I 've never written a review before but The Blue Harbor House Inn inspired me to write my first! We stayed there for our 30th anniversary and it couldn't have been a better choice - Terry & Annette are incredible hosts! They are warm and welcoming and made us feel very special. The flowers, amazing chocolate covered strawberries and a card were really lovely and thoughtful. Terry had a lot of helpful suggestions of things to do and restaurants in the area. We really enjoyed talking with him. We stayed in the Captain's Quarter which was a great room. The sauna/shower was amazing. It was helpful that it had a refrigerator in the room. We especially liked the gas fireplace which made it very cozy. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was the best we've ever had! We told Annette that we thought she should go on one of the TV shows where chefs compete. It is served in a sunny lovely room with elegant china and table cloths. Terry is very attentive. They were amazingly accomodating to our challenging dietary restrictions (gluten-free, dairy-free, etc.). Annette had made special delicious gluten-free cookies for the afternoon tea and had gluten-free bread for breakfast. The poached eggs florentine (she left off the sauce for my dairy-free needs) were the best I've ever had - the oatmeal was delicious, poached pears in berry sauce were superb - the bacon was the cooked to crispy perfection. We look forward to returning to the Blue Harbor House Inn! Thank you Annette & Terry!

This place is delightful! Terry and Annette are amazing hosts. Terry makes you feel welcome from the moment you meet him. He has a wonderful sense of humor and can give you plenty of tips about shopping and restaurants. Annette creates brilliant breakfasts; yummy homemade granola with yoghurt and berries followed by Eggs Florentine one morning, poached pears with blueberry pancakes another. DELICIOUS!! There is a small "amenities closet" available with water and ice. Also afternoon tea, but treat yourself to a bottle of wine and some cheese from the local shop (Lily, Lupine, and Fern is the best!) and sit on the front porch to watch the world waltz by. Ah! It doesn't get much better than that.

We stayed here for 2 nights two weeks ago it was great Terry and Annette a Scottish couple own the BB. It is in walking distance to the town so we never took our car unless we ventured out to other parts of Camden and surrounding towns. The room we had was spacious the bed was very comfortable shower was unreal with jets and steam, along with a sound system built in. Over stuffed huge chairs that were so firm and very relaxing, along with a gas fireplace. Breakfast is included homemade granola with fresh vanilla yogurt and eggs of your choice. Every morning it was something different, bottled water and afternoon cookies and tea compliments.

Had a wonderful time here at the end of May. It's a beautiful, charming B&B. Our room was very clean - it had a Keurig, a shower and a bathtub. Terry and Annette were were phenomenal hosts - very welcoming and warm. Afternoon tea is not to be missed! We will be back at the next opportunity!

Has to be one of the most excellent places to stay in Camden! The inn is beautiful inside - New England style, rustic and comfortable - and conveniently located within short walking distance to downtown. It's beautifully landscaped outside and very welcoming. Our room was perfect for my wife and I whilst celebrating an anniversary: small but adequate with an en-suite which had a steam shower. The Innkeepers even surprised us with rose petals scattered on the bed and chocolate covered strawberries upon arrival - nice touch! There was a communal cubby outside the room which had a fridge, DVDs, games, books and a wine chiller with a small selection of bottled wines for guests to take to their rooms - again, nice touch. Breakfast is served between 8-9am in the comfortable dining room, and was amazing! The juice was fresh, the coffee robust, the teas strong and flavourful (with a secret stash imported from Scotland), and Terry, the owner, never left a glass or cup empty - his service was impeccable. For starters he brought out French Vanilla yoghurt with homemade granola and fresh berries which was great. Next up, Quiche Lorraine... which, if done right, can be a brilliant start to the day. Sure enough it was perfect: fluffy eggs, tasty chopped bacon chunks, fresh tomatoes, onions, and mild spices with a light and crusty pastry, served in personal terrines, and garnished with fresh fruit on the side. To top off the best meal of the day, Terry brought out juice poached plum (or was it baked, I don't remember?) which was glazed in honey and served atop yoghurt and fresh basil - wow! We were stuffed and satisfied with such an excellent breakfast. We met the other owner, Annette, who was extremely friendly. Overall, we couldn't have had a better stay. We'll be back - nice job Blue Harbor House!

We stayed here on a whim last weekend. I called a few hotels in Camden while we were driving north without luck. My mother suggested the Blue Harbor having stayed here a few years back. Perfect location, an easy walk into town and affordable. The inn is quiet and spacious, we stayed in a two bedroom suite with its own entrance and sitting room downstairs. The afternoon tea was a delightful surprise upon our arrival. (The chocolate flecked macaroons were delicious) The breakfast was well paced, creative menu wise and overall very pleasant. The inn keepers were very accommodating and welcoming. We forgot our phone charger and they were kind enough to mail it to us straight away. I look forward to staying here again and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a night in the winter - it was such a great find! Making reservations via their website was extremely easy, and I was able to book a room only 2 days before our stay. We were greeted by Terry when we arrived, who gave us a bottle of wine gratis and walked us through the areas in Camden we should check out that evening. After hitting Cappy's for dinner, we returned to our immaculate room. Everything was clean, beautifully presented and extremely accommodating. We slept wonderfully on the extremely comfortable bed (with great sheets, couldn't get over how soft they were). In the morning Terry and Annette made us a delicious Eggs Florentine for breakfast with juice poached pear in the dining area. It was a real treat. We loved everything about the Blue Harbor House and we can't wait to return!

My wife and I stayed at the Blue Harbor House during our "mini-moon" in August, 2014. We booked our room (#7) only a week before, and as a result, were only able to stay for one night. We wish we had been able to stay for longer! The room was very comfortable, and nicely laid out and appointed. The pillows were very comfortable (uncomfortable pillows are a pet peeve) and the linens, as others have noted on Yelp, were very soft (we noted the manufacturer and plan on ordering some for our own bed). The WIFI offered good speeds (I was able to play Netflix on my iPhone with no hick-ups). The inn is only a short, pleasant walk from Camden center, but since it's not right on the water, the room rates were much more affordable than those of many other inns in Camden. The innkeepers themselves were delightful. They told us that prior to opening the BHH, they'd run a B&B near Edinburgh, Scotland. Their experience was apparent. The innkeepers were courteous, solicitous, and obliging. Though we booked the room only a week in advance, they were able to accommodate my vegan wife's dietary restrictions by preparing a special breakfast for her. Additionally, when we checked in during the mid-afternoon, the innkeepers had baked a special batch of vegan cookies for my wife, to be served with afternoon tea and cookies, which they set out every day. My own breakfast was the highlight of my dining experiences in Camden. To start, there was a juice-poached pear served in yogurt with warmed, fresh raspberries. Then, I had the most delicious eggs florentine (with a side of sausage and fresh fruit) I've ever tasted. The hollandaise sauce was so good that I asked for an extra English muffin to sop it up. Additionally, the innkeeper kept our coffee mugs full throughout the meal. If we return to Camden, ME, which I suspect we will, my wife and I will be staying at the Blue Harbor House for our entire stay.

We stayed in the Nautical Nook room for 3 nights in mid-June. The proprietors, Terry and Annette were wonderfully friendly. Our room was clean and cozy and the sheets were unbelievably soft. The room wasn't huge but the bathroom had ample space and included both a stand-up shower and a claw foot tub. Breakfasts completely surprised us by being absolutely delicious. We didn't miss a single one while staying there. We did miss, however, their afternoon teas which is served every day around 3 to 6pm. But one day we smelled the cookies baking and it was fantastic so we regretted missing it. The location is great. We loved being able to leave our car at the inn and walk to downtown Camden or other neighborhoods as they were all within just a few minutes walking distance. Not to mention the fact that our favorite restaurant, Long Grain, is only a couple blocks away. Terry recommended this one to us and said it was one of his favorites. It was VERY good. There was no refrigerator in the room but there was an "amenities closet" where we found complimentary bottles of water, $12 bottles of wine, should you want to enjoy a night cap, and plenty of space for us to keep a couple items for a day or two. It was right at the base of the steps to the Nautical Nook and right by the door to the inn so it was really convenient. The only down side we found was that the room faced the main street so occasionally we heard some traffic noise. Being from NYC, this probably didn't bother us as much as it might others. However, we left our window open rather than using the AC so closing it would have helped. All in all, we enjoyed our stay here very much and would definitely come back and recommend it to our friends.

We stayed here and were in the Nautical Nook. The room had low sloping ceilings and was short on space to set anything down. The shower was extremely cramped although neither of us are big people. I am only 5' 9" and couldn't even stand up straight to pee! The shower was extremely cramped although neither of us are overweight. Breakfast was a homemade granola with french vanilla yogurt (awesome) and eggs florentine that were delicious. Self serve bottled water and afternoon cookies and tea complimented the breakfast here. The room itself is the only reason I'm knocking off a star. The place is clean as whistle and the owners (who met on the actual Love Boat) are super friendly. And, even though we were running a road race and needed a late Sunday checkout of a room that was already booked, they offered us a shower in another room! They also mailed my hat back that I left in the room. No charge! The innkeepers really make this place and it's location just a bit out of the heart of downtown Camden make just for the perfect walk after dinner.

The location is excellent, off the busiest part of Camden but 2 blocks away. The breakfasts were excellent, every morning, and Terry gave great suggestions when asked about what to see and do. The decor of the room was a bit dated, we stayed in The Compass Rose room, which had a nice big tub to soak in after long days of walking. I would highly recommend staying there.

I took my mother to Maine for her 50th Birthday, and we stayed at the Blue Harbor House. The owners of this inn are so kind and welcoming! They're also the best cooks/bakers ever and it was COMPLETELY worth getting up early to eat breakfast at the inn! Breakfast was from 8-9 in the dining room and they serve you the most amazing meals. They also catered to my egg allergy and asked me the night before what my favorite breakfast was, and Terry made me a fantastic home-made Belgian waffle since I couldn't have what was being served that morning! It was FANTASTIC. There is "tea time" in the afternoon where they put out all different kinds of tea, coffee, and even hot chocolate! They bake different cookies every day and leave them out from tea time until the evening so you can go in and take some whenever you're around! There are beautiful tea cups as well, and the aura of the place is so relaxing and beautiful. The cookies are amazing and I asked for the recipes so I can make them at home! The inn is in a perfect location to walk right into town where all the yummy restaurants are and it's right near the harbor, a bunch of really cool shops, and 2 thrift shops! It couldn't have been a better location. We had the beach rose room which was lovely, and the bed/pillows were so comfortable. They even have a small collection of books and dvd's next to a mini fridge filled with water in their amenities closet. It was perfect for when we wanted to stay in and relax! They also have lots of brochures and they know so much about the area and the best places to eat, and have fun! They suggested we go on the SURPRISE sailboat on a 2 hour cruise and it was fantastic. The owners of the boat were wonderful, and it was the perfect suggestion for my mother and I. I loved every minute of staying at the Blue Harbor House, and the hosts made it all the more special! We can't wait to go back! :)

We stayed here for one night and Terry & Annette the innkeepers could not have been more helpful. We should come clean and state we also run an inn, so we do have very high standards. These were certainly met, in all but one small and we think important area. Having said that the area in question is a very subjective observation. We like to find inns and B & B's that reflect the owners, and we felt Blue Harbour house reflected a previous owner of business when it came to the bedroom & bathroom. Our room was spotlessly clean but we felt it was dated. The fixtures and light fittings etc did not have a wow factor about them, and the decor was not reflective of our taste, but we must stress we do like a 'WOW" when it comes to decor! The breakfast was a simple affair, and as we are not partial to pancakes....well we are British, a very enjoyable omlette was offered and delicious it was too. The inn has a homely feel to it and we think it was us and not the inn, that was not quiet right for our tastes. See told you it was a subjective comment..... Nowt wrong with the place if you don't mind traditional New England, and in Camden there are many competitors all doing that style...which we think does create an opportunity for a competitor to undercut the overpriced Camden Harbour Inn.....at about $400.00 a night you'd think they would have proper air conditioning at the C.H.I. rather than cheap window units!

As soon as we walked in the door we were welcomed by Annette - full of energy and ready to give us a breakdown of the best places to eat/visit in the town. We ended up following her advice and choosing the waterfront restaurant for an appetizer and drinks. It was great! Back at the Inn, we stayed in the 'snug suite'. It was spacious and comfortable, with TVs in both rooms and enough books to keep us interested for a while. Our favorite part of the stay was the food though. Macaroon cookies at tea time (around 5) were yummy! and breakfast was amazing! Fluffy blueberry pancakes, ripe fresh fruits, and sausages were served by Terry - our other friendly, gracious, scottish host.

The Blue Harbor House is an absolutely wonderful B&B in Camden. We stayed in a nice large suite with a fireplace. It was a delightful room. That's the bed part. The breakfast is even better. The Scottish couple who run the Blue Harbor ask if you have any dietary restrictions and build a superb breakfast around that. they also make sure you don't have the same breakfast twice if you' re there for multiple nights. This was a true 5 star experience. If I'm in the area again I will definitely stay there.
