For Chinese food in Bethel, Maine this is as good as it gets. The restaurant itself is what you would expect with your typical family Chinese restaurant. Pictures of food on the walls, a little bit dark and dated. Very clean. Service is attentive but defiantly not over the top. Simply "good enough". Food is not bad. Not great either. I have not had a wide variety of plates but have yet to been disappointed. Certainly not gourmet food but I was not expecting it walking in here. Bottom line is it's nothing great but if you want Chinese food in Bethel, Maine this is your place. Not nearly as bad as the other customers say.

My favorite Chinese food spot :-) staff are great, food is well worth the price. they even converted my father (strictly a meat&potatoes kind of guy) into a lover of Chinese food. their food is the standard by which we compare any other Chinese food

Was in the area and hungry for spicy food. This place in the middle of nowhere saved my days...Food was not bad at all...and I got spicy food as I wanted.... This is the only asian food in the area anyway, just in case you did not know...so bother driving around looking for different place.

Tried for takeout based on reviews. Wish we hadn't. Mostly inedible, we threw away more than we tasted. Weird off taste throughout, some items clearly had been around the kitchen for awhile. Mostly inedible pu pu items, lo mein. Garlic steak and chop suey freshER but just barely. Egg roll disgusting wad of wallpaper paste. Do not bother.

I contemplated for a long time before giving this place 1 star. This is THE only Chinese restaurant within 30 mile radius... so it could have been 5 stars just because its the best and the worst Chinese place... but I thought about it more... the roast pork tasted like cardboard soaked in honey and the general tsaos chicken had batter thicker than a dry wall... the fried rice was worse than my first attempt at cooking years ago... and the tables were as sticky as superglue... 1 star no doubt!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
