The Augusta House of Pancakes sets a high bar in the region for service and value. Their stuffed crepes are amazing and some of their other signature dishes - the "Big Bob," for example - are delicious and big enough to fill you up for the day. It's not the fanciest place in the world, but the staff are amazingly friendly and the cost is insanely low. My wife and I have made going out to breakfast here a weekly tradition.

I was a little hesitant to come here based on the reviews. I am glad that I gave it a chance. It's not a fancy restaurant, but the servers are all friendly and the food was good. It's a typical small diner. I had scrambled eggs, bacon and pancakes. I have no complaints about any if it. The coffee is very good too. If work brings me back to Augusta, this will be my "go to" breakfast spot.

Cash only. Not bad, not planned, just happened to find this on yelp on our way back from the middle of Maine. The food was decent and not too expensive and the service was pretty quick. Kinda reminded me of an IHOP sort of.

While visiting family in Maine, we took grandma to her favorite breakfast stop - the Augusta House of Pancakes. It's an average breakfast place with all the fixings. The portions are large, the service is fast, the waitresses will call you hon'. The atmosphere is a little bland, though.

The best home fries, always good service...even in busy mornings. But cash only, so it's kind of inconvenient.

So heading home we needed to find a place for get breakfast. No one every wants to eat at a rest stop so with a little help from a gas station employee we found this place. My yelp app wasn't working...just saying. We walked in and I glanced at the specials on the wall but nothing popped out for me. So if you go to a pancake house, why wouldn't you order pancakes right? So that's what I ordered with a side of bacon. Other dishes ordered at the table was more pancakes and eggs, a breakfast burrito, and more eggs with a bagel. The pancakes were worth the stop in my opinion. I didn't hear anything bad about the rest of the food either from my breakfast guests. I will say this skip the home fries...they are bland and over cooked. The price of breakfasts are cheap here too, compare to the what you are getting. I would stop again if in the area.

Great breakfast place! I got the Paul Bunyan breakfast for about $10 and it could easily feed a family if four. I love the Stephen King booth!

(score 1-100) - 70. This is a place on Western Ave that you might just drive by if you weren't looking for it. Don't let the modest appearance of this place fool you. The seats and chairs, tables in this place look like they've been here for at least 30 plus years as well as the decor but we're not here for ambience. The food is mostly homemade and very very inexpensive. You can have your whole breakfast for under 5 bucks! TIP: Get the Breakfast Platter which is 6.95. It is enough for two people. It is 2 of everything, you will be full and satisfied! 7 bucks for 2 people!!! wow

Can't say that the food is the best food I have ever had but it is functional. I had the cinnamon roll, which wasn't bad but not the best. My partner had the biggest meal on the menu which was ridiculous! Pancakes, french toast, sausage, bacon, potatoes, who knows what else...tons of food. For the price I will definitely be coming back. The service was a little slow but really polite, I think she was the only one on shift. If you need a decent meal for a good price then this is your place.

I love AHOP! Breakfast here is incredible and cheap. They keep your coffee cup full and get your food out in a jiff. The decor is interesting - lots of cat paintings but who cares when the food is so tasty. Breakfast is typical greasy diner fare but it really hits the spot and you get so much for your money.

A close walk (about a half a mile) from the Augusta airport, the AHOP is just the breakfast place for an inexpensive breakfast served quickly by the friendly staff. Coffee was served up quickly and my cup was never less than half full, until I said I was done - fearing the potential impact of a 2 hour flight home. Both I and my friend had the breakfast platter; 2 eggs, 2 French Toast or Pancakes, and either Bacon, Canadian Bacon, Sausage or grilled Kielbasa. And all for only $6.95. As a breakfast restaurant, I rate it four stars for excellent price, selection and service. I'll definitely add AHOP to my flight destinations - but next time I have to try the lunch, today I could have had a selection of homemade soups - all sounding great.

Not sure why this place got such meh reviews on Yelp, because we found it to be perfectly delightful. Fast, friendly, accurate service; delicious blueberry pancakes, yummy breakfast burrito, killer french toast, and hooooboy, the thick-cut bacon was great! The atmosphere is homey, perfectly clean, and comfortable. Our table of 7 adults for a Sunday breakfast came to $50; how can you go wrong?

Went for breakfast this morning. I had an omelet (meatlovers). It was excellent. Also they server good Green Mountain coffee which is always good. Service was good and attentive.

Just amazing as always. And gingerbread flavored coffee?! Yup!!

This place is just ok. I remember when it was quite a bit cheaper to eat there and the last time I was there it wasn't all that cheap. Portions are the same with the price hiked up.

Just spent half the night awake and puking my guts out thanks to this place. We dined there for breakfast yesterday morning. Our server was delightful and efficient, the only bright point to the experience. I couldn't help but notice the shabby outdated decor, which would have been fine for a landmark type establishment, except everything was covered in a thick layer of dust. Cleaning is clearly not a priority. I ordered the Bourbon Street special, pulled pork, baked beans, cornbread and eggs. The pork looked more like jerky it was so dried out. It tasted like cat food. The server brought out a dish of warm BBQ sauce to top it with. It was over tangy and over spicy, it was unlike any other BBQ sauce I have ever tasted, and not in a good way. The cornbread and eggs were ok, but I did not eat much of the pork. My boyfriend had an egg scramble dish. He did not finish it, which is odd for him. A few hours later, we both noticed we were feeling very uncomfortable and sick to our stomachs. I won't go in to graphic detail on how the rest of the day went, not good! He managed to be feeling ok by bedtime. Not me. Early this morning I stumbled out after a night spent at one with the great white throne, and we both swore out loud....NEVER again to dine at the AHOP.

The food was ok but the place was old and dirty!!! Not going there again!!

This place gets a 3 (plus). C'mon, it's pancakes and breakfast food. It just can't be that bad.

I've only visited once and had a basic breakfast. The food was good but the service was great. I'll stop by again to try more menu items. Just have to remember to bring cash.

I have been going here summers for over thirty years. I will never be back. I stayed up the street and was very happy I would be going to this establishment in the morning. Pancakes cooked in some sort of grease.....Same grease used to butter the toast. Bacon was ok. Coffee was not. Just a weird, downgraded event far from their heyday and an embarrassment that they are still open and now serving slop. Staff was excellent though. Very sad experience and ruined many good memories of my childhood in Maine.
