This is a standard franchise; nothing special other than a good view. The restaurant had reasonable prices but quite poor service. The haddock wasn't well prepared and the portion was small. Prime rib? It was a grilled steak; actually excellent but not what I ordered. We arrived here at the end of June on a miserable rainy day. The rate of $130 for this time of year did not seem to be consistent with rates in other parts of Maine for this time of year. Overall, the hotel and restaurant were not a good value for money unless you have to find a room at this time of year and this is your only choice. There was an interesting restaurant right down the road but I can't recall the name. We went there for a cocktail. I wish we had stayed for dinner.

The staff at this restaurant was incredibly gracious and patient with my family, arriving at 8:45 on a Wednesday night (they close at 9) after we'd been at a funeral. The waitresses, hostesses and cooks must have been exhausted, but they still gave our family excellent service and did a nice job balancing attending to us and respecting our needs, having just come from the services. They were also very accommodating with the mix of credit cards and cash we used to cover our bill, not batting an eye at our bizarre division of the check. Comfort Inn should be pleased to have such excellent staff in their Belfast hotel and restaurant.

Came in tonight after the front desk at the hotel raved about the new chef. I had a cup of clam chowder that was excellent, and main course of Prime Rib, which was seasoned nicely and was cooked perfectly. I went in thinking I'd rate it as a normal restaurant, not pulling any punches, even though it was 'hotel food', and was definitely impressed. Their selection of wines from the chef are also great. I was really floored and will definitely eat there again. Great staff! Rob

The Comfort Inn's, Ocean's Edge Restaurant hosted a new special Thanksgiving dinner buffet. T'was excellent! _Starting off with a traditional turkey, roasted pork loin, garlic mash potatoes, green beans, roasted carrots, cranberry stuffing, corn bread and fresh cranberry sauce. _For dessert, mini blueberry torts, apple pie and pumpkin pie with a fresh whipped cream _Packed with happy customers _No work cooking and clean up at home! If my daughter and I were not staying at the hotel that houses this establishment we might not have been so pleased. However, compared to the local tourist trap restaurants it was decent. Nice bar with great bartender. Sampled several wines and few were any good, but ask the bartender what you like and he will give good advice. We had excellent walnut Gorgonzola salads. I have a lot of food allergies so some menus present a problem. However, the very kind people here (as you find throughout Maine) gracefully accepted my request for a custom made dish. I was quite pleased! If you would prefer not to spend as much money as the pricey trendy restaurant quite close by, you should be pleased at Ocean's Edge.

This place is part of a Comfort Inn which is less than an okay no-tell motel. If I was rating on service I would rate 4-5 but I had the grilled haddock and is was so fishy I could only tolerate to swallow a few bites. They did comp the dinner but it was disappointing since I 'thought' I was in seafood country. It has a full bar but the wine selection is minimal and cheap. The area does not lend to great restaurants as it does not have many visitors during cold months. Nice view in the warmer months.
