare. So my thanks to the owner for what I think is the rarest act in customer service - a sincere apology. The review rating moves to a 2-star from a 1 as a result. And I will now visit again, and revise my when that future visit happens.

Really surprised this place is rated so highly. We arrived here for breakfast, and waited nearly 50 minutes before the food we ordered arrived. Now, I'd understand if the place was packed out the door, but it was mostly dead aside from ourselves and a few others. I also would understand if it was dinner or even lunch, but we're talking scrambled eggs, here - should take more than 20 minutes MAX. Anyway, the food was just okay. Prices were very fair and the menu was at least decent. They got some of our order wrong, but we weren't waiting that long for them to make it right. The location is excellent, but inside is in serious need of updating. Even the patio area was poorly kept. I can't recommend anyone go here when there are so many places to eat at Old Orchard Beach. Even the dunks across the street would have been a better choice for breakfast.

I very rarely write a review, because I usually listen to my close friends rather than faceless reviews though when away I'll refer to Yelp. I must have mistaken the review JJ's Too for the original JJ's. Who would've thunk! It's mid summer so I get you're busy, I get that the kitchen is backed up and I get that it will be a 25 minute wait for food. But 50 minutes later and the food is still 10 minutes away (maybe). Inconceivable! The beers were cold but a mediocre selection makes it even that much more inconceivabler, especially when there a top notch pizza place across the road churning out pie slices like Dunkin Donuts does coffee. My gawd, it's a summer resort town in July, have some respect. Yours Truly, fAtcAt

We had no idea where to go for dinner at OOB. Ran into this place and looked at the menu. It was okay but they had a dude singing requests and a very mature lady joining in with maracas. Too good to pass up. Food was ...okay. I had some homemade broccoli cheese bites, not sure what I was expecting them to be. I was told by the motel that breakfast is the time to go to JJs, so we tried it another day. Breakfast was very good. Service was great, too. I would definitely go back for breakfast.

Perfect for us with three adults and 3 kids 6, 10 and 14! Chowder very good, haddock, chicken tenders, spaghetti dinner...something for everyone and great seating outside for our talkative group. Servers were very friendly and one can tell they enjoy working at JJ's. Train goes by slowly with friendly conductors waving to bystanders, making for a perfect end to a busy day at OOB! I truly believe this is a fantastic find for anyone and I would say the best eatery at fair prices for terrific home cooked meals!

I guess there might be a difference and service and food depending on the time of day. My friends and I went for breakfast around 10:30 on Sunday. We were seated promptly and when we ordered had our meals in less than 20 minutes. Each of us enjoyed what we got. I loooooved the turkey hash. Great flavor, good balance of veggie to turkey. One friend got cream cheese stuffed French toast and stated that she was hoping for less cream cheese and more sweetness but it was still great. My other friend lives a block away and frequents this establishment for its amazing Bloody Mary's The waitress was sweet and very informative about the menu options. She checked on us and made sure to ring us up quickly after our meal. So not sure if people posting a 2 or less stars are going at a different time or if they expecting more from this cute eatery that serves exceptional diner food. Either way I will end by saying breakfast is awesome!

We stumbled on this place this weekend while walking up and down the oob strip people watchin' and windows shopping. It's hidden back In between a pier fries place, ATM and the railroad tracks. Don't miss the small sign. Once inside there are a bunch of inside tables, bar side stools and tvs and outside patio.. We chose to belly up bar side for a mimosa breakfast. The first morning hubby had a huge single pancake as big as the plate and I had an egg sandwich. Mine is simple and easy but can I tell you NO place ever seems to get it right, this place did and two days in a row! Best egg cheese and bacon on a dry English toasted muffin I have had. Second day hubby had Irish Benny eggs with homemade hash! He was fat happy! Ice coffee comes with coffee cubes!,!! What restaurant goes that far and takes a simple step to make us happier?! JJ's does! They are open from am till late night and has live entertainment at night. Great breakfast menu and I'm sure the lunch and dinner menus are just as great. Come on by!

Never again. After a long day of house hunting, my girlfriends and I decided to check out OOB. It was raining so we wanted to eat at a sit down place. This was the first place we saw and it looked fine. I ordered a bowl of clam and haddock chowder and a salad from the salad bar. My friend ordered a burger and the other ordered a veggie quesadilla. I waited about 20 minutes to get my salad by choice since I figured their food would be coming soon. 45 minutes later, nothing. The waitress was apologetic, but we were starving! The food finally came and everything was fine....nothing to write home about but hey. Finally we get the check, and she charges me for "salad bar and soup" (8.95) and the chowder (6.95). After I pointed out the mistake she begrudgingly took a dollar off the bill. With my corona light and tip, it cost me $21. Like I said, will NOT be coming here again. Would have been better off eating a slice of pizza on the sidewalk in the rain.

I'm from Maine but currently live in AZ, and I'm spending a month in Maine on vacation living in hotels and eating exclusively in restaurants. After nearly three weeks, this is the first time I've felt compelled to write a review. My party ordered the fish tacos, lobster roll, lobster quesadilla, clam chowder, and fiddleheads. The people with me assured me the quesadilla and tacos were some of the best, if not THE best, they've ever had. We all ate and enjoyed the fiddleheads, and this was a treat since I haven't been able to enjoy them for years since moving away from this area. The lobster roll was rather huge, much bigger than the typical hot dog bun, but still with that perfect, buttery toasted flavor that can make or break a lobster roll. The meat was flavorful and chunky with just a touch of mayo. There was some lettuce in the roll, but it wasn't overbearing at all. Clam chowder is always a personal preference kind of thing with some people preferring thick and some thin, but being one of those people who like their chowder thin and with TONS of clams and just enough potato to add variety, this was the best clam chowder I've had. Not only was the consistency and clam/potato ratio perfect for me, but the spices were just right as well. They added flavor without taking away from the whole point, which is the clams. All this with quick, friendly service. The ONLY reason I'm not giving it the full five stars is the iced tea. It wasn't brewed, and that's a thing for me. If they had served brewed iced tea, it would have warranted a full five stars and then some. Iced tea aside, I HIGHLY recommend this place!

This place was deplorable. We walked in and waited at the host stand to find out that they don't have a hostess. We were told to sit anywhere by a patron at the bar. ( She was either a regular or the owner, I'm hoping it was a patron as she was sucking down whiskey like it was the last bottle on earth.) Our server was polite and courteous. We ordered scallops wrapped in bacon for an appetizer. We received 6 bay scallops wrapped in bacon skewered with a toothpick on a plate, no garnish, no dip, just tiny scallops flopped onto a side plate. If they used sea scallops then they quartered them because they where tiny! Onto my entree, Chicken broccoli Alfredo. It came out swimming in thin Alfredo sauce, mushy spaghetti ( spaghetti for chicken and broccoli?) and over cooked broccoli spears. The broccoli was so over cooked that it may have even been frozen broccoli that they used. If by chance the line cook that made my dinner reads this I have a question.....how could you put that dish In the service window and be proud of what you made? I also got the salad bar, omg it was nasty, dirty and not well kept. I do not suggest this place as a destination spot.

We had 6 people with 3 children and were looking for something family friendly. We tried going to a few different places but ended up at JJ's because of the wait. The live music was great. The train goes by next to the place and the kids thought it was cool. Outside area was very nice with a wooden bench for the kids to sit on. Looked and felt a little like a diner but expanded. The prices were reasonable and they had an ok menu to choose from. The specials are the best part from what i hear. We ordered fish and chips, burger and fries, clam plate, kids had spaghetti and meatballs. The fish was great, the burger was yummy, and the clams were good. The spaghetti and meatballs the kids liked, the meatballs had a nice Italian kick to them. The waitress was extremely nice and had everything out in great time. She was attentive to our need and we were happy with the service.

Seriously, the best food me and the boyfriend had our whole stay in OOB. And the least expensive. He had some sort of pasta with scallops in it and I had a lobster. If I'd known the other places in OOB weren't as good as JJ's, we would have eaten there every night. I can't remember her name, but the waitress was super sweet and really on top of things, especially since it's a "seat yourself and wait for them to see you" sort of deal, which was fine because our @ss's were barely in the seats before we were helped. I'm glad this place is 3 hours away from me or I'd be as big as a house!

Have you ever gone to the beach in early March in the state of Maine and then tried to find a bathroom? Unless you want to wait in line with twenty five or so disease invested teenagers then its virtually impossible. This is how my story of JJs Eatery Too in Old Orchard Beach Maine begins. It was a rare 80 degree day in early spring and Simone and I just had to go....and JJs located right alongside the railroad crossing in OOB was open for Business (mine and theirs). It is actually one of the only places open year round, and although from the outside it may not be the most inviting, the inside was clean and the people are friendly. After enjoying the pristine clean restrooms we felt obligated to eat something so we sat down and looked over the menus. Nothing on the menu will really grab you attention. It is basic bar food with lots of to be expected fried fish options. However the Turkey Vegetable Soup grabbed Simones attention and a Pork Quesadilla on special looked good to me. The food did not take long to arrive. The Soup was served in a coffee mug or bowl and included fresh pulled dark and white meat turkey and large diced turkey, carrots and onion in a turkey broth. Simple and yet very well seasoned and tasty and Simone enjoyed it. My Quesadilla was also pretty good and grilled crispy. It was loaded with diced roasted pork (I would have liked pulled better), a generous amount of mozzarella, tender apples, crisp smokey bacon and well caramelized sweet onions. They offered sour cream and salsa on the side but with this Quesadilla it was not really needed. Overall, this was a good choice for a decent meal in OOB when most other places are closed. The bathrooms and restaurant are clean, the staff is friendly and the food will not wow you, but it definitely will hit the spot. 3 stars for JJs Eatery Too.

Eh. Kind of expensive for what it is. Maybe I've been spoiled by Mulligans, but when you pay 13 bucks for fish and chips, generally you hope for something a little above and beyond four or five fish sticks on some limp-ish fries with flavorless slaw. It wasn't terrible. The drinks were solid. The guy playing guitar and singing was talented. The location can't be beat. It just wasn't really great food or great value for me. The third star is for ambience.

We went to JJ's over this past summer. We actually didn't mind them not having a hostess, so we were able to pick out our seats! We had a wonderful waitress who greeted us just as we sat. Offered us the drink special. The menu was nice. We had our two children with us as well. They each has the kids fish n chips. Which it was cooked to perfection, Not greasy and they had sweat potato fries with them. I had the lobster roll with the yummy sweet potato fries and my husband had a fish special. The bartender came over during our meal to cover up the window while the sun was setting and in our eyes. The only thing with that was it was a piece of cardboard. We are looking to go back next summer and we'll be sure to put JJ's on our list for dinner!!

We went for diner after a loooong drive from NYC. It was one of the last nice restaurants to eat at 10:30pm according to yelp, hail to them!!! We ordered the lobsters, amazingly fresh, just a bit sad the French fries were in the same plate and got soaked with water went I cracked the lobster open, oh well!!! Waitresses were super extra nice and fun. We got to play with the juke box for free and a free hug on the way out, definitely a place to stop by on your vacation in OOB.
