Great food, great service, great Maine atmosphere. I had Captain's Platter -plenty of food and lots of clams and scallops not just shrimp. Haddock was perfectly cooked. Diana was our waitress and she kept right up on the table without being too obtrusive or pushy. I have never been disappointed eating here. Wife had land lubbers (steak and chicken) steak was a big looking 6oz compared to other places. Both meats cooked perfectly. Bake potato were great too.

Small restaurant that was probably new in the 70's. Staff too have likely been there for some time. New England diner menu and atmosphere. Staff were prompt and efficient. Food was good and generous for the price. Definitely worth a return trip!

Been a few times and I have always left full. The staff has always been pleasant. The place may be small, but its quaint and cozy. The food is good and at a good price.

One of my favorite spots. The lobster stew is crazy good, and the clearmeat lobster roll was soo good.

Nice little restaurant, homey in a kitschy sort of way. Lovely service. Very good food, especially the lobster roll. Not your fancy highbrow spot. Just simple fare in a family-owned setting.

We happened on this restaurant and it was a great find. The best fried oysters and I am a fan of fried oysters. My husband had delicious fried scallops. The place looks like a fast food joint but inside it is a wonderful restaurant. A must stop if you are in the area.

Disappointed. Service was slow with only 5 other occupied tables. Our server did not seemed interested in the fact I had food allergies so I was very careful ordering. Kept it to a garden salad and grilled salmon, which was good but nothing special. My husband had the fish chowder, which he enjoyed. His Haddock sandwich was not as hot as he would have liked but was still okay. This is definitely a place where the seniors gather and visit.

We stop here everytime we are in town. Not fancy but great food. Lots of locals eat here. Great for families with small kids. Gotta try the lobster pie!

We travel coast to coast and border to border, have ordered fried oysters in dozens of restaurants. Captain Mike's fried oysters are the very best. Everything is very good. Lots of seafood choices.

This is a consistently good and reasonably priced restaurant. The scallops and haddock are always delicious and the meal filling. I appreciate the competent waitresses, and although the decor is pretty kitschy, they do dim the lights at night so it's a relaxing ambiance. Who cares if the clientele is mostly older folks? They are what drive the good food/good value.

For many years every summer I would go here with my clients. The decor is a little outdated but the staff and food is what makes this restaurant a gem!! Their lunch menu is good and well priced, and more than plentiful. Every meal we have had here has been delicious!!! Our favorites include: crabmeat roll, pea soup, shrimp lunch plate, and baked haddock. I highly recommend this diamond in the rough!! The food is always awesome and the staff always courteous and friendly!!!

Not for the younger crowd. Perhaps this is because the two of us arrived on a sunday evening where everyone was over 55. All but one server was under 60. Service was pushy and impatient. If you like instant potatoes, bland food and you want to overpay then Captain Mikes is a perfect match.

A transient crew of 4 sought favorable help choosing a dinner dining location in the Brunswick, ME area. We were seeking both seafood & traditional American dining fare. Yelp's reviews pointed us to Captain Mike's. The ladies were new to fried clams, yet opted for the Captain's Platter, which consisted of fried whole belly clams, fried shrimp, scallops, & haddock. I opted for the lobster & steamer clams dinner while the remaining hubby opted for beef pot roast & mashed potatoes. Three opted for the seafood chowder & one for the clam chowder. The chowder was awesome - flavorful, meaty, & rich. The salads were good, with crisp lettuce & veggie compliments, & good dressing. The Captain's Platters were over-filled with succulent fried clams, shrimp, scallops, & haddock. Both of the ladies became intensely quiet as the chewing began in earnest & the conversation became almost non-existent. I sampled a few whole bellies and also found them to be some of the best I have ever had, which was hard for even me to believe. Neither platter was totally consumed, and styrofoam was required to guide the leftovers from the restaurant. The portions unconsumed were way too substantial to be left behind. Wayne also became quiet upon receiving his beef pot roast, munching quietly & saying "mmmmmmm" a lot. He also mentioned that the meat cut with a fork & not his knife (between mouthfuls). The lobster was delicious as were the steamers, however, I felt cheated after viewing the huge portions of the Captain's Platters. C'mon, a 1 1/4 lb lobster & 15-20 steamers.... good, but sometimes wonder if it is worth the effort to eat? A must stop for the friendly staff (Go Jen!) and the variety as well as the atmosphere and excellent food menu. A must stop for us any time in the area and a good choice for either travellers or locals.

Ignore the 1-star review. You don't write a review based on mashed potatoes. This is a seafood joint and it is fantastic. Excellent lobster rolls. The lobster chowder is great and it all washes down well with Shipyard ale. Eat here now!
