Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Awesome sandwiches and pizza. Great variety to choose from as well. Friendly staff who get the job done in a quick fashion, especially considering they are super busy every day around lunch time. It's a comfortable place to eat and and take the family. Also great to order in early and get something for later on in the work day. I have never been disappointed.

..and then came along the lobster roll. As resident Mainer here in Cambridge, my friends regularly ask me where my favorite lobster roll can be purchased. This question is terribly difficult.. I'm a whole-lobster gal and am generally disappointed anywhere that serves the roll. To best enjoy lobster, you gotta eat the whole thing.. preferably next to the ocean on a picnic table with a plastic bib around my front. Many people near Cambridge say that Neptune has the best roll but it's way too expensive for not a ton of meat. ..and then came Damon's. We are in Maine. Augusta. Not somewhere you would typically travel to unless maybe you're doing business or something. Or better yet: you live there. But the lobster roll at Damon's is hands-down the best lobster roll I've ever had and I don't think you could beat it. WHY? I will tell you. 1. Best bang for your buck. $20 for a 1/2 lb clear lobster meat sandwich. 2. They dress to your liking (you can get it plain, a little bit of mayo, a lot of mayo, whatever you like at no additional charge). 3. The roll at Damon's is so good and soft and you can get it toasted or not toasted. I was so excited about the different options and the kick-ass price, that I totally blanked on how I would normally take the lobster roll.. So I opted for light on the mayo and bun not toasted. SO GOOD. Okay, your turn!!

If you're going to get a lobster roll; you should probably head to McDonalds. We were told it would be quick. 25 to 30 minutes later with my Grandma waiting on the car on her 86th birthday we got our 2nd lobstah roll because they messed the first one up. This place was so good growing up; rude service to boot.

Stayed at Augusta, ME last week . My clients recommendded this place for lobster roll. It's really good. This place like a sandwich store or food market but with a simple dine in area. I ordered lobster roll to go and finished it at my hotel. It is really good, with lots of lobster meat and it was fresh. Maybe all lobsters are fresh in Maine :) Good food, I am sure that I will visit there again next time I got this client !

A classic New England sandwich shop. Chicken parm sandwich is great, burgers, pizza, and fries are good too. Staff are always friendly and location right on Western Avenue is very convenient.

Good food and fast delivery. Burgers and the chicken wings hit the spot...if you are in the area it is recommended.

Employees were friendly, but the Ham and cheese sub sub I ordered was awful. My sandwich consisted of a thick slice of gross fake ham similar to Subway, american cheese of the packed supermarket variety, iceberg lettuce, in an oversized New England hot dog bun. It amazes me that an institution that has been around for so long would find it acceptable to use such poor ingredients. I prefer to support local businesses but, I wound up throwing the entire sub away and buying a new sub from Tim Hortons. It's amazing that a chain restaurant served me a far superior sub.

Yuck spaghetti is kept in a warmer and the sauce is watery. Food here is overpriced overrated and, then advertise they have been around since 1955 or something that's nothing to be proud of that just means they have been serving really bland gross food for a really long time in the absence of any competition thought it seems like they keep going strong. Stop by Damon's if you want some gross food

Yummy lobster rolls and Reubens. If you get basket take a friend. Tons of fries and good too. My guilty, unhealthy pleasure when I'm in Maine.

Stopped here today for lunch of a recommendation from a local...which is the way to go when your kind of in the middle of no where. This place is good...they are known for their italian subs...thats what I got and it was really good. Def recommend.

pretty good lobster roll! good amount of mayo and even a little bit spiced, unlike to more plain lobster rolls from places that hug the coast. we also got a big dave (italian sub [though it's on a circle bun, at least the smallest size]) and that was a pretty good sandwich too. the toasting really does it and their bread is baked daily. the people working there were also very nice and helpful with recommendations.

This is the best Lobster Roll I have ever had. Far from fancy, the basic toasted white bread bun, lettuce, and mayo simply act as a textural backdrop for the exceptional lobster. I was taken here while on business by a local, and out of all the traveling I did in Maine this felt the most authentic experience. For the record, I got the Lobster Roll Basket, toasted and with mayo and lettuce. The basket came with tons of fries and a very good coleslaw.

I love this place. I used to live right down the street from this place. I love their chicken basket. Haven't been here in years though ):

It's decent food nothing to talk about, if you got time to waist then go here service is slow... I ordered the ham hero or "Italian" it wasn't on hero bun like I assumed it would be but rather an oversize hot dog bun, resulting in the veggies and meats landing on the wrapper when I picked it up. The bagel shop up the road has far better deli sandwiches and they use Boris Head meats, not your cheap deli meats like this place.

I try to "eat local" but this place is awful. Maybe if I weren't Italian. Sauceless pizza with gobs of (real?) cheese. Subs with canned veggies on white bread. Blecch. Subway is right across the street and plenty of authentic pizza options elsewhere.

I've been eating here since the early 70's. For me it's a mandatory stop when within 150 miles of Augusta. The italians set the standard, oh yes i will be back.

I thought this place was lousy! We had heard from reading that it was popular with the locals. I don't know why. I ordered the steak sandwich. The meat was dry and tough, the cheese was skimpy, the pepper were burned. My husband ordered a ham italian. The ham was so thin you could read through it and only one piece. The lettuce had wilted and brown edges, and the whole thing was in my opinion overpriced. We won't be back for sure....

Damon's is a pretty good place. The cheeseburger basket is very good and its usually fast and friendly service. Damon's is the same as Whippers

Damons is the local counterpart to subway. Many more options to choose from, but (in my opinion) not that great. Some coworkers like the steak and cheese subs, but to me they just seem dry. I wish their sandwiches would come with fries, chips, a pickle, anything! I hate having to order that separately.

Great subs. Nice folks.

I can't tell you how the food is here because I walked out almost as fast as I walked in. The girl at the cash register was handling money, then proceeded to make a cold sandwich. Then she took a wet rag and went over and wiped down a couple of tables. Placing one hand on the dirty table while another hand was wiping. Then right back to the sandwich counter where she was grabbing tomatoes and lettuce and bread. That's filthy practice in my book so we left. Why the two stars instead of no stars?....well, friends later told me that this is the norm in the state of Maine and that there are very bad standards of cleanliness in the state. So I guess I can't blame the restaurant if the health inspector says it's okay. At least your table will be nicely cleaned with a dirty rag, and your change at the counter will smell like pickles and onions!

As I saw their board outside with Pizza offer, I went in for Pizza. It was not anything great. I would say Dominos or Pizza Hut makes better pizza. I'll go once for Lobster Roll as others left a comment as that is the best. If so, I'll change my comment regarding Damons.
