Every once in a while I come across a higher rated yelp restaurant where I don't seem to agree with the crowd. I had the mexican omelet and was not impressed. It was advertised as sausage, onions, peppers, and jack cheese. What i received was an over cooked omlet with alot of sausage and almost no onions or peppers. Remeber "Where's the beef?" Well, this was "Where's the cheese?". I also paid $1.5 extra for the homemade wheat toast. (two slices). It was nothing to write home about and wasn't as good as what I get from the local grocery. Many folks that order wheat are doing so as a healthier alternative. This came soaked in butter. Soaked as in squeeze the bread a bit and it drips off. The potatoes were the best thing on the plate - hot and nicely seasoned. Food: C Service : B Price :B Atmosphere: B

The food was great, the staff was super friendly, and some really interesting breakfast combinations! (strawberry and pistachio pancakes!) We had the hash, home fries, raspberry croissant french toast and sausage. The coffee was also delicious. I would give 4.5 stars if I could, but since the service is good but not great( refilled my coffee but not my partners, even though they were right next to each other) and the cash only bit makes it 4.

Sorry, I had to do it. I just hated this place. The breakfast we had was not good and the waitress was rude. I make better pancakes and mine are really bad. The atmosphere was pleasant I suppose but the food and service fail.

Absolute best place I have ever gone for breakfast. When I think of great places to eat breakfast this one beats all 3 of my other 5 star breakfast picks (Sneakers in Burlington, VT, Wooden Spoon in Somersworth, NH and Eggspectaions in South Portland, ME). Great atmosphere, awesome specials menu and some of the most friendly people you've ever met. A little on the small side, but worth the wait! Try the waffles, try the omelets, try the pancakes... you really can't go wrong. Damn I gotta get out and get some breakfast tomorrow morning.

Despite the friendly service, I found the food to be rather dull. I ordered the Hash Benedict, which was a really cool sounding special. The waiter was gracious enough when I sent it back to have them cook the egg whites (runny egg whites=gross). The hash was homemade and looked promising. Unfortunately, it was flavorless, as was the tiny amount of sauce on the eggs. The English Muffins were soggy beyond recognition. My brunch-mate had the blueberry french toast which was fine (you can't really mess up bread, blueberries, syrup, and whipped cream). Based on the less than mediocre food, small menu, no alcohol, and CASH ONLY status, I would definitely not recommend the place for brunch.

So, this place is pretty good, it gets really loud which kind of sucks, and they are cash only, which kind of sucks too. My lemon and blueberry and cream cheese french toast was very tasty, and my party of 8 all enjoyed their food. Service was a bit sloppy across the board, but I think we might come back here.

We went here today. My wife had pancakes and I had an omelette from the specials board. Excellent food and first-rate service. Much bigger inside than it looks. Great specials!! Not your ordinary bacon and eggs breakfast. They have that to as well.

Showed up on Google when my boyfriend and I were driving home and searching for a place to get breakfast. Staff was super friendly and the food was awesome. Very attentive to make sure that we were happy with the food. Everything seemed really fresh. Their homemade oatmeal bread is definitely worth the extra ~$1.

When it's time to "find me some breakfast," this is my number one choice. I moved to the Biddeford area about a year ago, and one of my first ventures was to find a good breakfast spot. I was disappointed to discover that the pickings were slim. Until I discovered Cole Rd thanks to a friend. Wonderful atmosphere, giant mugs of coffee, excellent servers, fantastic food. Particularly the specials. I never know what to order - everything sounds fantastic. And upon ordering, it IS fantastic. Remember to grab cash before you come, as they don't take credit. But that's not a reason to complain. Try coming on a weekday (closed Mondays). The crowds are down and the hostess, servers, and cooks all have stories and playful attitudes to share. They've become a refuge in this crazy world.

I really need to update this review. I loved the Cole Road Cafe a few years ago but it's changed hands. It's not bad - Yelp's official definition of 3 stars is "A-OK" and that's about right. The specials aren't as creative as they used to be and the place isn't as much fun as it was. The woman who is either the new owner or manager is nice enough and she tries hard, but the spark isn't there any more. The food is okay, the restaurant is clean, service is okay, and the coffee is absolutely miserable. They've gone cash only, which is a negative but not a deal breaker. And I saved this for last because I don't hold it against the restaurant. There's a family with noisy horrible kids that shows up in the back room on Sunday mornings, and they make it totally unsuitable for adults who might actually want to have a conversation like they were in a restaurant. Avoid this room on Sundays if you're looking for a peaceful breakfast or just hung over. Conversely, this room might just be the place you want to go if you've got your own badly behaved children and you're not at all embarrassed by the fact that your little angels have no clue about how to behave in public. Back to the Cole Road Cafe. It's not that the place has gone downhill and it's not a dump, it's just not so awesome any more. It's the breakfast place that's closest to home for me so it's the obvious stop for us, but I think that most of the time I'll get in the car and go somewhere that's better than just average.

Cole Road Cafe is the kind of place you'll want to go back to time and time again. If you like to enjoy good food, friendly service, and casual dinning for a great price, you'll love Cole Road. Thier specials board is new every day and the owner does a great job keeping the recipes innovative and exciting. When you sit down, there is alway the great smell of coffee brewing and the sound of friendly chatter. Thier mismatched plates and coffee mugs make you feel right at home. I've been going for years with my whole family and they love it too. So stop on by and give it try. It might be you're first time but it won't be your last. Oh yea, I forgot to mention that it's " cash only". ENJOY !!

After reading the stellar reviews and hearing good things from a coworker of mine I had really high hopes for this place. For a basic review I can say this: Service- A Atmosphere - A- Food quality - B+ Food quantity - C+ When we walked in we were greeted by a very friendly hostess who seated us promptly. Most of the tables/booths were filled except one, but no one was eating at the counter... so all in all a packed house. Then seconds later we were greeted by a friendly waitress who got us drinks. I got a giant mug (the kind you have home which made me happy) of coffee. One down side, I like my coffee with skim milk.. but they only have whole so I settled with the half and half on the table. My cousin was pretty indecisive when it came down to ordering. There were so many different and interesting breakfast selections so we had to ask the waitress to come back at least twice. My cousin ordered the cinnamon hazelnut belgian waffle with strawberries and whipped cream. I ordered the hash benedict. It was nice that the waitress asked me how I liked my eggs poached. I said on the softer side. The time between ordering and food coming out was perfect. Not too long, not too quick to think it wasn't fresh. The food came out, and instant thought was.. I was underwhelmed with the portion size for both my plate and my cousin. When I think belgian waffle, I think of this 1.5 - 2 inch tall golden brown and crispy concoction covered with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. The waffle was maybe 3/4 of an inch... not consistently golden brown and it was topped with frozen/canned strawberries. Nonetheless, I got to taste the waffle anyway, it was only a bite but even with the single bite yes, I could taste the cinnamon, but I detected no hint of hazelnut and my piece of waffle was NOT crispy. I asked my cousin after if the waffle was crispy and I just got an off piece. No, it was crispy some places and soggy other places which means the waffle just was not cooked long enough. Though overall tasty, the waffle would have been better for $7. My hash benedict was good, but not great. First, I've gotten bennys from a lot of places, and this is the first time I've gotten a benny where the english muffin was much larger than the eggs (the english muffins are standard size). Maybe they did not use jumbo/extra large eggs but for an eggs benny, you should. I was underwhelmed with how small the egg was. Maybe they trimmed the egg for presentation... but if it was trimmed, it was trimmed too much! There was not much egg. But i can say the egg was poached to how I requested. The hash was tasty, and house made. The hollandaise was an oversight. Did not really taste like much, could have used more lemon juice. It was sprinkled with... dry chives or something which was not necessary. I figure if you do not have fresh herbs on hand to contrast the yellow hollandaise then just omitt it completely is what I think. Oh well. There was maybe 3/4 cup of home fries, but the seasoning was okay. But for 9.95... portions either the egg... the hash... the homefries should have been more. Overall, I would come back because I found the breakfast menu interesting. I loved the service, my coffee cup was never empty, the atmosphere is a place I would want to visit again. But little things kinda confused me. We were given the check but we were not offered dessert even though I heard our waitress offer dessert to other tables. Oh well, I still asked for the lemon pie. The waitress gladly went to go get it, she came back saying they were sold out. She was in the back of the kitchen and the cook was eating the last slice. The waitress's excuse was the kitchen was closed 30 minutes ago... 30 minutes ago? When we left it was only 1:45, maybe 2 o'clock. you're telling me you close your kitchen when lunch time is still in progress? I digress. Alas, I'd come back here but... other items since the waffle was kind of meh, and the hash benedict was a moderate let down.

It was good but nowhere near the quality of the reviews I read to lead me here. Undertoasted english muffin, broken poached eggs and thin hollandaise sause on my 'eggs benedict'; nearly ground and overly salted 'homemade corned beef'; homefries were ordinary and close to being equal to store bought, frozen homefries. The staff was very nice, however.

I've had better, the french toast was just eh but the bacon and homefries were good. The place was cute and busy. I'd probably go back if I was in the area as there didn't seem to be much around breakfast wise. But I also thought the price was a little high for breakfast. 30 bucks for two people?!

This place has excellent breakfast and outstanding service! The portions are good sized, with decent sized cups of coffee and juice. The specials are always very interesting, including a spinach eggs benedict that was quite tasty. Only downside is they do not accept credit cards, and the prices are just a tiny bit higher than you might see at other places. However, I feel that stopping at the ATM is well worth the trouble!

Excellent food. Hash is amazing and real homemade. Three berry buttermilk pancakes were just right. Pumpkin pecan muffin, yumm. Service prompt friendly and fun. Bottom line: go there.
