Located right on the corner of the historic area of Bangor, this place is easy to find and has a decent menu. The portions are larger at dinner, as with most places with a smaller menu at lunch. What I've had so far here is pretty good, I like the Masaman Beef Curry as well as the Pad Thai Noodles. I've seen parties being held on one side of the dining area which is divided, and the family that owns it seem nice enough. The building is rather old, but so is most everything here in the historic area of downtown, so I can't hold that against them :) It is kept clean and the service is good. -------------------- Taste - 4 Variety - 4 Service - 3 Price - 4 Ambience - 3 Cleanliness - 3 --------------------

Food is good. I ordered green curry and a salad. Salad was ok, green curry was really good. You really need to tell them the spice level you desire, otherwise the spice level is pretty low and you will be disappointed if you went there for spicy food. Overall good experience, their hot tea was good as well.

The food is pretty good here, but the prices are a tad too high for what you get in my opinion. I was also a little disappointed that when I asked for the wifi password I got a little card with the supposed directions for how to get online, but the card instructed me to sign up for some service to receive some free time. Seriously? I can go to McDonald's and spend a dollar and get free wifi. Here I spent about $50 for the whole family and no wifi...

I love Thai food, and I remembered this place from my prior visit. Sis usually goes here for the Thom Ka, which we ordered. I enjoyed mine, but Sis remarked that it was sweet tasting to her. She asked for chili sauce and was given hot pepper sprinkles like they have at pizza places. She ordered the crab rangoon, and said was cold, and the shrimp tempura, which had more veg tempura on the plate than shrimp. She told the waitress she wasn't happy, and they gave her three more pieces of shrimp. In addition to the soup, I got the fried tofu, which was fine, but the sweet dipping sauce was just ok. Also got the spring rolls, and the rice paper wrapper was tough.

I've tried Thai Siam several times over the years, with just enough time between visits for me to forget how mediocre the food is. The pad Thai is bland and dry, and various attempts at fried rice and curry offerings are lackluster. The fresh Thai rolls are ok, but that is the only thing on the menu that I would consider ordering here again.

Best Thai food in the Bangor area. The curry dishes are good but my favorite is the spicy seafood pad-thai.

I get takeout here ALL the time. Definitely best if you get it take out. I have yet to find a better place for Pad Thai or Thai Iced Tea in the area. Their crab rangoons are not your usual american chinese fare, they have a different twist, but are delicious. The curry is also quite good from what I hear, but I cave for that pad thai every time haha.. I am always greeted warmly and I will keep coming back :) This is my go to place for 'cheat day' ;)

I really loved the ambiance of this place and the menus are pretty cool looking too. They have many options to choose from. I ordered the vegetable fried rice and my mom ordered a peanut dish with chicken (which I totally forgot the name of). Both dishes were really great and the service was friendly. I would definitely come here again!

so after reading some review on yelp i was a little hesitant on going there but i wanted some thai food so eh gave it a try. the decor really does need some improvement especially the bar the lighting was absolutely horrid i don't see why anyone would ever sit near that area it's depressing. aside from that, the food is actually pretty good! having thai food from all over it's a nice surprise to find good tasting thai food in bangor. we got their fried chicken wings, pad thai and pad see ew. the chicken was okay, pretty ordinary with sauce on the side. the pad thai was done very nicely: noodles were cooked perfectly, sauce was not overpowering and had a good flavor. pad see ew was pretty ordinary but wasn't bad. my next stop would probably be to the shack looking thai take out place to get some drunken noodles but otherwise i'd definitely return here to get more pad thai.

It was edible but this is by far some of the worst thai food I have had. Given the options in the Bangor are its not that bad, hence the two stars. There are not many better places to spend your money but this place should be skipped. The decor was really depressing like it is still being worked on after many years and had been given up on. Our waiter looked like he didn't want to be there either. The food is average Americanized thai, too sweet. Steamed noodles is the only way to describe it. The menu has many options from other Americanized asian cuisines, which might be a positive. All in all until they finish the place I would skip it.

See this place is not getting good reviews.... The decor is lacking but we thought the food we ordered was very good. (mango chicken curry) We would probably go there again the next time we were are in town.

Thai Siam is excellent food for Bangor, ME. Supposedly owned by the same people as Thai Orchid or Orono, the quality of food is roughly similar. I have only ordered take-out from Thai Siam, so my rating does not reflect a dining-in experience. The only drawback of Thai Siam is that they do not provide enough rice with take-out or with meals.

I went today with my grandparents who have never had Thai food before. I have never been more upset with this place, even after I found a hair that last time I was here, I wasn't as mad as I was when I left today. First off, they were out of whole fish. That was a bummer but not the end of the world. Also they had one waitress for the whole place and it was super busy. They had a kitchen guy come out and the sushi dude handing out menus cause it was busy. But that is no excuse for the bad service/food that we had today. : ( I ordered shrimp pad thai (my usual) for me and crab rangoons for the table. A group of 4 came in well after we had been sitting and they ordered right after us. They ordered 2 orders of crab rangoons and got them both before we got our one order. We got our soup and then right after my mother got her meal (soup and sushi) while my grandparents just sat there and watched her eat. About 10 minutes later we got our food... but still no crab rangoons! I let the waiter know and low and behold... that table ordered another order of rangoons and they gave them their 3rd order before we even got our order! Halfway through our meal we finally got the damn crab rangoons. It looked they like had been fried twice since the edges of them were all burned. However the insides were still good. Now, on to the meals... My mother got the seafood soup and that was good, had a little bit of a spicy kick at the end. My grandmother got the pik pow peanuts and for her first time eating Thai she liked it. My grandfather got the pork pad thai and I had the shrimp. Boy did our plates look super different. His was loaded with sauce and veggies. My plate had no veggies, 5 shrimp, hardly no sauce (the rice noodles were still white!), and there were so many sprouts it was like eating a sprout salad with rice noodle and shrimp garnish!!! I was SUPER disappointed : ( At the end of the meal it took about 20 minutes for us to get the CC run though. Again, the table next to us got quick service and had their CC taken away and rung up while we were treated as an afterthought. My grandfather was not to happy about that, and he was the one doing the tipping. Needless to say for my grandparents first time trying Thai food, they liked it but wont be going back to Thai Siam. I will be taking them to Thai Orchid next time. For me, I will try it again because there are so few places to get Thai food in this area but if I experience that kind of service again, I will not go back.

Drunken noodles should not be made with a ketchup based sauce. Pretty sure about that.

First time eating here the other night. My sister raves about this place so we checked it out. I just came from Guam where they have a few Thai restaurants with authentic Thai recipes. Thai Siam tasted the same and the portions were more than I expected. I was very impressed with the Chicken Pad Thai. I'm excited to go back and try more as I hear every dish is amazing.
