We went here for dinner after it was recommended to us by a few of the locals. I didn't see too many other places open at 9pm on a Sunday but this bar had a few people inside so we decided to check it out. I got the ruben and my better half got the lobster roll. Both sandwiches were filling and, even better, they tasted great on the way down! We will be going back the next time we're up in the area to try some more of the menu.

We went twice for lunch in the last two days. Yesterday was a 4* but today was a 2* so I'm going with my most recent experience to give rating Yesterday: Shared nachos between two of us. The starter could have served 3. Generous portion loaded with homemade chilli, cheese, jalapeños Shared a Reuben: half pound of pastrami! Tasty, good value and efficient service Today: Waited 30 min for someone to take our order and another 30 min to get food! We ordered lobster stew ($13.50) and a burger ($8.50) to share. Stew was ok but nothing to rush back for and I'm a lobster fanatic. Meat was plentiful but broth was bland and watery. Burger was terrible. Thin burger, cold bun, half ripe tomato I went up to our waitress to say bring us the bill and we will just pay for drinks and leave but she had our food on the tray. When I complained about service she said they were understaffed. Hello?! I could have slaughtered the cow and ground the burger mince in the time it took. She credited the burger and a wine so we got one free lunch. Inconsistent to the day before.

I love the Stress Free, been here a bunch of times over the years and the place just keeps getting better. This trip we split the Nachos and each got a salad. I also got the pork wings, wow so good tender pork riblets with BBQ sauce so tasty and fall off the bone good. Excellent, clean establishment with top notch service.

First the Cobb Salad arrived with spoiled brown avocado. It was quickly returned with undercooked pink and white bacon. I refused it. So, I ate half of my husband's chicken cranberry salad sandwich. It had sliced unripe tomato, head lettuce and no flavor. The potato chips were not good. The pickle spear was excellent. Our waitress did not refill our beverages.

It is what you would expect in the middle of nowhere. Mediocre food with so so service. Appeared to be dog friendly patio which is always a plus.

Loved this rustic pub! Tasty food, excellent service and a fun atmosphere! We enjoyed simple burgers and chips which were perfect after a morning on the Lake!

It was just okay. The food selection wasn't great and the quality was just okay also. The staff was friendly though and they accommodated a party of 14.

Food was good but service was slow. I had the buffalo chicken salad and my husband had the steak bomb. His was way better than mine.

The Moose serves a wide ranging menu that will please everyone tastes with fresh local food. The servers are excellent and the entertainment was as well.

Went there twice for lunch. Good food, nice staff, nice sitting on the deck but there WiFi is just not working even though they advertise it on their sign...

The best place in Greenville for great food and drinks. Since the new proprietor, Stacey has taken over she has expanded both the menu and the building. Fun place to go. Service is great. Employees make you feel like family. Highly rated and recommended. Only downfall is they are Patriot fans. Ugh.

Cozy pub for a cold beer and some hot food. We had a couple of pints, a burger and some lobster stew. Our waiter was attentive and the food was good. It's not fancy, but it is clean, and has nice rustic style. Stop in with confidence for a cold beer and a tasty sandwich.

Grilling on the porch in the summer, good selection of beers, from micro to the classics. Probably tight quarters in the winter, but a pretty great spot to enjoy a brew and burger on the porch in the summer time, one of the best spots in town!

Enjoyed hanging at "The Moose" the crab stuffed mushrooms were fantastic!

Food is very good, not fried, good selection of adult beverages, often has entertainment on the porch, has indoor sports bar, service is very good. I like the atmosphere as it is friendly and wholesome without being stiff and too vanilla

****7/09/12*** Went here after being completely ignored in a virtually empty restaurant (The Black Frog). The boyfriend and I walked up and we were greeted right away by a hostess and a guy outside grilling burgers for the restaurant I presume. They were short on wait staff (I think it was 11:30 or just about noon) on a Monday. So the bartender inside greeted us and gave us menus. We sat outside since it was gorgeous and after looking over a menus we ordered lobster rolls since my boyfriend never had one. They were decent and came out to us quickly. The pickles were delicious. It's just basic burgers/sandwiches but that's all you can expect out in the middle of nowhere and I was happy to have pleasant service and good food. DON'T GO TO THE BLACK FROG. (It's so nasty/dirty/rude staff)

Lunch consisted of a garden salad with grilled chicken and a plate of nachos. Hard to mess these meals up. The server was friendly, pleasant, and funny. The salad was cold and fresh, the grilled chicken also tasted fresh. The nachos were loaded with hot jalapeños, black olives, and more. Good food, good service, will go back for dinner this trip.

The Moose was our favorite dinner spot in Greenville. The menu isn't huge, but it's varied enough that there is something for everyone. Stress Free Moose is one of the few restaurants that stays open past 8:00 in Greenville, so it may be your only option if you arrive later in the evening or if you are hungry after a moose safari. I really wanted to try one of their unique hot dogs, but the grill was on for our meal, so I could pass up the steak tip sandwich with grilled peppers and onions. I wasn't disappointed. The sandwich was great.

The word "Meh" comes to mind. There is nothing really wrong with this place, but there's nothing great about it either. The bartender was personable, they had some interesting local beers, and they serve food. Notice, I didn't say they serve GREAT food, or even GOOD food, just food.

Not a bad spot. I adore Greenville and Moosehead Lake in general. Had an awesome Reuben sandwich. The place did make me feel stress free just bing there.

My wife and mine's favorite new watering hole in Greenville. Place is small but very cozy and inviting. Food selection is sparse (nachos were OK) but what they had for food otherwise was top-notch. Never had such a great lean pastrami sandwich. Chili and chicken gumbo very filling and delicious. They also do this foot-long hot dog thing baked right into a baguette pastry absolultey yummy. Think a giant Pillsbury cresent roll with hot dog built in. Good beer selection, nice friendly service, a few TVs to watch a game if on. Only regret is that the food menu wasn't bigger. Give this place Flatlander's menu and I'd be sold forever.

So there I was in Greenville, Maine... Yep, you read that right. I was fresh off of a moose tour and we were hungry. We decided to hit the Stress Free Moose for some dinner and some brewskis. The restaurant was very busy when we arrived, but we managed to score a table on the large patio. There was a live musician singing a cool version of "Brown Eyed Girl" and the vibe was lively. We didn't have to wait long for a waitress. She was friendly and suggested a few brews for us to try. I chose to have the blueberry Ale from Bar Harbor. It was so nice and refreshing and it came with blueberries in it! The place was getting busy so we decided to grab our waitress to order dinner. I chose the "Oh My Dog". It was OHMYGAWD good! It was a fresh baked out hollowed out,hot dog bun and stuffed with a beef weiner, shaved pastrami, chili, salsa, and cheese. It came with a side of chips which I barely paid attention to. I devoured the stuffed dog. It was amazing. Perfect after a day of driving and moose touring. We decided to stay and enjoy a few more beers and listen to the music. By the time we were done with dinner, the place was packed. Unfortunately, a girl got up to sing and she was just pitchy and awful. I kept wincing at her warbling. Oh well. If I'm ever in the area again, I will certainly visit Stress Free Moose again! The crowd was fun, the food was good and the male singer was great!

We loved this place. We had the steak tips they were delicious. The ribs were amazing and the atmosphere was really calm. We returned on Sunday for lunch and the service was abyssmal (slow) but given that we were on vacation not a big deal. The food is solid and consistent. Would give it four stars but the service just isn't great.

Awful service, and the food was barely any better The restaurant itself was nice on the inside and the outdoor seating was good as well. The food was typical pub fare burgers (but no fries?) and sandwiches. First off it took forever to be acknowledged by the waitstaff, and it seemed like an eternity before drinks arrived. Food itself took longer than it should have as well. I ordered a Cheeseburger cooked medium with potato chips and my wife had a B.L.T. The Cheeseburer arrived and the waitress said "the bun is really burned, but let me know if you want me to get a new one..." Uhh... really? It was charred and looked like a hockey puck and it baffles me that the server would bring it to the table in the shape that it was. By this time I was about to eat my arm so I just ate it. The burger itself was very little meat (similar to a single burger patty at McDs) and it was cooked like a hockey puck as well. So much for Medium. The B.L.T my wife ordered was missing a key element. Bacon. They actually brought her a Lettuce and Tomato sandwich on bread. Wow, I went inside to wrangle our waitress and told her the problem. The cook overheard me saying "There isnt any bacon on the BLT!!" and she yelled that she definitely was sure that she put Bacon on it. Well, uhh, ma'am. Im not putting it the bacon in my pockets in hopes of getting another 2-3 strips on my sandwich so you tell me where it is?! Long story short, crappy food, crappy service

Decent enough food at OK prices. I'd probably give it 3 1/2 stars if I could.

This place. located in 65 Moosehead Lake Road, is nice, cool and laid back. Had dinner at this place twice and enjoyed both dinners. I was with my husband and son, The first night.(Monday)..we ordered pastrami sandwich. My son and I had pastrami in marble rye and my husband had the pastrami reuben. Both are to die for...it was fantasttic.....i tell you. We are from New York and their pastrami can compete with Carnegi Deli's pastrami. The second night (Tuesday), i had a taste for steak and planned to go to Greenville Inn. However, they are fully booked and cannot accomodate us. Then I remembered what our Moose Safari guide mentioned to us that Stress Free Moose Pub and Cafe serves an amazing steak tips dinner on Wednesdays. So I asked my husband to go to Stress Free Moose just to checked the menu and glad to found out that they have the steak tips in the menu even though it was a Tuesday. So we go ahead and tried their steak tips....and OMG...the steak is sooooo good, tasty and soft....it melts in your mouth. It was out of this world. I saved a lot of money too because it was reasonably priced compared to Greenville Inn's price. Our server is attentive that she always checked on us, who are seated outside, if there's anything we need. So since i am completely satisifed with this place, I highly recommend it. Ooopps, they also made a great virginn pina colada. I liked it so much that i had to order it again before leaving town the next day. Bartenders are great . Nice to mention as well that locals are friendly and accomodating.
