I visited this place for dinner. I had their meat loaf. It was undercooked and I just couldn't eat it. It took an unreasonable amount of time to get my order served. When the waitress brought the food she just dropped it off and disappeared. When she finally came back to leave the check. it was obvious that I hadn't touched the meal, and she asked if I would like a "doggy bag" I told her I wouldn't feed this to my dog. I paid the check for a meal I could not eat. I left and drove up the street to the MacDonalds and ate my dinner there. At least you know what to expect at MacDonalds. Don't waste your money at the Coach House, they do not appreciate your business! I will never go back!

Went here with a party of 6 which included some kids. The setting is decent. Service is OK. However the food really wasn't that good at all. They mixed up our order twice in a row. Also they put potatoes in the egg scrambler when it doesn't indicate this in the menu.

Got their twin lobster special and a beer. This is a homey restaurant. Lobster was a bit tough, maybe slightly overcooked. Would go back again, but only if the Weathervane was closed (like it was the night I went). Weathervane has better lobster and more alcoholic drink options.

Do not order scallops. Ordered then today and tasted like bleach. Brought this to the waitresses attention and she tried to argue they were fresh. Just an FYI fresh scallops are not grey and they do not taste like bleach!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. Microwaved bacon, frozen homefries, Bisquik pancake mix, unseasoned baked beans straight out of the can. They even managed to ruin the fruit cup. And, to top it off, they wouldn't give us our discount for staying at the hotel next door. DISGUSTING food and CRUMMY service.

Probably my most disturbing experience in a restaurant ever was at the Coach House. After our meal my very pregnant wife went to use the rest room. She, being uncomfortably pregnant, came out of the stall to finish adjusting her clothes. As she was pulling her pants the rest of the way up, a male employee suddenly barged in and began to clean the sink, mirrors, etc. There was no "anyone in here?" or any of that. Just went right in. Well, he saw my wife standing there adjusting herself and trying to get her shirt tucked in and never even uttered an excuse me. Just started doing what he came in to do. Needless to say, she came back to the table very disturbed. By first instinct was to slap him silly, but jail is not my favorite place to vacation. We immediately went to the counter to complain. All women at the moment so we surely thought we would find a sympathetic ear. Wrong. They literally couldn't have cared less and all remained silent except for one who halfheartedly said she would look into it. Well, that was two years ago and we have not been back since. We are locals who eat out frequently so they surely lost future business.

Okay it's basically a diner. Cheap decor, cheap service, cheap food. It's a fine place to go for a quick bite to eat if you're in a hurry and/or don't want to spend much cash, but it's nothing special. It's the kind of place where you always see the elderly couple having the senior citizen's special of liver and onions. (Not that there is anything wrong with that per se, it's just not the type of establishment that I prefer to spend my eating out money in). There are dozens of much, much better places to eat within 3 to 5 miles so unless you are basically looking for a small step up from McDonald's both in price and food, I'd definitely recommend looking elsewhere.

I live in Bangor, and have been dining here for over 20 years. The food is always good and the service is usually great. (no one's perfect). I can say that I have seldom been disappointed with what I have ordered - and if its not right, they go to great lengths to make it right. A great place to take family and friends. Enjoy!

I love this restaurant because it's local and the employees are really friendly and want to make sure that your meal is as perfect as it can be. I once got a cheese burger and it was burnt, and before I even said anything, the waitress said 'oh my goodness! That looks a little over done, if you would like I can take that back and fix it'. Breakfast their is definitely one of the best around here.

My wife, daughter and I had dinner, which was pretty good, but the way they apply their 10% senior citizen discount is a TOTAL FRAUD and misrepresentation. My $32.xx bill was discounted to $31.32! When I asked how they figure a little over a dollar is 10% of a nearly $33 bill, they said they only discounted my meal, not my wife's meal (she is 62 years old) or my daughter's, despite my paying the bill. Appealing to the manager proved to be a waste of time. Her stumbling, bumbling attempt to explain it was less than convincing since she had trouble recreating the discount and her sentences conflicted with each other. No satisfaction and an arrogance which was infuriating, especially when the night before we spent almost $15 less eating a flawless much better meal (steak) at the Texas Roadhouse restaurant in Bangor. I don't tolerate liars so I will never eat at Coach House Restaurant again. For what you pay the food is okay but not as good as it should be in this price range.

Hunters Breakfast lived up to its name! Great baked beans, and biscuits were particularly nice and fluffy. Sevice, always spot on. :)

Lots to choose from, good portions and inexpensive! It is your typical family restaurant where you might go because they have something for every one and the prices are excellent. The service was quick, my meat loaf was delicious and I enjoyed the graham cracker pie. Not sure what else to say, except it is convenient to the highways!

A local diner with Maine charm. I'm actually a member of their rewards program and I love eating here; I've never had bad service or poorly made food. I do wish that they would bring back the cold plate!

Dropped in briefly, just for take-out pie. And what a terrific idea it was! Graham cracker pie is not something I'd ever tried, and it was very tasty, albeit quite sweet. The chocolate cream pie is super rich, and we could only have a little bit of it. The coconut cream pie is the real winner here! Just wonderful! Take out service was fast and friendly, and all three pieces of pie were less than $10 together!

Don't be fooled by the ample cars in the lot, they are eating out of habit and "loyalty" cards. This place has gone down hill through the years. Have 20 years of experience here and I have to say I've had the absolutely worst breakfast here. We occasionally go to breakfast to "treat" ourselves. But, The scrambled eggs were a light, light yellow and so watery. They heated up the old home fries from the past day and we're served stone cold. I almost broke a crown with the hard bits that had been microwaved too long. So I paid $5 for two pieces of toast, that the butter wouldn't melt because it was so cold. Sorry, CH, I was a regular, and now I won't tolerate it. We'll stay home next time.

We have been in Brewer, ME for several weeks on a short term travel assignment. We decided to give this restaurant a try as it is adjacent to our hotel. We arrived on March12, 2015 for breakfast around 7am. This was a Thursday morning. There were probably about 10 other patrons in the restaurant at this time. It is a large restaurant with 2 separate dining areas and a eat in bar area with stools. The waitress took our order and I ordered iced tea which I had to send back as it was not fresh brewed but poured out of a bottle. That was okay but being the 'home cooking' type of restaurant they advertise to be I expected fresh brewed tea. That aside, we placed our order for 2 veggie omelletes with home fries. Our order arrived in around 7-8 minutes which I couldn't imagine our food was able to have been prepared in such a fast manner. I was right. The omelletes had obviously been siting under a lamp or just stayed on a grill as they were barely warm and the egg had turned brown and they were rubbery. The potatoes were cold and mushy and tasted of freezer burn. When the waitress dropped off our plates, she literally DROPPED them in front of us and ran off. Literally. We looked at each other and I was stunned. No bother to ask ' is there anything I can get for you?' I needed salsa and hot sauce so we waited a few minutes and no one came back around so I got up and walked around until I found another waitress and told her what we needed. She brought the items and that is when we realized how cold and old the food was and when she walked by again, I asked her if we could substitute something else for the potatoes and she wouldn't even stop for me to ask her and she turned around and said ' I'm busy, I don't have time to talk to you!' We were stunned. Again. That was it. We got up and found our waitress(who informed us she was the manager) and told her what happened and she didn't seem to care. We left. I have never and yes I mean never, been treated so poorly at a restaurant. We have been traveling the states for over a year and I do understand when places are busy but I will never understand or accept flat out rudeness. we were warned by the help reviews of horrible service and next time we will definitely listen to those reviews and drive further to enjoy a decent meal and to be treated with simple manners and courtesy.

Had lunch with family today. Although I'd eaten here before, it'd been a few years. Fish & chips were a tasty option for a crisp autumn day. The toll house pie, however, stole the show. What a killer dessert! Solid down-home cooked food just a hop, skip & a jump from Bangor...

A regular stop when in Maine. Very comfortable and cheap. I love their blueberry pie.

Visiting the area with my girlfriends around Mother's Day and decided to have breakfast at The Coach House on our way out of town. Being Mother's Day, they were pretty packed but seated us very quickly. Our waitress Margo was at our table instantly to get our drink order, she was very friendly and it was clear this wasn't her first day, she was great! I got the cinnamon roll French toast with 2 scrambled and bacon. The French toast was really good, eggs were perfect (as you would expect from a breakfast place) and the bacon was nice and crispy, not greasy. One of my friends got the Greek omelet, it looked really good, feta cheese, fresh tomatoes and fresh spinach. They also bake their own bread, which looked amazing. As we were finishing I noticed a waitress being trained, her trainer went out of her way to move an empty table aside to pick up food that had been dropped on the floor, that was impressive, so many people will just walk by something and wait for the next person to do it. It was nice to see that extra effort. I gave 5 stars because I really could not find any fault in my experience.

Eh just eh.. service was horrible. Waitress didn't even see us for 10 min and asked for oj for my son.. and the other waitress didn't want to even acknowledge we were there.. will never go back..
