We eat here all the time even though they fired my daughter on her day off. Food is consistently delicious. A bit pricey, but they are always giving back to the community to make up for it. Wish they were open after 2pm. Try the gunny burger, it is a fresh burger with egg and cheese on it.

Rarely do I enjoy a restaurant with a theme, but Trout's does it right. The theme is military service, and they go all the way with it. Opened by a vet, Trout's has tributes to our service men and women all over the restaurant: from portraits on the wall, to the red white and blue curtains, to displays of medals, to pictures of famous generals and leaders, to the names of dishes on their menu (Ranger Omelet Hooahh!). There was even a nice painting in the ladies room of a solider reading a card huddled somewhere on duty, and you look closer to see it's a mother's day card and the solider is a lady solider. Kinda touching, but I'm a softy. I say, if you're doing a theme you have to go all in on it, and Trout's definitely does. On to the food, I had a veggie omelet which was huge, very filling, and well prepared, and came with grits and a biscuit. Definitely get an order of breakfast potatoes with onions because they are freaking amazing. No seriously, you have to try these things. Coffee was also good..... basically everything here is good, including the service. Our waitress was so friendly, checked on us often and made us feel welcomed. Open every day until 2 PM, if you're in the area you should stop by Trout's.

Best breakfast in the area. The Coasty Omelette is loaded with crab meat. Great potatoes too.

This is absolutely hands down my favorite breakfast spot. The food is amazingly good and extremely well priced. Everything I've had there I've enjoyed, but the ranger omelet is my go to. All of the staff is very friendly and accommodating of my son and his picky eating requirements. We come out from Frederick whenever we can!

This is a re-review, as my original review ended up in Dingo Junction, aka the new reviewer limbo. As a result, this is a small review. Having ate here in the pre-Trout days, I always found the country cooking to be good, so when Trouts took over the restaurant a few years ago, I had to sample it again. Since the new ownership, I have had the chance to eat here on quite a few occasions since. On my last visit. this past Memorial Day, I went with an all time safe pick, a bacon cheeseburger and fries. As always the fries were hot however salt had to be added to suit one's taste. This is to be expected. To go with the fries, the bacon cheeseburger was cooked well, and the cheese was plentiful and melted. Bacon was well cooked. For desert a huge slice of pie. All for ten bucks, it was a good meal, cooked well, and would eat there again. then again, I always do.

I take my kids here as our normal Sunday breakfast. The cooks are pretty flexible and will make anything to order. I typically order a 7 veggie EGG WHITE omelet. It's a specific request, but one that is always met with a smile. The service has always been wonderful, and the food is always perfectly prepared. It is small though, if you have a group larger than 5, be prepared to wait if it's during a "peak" time. Most of the tables are only made for 4, a 5th can be added to the end of the booths, but 6 would require two tables be put together. That's not a complaint though, just a fact. Bottom line, anytime somebody is looking for a local mom and pop shop with good local food, I always send them here.

Good stick to your ribs food. Coffee's good. Eggs good. Omelets good. I like the USA decor. Very patriotic and reminiscent of the civil war, the cradle of which you are in at Trouts. Good eats!

So this is the type of dining establishment to which your grandparents might take you for dinner. Ergo, the only vegetarian entree appears to be grilled cheese. And to answer your question, no I am not ass enough to fancy such a place as a vegetarian's paradise, so I'm not complaining. Just noting that I am not really in position to judge the food, aside from the perfectly adequate grilled cheese and fries. In Trout's favor, the waitress could not have been any friendlier, and I suspect the food was decent...I know it was affordable. Looked like a lot of regulars in Woodsboro eat there. There's something nice about going somewhere old-fashioned every now and then. If you are in the area and looking for homemade dessert and country-fried steak in a military/patriotic-themed environment, give Trout's a whirl! It's not all bad, I tell you...

The chicken is un freaking believable! It is the best I've ever had. The side's were great too! Was lucky to sample their fare at a Golf benefit given by this great Automation Control company. It's worth the drive.

Best of the best for old town, country breakfast food. Pancakes, french toast, home fries, fruit, omelettes are simply just amazing. I ordered a side of bacon today with my pancake and they gave me 6 pieces! The prices are dirt cheap, and the servers seem like they genuinely enjoy working there...such a rarity now a days! Weekend mornings can be busy, but that just shows just how much of a rapport they have with the community. Great little small town place!
