We came to Lighthouse sound without a reservation and apparently that was the WRONG move! The hostess and server that greeted us both looked offended that we had shown up with out a reservation! M The food, while presented well was sub-par and please for gods sake DON'T GET THE GARLIC MASHED POTATOES!!! Our sever how ever was wonderful! He knew his craft and was a delight to talk to! Thank you again Stephen! You were wonderful!

Visited the Lighthouse on an off-season Sunday for brunch. The venue is fantastic. The view was stupendous. The service was great. (Thank you, Stephen.) The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. I look forward to visiting for dinner. Highly recommended for brunch!

We had a restaurant.com coupon and came for lunch. Food was excellent. Had the Tuscan chicken sandwich. Atmosphere could not be beat. Will be back.

We visited on a weekday evening after Labor Day and the restaurant was not crowded. The weather was clear and the view from our table was a panorama of the bay and Ocean City skyline. Our food was quite good but not spectacular and it was served in a timely manner with courtesy and attention. We did not order appetizers, wine or dessert and the price for our dinners was quite reasonable. Also, we were given (as in free) large chocolate-chip cookies which were excellent. It proved to be a very nice evening and the best restaurant experience we had in our week near Ocean Pines. I would recommend this restaurant for a low-key relaxing dinner in a beautiful environment. Dress is casual or dressy - a white table cloth and cloth napkins place.

Beautiful setting and views but that is where the good ends. We stopped in for brunch and our food once served, was cold, old, and burnt; from eggs to potatoes. I mentioned one of the major issues to the server; which she acknowledged and obviously knew before she even served us; however, she made no attempt to remedy anything. Price point is on the mark but there are many other options in the area that are so much better and still have lovely views. Last note....they SERIOUSLY need a better water filtration system. Being so close to the wet lands and river they like every other place have to deal with sulfur smell/taste in the water. My advice...If you can't get a better filtration system then serve bottles water to your guests!!

The Lighthouse Restaurant is a place that you can imagine would have amazing food because of the spectacular view of the Ocean City skyline and marshland. However, time and time again, years pass, and still we travel back to this restaurant hoping for a miracle... The service is extremely poor. They do not have enough wait staff to adequately serve customers. On our latest visit, we waited over five minutes to be greeted and offered our first drinks. After dinner, we waited twenty minutes before our plates were taken away. If the food was even remotely amazing, I could have overlooked the service a bit. But alas, that was not the case! We started off with calamari for the table as an appetizer. The calamari was not cooked long enough and the breaded coating was falling off. It looked like they threw the calamari into the frier and squirted on some batter and threw it on a plate. Horrible! We were not even brought out appetizer plates! I had the Alaskan Halibut. It was a generous portion of fish, but it had what tasted like old dried herbs from your dead grandmother's cabinet on top. It was edible, but nothing to write home about. The best part about my meal was the potato au gratin...sorry, but not worth the $28.00 price!! I am happy to pay for a quality dinner, but this was not even worth half of the price. Another person in our party had a seafood platter. The crab cake was the only thing that looked that it had been made there. The shrimp and oysters looked as if they came straight from the freezer a la' Mrs. Paul's! It is sad to say in this area of all you can eat fests, patrons seem to not expect much at restaurants here. However, if this was in a metro area of DC, Bmore, or Philly, this would be unacceptable and close quickly!

Our first visit was 9/8/12 and if we lived nearby we'd return often! They had a special two-can-dine-for-$59.00 on the menu which included a meal complete with a bottle of wine and a HUGE dessert to split (and we still could not finish the bread pudding with ice cream. Achingly good!) 8 oz sirloin was perfection with asparagus the Cadillac of vegetables. Better than average crabcake. Our dinner mate polished off the seared tuna down to the mark on the back of the china! I think you can assume he liked it. The other highlight was the LIVE entertainment, Suzette Prichett. What an unexpected privilege to be in her presence! Her voice was so powerful and versatile yet controlled. She kept the volume at a pleasing level so we could enjoy her performance as well as the food and our companions. Her choice of songs was very suitable to the clientele. Not quit sure why she is in OC area rather than Broadway or Hollywood but they are very lucky to have her! There is one distraction at this fine restaurant: the cookie tray that makes its way to each table towards the end of the meal! And they are everything you'd want in a choc-chip cookie. Service is top notch and respectfully friendly. Great clientele and lovely interior and ambiance.

Never had anything but a great experience here. Norm is a great waiter. Always professional and attentive. Always greeted by Chef Tracy and given warm cookies!!! Prices are reasonable. View is possibly the best of any place at the beach. Love their scalloped potatoes....great bread pudding. Took my parents for Father's Day. Great singer. They loved it and we had another great meal.

Rude manager. Arrived with party of 4 was told no seating at all available. I explained Open Table had reservations open for every 15 minutes for the next hour and a half. He said sorry nothing. I went to car and was booked and confirmed using Open Table. Of course I refused to return and went elsewhere.

This place is awesome; the restaurant is by the water and in a wide open golf land. You would feel special even if you don't know how to golf. The menu is few selection but you will find food in the menu that you will like. We ordered the fish and chips, sandwich, soup (ooopps!) and white chocolate bread pudding with vanilla ice cream. It's worth a trip while you are in OC; this is a must!

The place is beautiful. You pull up and you feel like your on the set of the TV show 'REVENGE'. The servers quickly got us an outside table where we were able to enjoy the view of ocean city and the gold course. We got some appetizers that were good then we got some sorbet to cleaned out pallet which was delicious. Quick thing : Whatever you do don't get the Parmesan covered potatoes. They are not good and have no cheese it's terrible. I got the stuffed chicken which was an ok plate and would def do it again just wish it was hotter when I got it. Numerous people cane and checked up on is to make sure everything was fine. Would definitely come back.

(7/19/2015) Went to a wedding at the Restaurant at Lighthouse Sound. It's a nice little space, we were fairly well-tended, if with a little attitude and surliness, but really, how many teenagers want to spend their summers waiting tables at a golf course. Some kind of GM in a loud Hawaiian shirt also gave a lot of attitude. Service was efficient though, plated and cleared quickly, stayed pretty much out of our way, well-timed pouring of champagne for the toast. Food was fresh, enjoyed the Salad Station where you could choose your own toppings and dressings (labels for the dressings would've been nice, though). Hot food was piping hot, petite filets were cooked as specified. Was sufficiently seasoned, excessively buttery (thought I'd never say that). Gazebo and grounds made for lovely pictures. Not a bad place to have a wedding if you live on the Eastern Shore or are in the area for a week-long vacation. NOTE: did see at least 2 A/C ducts dripping condensation on to food service areas.

I would not recommend this place. The food was so bad. Where to begin...first of all, we waited 50 minutes for our food. When it came, almost everything was cold. My mashed potatoes were cold and dry and hard (you know how they get crusty when they sit for too long?) and there were a total of (wait for it) FOUR asparagus on my plate. FOUR!! The chicken itself was hot but it was extremely bland with no flavor. My father in law go the same meal as me and his experience was the same. When the manager came to see if everything was good, I told him about the potatoes and he seemed lost on what to do. He said, "Okay...what do you want me to do? Fresh potatoes?" YES, that's what I'd like. Is that too much to ask? It just seems like when you pay this much, the food should at least be FRESH!! When the potatoes came back, they were hot, but I am not sure whether he just put them in the microwave. My husband got the tuna - was cold and small, but well-seasoned. My mother-in-law got the shrimp scampi (she originally ordered ribs but they were out of those) and she said it was cold but otherwise tasty. My son got a cheeseburger and fries and the fries were also cold. Lucky for him, he's 3 so he doesn't care. The best part of the experience was the ambience (it's seriously beautiful) and the free cookies at the end. I will never go back. The next day we went to a small cafe in Ocean City and for half the price, we got fresh tuna steaks and hot creamy mashed potatoes that were ready in about 15 minutes. Not sure why I paid Lighthouse sound twice as much for crappy food. I'm still bitter about it, but I will never go back and I can't ever recommend this place to anyone.

This place is a joke. I came here for the Easter buffet and they had barley anything. There were 9 bins of picked over food. We were prided dinner but, I guess they consider what they gave us dinner. Not even sure why we made a reservation when no one was there and I can see why.

We went here for the first time over the weekend while visiting OC. The view was magnificent and the food was delicious. We ordered the calamari, crab cakes, and NY strip. Everything came out perfect including the creme brûlée and cheesecake! I was pleasantly surprised by the complementary raspberry sorbet served between dishes and cookies at the end of an already amazing meal. The host and server were very friendly. It was such a great experience and we were impressed with the quality of the food and service we received despite being from out of town and using a restaurant.com certificate. I rarely give 5 stars but I am happy to recommend this place to everyone! Thank you for providing exceptional services and making our first visit a memorable experience!

We are long-time patrons who have loved dining at Lighthouse Sound. So when we had a really mediocre meal there least night, and really awful service, the four of us wondered "what happened?" It was a good 15 minutes before the waitress even approached our table, though the restaurant was not full. We waited nearly 45 minutes for our dinner. When we asked her about the meal (by literally almost shouting as she rushed past trying not to look at us), her answer was -unbelievably - "it has nothing to do with me; I don't do the cooking." Our food was all marginally warm, as though it had been plated and sitting for quite some time. The prime rib was "awful," the rockfish was dry, the veal was like cardboard, and shrimp scampi featured about a half-pound of fettuccine and 5 medium-small shrimp. This is a beautiful venue and has had good food and lovely service. Not so much. We would love to keep it on our list, but not after last night.

Went here for our anniversary, had the seafood primavera and the scallops were so flavorful! Staff was very knowledgable and professional, the view is a MUST see!

The most beautiful, scenic golf course in OC. Also the most expensive. All the golf attendants were first class. What was very noticeable was the lack of attention to detail for a "world Class" club. Garbage was overflowing at the front entrance. Bathrooms were dirty with trash overflowing. We intentionally went early to have lunch at the bar a watch football. What a fiasco it was. Poor Ashley, the bartender, was running around like a chicken with her head cut off. She couldn't have been nicer. The kitchen was so slow it was ridiculous. All she could do was continually apologize. She was the only person working the entire room. A women who appeared to be the manager would occasionally come in the help put out fires. Usually comp'ing the irate customer. Then she would disappear into the empty main dining room. Our food was awful. The crab dip was terrible. My father had the Maryland crab soup. It didn't even look like Maryland crab soup. The should be ashamed just for that soup. Soggy French fries. Terrible coleslaw. Crab cake sandwich was mediocre at best. I have eaten hear a handful of times. Always have thought that the food was average. For the price you are paying it should be much better. This should be a world class restaurant to match a top 100 golf course in the country. I would have to blame the management of the club house to allow it to be so sloppy in so many ways. I would not recommend eating here
