My wife and I like to get away in the seasons. We stumbled upon a not so hidden gem in the heart of down town Ogunquit. Apparently a new owner took over as the place was decorated with more class than the website showed and everything had been freshly painted with much better brighter colors. I got talking to the inn keeper who turns out to be a class act chef. Me being a chef myself I do not give rave reviews on chefs but oh boy can this gentleman put together fresh food. He gives breakfast as part of the cost of the room rental. He does an exotic breakfast with fruit cup but if you are not feeling exotic he does some toned down things like blueberry pancakes with wild Maine maple syrup. I was feeling exotic and he presented my wife and myself with a fabulous fried egg, creamy polenta and roasted asparagus delight. The following day we had a roasted veg frittata. Amazing, fresh and wonderfully delicious. He also has coffee and tea with fresh baked items in the lobby 24 hrs. He provides glasses of wine and a late moon snack. Sometimes he does a drink of the day like frozen mango margaritas. YUM! The prices vary depending on the accommodations but I would venture to say that the cost goes from 80 to 150 per night off season then probably 120 to 220 per night in season. Feel free to chat it up with him as there is nothing about the town or surrounding towns that he can't provide you with info on. I won't stay anywhere else. The inn is a dream and the inn keeper is a class act. Love this place.

Great B&B with the emphasis on both B's! Anthony was a great host and made us feel at home. We stayed in room 3 which had a comfortable King sized bed with an antique four post frame that was at least 3 feet off the ground. My wife is still talking about how comfortable it was. Anthony is a great cook and his breakfast surpassed our expectations with choices like vegetable frittatas and eggs florentine. Can't wait for our next visit.

We stayed here this past weekend in room number 1 at the top if the stairs. It was the coziest and smallest room at the inn. We noticed there was vacancy when we checked in and asked to see the other rooms but once Anthony showed us the room it was fine. The room looks much better than the website shows, nicely painted and better linens and much brighter. Anthony the owner is a chef and he always has a snack in the coffee and tea area for you. There is hot water for tea and a Keriug available all of the time. Breakfast was served on the side porch between 8:30 and 9:30 and the portions were huge and very good. One morning we had eggs with roasted vegetables and risotto and we also tried the blintzes with berry sauce(yummy). The next morning was homemade hash with eggs and also pumpkin ale pancakes. Anthony's mom helps out and she is a ball of fire and just full of information especially about dining. Very nice lady. Our bed wasn't made for some reason after the first night and I wasn't sure if this was their policy or they just forget and we didn't want to ask. That was the only miss. Otherwise it's a very nice place and spotlessly clean and a very easy walk into town and the beach. This was a much better experience than Bourne B & B off route 1 and Shore Rd where we stayed last year. The yard is nicely maintained.

I had the pleasure of spending a night at the Scotch Hill Inn and it was simply a wonderful experience. I stayed in room #2. The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean and met all my needs. It was the perfect way to unwind after a very hectic and demanding week. There was complementary tea/coffee service and scones available in the dining area if you got hungry or simply wanted a cup of tea in front of the fire. It was about 5 degrees outside the night I was there but each guest room is outfitted with a heater, I was warm and toasty all night. The only improvement that would have made my visit absolutely perfect was to increase the temperature in the common areas, it was a little chilly during breakfast. The proprietor, Mike went out of his way to ensure each guest was comfortable and all their needs met. He was knowledgable about the area and very helpful. This is certainly the place you want to stay for good old fashioned inn keeping. I would not hesitate to return, truly a gem in a beautiful place.

The best place to stay in Ogunquit. I chose Scotch Hill Inn based on the high reviews here and on trip advisor. Honestly, the place was even better than I expected. That's primarily due to the wonderful new owners, Anthony, who is an amazing chef and makes you a full breakfast to order every morning, and his lovely mother, Rita, who wants every detail of your stay to be perfect. Hearing that it was my husband's birthday, they left an adorable bottle of prosecco in our fridge and two champagne classes. Another highlight for me is the beautiful porch with ceiling fans where you can eat breakfast, as well as hang out on wonderful rocking chairs. I would definitely come back.
