Are there for lunch..it was okay but not amazing..there just wasn't a huge amount of meat on my sandwich and it wasn't particularly cheap. I don't mind paying for a great meal but I felt it just fell short.

Lunch with the family, 1 yr old and 3 yr old. Excellent service, food was perfect and came out quickly. Had the stout and allagash white, beer was fresh and lines clean. Fourth time here, beef brisket is excellent!!!

Was traveling in the Great State of Maine today and almost literally tripped on the Beale Street BBQ. Had 60 min to burn and was driving aimlessly on lovely Downtown Bath, Maine. This place has an open dining area with 10 tables or so, very intimate. Lunch crowd was 6 folks (locals I'm guessing who work at the Boat Yard is my guess) and the atmosphere was filled with Blues and County/Western music (heavy on the Willie Nelson for sure). I settled on an Arnold Palmer (mixed/shaken at the bar) and the Mac N Cheese with Sliced Beef Brisket ($18.00). It came out piping hot and LOADED with tender brisket! With a side of slaw and two pcs of House Garlic Bread, this lunch was filling and tasty. I only wish I remembered to snap a pic of the meal before I devoured it! If I ever return to Bath, I'm coming back for sure!

Came here for lunch on a work day. We got sat quickly and ordered drinks. Service was very quick and friendly. Ordered the jerk pork sandwich, which came with a warning that it was VERY SPICY. Even the waitress gave me a verbal warning that this sandwich was VERY SPICY! I like spice so I was excited to try it. Food came out in record time, I might even be daring enough to say, faster than a fast food place. I could smell the spices coming off my sandwich and my mouth was watering. I picked it up and took my first bite. Spicy? Yes. Enough to justify warnings? Not in my opinion. But again I like spicy food. As I ate my lunch the service continued to be fast and refills came very fast, which makes me happy. Overall, great place for BBQ, which seems hard to find in Maine.

At our most recent visit to Beale Street I ordered a smoked teriyaki rib special that was absolutely wonderful. My wife ate half of my ribs and we took another order home for later. Another home run for those guys. Their regular menu has several selections that I know will be good, my favorite being the smoked sausage platter. And they always have something interesting and delicious on special. Their staff is always courteous and the food comes quickly. We love Beale Street.

This is a pretty good BBQ joint with a nice beer selection. The ribs were very good nice smoke ring and moist side were nice as well (Beans& Slaw) Wife had the beef brisket and said it was good we also had smoked wings which was a special that day they were excellent. I guess my only issue was the bbq sauce which was very sweet and they only had one sauce. Service i thought also was a little slow but it was pretty busy.

The place is clean and comfortable place to eat. Quick for lunch. The waiter was very friendly and caught a mistake in the meal before I noticed and corrected it. The Pineapple BBQ chicken sandwich was good but putting the house sauce on it made it amazing. Collards were plain and lacked flavor and needed salt. May try this place again but word of mouth was try it once and that's all you need.

Shrimp Jambalaya was really good as was the cornbread. However beef brisket and pulled pork were fatty.

Visiting Bath (husband on biz trip) I often ask locals where to go for meals. Beale Street was suggested by a shop owner so away we went to try BBQ in Maine. Very friendly staff greeted & seated us. Menu looked interesting - 1st night Key West Salad w/blackened chicken for me (side of jerk sauce which is delectable & sneaks up on you with its heat was perfect accompaniment); husband had the blackened chicken wrap & very delicious fries! Not really BBQ but our dinner was excellent & husbands' Shipyard Monkey Fist IPA was satiatingly satisfying. Walking around Bath the next night we again (almost never go back 2 times in a row...) were driven by our noses, like scent hounds, to this time try the BBQ. Husband had the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw & alas I had the lime chicken sandwich w/Habenero Mayo & fries. Husband devoured ALL of his sandwich - plate looked to be licked clean. My sandwich was delish but I wish the Hab Mayo had been spicy hot (I know we're in Maine & I come from & am used to super hot spicy foods). Really friendly service, cozy place, super good food and affordable.

A buddy and I stopped en route south to Boston. Saturday afternoon and the service was quick. Ribs, very small St. Louis style were overcooked. A bit dry with a nice bark, they lacked juicy meatiness. Obvious pinkness from smoking did not present a spectacular rib. Pulled pork was also dry. Decent coleslaw and excellent cheesy macaroni. A small place under route 1. Nice service, decent beer. Not worth a second visit.

Having now tried a few other BBQ places in the area I have to say this is still my favorite. Went here again recently. The pork was almost free of any fat and was fall apart done with a delicious smoky flavor. I used the house sauce but they have many others u can use. The smell of the place alone will make you hungry. The cornbread is absolutely delicious and isn't too sweet. The coleslaw is crisp and has a delicate tangy flavor that is a great compliment to the pork. The fries are yummy and have a slightly spicy seasoning that is out of this world! The atmosphere is cozy casual with booths that are great for private conversation. It would be a great place for a date or meeting or a small group gathering. This is my favorite bbq in the area!

Mediocre. Cornbread was seriously dry. The pulled pork edible, but the sauce was cloyingly sweet. The mac and cheese was horrendous, made with neon-bright orange cheese whiz. The collards were okay, but the tiny portion made little impression. Service is fine. No one should eat barbecue in Maine anyway, so my bad for taking the other reviews seriously. This wouldn't last a day in a town with real cue. Avoid.

Yeah you're in Maine and yeah this BBQ is for real. No really, Beale Street freakin' rocks. Been coming here for years and years and have never been disappointed. Great pulled pork, great sides, great ribs, great caesar salad, great beer selection, great great, great, great, gre, ate, etc. I braved the jerk chicken and can confirm it is fiery and painful-- but I'm into that. Basically the best place to eat in Bath.

Yes good BBQ in Maine. For best of Bath I pick this and Solo Bistro for good eats. The cheese curds with honey mustard are the bomb. Start with this as an appetizer and ribs ,pulled pork and half chicken for your Maine course. For two of course. Finish off with a Russian lemonade. You used to be able to buy a bottle of their delicious BBQ sauce, but I think they stopped. It's that good. Too bad. Now you're ready for the 4th of July! Enjoy!

Took the chance to have a bite here. The food was well prepared and tasty. The service was attentive. We had ribs, smoked sausage, and a quesadilla. 4* based on this type of casual restaurant.

Awesome service, awesome prices, great food. Our party got the range: sausage platter, brisket, barbecue sampler, pan-fried fish, pan-blackened fish. Everything was excellent, but I think the brisket was the winner here.

Tender MEATY Ribs that are lean and flavorful. Sauce on the side if you want to apply it, but from my experience, it is not necessary. Roasted Chicken - skin somewhat crispy if you like to eat it, which I do! But it is easy to remove if you are trying to be "good". French fries are crisp on the outside with a light flavoring and a creamy center perfectly cooked. Try them before you drown in ketchup, unless you like Ketchup more than french fries. Mac and Cheese simple and not HEAVY, a delicious side and for some reason, I felt that it seemed to get better as it cooled. Brisket is delicious! Honestly, I find all of the selections delicious even the sausage. Great local brew on tap..ALLAGASH WHITE! YAY! Service is always pleasant. If you have room for the homemade dessert, try it, they are usually very tasty.

Beagle street stood strong as a fore runner in the relatively short list of restaurants in Bath to check out during my brief visit to the City of Ships, mainly due to it being a Monday and all the places I initially sought after where closed (Best Thai and Solo Bistro which both where recommended by locals). It's past 5 o'clock and god damn it I'm hungry, I havnt aten all day. So the place is clean, nothing fancy, there's some Elvis memorabilia on the walls... don't get the connection there but who gives a shit, really. I order the seafood and smoked sausage jambalaya and although it didn't really blow my face off I thought it was good overall. The dish was enough to fill my impoverished belly, plenty of shrimp and sausage, a nice little garnish of chives and shrimp; I'm leaving happy that I stopped in. I'm giving this place the most shining 3 stars in the galaxy.

This deserves 4 stars considering it is all the way up in Maine. Really great, rather unique BBQ joint with a good selection of the classics. In addition, they have a great beer selection.

I spent a few months in Memphis and when I saw the name, I couldn't resist dropping my the Beale Street Barbeque for lunch. I had a pulled pork sandwich and mac & cheese. The pulled pork was excellent though I would have been okay with a little more meat on the sandwich. And the mac & cheese was okay, though I wish they had used a more flavorful cheese. While I was finishing my lunch, a massive horrible storm appeared outside and I did the only thing that made sense under the circumstances. I asked what they had for dessert because I wasn't going out there until the storm passed. I'm pleased to report that the key lime pie was delicious and by the time I finished it, the storm was gone and the sun was out. Weird weather but good food in beautiful Bath, Maine.

We knew we'd be eating a lot of fish on this trip so we thought we'd give some Maine BBQ a try. Good stuff! I gad the brisket, the husband had pork. Nice smoke on the meat and good cornbread, too. Great sauce...nice balance between vinegar and sweet. I'm not an expert on BBQ but we were impressed by what was offered.

I can't get enough of Beale Street. I could live on their pulled pork, but occasionally venture out and have their chicken or their ribs or sausage. Every meat I have had is very tasty. Being a fan of the sweeter barbeque styles, it took a little getting used to the Memphis style, and I miss their glass containers of their own sauce. Over the years we have taken numerous visitors there. When they come back, they always ask to go to Beale Street again. And yes, it is very nice to have a cool place that isn't seafood. Love the ambiance but the music can be a little loud. My husband thinks their beers are top notch, and they make a very generous mixed drink. I love their new wine glasses too. Who wants stemware when they are up to their elbows in sauce? Service is generally great. They are a cut above the tired staff at some of the other restaurants in town. So why 4 stars instead of 5? Other than their fries and cornbread, their sides are marginal at best. Try to find something remotely healthy. Not gonna happen. So for a buck I substitute their Key West Salad which is the exact salad we ate 30 years ago and thought was groovy then, but is a little dated now. Also, the ribs are generally great, but we have had some that aren't so wonderful. But the cornbread is heaven. I save it for the end, ask for honey, and have the perfect dessert. Barbeque in Bath, Maine? Yes, don't miss it.

Great food! The chicken quesadilla I had was amazing. Definitely had to use a fork and knife though but the flavor made up for the slight messiness of the dish. My boyfriend had the ribs and picked them clean. Good service as well and kid friendly. Music was blasting, maybe a little too loud but personally I didn't mind.

Full disclosure: I was a waiter here about a decade ago (about 2002-2003) but currently have no contact with the company aside from being a customer. It's an interesting perspective coming back to review a place I ate at 5 days a week so long ago. At the time I had dropped out of college and was earning money to return. The ownership and management were all friendly and quite good at training a newbie to the industry. The greatest thing I noticed was the dedication to the 'Q'. Like clockwork (literally) they rotated their ribs, chicken & sausage into the great big hardwood smoker that sat outside the kitchen and regularly brought curious customers in with it's scent. The food was terrific then and is terrific now. I have never tasted BBQ down south, I must admit, and so I cannot compare it to the almost mythical prowess of true Texas brisket or the epic pig in the bible belt but this BBQ stands on it's own as a fantastic experience. I am a traditionalist with this place so I do feel that the expanded menu has become a bit convoluted when it comes to side dishes and non-bbq offerings (that said, they are very good). Only very rarely will you have a bad experience with the BBQ, the cole slaw, the french fries, the beans and the cornbread. That's it. That's all you need. Sure the jambalaya is really quite delicious and the blackened chicken wrap may be the best I've had (and my wife swears by the mac & cheese side) but these are not why I keep returning. For your first few outings keep it simple. Get the 'Q'.

Was vacationing in nearby Georgetown and was craving BBQ, so checked this place out. Was a little skeptical of there being a good BBQ joint in Maine, but I was completely blown away. The atmosphere is cool, with rock playing and a vintage decor. The food was really good. I got the chicken and sausage jambalaya, which was fantastic. Jambalaya can be really hit or miss with some places making it too greasy or just not flavorful, but Beale St. did it just right. Great roux, plenty of meat. I'm looking forward to going back and trying the pulled pork our brisket next time. Definitely check this place out.

When I moved to Bath, I was anxious about the local BBQ place--having come from central Virginia, where great examples of both Virginia and North Carolina pork can be found by the dozen. I was excited about having a local 'cue joint, but weary of its quality. Our first trip was okay. Maybe it was my anxiety kicking in--or just being overly protective of my sense of 'good' bbq, but the pulled pork I got was cool and dry. Nothing particularly outstanding. But then we ventured there again--and had a completely different experience. The pork was moist, smoky, flavorul, topped with a sweet sauce. And then we went again--and repeated another great meal. And again. Again. I'm now a fan--though I wouldn't call it the most excellent pork I've ever had (I'll save that for the now out-of-commission Georgia Pig in Brunswick, GA). I'm fan because the service and food are consistent, the sausage is to die for, and the atmosphere is welcoming. Glad I have Beale Street Barbecue in town!

We have been to Beale Street a few times now and it seems like each time something about the meal isn't very good or dissapointing. On our last visit I ordered the fish and chips, it was barely warm, my kids got hot dogs and they were room temperature (my kids didn't seem to care) and my wife ordered a burrito that had sweet potatoes in it and a side of roasted sweet potatoes that when served was a pile of mashed sweet potatoes wrapped in a tortilla next to a pile of mashed sweet potatoes (not roasted). I think we're done trying. ..

Visited Beale BBQ this labor day weekend. Went in for take out and they had only three racks of ribs left and they wouldn't sell us any as they were holding them for in restaurant patrons. Not sure why take out patrons are treated differently...anyway we got the chicken with mac and cheese and brisket with coleslaw. The chicken was good, brisket was way below average and the mac and cheese was ok, cole slaw was good. Overall not really that good. People were nice and the atmosphere was good. I am a transplant Texan to New England so I have real BBQ experience.

I visited Beale's on 10/19 and with the exception of our waiter, who was very polite, the food service was mediocre and the ribs were nothing to rave about - I must say though that the baked beans were not bad. Everything else about our experience went down hill after ordering our drinks. First off, we are a family who loves to eat so we spend on good food. However, when the appetizers and the main course all come out at the same time and then the cup of soup followed after all that, (soup was sent back), there was no room to pace or casually enjoy our meal; there was barely space on the table for all of the plates. I ordered the ribs and brisket and got a plate of dry ribs only. When I told them about the mixup, the most unpleasant manager came to our table, never apologized for the series of unpleasantness, and basically took, $1.00 off of the meal, hence the cost of 1/2 rack of ribs. I never expected a free meal for the mixup; however, an apology along with the lame attempt to fix it would have been nice - he just did not care. There was talk that the Sunday chef was new and there were some growing pains - I don't know. If you do go, find out when the regular chef is there before you go. My family of five will not be going back.

Recently made my first trip to Beale St. Had ribs, chicken, mac & cheese, BBQ beans, and cornbread. Ribs were fantastic, cornbread was awesome. The rest was ok - mac & cheese, BBQ beans were 'fine.' Not bad, not great. I can't rate the chicken much as I was too full to eat it. Will probably return for more ribs!

Best BBQ in the state of Maine. That probably doesn't sound too impressive and your right. It's not. Nonetheless, this place knows how to do BBQ. In regards to recommendations, my go to is the pulled chicken or pork over the homemade jalapeno corn bread with mac and cheese and seasoned fries. Its never does me wrong.

We stopped by the Beale Street BBQ restaurant for dinner this evening. We were drawn here by the promise of good BBQ. I had the brisket on corn bread with coleslaw and sweet potatoes. Was delicious! If that wasn't enough I had the "Terminators" for dessert. Not too sweet with great smooth texture--wonderful. Definately recommend this place for a tasty and casual dining experience.

Pulled pork plate with french fries and cole slaw = yum. The cornbread is a bit sweet and I like it that way.... and their cole slaw isn't too mayo-y and has a nice tang to it... plus their BBQ sauce is yummy! What more could you want??

The good: awesome pulled pork, corn bread and mashed tato's The bad: mac&cheese and service I was so looking forward to the Mac&cheese, I mean they do prominently list it on their menu a few different ways. I thought I would be blown away, nope...nadda...mushy with no taste. Took one bite and stopped, why waste the carb calories on mush? You can tell they get a majority of their business from tourist, they are not accomodating with menu adjustments at all. Sure we can swap our bun for corn bread....for more money....huh? this other part of the menu says you have a choice of bun or corn bread.... If I lived here I would probably come here for a quick bite, not lingering and definitely skipping the mac&cheese-maybe it was an off day, but yuck.

Yes, I'd say this is as good as it gets for BBQ around here. It's our local favorite place to eat. Pulled pork and blackened fish are two dishes that we gravitate to, but many others are delicious too. They're very good about substitutions and choice of sides. The atmosphere is great with nice picture on the walls of blues artists, funny mobiles of Elvis and blues music. Waitstaff is experienced, service very good.

I really liked this place. The inside was a lot "hipper" than I was expecting from its outside appearance. The service was excellent. They have several micro-brews on tap and our waitress suggested something that suited my taste buds nicely. The food was yummy, the portions filling without being ridiculously overfed and the prices very reasonable. Will definitely return when in the area again.

When I walked into Beale Street Barbecue with my friend, it had a lot of people waiting in line. I heard the is restaurant from my close friend. She said this restaurant has really delicious food and I should try it. The atmosphere was so warm. The light was kind of romantic. Everyone seemed so satisfied when they left. The restaurant is all about meat such as beef and fish. I ordered Fish&Chips which was really delicious. The waiter who served us was very friendly. He asked guests if we need any help. The food I ordered in the restaurant was not expansive. Two people can cost not more than 30 dollars. Thus, I think the food of this barbecue restaurant is really economic for people to have a try there. This experience for me is very enjoyable. This is one of my favorite BBQ restaurant in America. I really like it!

I grew up in Bath, but have since moved many hundreds of miles away. Every time I go home, I make it a point to visit Beale St. You can usually find me there around the major holidays. The BBQ is fantastic, the service is friendly, the beers are local, and I invariably run into someone I know. But Beale Street isn't just great barbecue and friendly locals. When I think Maine, I think seafood, and Beale St doesn't disappoint in that department. There's a solid selection of ocean-born goodness on the regular menu and invariably a creative special or two chalked up on the board. I recommend starting out with the crab cakes, pulled-pork platter for your entree, coleslaw and BBQ beans for your sides, served on the jalapeno cornbread.

I love this place!! I LOVE barbeque, and this is the best BBQ place that I have been to in Maine. My boyfriend and I drive all the way to Bath from Cape Elizabeth to eat here. The Russian Lemonades with fresh squeezed lemon juice and raspberry vodka are delicious!! There is a half of a lemon floating in it :) The BBQ sauce is the BEST and the pulled pork platter is literally one of my favorite meals I have eaten ever. I get it with cole slaw and collard greens but I have had the mashed potatoes and the mac and cheese here as well and all are great!! The cornbread is exceptional... which is saying something because at a lot of BBQ places the cornbread is either too crumbly or too hard, but at Beale Street it is moist and flavorful. Great friendly service too, and VERY fast!! I can't say enough about this place!!! My boyfriend almost cried when it left Portland... PLEASE come back to the Portland area!!!!

The smell of this place from the parking lot makes your mouth water. The smell of this place once your inside makes you drool. Unfortunately, the food was good, but it didn't live up to its smell. They bottle their own BBQ sauce which was sweet with a little heat on the end. I had their pulled chicken platter with cornbread, "delicious french fires" and greens. The chicken was really juicy, but there wasn't a lot of it on my plate. The sides were good, but if you go out on the limb to say you have "delicious" french fries, you have to back it up. They tasted like any other fries with a bit of seasoning on them. Jeff had the BBQ meat mac and cheese. This was good, but they need to take it to the next level. Bake the BBQ meat in the mac and cheese and it would be a 5 star dish.

OK, so I've been spoiled by real South Carolina BBQ where ya get almost a full side of beef - and drag your belly back to the car hours later. Well, this isn't it. But then again, this is Bath Maine - in winter- they probably have to chip the beef out of ice to cook it. The smell on the street while driving up is to die for. The smoker sits right outside by the parking lot and you can feel the heat and smell the BBQ. I loved the brisket - buttery, melt in your mouth BBQ taste...but not enough meat for the price. Keep the rolls and other carbs - give me the BBQ - if I want bread and beans, Im not bashful, I'll ask for it. So, other than portion size - decent food for the north country and RENY's shares the same parking lot so you dash in and pick up some shopping bargains in the same trip.

My husband and I are chilling out in Bath, ME on a little vacation away from life as we know it in SW Florida. The night before we traveled here one of our patrons recommended Beale's BBQ as a "must try" for foodies like us, (we own a little French bistro)! I am a southerner and my husband is French and we were both totally blown away by the rich flavors, the creativity and plain ole great tasting BBQ. He had the Texas brisket special....unbelievable ah ha kind of dish, I went with pulled pork on that wonderful jalapeño cornbread!!!! We were truly in hog heaven, thanks so much!

Very good pulled chicken sandwich but roll, while good, detracts a little from the greatness of the chicken. Also got the baked beans (no meat) and goat cheese salad. Both were good but not overly spectacular. For $30, my husband and I each got sandwiches and appetizers (chili and salad).

Delicious! Thank you Yelp for suggesting something south of the Davey Bridge in Wiscasset (where the inlaws almost died last week, seriously). The location is in an area apparently going through a renaissance, so it could be a little sketchy later in the evening, but the actual location is very cute. The service was functional. The food was delicious. I loved their take on corn bread. A little sweet and a little spicy. The pulled pork was really good and so was the mac and cheese. Andy's chili looked really good. The beef brisket and ribs wee good too. Juicy and crispy. The fries were rally good too, a little spicy. The sauce on the table was pretty good. The mojito and the russian lemonade were both good.

SO WORTH THE WAIT! We went in August, and there was about a half hour wait, but it was so worth it! My husband and I shared the bbq sampler which had pulled pork, sausage, ribs, bbq chicken, beans, awesome jalapeno (not too hot) corn bread, mash and gravy, and coleslaw for $29.95 - what a great value!! DELICIOUS!! My daughter had the mac'n cheese platter with sausage, and we all can testify that this was THE BEST macaroni and cheese we have had ANYWHERE! My son had the pulled beef brisket and it was tender and delicious. This was such a nice, refreshing meal in a very welcoming atmosphere. They have micro-brews on tap, and an awesome Russian Lemonade (I had the raspberry version). Would definitely recommend and revisit in the drop of a hat!!

You're in midcoast Maine, and BBQ comes to mind way after lobster rolls and other local favorites. Still, Beale Street is worth a meal. The music is rockin' and the food is quite tasty, despite the distance from the Mason-Dixon Line. Try the brisket platter with lots of sauce, cornbread, and greens. You'll be smacking your lips.

For being so far north of the Mason-Dixon, this place sure knows BBQ.

There aren't a lot of great take out choices for real food in the area, so this one is a welcome surprise. Based on our 12 year old friends' insistence, we tried the pulled pork. Absolutely delicious, served on a slab of cornbread and your choice of sides for $9.95. We forgot to order one of our dinners, so ended up sharing mine with my friend, and it was plenty with mac n cheese & beans. Served with extra sauce. Cute atmosphere & bar at the location if you eat in. Worth the 20 minute drive from our Georgetown cottage even if we weren't visiting friends in Bath.

I had a rediculous mac and cheese with burnt ends and corn bread. Wow. Just sticks to your gut. Good BBQ sauce and good times. This is probably the best you're going to get in Bath and we were lucky to happen upon it.

Tried this place twice, doesn't hold a candle to real bbq joints. Meat was dry, sauce was good, not the best I've had though, cornbread was too sweet. Service was slow both times even though the restaurant was not packed, we usually go to restaurants before the big dinner crowd arrives.

Big portions, Ok prices, but so-so food. I am used to Blue Ribbon BBQ in Newton, MA or Redbones in Somerville, MA, so maybe I am applying an unfair standard. I could swear my brisket was reheated in the microwave.

Came here with my husband, best friend and her husband. Between the fast service and fantastic food you won't be disappointed. We had around the table the pulled pork on a bun, brisket and ribs combo, Texas Brisket, and Chicken Sausage jambalaya everything was to die for. Ribs fell off the bone, brisket fell apart when you cut into it. DELICIOUSLY FANTASTIC!

For a family of 4 for $80 including one margarita we couldn't be happier. Food was fast and fabulously simple. Lots of flavor. The waitress was very attractive and helpful. I love that it felt like a local place not a tourist trap.

Are there for lunch..it was okay but not amazing..there just wasn't a huge amount of meat on my sandwich and it wasn't particularly cheap. I don't mind paying for a great meal but I felt it just fell short.

If you're looking for something other than lobster and seafood, this is the place to go. The atmosphere is relaxed, the service is very friendly, and most importantly, the food is good. The food isn't cheap, but it isn't very expensive either, considering the type of food they serve, the quality, and the amount you get (hint: it's a lot) I ordered the chicken and sausage combo and chose fries and beans as my two included sides. I highly recommend the sausage for anyone who likes their food nice and spicy. My only complaint on the dish was that the chicken was a little dry. I tried some of my sister's ribs, which were good, but not extraordinary. The cornbread was some of the best I've had, and it rounded the plate out nicely. If you're in the Bath area and you're sick of seafood, this place should be your first choice. I highly recommend it.

Enjoy!

The town of Bath suffers from a lack of really good restaurants, except here. The Beale Street BBQ is THE place to eat. Pulled pork on cornbread, just amazing. Large smokers are outside, around the corner of the building, working overtime. Crowded everyday of the week, open for lunch and dinner, but no lobster-don't say I didn't tell you. Most definitely worth the wait.

The best ribs I've ever had. Tasty, firm, yet still still fell off the bone. Sauce was great, but on the side!!!!!! The ribs themselves were very tasty and the sauce was needed just for a bit of variety. The collard greens were just about the best veggies I've ever eaten. The flourless chocolate cake was rich and dense. My wife's jambalaya was spicy, but just so. Not over done, but full of flavor. They played great blues, from a super sound system that was just the right volume. The two manhatten's before and during dinner were massive and made just right. Service was prompt and friendly. Lots and lots of menu items that I'd like to try next time. Prices are moderate, at least for a guy from the San Francisco Bay area. In a word, this restaurant is perfect. If you are anywhere near Bath, Maine, stop here. In fact stay the night in Bath just so you can eat here. Huzzzzahhhhhhh!!!!!!!

This is one of those places that I have to stop at whenever I am in Bath. Since there is not much in the line of really good food there, this place is worth the time. Parking is plentiful and easy. The food is good and service is great. It's nice to find good BBQ in the middle of a New England winter. If you stop, make sure you buy a few bottles of their BBQ sauce to take home with you. My wife and I love it and I try to always keep it stocked.

Solid Memphis-style BBQ, with tasty food and polite (if slow) service. The half rack of ribs are more than enough food, with a monster corn bread and two sides - the collard greens and cole slaw are both excellent and fresh. Dry style southern barbecue: awesome.

I would imagine that Mainiacs may feel a little lobstered out from time to time. But even if you're not sick of seafood, this place is finger lickin' good. I got the lunch combo with 2 smoked sausages and 2 sides and definitely cleaned my plate. Good music, a really nice space, and very friendly service... don't forget to sign the guestbook!

I don't eat meat, but I appreciate that they have a few good vegetarian options.

(5)Allan C.
(3)Kurt W.
(3)Rick E.

(3)Kate P.
(5)John D.
Avoid.
(2)Jenna I.
(5)Swedish C.
Enjoy!
(4)Carol F.
Took the chance to have a bite here. The food was well prepared and tasty. The service was attentive. We had ribs, smoked sausage, and a quesadilla. 4* based on this type of casual restaurant.
(4)Kaye O.
Awesome service, awesome prices, great food. Our party got the range: sausage platter, brisket, barbecue sampler, pan-fried fish, pan-blackened fish. Everything was excellent, but I think the brisket was the winner here.
(5)Brion S.
Great beer and food. Good southern sides to boot. Friendly staff. Have had lunch and early afternoon meals here.
(4)Joanna R.

(3)Dan B.
This deserves 4 stars considering it is all the way up in Maine. Really great, rather unique BBQ joint with a good selection of the classics. In addition, they have a great beer selection.
(4)Don W.

Nasty nasty nasty!!!! Food- no taste at all. Gross. Servers on there phones not paying attention. Will not go back.

(4)Jody L.
(4)Daisy C.

Good ribs, good sauce, good times

(5)Andrew D.
(4)Sophia I.
Love the brisket here! The mac and cheese can be dry at times, but is still tasty. Recommend you visit here if you happen to be in Bath.
(5)Joe D.
I think we're done trying. ..
(2)Aaron L.
(2)Robyn R.
Delicous- pulled pork & cornbread!! The bbq sauce was also good. Would definitely be a regular if I was a local.

(2)Amy M.
(3)K L.
very good. Maine needs more decent restaurants. this place is very authentic, glad it's still around and frequented. hope it stays forever.
(5)Keith A.
Who would have thought, their is really good BBQ in Bath, ME. The food, beer, and service is really good.
(4)Jms S.
We love it here!! TheBBQ is the best Drinks are great Desserts are yummy! Prices are great We got the sampler platter the local cheese and Russian lemonades!
(5)Patrick M.
(4)Jayne B.
(4)Katie B.
Pulled pork plate with french fries and cole slaw = yum. The cornbread is a bit sweet and I like it that way.... and their cole slaw isn't too mayo-y and has a nice tang to it... plus their BBQ sauce is yummy! What more could you want??
(5)Jess R.
(4)Mark P.
(5)Ben J.
Lunch with the family, 1 yr old and 3 yr old. Excellent service, food was perfect and came out quickly. Had the stout and allagash white, beer was fresh and lines clean. Fourth time here, beef brisket is excellent!!!

We stop here every time we vacation in the area. Consistently first rate que, good service and atmosphere. If you like authentic BBQ, a rarity in these parts, stop here you won't be disappointed.
(5)Sarah S.

(5)Eben H.
(5)Laura N.
(5)Kristine G.

Very good bbq food and great blues music. The jerk chicken on bun in HOT & AMAZING! The sides are all extremely delicious - our favs are jalapeno corn bread & bayou rice. If you are in this area, this is a must stop. The staff are very friendly.

(5)Megan C.
Very good pulled chicken sandwich but roll, while good, detracts a little from the greatness of the chicken. Also got the baked beans (no meat) and goat cheese salad. Both were good but not overly spectacular. For $30, my husband and I each got sandwiches and appetizers (chili and salad).
(4)Rico S.
We stop here every time we vacation in the area. Consistently first rate que, good service and atmosphere. If you like authentic BBQ, a rarity in these parts, stop here you won't be disappointed.
(5)Sarah S.

(4)Jess R.

(4)Caroline P.
For being so far north of the Mason-Dixon, this place sure knows BBQ.
(4)Melinda D.
(4)Ryan K.
I had a rediculous mac and cheese with burnt ends and corn bread. Wow. Just sticks to your gut. Good BBQ sauce and good times. This is probably the best you're going to get in Bath and we were lucky to happen upon it.
(4)Kim B.
Tried this place twice, doesn't hold a candle to real bbq joints. Meat was dry, sauce was good, not the best I've had though, cornbread was too sweet. Service was slow both times even though the restaurant was not packed, we usually go to restaurants before the big dinner crowd arrives.
(1)Walter B.
Best BBQ in Maine.
(5)Nat S.
Big portions, Ok prices, but so-so food. I am used to Blue Ribbon BBQ in Newton, MA or Redbones in Somerville, MA, so maybe I am applying an unfair standard. I could swear my brisket was reheated in the microwave.
(3)Paul B.
Great BBQ food in charming downtown Bath.
(5)Karen C.
(5)Kris H.
For a family of 4 for $80 including one margarita we couldn't be happier. Food was fast and fabulously simple. Lots of flavor. The waitress was very attractive and helpful. I love that it felt like a local place not a tourist trap.
(4)Breanne R.
Delicious barbecue, and you HAVE to try their corn bread! It has a little zing to it, but not a lot at all, perfect in my opinion! I could buy a loaf of it!
(5)Dan F.
(5)H S.
I don't eat meat, but I appreciate that they have a few good vegetarian options.

(5)Allan C.
(3)Kurt W.
(3)Rick E.
Shrimp Jambalaya was really good as was the cornbread. However beef brisket and pulled pork were fatty.

Are there for lunch..it was okay but not amazing..there just wasn't a huge amount of meat on my sandwich and it wasn't particularly cheap. I don't mind paying for a great meal but I felt it just fell short.
(3)Miles C.

(3)Kate P.
(5)John D.
Avoid.
(2)Jenna I.
(5)Swedish C.
Enjoy!

(3)Dan B.
This deserves 4 stars considering it is all the way up in Maine. Really great, rather unique BBQ joint with a good selection of the classics. In addition, they have a great beer selection.
(4)Don W.

Nasty nasty nasty!!!! Food- no taste at all. Gross. Servers on there phones not paying attention. Will not go back.
(1)David B.
(4)Mike K.
(5)Jody L.

Good ribs, good sauce, good times

(4)Sophia I.
Love the brisket here! The mac and cheese can be dry at times, but is still tasty. Recommend you visit here if you happen to be in Bath.
(5)Daisy C.
(4)Joe D.

(2)Robyn R.
Delicous- pulled pork & cornbread!! The bbq sauce was also good. Would definitely be a regular if I was a local.

(3)K L.
very good. Maine needs more decent restaurants. this place is very authentic, glad it's still around and frequented. hope it stays forever.

(4)Jayne B.
(4)Katie B.
Pulled pork plate with french fries and cole slaw = yum. The cornbread is a bit sweet and I like it that way.... and their cole slaw isn't too mayo-y and has a nice tang to it... plus their BBQ sauce is yummy! What more could you want??
(5)Sabrina W.

Had the Special, blueberry ribs suggested by the waitress. The sauce was similar to a traditional BBQ sauce but with a sweet aftertaste of Maine blueberries. Good Mac and cheese and fries. Seated fast with good service and wifi. Happy to return.

Always good. The jalapeno cornbread alone is worth the trip.

Delicious barbecue, and you HAVE to try their corn bread! It has a little zing to it, but not a lot at all, perfect in my opinion! I could buy a loaf of it!

Great BBQ food in charming downtown Bath.
