I have a secret lover, and it's pizza. When I say its great, I'm not exaggerating. Nothing says authentic like greasy, cheesy pizza. Extra pepperoni? You read my mind! It was so wrong, but a much needed break from the 'salad struggle'. With an undesirable urge, I walked in quickly, wore sunglasses to avoid any work colleagues, and devoured in a nearby parking space. Felt so dirty, but it was so worth it. Buongiorno, until we meet again...

Well If I could give this please no stars I would. Bought a slice of pizza here used the crushed red pepper. I ate half the pizza and was just mindlessly played with the crushed pepper shaker. I open it and to my surprise there was a dead fly in it. I went to the owner and told him. He got angry gave me my money back and told me never to come back. The nerve to not apologize, but to instead make it seem like I did something wrong. He didn't have to tell me never to come back, that was needless to be said. I will be calling the Health Department. Who knows what other violations are happening at this place. DO NOT EAT HERE!!!

Bongiorno is a casual Italian themed venue, located in an area with limited dining options. In addition to pizza, they have salad, sandwiches/wraps, and a variety of pasta dishes. The atmosphere is very informal but the food is decent. I think the pizza is okay, but actually enjoy the sandwiches and other items better. The staff is nice and though it can get a little crowded at times, I consider it a decent option for lunch.

I got the white pizza. It's not the greatest, but I'm satisfied. Very friendly environment. I'll probably return.

I originally wanted to go eat at Kin's deli, But Kin's grill was down and only were serving cold sandwiches which I dislike it.... I walked next door to Buongorino and looked at the menu then ordered Cheese Steak Sub combo for $9.99 it was ready less than 10 min, hot and tasty, sub roll was soft and warm I really enjoyed! However I didn't like the fries much.. The service was good and inside was very clean and a friendly girl was cleaning the tables and floors. It was a good place to eat in and recommend it to people for take out or dine-in!

I ordered 3 things. A cheesesteak with everything except hots, a slice of pepperoni and mushroom pizza and chicken alfredo. The pizza and alfredo were for snack and dinner. The cheesesteak was delicious but not enough steak for me. There was a "salad" (lettuce and tomato) piled on top which outweigh the steak. I was kind of disappointed but the sub was delicious. Not going to stop me from getting them either. LOL. The pizza was good. Loads of mushroom and a few pepperoni. I am a pepperoni woman. Now the chicken alfredo...THE BOMB. SO DELICIOUS. Could have used more sauce though. Overall, it was worth the trip and my first time too..and they know if you are a newbie...lol. A co worker and I sat next to a gentlemen who said he eats there everyday and recommended the wings so I will be trying them next time.

Best pizza in the area! I can't get enough of the veggie white - seriously. The white pizza by itself is also delicious, but a lot more greasy. They also have awesome sweet tea and the ice are those easy to crunch little spheres of coldness - my favorite! There is also lemonade next to the sweet tea, which is good for mixing occasionally to get an Arnold Palmer. The people that work there can be a little pushy if you don't know what you want right away and its busy - but are generally nice. I tried a salad once, which was fine and I've heard the calzones are decent - but if you go, try the pizza first - its why they stay busy!

Best pizza in the area hands down! My wife and I come every week for our pizza night! The staff are friendly and nice! Their cannoli is delicious too!

One of the best places to grab lunch in the Woodlawn area, but the secret is out so avoid prime lunch hours if you want to get a table. Great selection of pizzas by the slice and fresh salads. Try their house vinaigrette, it's delicious! I really need to try the pastas and subs, I've heard good things and plan to check them out soon. The tiny parking lot at this strip fills up quickly so keep that in mind. Also I feel the pizza by the slice prices are a bit high, but this isn't CiCis so I just deal with it. They do have a great pick up special on Mondays....I believe it's $11 for an extra large cheese.

These guys are really good for a little pizza/pasta joint. They rattle on in Italian while watching soccer matches on the television behind the service counter. They serve an excellent New York-style pizza and the pasta plates are piled high. Salads and sandwiches are really good. There selection is large, the food is excellent the prices are pretty reasonable. That makes me a regular here.

I agree with an earlier poster, the crust had a funny, undesirable taste. Good amount of toppings and good price.

Best new york style pizza, great subs. Must hit lunch spot!

One of the only decent places to eat in Woodlawn. The buon giorno salad, pizza steak and penne caldera are favorites. Lunch time can be crowded for both parking and seating.

This restaurant has a very strong local business turn out for lunch. If you want food between 12pm and 1pm on a weekday you'll have trouble finding a parking spot let alone a seat. Don't fear, they do carryout! The food is quite good. I've tried a number of things on their menu and all have been good. The steak salad is one of my favorites.

Great pizzas and food, fast take out, and all fresh ingredients. What else could you ask for in a pizza shop. Hands down the best food in the surrounding area. They owners, who work behind the counter, area polite and helpful. Try a stromboli or calzone, and especially the chicken ranch pizza. Delicious.

Good food, and the guys who run it are always friendly. Much better then any of the chain stores.

If I could eat here everyday for lunch, I probably would. Compared to whats close by for a lunchtime/dinner meal, Buon Giorno wins in my book. Food is fresh and hearty, and the prices are fair. Their pizza is best in the area as are their subs (eggplant parmigiana!). Order ahead if you're going during lunch hours, as sometimes they've got a line out the door. Mondays after 3pm they have a special for Large cheese pizzas that are only $6.00 -- a much better deal than slimy pizza hut or dominoes any day.

If you read my reviews you will find that 1 there are times I eat out a lot and 2 my family and I have pizza every Friday night. Those things being said. This place will never get my money again. I will have to say that the Pizza was good. But, good food can only take you so far. I went in based on recommendations from friends and co-workers. The service here is the sole reason that I will not give this place any more of my money. I took my sons to sit down and have dinner one Friday afternoon and the service was worse than horrible. The person taking my order was rude and seemed like he didn't want to be bothered. When I asked if I could customize an order to suit my diet of no pork he flat out REFUSED. After being turned off by this I still placed an order for a Buffalo Chicken Pizza. When my pizza was done they didn't bring it to our table, they simply yelled in my direction. I was totally surprised by this and it took me a while to pick up my pizza and the person yelling just seemed to get more and more aggravated by the fact that I wasn't coming to retrieve my pizza fast enough. I did like my pizza I did not like the service. Nope I'm not going back. Sidebar: I used work up the street from this place and one night I was pleasantly surprised to find a cheesesteak pizza that was great...

Buon Giorno is the saving grace of having our office in the Woodlawn area. The food is always freshly made, and the prices are so reasonable considering the massive portions you receive - you will never leave here hungry! You'll want to try one of their salads (I recommend the Buon Giorno Salad with chicken) because the house balsamic vinaigrette is the best anywhere. But you also can't go wrong with their subs (great bread!), pasta (the baked penne is delicious) and pizza. Expect to wait for a table if you arrive right around Noon, but it's well worth the wait.

Pizza was fine. Had too much grease. The crust had a funny taste.

Good cheap pizza subs and pastas. Very tasty! I love that it is convenient to my work office. and with the slim pickin's for lunch time options in Windsors Mill, Buon Giorno is fantastic! I eat it often. Also, being an Italian, I have a great respect for the owners and workers- they are as authentic as they come! Try the veggie or white pizza. Yum! Thanks Buon Giorno!

Got take out while a busy day at work. Split the ziiti and Italian cold cut. Everything was great, and quick! I wouldn't make a trip to go back here, but If I'm in the area and need a quick bite, I'll be back!

We frequent this pizza joint because we're fans of NY/NJ style thin pizza. Although we haven't looked hard for this type of pizza, we know this is a place close by that does it right. Any typical sub shop within the same radius doesn't do NY pizza very well if at all. I've only had the pizza, chicken fingers and maybe a calzone. They're all good, but not the best IMO. When we do carry out the pizza is usually slightly cold for some reason? Even fresh out of the oven. When it's done baking, they put it on top of their oven until you pick it up. I'm not sure if the AC is near there or something, but it never fails. The prices are moderate, but I guess it's fair for the quality you're getting?

I went in a order a cheesteak and it was dry. I had to but something when i got home because it was only bread.

I work nearby, so my coworkers and I have been here many times. The staff (I think they're all related) are always cocky and borderline rude. Their pizza is average at best and kind of expensive compared to other places in the area. However, despite this, the place is always pretty busy at lunch. Part of their lunchtime crunch is due to the federal offices (there are two) on Lord Baltimore that see workers run over for a quick bite due to its proximity. That said, in March of 2014, these two offices are being consolidated into a new building elsewhere. And, I just can't see anyone (myself included) saying "hey, let's drive all the way to Buon Giorno's for some mediocre, over-priced pizza served by a bunch of meat heads with attitude!" Maybe once the place clears out a little they'll brush up on their customer service and figure out how to make a great pizza. One star.

Buon Giorno is a small pizza and sandwich shop in Woodlawn that's in my team's regular lunch rotation because of its chicken parm sandwiches and excellent pizza. The staff is friendly and very Italian - which translates to big bold flavors and perfectly cooked sandwiches. My regular order is two slices of mushroom pizza with fresh garlic, well-done. I've mentioned before that I have a propensity for ordering pizza well-done or slightly burned - crisp crust is a must. Buon Giorno is one spot that never disappoints - while some places (Vito's, Pasta Mista) tend to not leave the pizza in the oven long enough if you're waiting for it to go, Buon Giorno gets it right every time. Vito's is the most common culprit - if you're the only person waiting, I've seen stuff come out of the oven very quickly way too often. One word of warning for Buon Giorno - when you ask for garlic, make sure you mean it! They use fresh chopped garlic, not anything out of a jar or rehydrated. It's delicious, and exactly what I usually want, but often nose-hair-searingly garlicky, so consider who you're eating with.

this may be the best place to eat in the immediate area. i love eating at this venue. although they don't sell New York pizza, it's still pretty good, and their other items are great too. the spinach salad made me fall in love with baby spinach and i get a sandwich/roll at least every other week.

Had a hankering for pasta the other day and decided to come back here. I went here a couple years ago, and really wasn't turned on by the alfredo. It was OK, just extremely lacking in seasoning. But I assume they do that because some people don't want their pasta loaded down with Italian seasoning. On the bright side, I did see some fresh garlic, which made me smile :) but I still had to add my own seasoning when I got back home. The guys behind the counter are pretty nice too, and the prices are good considering the portions you get and the quality.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
