Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Best Italian food in Carroll County. My family and I are from NYC and it is so hard to find authentic Italian around here, especially when people say go to Olive Garden (blech!). The prices are very reasonable and the service is great. It's a hidden gem in the Food Lion shopping center. It's also owned and run by a nice family from Italy, they love talking to their customers and you can see one or two of their sons working there usually. You must get gelato after your meal, only place in the county that serves it.

i got the vegetarian ppanini which was the best panini i had. bread was fresh, all the vegies were yummy! im giving 4 stars for the AWFULLLLLLLL Gelato! oh my god what was that. it was 99% sugar powder (not sugar because powder has a funny bitter taste when its used), and 1% chocolate and other stuff. it was tha nastiest ice-cream or gelato i have ever had!!!!!!!!

Don't let the look or the strip mall it's in deceive you - this is by far one of the best Italian restaurants I've ever been to. Being from Philadelphia and spending time in NYC, and being obsessed with Italian food, I feel completely confident in ranking Mediterraneo very high on my list. The pasta is homemade, the sauces are homemade, the amazing dinner rolls are homemade, piping hot and completely addictive. I have eaten here for years and have never been disappointed. The quality is consistently high and the food is always phenomenal. Their gnocchi is my absolute favorite and I've gotten many friends absolutely hooked on it as well. People will literally call me randomly and say "remember how good that gnocchi was? I can't stop thinking about it"...it's that good! The gnocchi is normally made with a delicious red sauce, but I always ask for mine with "pink sauce" because it's creamy, tangy, comforting perfection. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. The owner is always nice enough to make it this way for me even though it's not on the menu. In fact, the entire family who owns this place are very kind, friendly and incredibly warm. It makes me happy every time I walk in and the owner recognizes me. Here are some other favorites from their menu: the bruschetta - so fresh, so flavorful and the olive oil they use is out of this world (seriously, it's the best bruschetta you will ever have, anywhere, hands-down, guaranteed)... The spaghetti with marinara -they make this classic dish with some of the best, tastiest, tomato sauce you'll ever taste...cheese ravioli..Mmmm... Chicken piccata - my step mom's absolute favorite...even their sandwiches, cheesesteaks and fries are just really really good....and their pizza is by far the best NY style in town. They also have some really delicious homemade desserts and gelato. They're also always fast for cramming in a tight lunch hour meal and the portions are perfect.

I've chosen to revisit this place and it's proved to be certainly a good choice. What I'm about to drop on you was all take out. Their onion rings were great...shocked since most times you get these little beauties home (from other places) and they are soggy. Not the case here. I also ate half an Italian Sub (all the way) which was really good. The other choice was half of a cheesesteak which I NEVER eat. Glad I did because this cheesesteak (all the way) was totally delicious. I also opted for grilled chicken on-top of their Greek Salad with their house dressing...yeah it's good. What I need to do is go back in there and fatten up on their homemade Gelato over the summer. Yeah it's happening and my belt, when I actually wear one, will have to get used to me using another hole up. Sorry belt

This is my favorite restaurant in Westminster and has the best food in the area compared to all of the other restaurants in Westminster. All of the food is extremely authentic and homemade unlike some of the other restaurants in the area. Every pasta is really delicious, the pizza is amazing, the salads are homemade and have great toppings, and everything is just really good. It also has the fastest service I've ever had at a restaurant. I don't really know why it's so fast but I never have to wait long for food long and everything is prepared really well. Very friendly servers also and the people who own the restaurant are passionate about their food. Love it!!

Support local business! Great portions, very clean, fairly priced, friendly staff. The restaurant has the "human" touch so many chain restaurants lack. Have dined here many times. Highly recommend.

It's not an authentic Philly Cheesesteak, but a cheesesteak does not have to be "Philly" style to be very tasty. And that's what their cheesesteak subs are: Very Tasty!!! Every time I pass thru Westminster I stop here and get one! The price is reasonable, the roll tastes like its freshly baked. The restaurant is squeaky clean as are the restrooms. Hope this place never changes!!

This place has been here forever. They must do a lot of carry out because it is never busy when I eat i. I live two minutes away and we go every now and then but I don't like it enough to be a regular. The staff is very nice and friendly normally. Sometimes if you order at the counter they don't want to be bothered. The pizza is decent. Not as good as Classico right down the street. Cheesesteaks are pretty good. Fried are OK. Prices are OK. Service is quick. So this is just an OK place for me that is convenient.

Really worth a try. The food is good and reasonably priced. I've had several of their sandwiches and entrees and have never been disappointed. It doesn't offer much in the way of ambiance, but it's certainly good for families and casual get togethers. They are probably the only place in town with an ice cream case of various flavors of gelato.

Went here expecting great things from the previous reviews. Had the cheesesteak with everything and my friend had the chicken parmigiana. The cheesesteak was terrible, tons of vegetables (peppers, hots, lettuce and tomato) and sauce but BARELY any meat. Not happy. The chicken parm was ok at best...I hope they take this as a wakeup call..

If you want some outstanding fresh pizza and sandwiches, look no further. Mediterreaneo has been a Westminster cornerstone forever. The staff is nice, service is prompt - freakishly fast, the prices are average and the food keeps you coming back. Best thing they do: pizza. The Sicilian standard is my favorite, while the white pizza is my wife's. Their sandwiches and pasta are well built and balanced. The one misgiving I have is that the gnocchi can be way too salty at times. The shopping center management did the owners if Mediterreaneo a disservice by allowing a Little Caesar's to open just a few storefronts away (literally 2); and I'm telling you, don't waste your time or money with that product. Go to Mediterraneo, talk to Mimmo, and treat yourself to a fine dining experience.

At the conter, we ordered a antipasto, chicken cheesesteak, and two chicken parmesan subs. The antipasto was HUGE - probably more for 4 to 6 people than the three of us. The subs also large & stuffed full of fresh & flavorful ingredients, served nice and hot at our table The pizza also looked amazing & we'll check it out next time we're up that way. Based on one visit, I have already recommended this restaurant to friends and family. The staff is super friendly - grazie!

I have eaten here many times, and I can say the food, and service is always very good. The pizza is great in my opinion.
