Nice out of the way eatery. You order at the cash register and seat yourself. Remember to pick up your utensils and napkins before you go to the available indoor or outdoor table. There was a wait for the food, but the food is good. Nice time, and we enjoyed ourselves. Took awhile to give this review as I wanted to be in the correct frame of mind. It is what it is, nothing really special, nothing really bad.

While on vacation to Maine we had time for one last experience before hitting the Boston airport and flying home. We found Doc's easy to get to from I-95 and were so glad we did. Great little town and friendly service with really good food. Fantastic way to finish our Maine vacation on a Saturday morning.

We came all the way from VA to visit family. Finally a non-chain establishment with a family friendly atmosphere. We really enjoyed the authentic old home turned coffee shop. Our kids loved the candy station and book nook. We will definitely be back to try some more food. The blueberry pancakes are a must.

I ate two meals here during a recent visit to Cumberland. It is a GREAT little restaurant with delicious food. Apparently they make almost everything from scratch, including the bread for many of their sandwiches. It is priced reasonably, the staff are all really friendly, and the food is delicious. The atmosphere is also really neat, as I'm pretty sure it's located in a historic building of some sort. Their coffees and teas are also really good. I ordered an omelette for breakfast one day, and came back the next day and ordered their Reuben sandwich special. It was one of the most delicious reubens I've ever had in my life. I got it on marble rye, and it was cooked to perfection. One of the chef's came out to ask us how everything was, which I thought was a nice touch. Next time I find myself in the area, I will be sure to stop by Doc's for another delicious meal.

Wow! Absolutely charming atmosphere with delicious made to order food!! My daughter and I stopped by looking for a quick snack and were surprised to find such an extensive menu. She had blueberry pancakes and I had the haddock chowder. The chowder was huge, fresh and the best I've had in a long time. Very reasonably priced, with friendly attentive staff. Great job Cumberland!!

New on the block, but with some history. I hope this place does well, because Cumberland could certainly use a nice cafe where you can stop and get some afternoon reading or work done. I thought the food was up to par, the staff was friendly and helpful.

I've been dabbling in the local restaurant for a few years now since they've opened in 2012. The food is great, the atmosphere warm and cozy, and they make it a point to have a children's area so they can run around and play. I've always had a nice experience at Doc's; eating here with family and friends. And the food is always excellent and delicious. I removed my earlier review on them because I realize I may have been a little too harsh with my wording (I tend to do that as a writer). I will reiterate this: The handicapped designated parking isn't exactly handicapped only, as I found out from a staffmember. Or so it seems! Because of that last incident I doubt I will venture into Doc's again simply because I do not feel welcome there. I hope others will enjoy it but unforunately I believe my Doc days are over for now. Just don't report parking problems and you won't want to take a break from Docs, like me!

Cumberland is a nice community, but not exactly the center of the culinary universe. Heck, it's hard to find a place to grab generic gas station coffee and a prepackaged donut at 6:30 am. Doc's Cafe & Marketplace, where the late local legend, Dr. Louis Hanson, served his community as their doctor for more than two decades, has been turned into a great local eatery, featuring homemade breakfast items, coffee, fruit and yogurt, and a variety of other foods, as well as lunch, too. My wife and I frequently swim at the Greely pool, and on select Fridays, we've started making Doc's our breakfast date spot. They offer a great breakfast burrito--perfect for apres swim hunger pangs. The burrito is stuffed with scrambled eggs, roasted red peppers, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, and I like to add sausage (you can also choose bacon, ham, or go meatless if that's your preference), wrapped in a flour tortilla. They ask if you'd like a side of salsa and sour cream, which I give a thumbs up to! Miss Mary had the blueberry pancakes this morning (with whipped cream), and she loved them. Doc's serves Coffee by Design coffee, which is also a plus. During the summer, on Thursday nights (I think?), they fire up the grill and offer burgers, sausage, and other items from 5:00 to 8:00 at night, along with live music.

Very impressed! Was looking for a quick breakfast after an appointment and found one of the BEST breakfast meals I have had in a long time. I ordered the corned beef hash which came with two eggs and toast for $7.95. The hash was homemade with bits of real veggies and tons of corned beef - very, very good. The over easy eggs and toast were perfect as well - even came with HOMEMADE jam and peanut butter - pretty incredible for a small business like this. I even got a sample of their pumpkin whoopie pies - divine. Service was great, coffee was hot (Coffee by Design) and the cook who brought my meal out was passionate about the food - which I love. Would definitely go there again, if not for breakfast, then for a pastry. A+

How can I begin to express my absolute love for this restaurant...for starters, this place feels like home. It is laid back with comfortable ambiance and big comfy couches along with traditional seating. The upstairs room is perfect to eat with our temperamental toddler so he doesn't bother the diners downstairs. Kid friendly for sure but also a great casual date spot. The staff is incredible. They are so helpful and it is apparent that they love working here. Lastly the food is all homemade and so tasty! Their burritos are the bomb. Free wifi! Eating here will be the best decision you will make all day.

Lovely spot. Very good breakfast burritos. Grill nights on Thursdays in the summer are a home run every time. Wonderful steaks, fun sangria, and amazing bacon jalapeno mac 'n cheese. Live music on grill nights too. I don't even live in Cumberland, but I find myself eating at Doc's a lot!

Came for breakfast based on many 5 star reviews. Service was good. Staff was friendly. Nice location, no ambiance, there were a few outdoor tables. Food was average. It was fine, but nothing special. They were out of sausage at 9 on Saturday morning, not impressed by that. Took off a full star for charging for refill on coffee. That seems incredibly cheap if your listening, Doc.

Oh I am so happy to have found this place! I was driving through on business and needed to grab a quick lunch, and this spot looked promising. Sort of tucked off the main road and with ample outdoor seating, I was sold. The service was super friendly but, honestly, quite slow... I was glad I wasn't in a hurry. But the sandwich was damn delicious, they had lots of yummy sounding options on the menu, and the pickle! Oh, the pickle.

Messiest Ruben ever. Grease and water filled the bottom of the plate--like corned beef or sauerkraut weren't drained. Wifes burrito was teeny and wasnt very tasty. For 21 dollars, the price was steep for 2 sandwiches a coffee and soda.
