Went here for dinner when I was staying overnight in Machias for work. The food was very good and very fresh. The salsa was especially good. They have a small, but decent selection of beers on tap, with a couple local microbrews. I sat at the bar, and service was friendly. There was a decent mix of locals and travelers.

Food was great. Owner was very friendly and helped us out with information on local happenings. Would visit again.

Great place! Atmosphere is modern, like nothing Machias has seen. Great staff and definitely a big city experience.

Visited this new restaurant on Main Street just off downtown in Machias. From the lineup of musicians that the bar brings in, like Mark "Guitar" Miller and others, this is a pleasant addition to the town's night life, which in the past was nonexistent. We weren't sure what to expect. It was Saturday night and my wife and I wanted a good meal and a few drinks, after a day of beach combing and a trip out to Jonesport and Beals Islands. We didn't want to go the "family restaurant" route again. When we called, we were told the food was homemade southwestern cuisine and that they specialize in a variety of drinks and cocktails. The menu did have a southwestern flair, with burgers, too. There was a jalapeno burger being featured as a special. I opted for the pork tacos instead. The pork was a bit over-cooked and the tacos could have been a bit warmer when they arrived. The sides of guacamole and black beans and rice fit nicely and were very good. I probably should have gone with the burger. My wife had the baby back ribs. She said they were "ok", although she makes such terrific, slow-cooked ribs that many times, the ones we've had in restaurants are disappointing. The ribs were not fall-off-the-bone tender that I look for in ribs (I sampled one); the dissh also came with black beans and rice and corn on the cob. The bar does have a large assortment of beers and cocktails. I went with the Gritty's Pumpkinhead and Mary had what was ostensibly a margarita, a very large, green one! Drinks were great. Service was solid, We had a very personable and attentive waitress named Amy. The one quibble we had was that the band was supposed to be on by 9:00 and at 9:30 after a couple of drinks and at the end of a long day, our hope of catching part of the first set of the night went out the door with us. I'd give Skywalker's another try when in Machias again.

Stopped in last Wednesday night as the nearby Thirsty Moose was not open. Food was mediocre, drinks were terrible (Mojito that had no flavor, tasted like mostly soda water), others complained there was no booze in their drinks. Waitress had zero personality. Did not find this to be a good, fun place which is what we were looking for.

We go there once or twice a week, and always enjoy it. The food is more fresh and flavorful than anything else in this area. The dinner salads are especially satisfying - light and flavorful. Service is friendly and fast, and the atmosphere is funky, with a lot of character.

My boyfriend and I were exploring the area on a road trip and we were looking for a place to grab a drink and an appetizer. At the time (August) this place had just opened. The décor just wasn't my style and seemed a little forced. White couches, purple accent lighting...just not my taste. On the flip side though its definitely different than any other bar we've seen in ME and it was nice to see a place with a more upscale theme. We ordered a couple of beers and the quesadillas and it was all really good and the staff was very nice and attentive!
