We stop every time we come to our camp. Great home-cooked food especially the desserts.

The grand gobbler sandwich is amazing! You get a huge portion of real carved turkey breast on soft fresh baked bread with some of the best stuffing I've ever had. This sandwich is glorious! The service was very friendly and prompt. I love it here :)

This was the only place open in Maine after 9pm during the week, so we had no choice. I am so glad!!! This place is amazing. Definitely a Truckers Diners you can tell because the food is delicious, large portions, served quickly with a smile. What a find. We will absolutely be back next time we are in Maine

Dysart's is one of those spots that makes you smile and appreciate small-town America. First and foremost, the food here is good ole home-cookin', and it is super popular among locals and tourists alike. On a weekend early morning, there was hardly a parking place to be found, and my wife and I chuckled when we saw multiple tour buses from Canada pull up for a brunch stop during their march down the coast. I'm pretty sure I overhead one of them say, "I wonder if we'll see Stephen King here, eh?" Well, apparently he does frequent this place, but sadly, he wasn't sitting in a corner booth with his typewriter. Upon entering, my wife and I were immediately greeted with a smile, sat at a table and poured bottomless cups of coffee. I ordered the "kitchen sink" omelette with hashbrowns and a side of salsa, while she ordered the "short stack" of blueberry pancakes, a half of a grapefruit, and a side of bacon. That was enough food to feed a family of 4...easily. The pancakes were nearly a foot in diameter but cooked perfectly and seriously delicious. The short stack order comes with two, and I don't know if I want to know how large the "tall stack" is. My omelette was fantastic and oozed with cheese. With every bite, I thought to myself, "man, there is nothing better than a well-prepared omelette and a cup of coffee on a Sunday morning." My wife agreed when she picked at my plate. Both of us thought the bacon was rather pedestrian and probably could have not been ordered (since there was already so much other food...oh wait, I forgot, my omelette also came with ridiculous home-made biscuits -- I could have just eaten those all day and been happy). We were in and out of the restaurant in under 35 minutes and made a pact to definitely come back next weekend. Their pies looked delicious and need to be consumed.

The reviews that complain about this restaurant catering to an older crowd are hilarious. Hello, it's in northern Maine. What's the biggest demographic? Anyway, this is easily my favorite restaurant in northern Maine... maybe in the state of Maine altogether. I have never had a bad experience, and I only wish I lived close enough to go more often. I also love that you can order bakery items online ahead of time for pickup at a later date. I brought home two loaves of some seriously amazing pumpkin chocolate chip bread from a trip to Bangor this weekend.

A waffle with fake maple syrup, and a serving of biscuits and gravy with eggs, coffee for two, came out to 30 bucks (ouch) with tip! overpriced for portions and quality, good service , We won't go back, can find a way better, - and more affordable - breakfast in many other places.

Well Dysart's is a staple if you have to drive up north. Every time we drive by we have to stop. The plates are always full. You get your moneys worth. You can also order breakfast or lunch 24/7. So it does not matter what time you pull in. Just ask for the menu you want to eat and the will hook you up.

How about a spectacular BLT with nice thick bacon. It was just what I need. I like Dysarts because every time I go there customers and the people working there seem happy. Just an observation but good food and good vibes equals great experience at the big truck stop.

Does management really think that customers won't notice smaller portions and higher prices? We have been going here for years but find the food is not as good as it used to be. There are fewer choices, sides that came with the meal are now provided at additional charge, the onion rings were cold and not crispy as advertised, and the bun for my burger was smaller than the burger. To say we have been disappointed with our last few visits here is an understatement. The home cooking is gone, replaced by ordinary.

I try really hard to give the waitress' here the benefit of the doubt when dealing with drunk people at 2 am, especially on Halloween weekend... HOWEVER... I was the sober driver and brought in 4 other people with me around 2 am. We had to wait for a table to be cleaned off to fit 5 people. No big deal. Sat and our waitress came. We had a few questions and she was kind of short with us and not really involved in our order. Example, we ordered the poutine and she never asked beef or turkey gravy - which usually the waitress always asks. However since I have not been here in over 8 months, I didnt ask for Turkey gravy and out came beef gravy. My friend ordered a hot chocolate that never came and got charged for it. And my other friend never got the hashbrowns that he spent a good 2 minutes talking to the waitress about. And when he said "remember we talked about my options for sides and I said I wanted hashbrowns?" she replied "I really dont remember what your talking about. I'm almost done here and trying to go home." OKAY THEN.... dont take a table of 5 if you are "trying to go home." there was one section open and 3 waitresses on and many people were leaving. However, the guys sitting next to us were all pissed off too cause their order came out super wrong... that should have been our first clue. So then my meal came, I got the french toast, no meat, and cheese on my egg. No cheese came on my eggs and my french toast was pretty much lightly fried bread. I should have looked at it better before I started in on it, but after 3 bites of different pieces, I was still only tasting buttered bread. My friends tried it to make sure I wasnt crazy and to a drunk person they even said it was not french toast. So I sat there saying that this was not good and the waitress heard me but ignored me. She didn't ask us how our meals were and didnt come back by until my friend flagged her down and explained that we were missing hot chocolate, hashbrowns, and that the "french toast" was nothing more that lightly fried bread. He asked "is there something we can do about her meal?" the waitress asked if I wanted a new one but at the point people were mostly done so I said "no i'm over it, I'll just eat the eggs" Which at this point were super cold. She came back with the checks and I was charged full price for the meal. My friend AGAIN flagged the waitress over and said "listen, she sent her meal back can we do something about this check?" The waitress replied "well she didnt want a replacement." yes I'm aware. you cooked a dish wrong and rather than wait and eat alone while my friends were done, I just said forget it. I was fully prepared to pay for the price of the 2 eggs I ate, but not for the french toast. The waitress leaves and goes to speak with a manager. Who then comes back and gives me a check and they had comped the whole meal. Ok, as I said I was willing to pay the price of the eggs and I was so mad at the waitress that I wasnt going to leave a tip. So i took the price of the eggs $3 and left it as a tip. THEN as we were leaving, my drunk friend says "oops, I left a shoe under the table" grabs it and waits at the door. The "Manager" then says "if I had known you didnt have your shoes on, we wouldnt have let you in." Ok, so at this point I realized that yes, my friends are drunk, but we were not being loud, disrespectful, trashing the place, or being the typical 'drunk table' at dysarts. We were 30 somethings that happened to go out for halloween and were starving at 2 am. The manager treated us like delinquents and I'm sorry if she had a rough night with other drunk people, but my friend came in with shoes on, slipped off her heels at the table and walked the 5 feet from our table to the door carrying them. Srsly, "Manager" pick your battles. This just added to our frustration and made me think that yes, she was wearing heels and tights that covered her feet. She took her shoes off and walked 5 ft in her tights. I understand it's a restaurant and there are rules, however people go in there with flip flops or slip their shoes off their feet when they eat and I am sure that many other girls have walked out at one point carrying their heels after a long night of dancing... so to make that comment, as we were leaving was just being rude. We finally leave and get into the car and everyone couldnt believe the "service" that we got at Dysarts. It was AWFULall around. The only good thing was the pumpkin pancakes so that was worth the 1 star this review got. However, after that treatment by a waitress who clearly didnt want to be there or even serve our table or even care enough to do a good job (bad day or not, she was all around not pleasant) and by a manager who clearly was judging our table and annoyed with us for whatever reason... I dont think I will be going back anytime soon.

Truck drivers need not even bother. I went to this place last night and was completely ignored. I sat at a table in an area near others, and no one even bothered to take my drink order or bring a menu. After nearly 10 minutes, a local couple came in and were immediately waited on. I took the hint and left. I'm not sure why they refused service to me, but I was the only guest who was solo.

Service was great. Food over all was ok. They changed the bacon; it tasted like kerosene coated bacon. I took one bite and left the rest. Don't know that I will be back on my next visit to Maine.

Not sure why this place has so many good reviews. Food was average, nothing was fantastic. The hash browns were previously frozen, nothing seemed home cooking to me.

My husband loves this place for breakfast. I'm not really a fan... Nothing healthy here I used to go here when I was in college for a cheap meal. I will say though, that I had a grilled biscuit and it was perfect.

Not quite up to all the hype, but to be fair, Bangor doesn't have a whole lot to offer as far as restaurants. Food was tasty and portions were adequate for the price (a little overpriced for a truck stop diner, in my opinion). Breakfast was good, everything was a bit mushy - overly sweet and salty generally. Like the food you'd expect from a restaurant that caters to oldsters. Oh wait, this place is full of grey haired folks...hmm. Breakfast came with beans which were VERY molasses-y. If you can take a spoonful of straight molasses and like it, you'll love these beans. The potatoes were very tasty, tender and flavorful - high marks for those. The bread/toast was also very good, fresh and flavorful. The corned beef hash was delicious, but I felt the portion was skimpy for the price. I think my breakfast ran to $9.99 and my plate should have been more full. Coffee was not as good as one would expect from a highly-touted truck stop/diner. One would think a staple would be good quality fresh coffee. The dining room is very open and spartan, cafeteria-like, with a number of long tables that could accommodate large groups. Cozy this is not. There is a separate "trucker" dining room along the same lines. The men's restroom had an overpowering odd aroma of well, how do I describe it? Salty spice and stale urine, perhaps? Not very pleasant. Some automatic air fresheners and/or a good fan might do wonders. We both also had a bit of stomach upset after our meal here, which of course makes me wary as well. I'm generally of the cast iron stomach type. I'll probably give it another chance, if for no other reason than there aren't that many other options for this type of food in the area.

I had beans and franks and my wife had Shepherd's pie. My meal was pretty good but not great. Her shepherd's pie was really over garlicky. I love garlic and all but shepherd's pie is purposely not overly flavorful. Don't try to dress it up. The biggest disappointment to me was the dessert pies. They had been frozen (you can tell by the crust) and you actually could taste the garlic in those crusts as well, like maybe they stored them next to the shepherd's pies in the freezer. I had been told this was one of Maine's true gems but I'm not convinced.

Believe the hype...this place is deeelish. We grabbed breakfast here before an early flight. I had pancakes and sausage and my dad ordered an omelet. I got the "short stack" which consists of 2 pancakes. They were fluffy, sweet and perfectly done. The pancakes are huge....I'd recommend getting just one. My dad's omelet came with toast and hash browns. There's zero chance of you leaving this place hungry. I also got a Diet Coke and their machine calibration was spot on. (Very important to me...I subtract a star when it's off.) Other notes: wait staff was friendly and our food came out quickly, ambience is truck stop diner complete with country music and Fox News on the telly. The breakfast menu is home style....if you're looking for quiche, this probably is not the place for you. I admit I was a little skeptical given the fact that this place is at a truck stop and gas station, but it certainly lives up to all the glowing reviews. If I could, I'd eat breakfast here before every flight.

Back in my truck driving days, I had a regular run from Wilmington, DE to Grand Falls, NB. I stopped at Dysart's in Bangor going both ways. Having driven through all the lower 48 and all across Canada, I can say with good authority that Dysart's has the very best food on the road. If it had white linen tablecloths it would be a 5 star restaurant. You know the old saying about how truck drivers know the best places to eat? Well its true with Dysart's. People in the Bangor area are very lucky.

The blueberry pie is AMAZING!! I would give 5 stars for that and 2 stars for the rest of the meal. At the end of our meal we wished we would had forgone lunch and just ordered an entire pie with ice cream on top to share between the 3 of us. I got the black bear omelette which was average. The home fries were not flavorful and maybe a tad undercooked and the cinnamon raisin toast I had was average. My friends got the hot Thanksgiving sandwich and the pot roast and mash potatoes which neither of them liked. Our waitress was nice but it took us 45min to get our food and she brought out the wrong sides for all of us. It was Labor Day so the restaurant was very busy.

Interesting place. Smaller than the hype, and typical truck stop fare. Lots of press about the pot roast, which was dry and pretty tasteless. We had the fried clams too - which were excellent. Good lobster roll, but nothing to say "I gotta come back here". Oh, huge servings of everything and the beans as a side are worth mentioning. Probably the best part of the dining experience was the spunky staff who added a lot of fun to the meal. They were all funny and attentive.

This place has the best blueberry pancakes and the best pies. I mean it, I've tried a LOT of pie. You might have heard how amazing Dangerously Delicious Pies is in DC and you might have heard similar reviews of Magpie in Philly. These are WAY better and those others are no slouches. My favorite at Dysart's is the bumbleberry pie (blueberry and raspberry combined). I like it best topped with ice cream. On the pancakes, I love their whipped cream. Their whipped cream surpasses all others. Typically you need to call in your bumbleberry pie the day before, I believe. Sometimes you luck out and they have one on hand, particularly at the holidays, but best to play it safe and call it in if possible. The service is always awesome and you can also pick up breads, muffins, cookies, and more--they're all right by the cash register. The cinnamon roll is HUGE and good, but it's not the best I've had. The edges are very dry and the rest could definitely be more moist. Oh well, eat more pancakes :)

Stopped in after my hotel recommended it. The small portion of the pot roast was more than enough and it came with the best homemade white bread. Lots of side options to choose from. The baked goods looked great but I didn't leave room for dessert.

I heartily enjoyed my stop at Dysart's, as recommended by the guide from the local Stephen King tour. It was the perfect end to our half-day in Bangor. It's not really about the food, although the food is fine, generously portioned, and reasonably priced -- the blueberry pie with ice cream was a perfect dessert. There's something in the ambiance that makes it a memorable place. The long table reserved for truckers and the flirtatious waitress who served them ... The awesome store that has just about anything you can think of that would be of any use on the road (I bought a device that simultaneously charges iPhones and enables you to play music or podcasts through car speakers) ... The weird bumpkin families with obese children ... The showers and TV room for truckers ... It just seems like the kind of place you've got to check out at least once.

I grew up in Bar Harbor but now live in Exile (aka: Ct). Whenever I get back to God's Country, I stop at Dysart's. IMHO, their seafood platter is second only to that of the Thirsty Whale in Bar Harbor. Hardly faint praise!! The pies and baked goods I buy to go due to lack of stomach capacity. Be careful not to go to sleep behind the wheel after this feast!

I don't know if Maine's really how life should be, but Dysart's is without a doubt how diners should be. When I think of my undergraduate and pre-graduate years at UMaine (I lived in the Bangor area twice), Dysart's figures heavily in some of my finest memories. Many Saturday late nights were spent chowing down on blueberry pancakes, ham steaks, home fries and coffee...this was back when I could fall asleep after having caffeine...smoking too many cigarettes and hanging out with friends. Despite the fact that we're talking the early 90s here, the fact of the matter is, Dysart's hasn't really changed too much. Sure, it's not smoky anymore and that's a sign of the times. They have a slightly updated decor and a shrine to their baked goods. The menu now has pictures of the food...in color even! But, nearly 20 years later after my first visit the blueberry pancakes are still made with those sweet, plump little Maine blueberries, they are still huge, you can still get the best woopie pies in the state and they plunk down what seems like a gallon of coffee -- all at a reasonable price. The service is also still really great, it epitomizes the difference between Massachusetts and Maine -- they are so damn nice! Truthfully, I don't miss Bangor much -- I'm a city boy after all, but I do miss Dysart's. When it comes to diner food, this is my benchmark of how it should be and always will be.

Went in for a late breakfast this morning and the food was excellent. Even the hot chocolate was great, which seems like an easy one but lately every one I order has been kind of crappy. The service was also good though our waitress seemed a little scattered. Check this place out if you happen to be in Bangor.

I desperately scoured the internet for some place in Bangor with home style cooking but didn't imagine I would find something as great as Dysart's. I am a lover of beef liver so anywhere with liver on the menu immediately wins my heart. Make it taste really good and include some healthy veggies, and I'm in heaven. I am only in Bangor for a few days, but I hope to eat as many meals as possible at Dysart's - not kidding. The place was outstanding. If your nose is high in the air you probably will not like Dysart's. The restaurant is part of a truck stop and does not specialize in silly food presentation. Instead they specialize in great service and hearty, tasty portions. Can't wait to go back for breakfast. Oh and the baked goods looked incredible, but I had the discipline to resist on my first visit. Update: Went back for breakfast the next morning. Not sure what's better, breakfast or dinner. Can I pick this place up and take it home with me? Love it.

Dysart's is my favorite! I recently moved to Bangor and this has been a weekly staple for my fiancé and I. It's usually packed on the weekends but still, service is timely :) def best breakfast in the area.

Awesome food . Great truck stop atmosphere. Friendly local waitstaff and good service. Blueberry pie was awesome - we took home a whole pie and it's great! BEST CORNBEEF HASH EVER - Every review was correct - this place is a must stop for good food.

We had the turkey sandwhich, the scallops in maple, the blueberry pie, and the cinnamon roll. The blueberry pie and cinnamon roll were delicious. The scallops were quite good and the turkey sandwhich was pretty standard. There was definately a line when we arrived but service was quick. Definately worth a stop if driving by on the highway.

Everyone else who has written a review for this place is F'd up! This place is just disgusting BUT let me elaborate: The ambiance is hilarious. It is EXACTLY what you expect from a truck stop: haggard waitresses, truckers with really terrible tattoos and old people. Gotta love it. I mean it, I loved the place for the entertainment value (we were really searching for a restaurant from Trailer Park Boys where they had Hot Hamburger Sandwiches but alas this was not it) but the food was barftastic. I ordered the "jawsburger". It was described as a broiled or fried haddock fillet on a toasted bun with melted cheese. What I got was a fried haddock fillet on a cold, tiny freezer bun with a cold and slightly melty Kraft single slice on top. ew. My husband had the "Burger Bomb". It was on the same lame ass bun with a bunch of uncooked vegetables thrown on it. He asked for it medium rare but got it well well well done. Then there was the Poutine... I thought we were close enough to the border, being in Bangor, that they might be able to get poutine right but I was wrong, very wrong. The poutine was crinkle cut fries with a some tasteless shreaded mixed cheese thrown on top with nasty old bottom of the pot gravy. I felt dirty after I ate here. But go anyway for the people watching opportunity.

Truck stop diner that is doing it right. Delicious, fast, hearty, and inexpensive. Middle aged servers that call you honey. Perfectly authentic.

A true truck stop with great food and waitresses. Never had better pie (especially the banana cream) or from scratch corn beef hash at any restaurant. Breakfast any time of day too, so if you don't see corn beef hash on the menu later in the day just ask for a breakfast menu.

Breakfast 24 hrs a day? Definitely appealing to a college kid. I've been many times at 2am after the bar closes and the customers are definitely fun to observe at that time of night. Great seasonal foods- pumpkin pancakes are unreal!! The portions are huge also. They do have a "biggest loser" section of their menu for those non-trucker appetizers. Servers are mostly older women, so you get that home dinner feeling. Dysarts also won the award for best pies in Bangor. I've had their Tollhouse and strawberry rhubarb and they were ahhhhmazing. My friends also dared me to eat the "18 Wheeler" 18 scopes of strawberry, vanilla and chocolate ice cream with bananas, cherries, chocolate sauce, and whipped cream. I did it. By the end it was gross, but fun. Dysarts gave me a tee shirt that says, "I ate an 18-Wheeler at Dysarts" get it? it's a truck stop haha.

The food here is good, not great. The service is similar. It's mainly the atmosphere that makes this place a must. It's a must-stop if you're in the Orono area. Especially if it's the middle of the night.

Do not order a burger! They are precooked, dry, over cooked and served with cold cheese. No excuse for such a horible burger. Worst ever! When asked, I told the very nice cashier that it was the worst and wht. Her response? They were supposed to stop precooking them!

Read the reviews. Good place to go. Kids had short stack of pancakes which was good enough for anyone hungry. I think I'd limit my intake to just that though. First time had the eggs w/corn beef and hash, it was okay. Tasted the pancakes and wished I stuck with ordering that but I wanted to try something else to better review. Went late so saw other folks ordering lunch meals. They all looked good. Kids plate was for small kids. Came back the next day for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Took a go at the lobster roll. Good but not worth the price, needed something more to it. Had the black bear, didn't know how to approach it, so freakin big. An open faced sub with beef, cheese, peppers and onions w/onion rings. Onion rings were cold and sitting around for a awhile. Ended up losing my appetite and leaving it. Started not to feel well the next 2 days. Definitely stick to the rolls which were great and the pancakes for breakfast. Looking forward to the cinnamon rolls, have to get them early, once they're gone, that's it.

I was first introduced to Dysart's Truck Stop & Restaurant back in 1971. I have continued to eat there since then and have NEVER been disappointed with my selections. The food is always the freshest and well prepared and the portions are quite healthy in size. It is a 24/7/365 place - never closes. The staff are very helpful and have a great sense of humah. Any meal anytime - and Tasty! Makes me want to be there as I write this. Very secure. Can you guess that I love this place?!? If you are traveling I - 95, it is a place to experience and once you do, you will return.

The three of us had lobster rolls and lobster stew. They were very good and reasonably priced. But what gives this place five stars is the blueberry pie. A trucker's slice is served with a heap of real whipped cream--not canned, but whipped whipping cream--and it is perfect. Literally.

I can sum up this review in once curiously short statement: Bacon + Bowl = Breakfast Utopia. Dysart's is what's right in the world. Great, friendly service with a quality, hearty breakfast that gives you a sense of satisfaction when you are done. There's plenty of other great grub on the menu that will satisfy your craving for country home-cooking, but b-fast is my favorite. Slap on some reasonable prices, and that's a recipe for "keep coming back." Try it once, try it twice, please take my advice.

I agree with Jeff below, this place does have some of the best corn beef hash I have ever had and it's a great place to eat. I always get the kitchen sink omlet though it does seem to have gone down in size in the last few years, still some of the best food around, and all home made!

As others have mentioned, you can get breakfast at Dysart's at any time of the day. I don't think I have ordered anything else here. I recommend the omelets. In addition to the restaurant, there is also a 24 hour store that caters to truckers, and of course gas and diesel fuel.

Awesome place for home-cooked warm comfort food. Baked beans are incredible, I wish this place was closer to eat at once in awhile. Homemade bread that you can buy and bring home with you. The place was packed on a Sunday night, how many truck stops have a line out the door waiting for a table. Casual but good. The blueberry pie was packed with blueberries, not skimping on filling, crust was delicious, tasted homemade.

Our breakfast here was just okay. It was noted that the section in which we were seated used to be occupied exclusively by commercial transport specialists a.k.a. truckers and now that section is completely overrun by the traveling public and truckers now only have one long table at which to commiserate and share their tales about the current state of the industry. Believe me, I know what I'm talking about since I've learned a lot about the industry from Dining Companion, a former trucker, in the last two years. If it weren't for truckers, we'd be in big trouble and yet their importance in today's society is being diminished and regulated to the point where it is not worth it. But I digress. Truckers made Dysart's what it is today and it's a shame that they are given such a tiny space. IMHO, the food here is way overpriced and the restaurant seems to rest on its laurels. Waitstaff are much friendlier than those at the other Maine Institution, Moody's but are just as busy and efficient. The breakfast menu is fairly consistent but more expensive. We noted that if we had the same meals at our other favorite diner, Rolly's in Auburn, we'd have spent around $15 and we walked out spending well over $20. A caveat: There are two items, a dollar apart in price, both feature hash and eggs but the lesser priced one includes baked beans (not worth it). However, even though I had made note of the discrepancy, our waitress charged for the higher priced one and when I brought it to her attention, the cashier kindly removed the dollar. Also, not sure why a bottomless mug of coffee needs to be priced at $1.99 - it's probably not a premium brand that is offered and I would venture to guess that most folks stop at two cups. It always bothers me when being seated for breakfast and the waitress states "can I get you anything else besides water" and we automatically reply "coffee" that there is no mention of cost. I guess it's on the menu but the price varies so wildly from establishment to establishment. Dysart's will always deliver decent food by hardworking people but seem to bump up the prices because they know they can get it.

Dysart's is awesome. Very extensive menu, and the fact that the food is homemade makes it that much more delicious. Last time I went I had the steak tips; I know that steak tips at a truck stop don't sound like they'd be great, but these were awesome. I was very surprised! My only critique is that I would recommend getting some decorative blinds so people don't feel like they're eating in the middle of a parking lot. If you like a quiet, upscale atmosphere, this is not your place. If you're not above seeing trucks gas up while you eat and pouring your own water out of a picture, you've got to try it here. Best of all, it's open 24/7!

I have family that has worked for this company for years and years. We are about 7 states away, but travel to Bangor atleast yearly. Dysart's is a must-have the minute we arrive in Bangor, which is typically at breakfast time. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner....all delicious. The prices have gone up a bit over the last few years, but the food is well worth it. The service is typically excellent, and the place stays busy. Worth the wait! I can't wait til my next trip north!

Great diner food. Strangely, 2/3 of the restaurant was closed off for no apparent reason. But the food was still really good. My friend and I went last night and she got cheesesteak and crinkly fries, and I got the chicken tenders with homestyle fries. Her cheesesteak was awesome, my tenders were okay. Crinkly fries were much better than the curly IMO. For dessert she got the chocolate cream pie and I got the coconut cream pie. The chocolate cream pie looked like it would be milk chocolate but was actually dark chocolate. The coconut cream pie was more like regular pie with coconut shavings on top. Going to go back to try the banana cream pie. This place would get 5 stars if our waitress had been more competent. She was nice, but it took forever just to get to order our desserts. She would go in and out of the kitchen multiple times and not come over to us. Will still go back because of the high quality of the food though.

Dysart's is the kind of place I wish I had in my city. This truck stop has great food, friendly service, and apt decor. My husband and I shared the fried potatoes with bacon and cheese appetizer, meatloaf with gravy all over, and a necessary piece of blueberry pie. The potato thing was okay--not the best I've ever had. The meatloaf was exactly what you expect, but in a good way. It was moist and mostly breadcrumbs, onions, and beef. And the blueberry pie was definitely tasty. The generous filling wasn't overly sweet and the crust was great. Dining at Dysart's was a great experience and I'd recommend it to anyone in the area! Passing through or otherwise.

Dysart's was absolutely amazing, from the food to the service, everything just went nicely and accordingly. The boyfriend and I came extremely hungry and knew Dysart's will fulfill that hunger satisfyingly. The restaurant was quite big and roomy, it's your typical diner atmosphere. The waitresses were very friendly and the service was great. After placing our order, I wandered into the restroom which was extremely clean and it was attached to the Dysart's shop which you can get anything related to your car (how convenient). The food came out in a good manner of time. Started off with some bread and it was so pillowy and good, add some butter and I would've been satisfied with just that for the night. I ordered the Wannabe Logger Burger which is a smaller version of the actual Loggerburger that packs a pound of beef in the patty. My wannabe was smaller, 6 oz, but it was delicious. Your basic burger ingredients of lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, cheese, mine had bacon and onion rings to top it off; they even had in-house mayo which was out of this world. My other half ordered Meatloaf which was very comforting, the portion was huge though. Our entrees came with 2 sides, we got spinach-clean and simple which I'm sure they steamed, coleslaw-insanely good with the crunch and a light dressing, salad-easy and refreshing, and finally curly fries-wasn't great at all and got cold and hard pretty quickly. And if that wasn't enough we had a side of Fried Clam Belly, full of meat and a nice crunch, paired with delicious tartar sauce and it was the best perfect meal. Dysart's is know for their desserts, especially pies but we leaned towards a Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp with ice cream and it ended in bliss perfection. I've had their whoopie pie once and it was unforgettable, so before we left, we got a whoopie for the road. I would definitely recommend Dysart's. It was simple food done right.

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants and I've been there for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and 1am food runs. Unfortunately each time I go the prices seem to rise and the food seems a little worse then before. Many things are still amazing though like the pies, whoopie pies, subs, and poutine. My favorite is the hot thanksgiving sandwich but lately it has been dry turkey and the stuffing has been very dry as well. Still worth the visit and you'll be full when you leave, but kind of hit or miss at times.

All I can say is chicken pot pie. No reason to get anything else. It's sort of what they're known for and there's a reason they gained popularity with truckers and then locals because of these awesome pies. Portion size is out of control and you hardly pay a thing when you look at all the food you get. When you're hungry, and/or when you're on the road, make time for this place.

Cinnamon Roll... over in your grave. You'll be dead if you eat one by yourself. Ask for both the glaze and the frosting on the side. It's a truckers' diner first, and they show it by dedicating a banquet table to the solo beacons of the US roadway grid. But on every table, you'll find excessive quantities of handmade breakfasts, lunches, and that third meal that nobody talks about anymore. But let's talk about what's going on past the wagon of baked goods, beyond the aforementioned Trucker Table, and around the corner from the gigantic bottles of industrial engine lubricants: an actual arcade. For two shiny Washington heads, you can pinball with Shrek, blast the aliens of Area 51 or claw game an impossible-to-get, offbrand MP3 player. Yes, all of those things still exist. And they exist here. Almost the entire menu is available for takeout, so you really have no excuse not to grab one of every whoopie pie, or replace a missing hubcap with the epic, doughy cinnamon roll. Make your mama proud.

The absolute best diner food you will get in Maine. They serve the best breakfast with super big portions of home cooked food. If you're gluten free they do have a gluten free bread option that is so good you won't believe it's gluten free! Make sure to get some pie as well!

Driving back from a weekend in Bar Harbor, I was desperate for some comfort food. Dysart's is right off the highway, with a HUGE menu of breakfast, lunch and dinner options. Service was beyond friendly, and the portions are huge. Don't expect anything fancy, but they cook up some amazing diner-style food here. This will be my go-to stop whenever I'm driving Downeast again.

I wish I could recommend eating here. The waitstaff is great, cooks do a good job. Food is decent and cheap. But the open contempt that management has to its employees in cringe inducing. Dysarts recently came out against an increase of the minimum wage because they felt potential hires were not worth it. Unable to support this business.

This was the only place open in Maine after 9pm during the week, so we had no choice. I am so glad!!! This place is amazing. Definitely a Truckers Diners you can tell because the food is delicious, large portions, served quickly with a smile. What a find. We will absolutely be back next time we are in Maine

Love it.

A true truck stop with great food and waitresses. Never had better pie (especially the banana cream) or from scratch corn beef hash at any restaurant. Breakfast any time of day too, so if you don't see corn beef hash on the menu later in the day just ask for a breakfast menu.

Literally.

As others have mentioned, you can get breakfast at Dysart's at any time of the day. I don't think I have ordered anything else here. I recommend the omelets. In addition to the restaurant, there is also a 24 hour store that caters to truckers, and of course gas and diesel fuel.

Wow they really changed since the last time I went, which was about two years ago. This place used to be super eclectic and downright odd, but I loved it. It's all fancy and high end now.

The grand gobbler sandwich is amazing! You get a huge portion of real carved turkey breast on soft fresh baked bread with some of the best stuffing I've ever had. This sandwich is glorious! The service was very friendly and prompt. I love it here :)

My husband loves this place for breakfast. I'm not really a fan... Nothing healthy here I used to go here when I was in college for a cheap meal. I will say though, that I had a grilled biscuit and it was perfect.

This was the only place open in Maine after 9pm during the week, so we had no choice. I am so glad!!! This place is amazing. Definitely a Truckers Diners you can tell because the food is delicious, large portions, served quickly with a smile. What a find. We will absolutely be back next time we are in Maine

Love it.
