If I had to describe this place in just one sentence it would be: Gridiron smells like fried seafood. I know that seems really superficial, but every time I've ever come here (never by choice, by the way), the only thing I can think is, "Do I need to be anywhere immediately after? Because I'll need to bring a change of clothing. And a gallon of perfume. Maybe some spray-in conditioner." It's just so difficult to enjoy yourself when such a specific smell is that overpowering and invasive. In all fairness, if you're an omnivore who LIKES standard pub food (especially fried foods, wings, burgers, etc.) but LOVES sports, beer, and hot waitresses - and truthfully, there is a large demographic for this - Gridiron might be for you. It's continually one of the more popular places in Lewiston/Auburn for a reason. It is absolutely, however, not for me. I'm a vegetarian who has pretty high standards of what she eats (I prefer to spend my hard earned dollar dollar bills on good food and that's regardless of my dietary choices). I like sports, but I'm not obsessed. I like beer, but local stuff and not American Adjunct Lagers. And I don't necessarily mind hot waitresses, but they aren't a draw for me personally. Especially when my service is exceptionally slower (and ruder) then the ogling male patron's next to me seems to be. It's all good... it is what it is. But you really gotta work the crowd though, ladies. I'm a pretty good tipper when a little love is thrown my way! If you're looking for a cheap beer and a big ole' basket of extra spicy buffalo tenders, maybe a Twisted Tea promotion where scantily clad girls give away free t-shirts, and to watch the game on 9,150,807,863 giant TV's with some locals, Gridiron is the perfect spot for you. Again, it is for a lot of people.

Waited over an hour for a table. There was 5 of us so they wouldn'give us a booth. We told them we could take 2 booths. Instead whenever a booth opened, they gave it to someone else who just barely walked in. The service there is horrible. We decided to go somewhere else.

This Place has it ALL! The food was awesome. There are a bazillion TV's in here. Plenty of room for everyone! The chicken wings and Pizza were to die for! Next time I am in Maine, we will be back here!!

When we first started going here about a couple of years ago, it was pretty good, yeah its loud, but when you have a large family, its a plus and the kids love the large screen tvs...but the last few times we have been, not so great. The service has declined and the food has not been great. My husband usually gets a burger and twice it was very dry and the last time, they completely forgot his meal....it showed up after the rest of us were done. :(

We all had different meals and all loved the food. The varied menu had a lot of appeal. It is a sports bar so there are TV's everywhere...a few right in the booth. Noisy and upbeat with good service.

Went there last sunday..all I have to say is wow! never had such a crappy meal. soggy noodle soup..half done grilled cheese and wet fries! we won't be back to this place anytime soon. If you think this place is good food you need a taste bud transplant. The owner needs to check the BOH hacks! What a shame because this used to be a good place to enjoy a decent meal for a good price.

Had lunch at noon today with the guys at work. I was expecting the place to be packed for a Friday. But was able to grab a table right away. I ordered the green pepper & onion spicy sausage sub w/ fries. Not only was it filling, it was good. The sausage was juicy. Not dried out at all. It was spicy enough to let you know, but not enough to break out in a sweat. The onions and peppers could have been cooked a little longer. The onions were pale. The bun was nice and chewy. The fries looked fresh cut. And the iced tea was a little heavy on ice. For $5.99 I left full and satisfied. The waitress was prompt, friendly and stopped by once to see if things were OK. The place has 5 or 6 TV's on each wall. But quiet enough to have a conversation without yelling. I can imagine that not being the case Friday or Saturday nights though.

Grid Iron- come on. Ya'll need to pull yourselves together. Just waited an hour and a half for a table, and still didn't get one. Painful to leave after putting all that time in to waiting but really who knows how long we could have been there. Might have been a fun experiment! But anyway... There's an abundance of places to get basic fried food around the area. Maybe if I was waiting for Thomas Keller at per se but I have to LOL at waiting that long for GRID IRON. Clearly I've got nothing better to do tonight. But more importantly... Can you PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE teach your bartenders how to pour a Guinness? 2 stars for cheap drinks, when you can get in.

Grid Iron is the best sports bar in Lewiston. It has plenty of room and can accomodate several large groups. They have very large projection screens on top of their other TVs positioned throughout the restaurant. The food is awesome and they always have specials throughout the week. The servers are great and the atmosphere is always fun. My family and I come here often and will continue to.

Average bar food burger was over cooked again . scallops and fish was fresh bacon pizza was greasy nacho plater was good and a good size. Fries are bland and oily. Wait staff was friendly but a little slow. Used to be one of our favorite places, now not so much.

Food is out of a plastic bag, the bar counter was sticky and the service was okay. It has the potential to be something more. Plenty of parking though.

great sport bar, great food and great value! absolutely great.. the fried shrimp and haddock was lightly battered and very fresh. Not Greasy at all and they have an extensive menu try it you will not regret it. plus big tv everywhere and at each table you are spoiled with your own 19" flat screen tv. what a great idea!

Though a bit noisy when busy (which is extremely often), Gridiron is among the most reasonably priced, great-tasting-food restaurants in the area. The wait staff are wonderful, and the variety of dishes will satisfy anyone's preferences. Reasonable drink prices is just an added bonus...
