Great food and an adequate wine selection. Appetizers were great -- steamed pork dumplings and chicken satay. Both had delicious sauces. I had the Ginger Crispy Duck which was well cooked with a slightly spicy sauce (I order "medium"). The vegetables accompanying it were good if unexceptional. My compatriots had the Crispy Pad Thai (good but a log of crispy noodles) and sesame beef (also got good to delicious) reviews. The service was great. Pepsi, no coke.

Excellent food!! Smells heavily of Dogs/pets though when you first enter. . Give it a few minutes and the odors dissipate! Happy Dining!! Yummy!!

I admit that as a lifelong inhabitant of the D.C. metro, I am prone to food snottery. To say I was skeptical about a tiny Thai restaurant all the way up in Damriscotta, Maine would be an understatement. Boy was I wrong. Everything is so bright and fresh. The selection is outstanding, the vegetables taste like they were just picked a minute ago and the service is quick and polite. On a scale of 1-10, where a local Thai Chain that Shall Not be Named is a 1, this place is an 11. It would give the better Thai restaurants around here some serious competition, especially if they kept their prices as the very reasonable levels they charge. In short, if you ever find yourself up that way, be sure to check it out. Speaking of scales, they ask you how spicy you like your food on a scale of 1-4. I am not a spice/heat wimp, but a 3 was somewhat challenging.

Wow! Fantastic. We had a few apps and they were modest in size and delicious. For main course I opted for a vegetarian noodle soup and it was truly amazing. A month later and I'm still dreaming of it. I must say this was a shockingly delicious find mid winter on the coast of Maine. Just go.

Yum yum yum! I've become a bit of a Best Thai addict! The best thai food I have EVER had. I'm still waiting to find a dish that I don't enjoy(and I've tried most of the menu). The service is excellent, take-out is speedy, and the atmosphere is just great. If you're looking for a Thai place on the coastal area, this restaurant would be well worth ANY drive.

We really wanted to like this place, because it came so highly recommended by reviewers. Meh. A lot of Thai food has a pinch of sugar in it. This had way more than that. The sauces and dips are so filled with cornstarch, it feels like Chinese restaurants in the 60's. Spring rolls are fresh but dry. There were no non-sweet sauces available for them, so we asked for oyster sauce and were given a teeny tiny saucer full. Tom Yum soup was sweet. Pad Thai was full of cornstarch, with tasteless shrimp. My companion asked for five star hot, explaining he'd lived in Thailand for many years, and was given one star at best. Larb Gai was covered in a lime sauce with a lot of sugar in it - easily half a cup of sauce, so it sat drenched and soaking. Bits of lettuce were mixed in and quickly became soggy. I finally poured it off into my empty water cup. While we weren't exactly rushed, all the food came out one on top of the other and it certainly felt like they'd be glad for our table. There were a few people waiting, but not enough to make it worth annoying a customer. Oh, and they forgot one of our party's order completely - stopped at our table with it, looked at us, then gave it to another table! It had to be cooked from scratch while everyone else ate, then waited. If you haven't had good Thai food, you might find this acceptable. I don't know how sweetening everything on the table would make anyone happy, but some people like that. Sorry to be so negative; the staff were nice, attentive, hard working, but the food really was not up to scratch. People who have lived in Thailand and eaten well, or eaten any good Thai food anywhere else, should be aware of the over-sweetening, the corn starch, and the general poor quality of the food here.

Excellent fresh food with knowledgeable staff. Had lunch and will make this a regular stop. Looking forward to dinner. One caution is the heat. Unless you like your Thai spicy stay with the single pepper when selecting how spicy you want your meal. Try the sweet Thai tea.

Good service, food, atmosphere, location. Can't beat it. We eat there at least once a month and enjoy ourselves every time.

I must have been to 15 Thai restaraunts at this point. I have been to them all. I usually go with a buddy and his wife who is from Thailand. With very few exceptions most of these restaraunts are not owned by Thai people or might have one Thai worker. I finally found some genuine Thai food at Best Thai. The salads and soups are really what stands out here. The Green Elephant on Congress seems to get all the recent buzz for Thai food, but Best Thai does salds much better and they are not vegetarian. I would give this place a try for the salads. They truly are unique. Fried ice cream is a must for me and I also like the stick rice pudding. In some ways I felt like I was back in Thailand. I met a few Thai people who had just arrived to work here for the Summer. They were eating here due to the reputation. I was eating here another night and some local Thai restaraunt owners came in for food. That in itself is a good sign. The greatest compliment was eating here with my buddy's Thai wife. We have been to every Thai restaraunt in Maine. We have finally found a place with real Thai food and real Thai people.

Best Thai just opened in Damariscotta a few weeks ago and while the name sounds a little cheesy they actually are serving some very fresh and well prepared food. To my knowledge, this area has never had quality Thai food, or any Thai food for that matter. Best Thai is a welcome addition!! On our first visit the service was a little slow and awkward but that can be forgiven for any restaurant during their first few weeks. The food was delicious and well executed. We will definitely go back.

We really enjoyed our meals here , I don't eat seafood so it's refreshing to have a different option! I had the drunken noodles and my boyfriend had the Thai garlic beef ! Both were delicious ! We sat outside and received great service , a great restaurant !

Maybe call it "OK Thai"? We had take out, so I will admit that might have affected food quality a bit. We ordered Kee Mao, Pad See Eww and Rama Garden. The Kee Mao was the best...spicy, sweet, that little fish sauce tang. Pad See Eww was, well....odd. Had a bizarre sweet thing going on, and despite being ordered VERY, VERY mild (for my 5 year old), it was as spicy as the Kee Mao. My wife's Rama Garden was a mess....watery sauce. Decent flavor, but more of a broth than a sauce. Next time, we would try eating there....maybe that was the problem?

A year later, and still incredible! Fresh, flavorful and reasonably priced!

I love this place! Staff is really friendly. And they have amazing food. The price is very reasonable compared to other Thai restaurants. I would reccomend this place to go to.

I went to Best Thai and ordered take out. Seafood Tom Yum, Massaman curry chicken, drunken noodle, and even some crispy duck. All very tasty and fresh. I do enjoy the bright clean flavors of Thai cuisine. I must admit portions are not up to par with what one would normally expect, but it was delicious. I will be a customer again.

Best Thai food and service. The staff are amazing and the food incredible!! We try to visit once a week.

It was pretty good, the serving sizes were pretty small though. And the restaurant itself is really tight. Everyone seems pretty friendly. I went with 5 people and all our food came out at different times, it was a little strange. It was about a 15 minute window from when the first plate came out to when the last plate came out
