Well, I have read some of these negative reviews...I have used this Catering company many times...wonderful , personable, and professional, I for one am extremely anal when it comes to details and near perfection..this certainly met mine and my guests expectations..the food was good, the price comparable....never once did Marie talk about herself, she was on time when requested. I would definitely use again and recommend. Oh and as for hair being in the food..I have been to high end restaurants and had that happen...so no one is exempt of that happening My thought is either some people have champagne taste on a beer salary or simply put do not know how to eloquently handle the proper way to communicate reviews..good or negative. Just my opinion.

I attended a function catered by Simply Elegant. They were rude, unprofessional, and there was a hair in my chicken. Fortunately, the chicken wasn't very good to begin with, so I didn't really miss out on anything.

Absolutely terrible! The owner, Marie, made my wedding experience absolutely miserable. She was nice at first (although never particularly professional, and she is very focused on talking about herself), and we hired her because of her low price (we were on a tight budget). I got cold feet when she was very late to our tasting and spent most of the time talking about herself...but, we went forward anyway. Leading up to the wedding she would respond rudely to emails (if she responded at all) and told me that she had other events and I would get my time a week before the wedding, but no sooner. She would tell us our requests were unreasonable and she would not do them because it would inconvenience her (like our request for stuffed grape leaves she could not fill because she did not want to drive a town over to get them). When my husband confronted her about lashing out at me, she denied it initially, and eventually said she had personal stuff going on and way over disclosed about her personal life. While I am incredibly compassionate and understanding, I don't feel that it's appropriate to tell clients the details of your personal life in an attempt to gain sympathy for poor behavior - if I did that, I would be fired from my job. An apology would be just fine, but we never got one - not even a fake "I'm sorry". At this point, I started looking for other caterers (a few weeks before the wedding), but wasn't able to find anyone in time and went forward. The day of the wedding, unbeknownst to me, Marie called my husband and yelled at him because our plates were not sufficient and "she had a reputation to uphold" and would be using her own plates (which did not match anything). My husband had to call my mother who had to leave the hair salon and get new plates to meet Marie's demands. I'm glad that no one told me until after the wedding, but I was furious that she had yelled at my husband and made my mother leave and get plates. Then it was time for the wedding. While she showed up and brought food, the quality was only average. The service was slow and her staff were constantly in the way. What was most upsetting was when she was serving the cake - she cut slices and then disappeared. Once the pieces ran out, guests were beginning to cut slices for themselves...so, I went to find her. She was in the kitchen eating the remaining cake - which was a significant amount (she had cut slices only off the outside edges, leaving the entire core). I kindly asked her to cut more slices, and she returned several minutes later after she kept eating our cake. I would never, ever recommend her to anyone. My experience was terrible, and almost a year later I feel regret for having hired her. She was the only negative experience of my entire wedding. I don't ever believe a bride should be scolded and treated rudely for asking questions and wanting responses to emails. I never, ever, was met with anything less than kindness and willingness to respond by any other vendor. Marie is terrible - and she will certainley put a damper on your wedding day as well as all of the days you spend leading up to the big day. If you want a professional, easy to work with, kind caterer - Marie is definitely not it.

Marie has catered three huge family events for us (two weddings and a fifty-year anniversary party.) Nothing short of terrific. She's completely accommodating with her menus, punctual with her services, and very personable. She is most easily reached on her phone. You really can't go wrong.

I was at a wedding where these folks did the catering. Simply put I found the people to be unprofessional, rude and somewhat disorganized. The food was just so-so. They should really evaluate their attitudes and try to realize the services they are offering is for a special occasions and that their job effects the days events. Use cautiously!
