A Coffee Pot sandwich is as representative of Maine as a lobster roll stuffed into a jug of maple syrup is for me. For most of my childhood, we made yearly treks to Maine where the original Coffee Pot was a staple. One of the greatest joys was opening a Coffee Pot on the planeride home and watch as people look about in a ferver trying to locate the blast of onion and salami that ninja-kicked their nostrils. There was and is something uniquely East coast - and specifically Maine - about this sandwich. The simplicity of a split roll, filled with robust onions, peppers and seasonings...wonderful provolone, salami, ham and pickles sitting quietly on top of the roll as if that's how all sandwiches do it. I love it. I love that the new Coffee Pot has tried to stay true to the old formula. I love that nostalgia comes in a very edible wrapped to-go variety. I love that once a year - maybe....just maybe....I am willed the opportunity to have a taste of my childhood but for only one meal.

Coffee Pot sandwiches are amazing as well as the staff. Been here multiple times and got the Deluxe Salami and Ham both times. -Their onions are out of this world delicious. -The bread was firm yet flakey. -The meats are fresh and tasty. These sandwiches are made fresh on the spot aside from the small group of pre-made sandwiches for backup. The drive thru window is also very efficient.

Visit 1 - I thought I would try a new coffeehouse so I stopped by The Coffee Pot. Unfortunately, they don't serve coffee as the name would suggest. The woman behind the counter was very nice and suggested I return when I wanted a sandwich. Visit 2 - I ordered the signature Regular Coffee Pot sandwich and was handed a premade-prewrapped sandwich filled with white onions and a slice of salami sitting outside the cheapest-of-cheap white bread. It tasted as you would expect. Why would anyone sell sandwiches like this? Why would anyone pay $6 for sandwiches like this? Why is it called The Coffee Pot? Too many questions...

Awesome Maine made sandwiches with love. In particular to the roast beef coffee pot but they are all great!!

The staff is so friendly, service is quick, restaurant is clean and the sandwiches are delicious!! Not to mention the sandwiches are huge! I love the Coffee Pot, and come here all the time! I would recommend my favorite, the hot ham italian, or the super deluxe ham. Everything is great though honestly!

Friendly staff and a nice, casual environment good for a quick work lunch. Menu is a simple one but their sandwiches can be customized to your liking.

We're driving through from the West Coast and needed a quick bite to eat. Didn't want to do fast food, so we tried this local shop. Don't do it! All the poor reviews are correct, bland sandwiches, poorly made...fast food would have been a better option n I never say that!

Thought we would try this place after over a year living in Bangor. We always thought it was a coffee place, go figure. Veggie sandwich really?? More like onion with a sprinkle of green peppers. Tons of provolone layers on the OUTSIDE of the sandwich, bland. My husbands hot italian sandwich was just as disappointing.

These are not like the originals switched bakers or something

Love this place! I usually call ahead so I can pick up through the drive thru window. Always fast and efficient. Love my loyalty card!

Not bad if you don't mind an onion sandwich.

4.5 stars? Really? This place does not do the sandwich that we have all come to know and love any justice. The bread is bland and tasteless, the meat is sub-par. The overall experience does not harkon back to the original Coffee Pot sandwich. If you'd like to experience the original Coffee Pot, the Birmwich from Birmingham's in Old Town is your best bet.

I dont think it's as good as the original, but it's damn close.

Bring a friend (or several!) 'cause you've got to munch down on these Bangor Maine classic sub sandwiches! Oh, also the people that run this place are the best!

The return of a classic! I am so happy that the staff of the original Coffee Pot decided to reopen the business. The sandwiches are fantastic! Best of luck to all of you!

I'm from Seattle, and for me, Dick's Drive-in is mother's milk. I love Dick's and I'm fully aware that it's just OK for most people who aren't from Seattle. To the people of Bangor, Maine, the Coffee Pot Cafe must hold such a place in their palates. When I was there two employees from the Dairy Queen next door were getting their lunch. The construction of the sandwich was actually genius. They stuff a quality roll with veggies and seasonings--everyone gets the same veggies--and then pile the meat and cheese on the outside of the bun. Looking around the place I noticed that some people were cramming the meat into their sandwiches, like my friend did. Like about half of the other patrons of the Coffee Pot, I kept the meat on the outside of the bun and it was actually quite easy to eat. Everything stayed uniform, nothing slid out of place and the second half of the sandwich stayed fresh until I got on my connecting flight home six hours later. Service was super quick and the food was super tasty!
