Shopping in SOMD and found myself in the mood for Thai food. Found this place on Yelp. Outside wasn't so appealing and interior is middle income decor, but the food and service were incredible. Steamed dumplings were fair, but red curry with chicken was delicious with sizable portion. Would recommend to others and will definitely visit again.

The food is great - always fresh and alway hot... And the employees are always courteous. The only downside is they're a bit pricey and they are a little stingy with the portions but otherwise I highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for authentic Thai cuisine.

Food is reliable- I stick with Drunken noodles with tofu and though the sauce isn't unusually flavorful, the tofu texture is usually quite good (not squishy or watery). Also, the spring rolls are decent. I haven't been blown away by anything but my husband adores their spicy beef salad. We'll definitely be back since there aren't too many Thai places in the area.

I got drunken noodles with shrimp. I am addicted to drunken noodle but i haven't found a place that had made it as good as this one sushi restaurant. I was in the area so i was trying some of the drunken noodles but this is the best place i had got it from. Its good but can't beat the sushi place i go to. The place was quiet nice set up. Very pretty and good for a date. Has a bar and must try their thai tea .

Average curry; lacked flavor, somewhat bland. Found some sort of fabric thread in spring rolls--not too appetizing to say the least. Restaurant had a mildew odor throughout also. If you want Thai, suggest you travel 20 miles north into Northern VA or DC.

Best Thai food in Waldorf. Nice dinning room not crowded, slow leisurely service as it is run by a very nice old gentleman who is both waiter and cashier, and takeout order person. If you have time to spare, enjoy an wonderful meal there and take home some for the next day. I ordered many items on their menu and have always been very happy with the food. Their appetizers are creative, wonderful flavored Soup, tasty complex Thai dishes, with minimal filler vegetables like the other Thai places in town. Their Thai iced coffee and Teas are great as well.

Fried tofu salad; the house peanut dressing is great, no wilting lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes are crisp, great salad. Service is also good.

I was excited to try this place out due to the good reviews and was hopeful due to the limited Thai options in the area. Unfortunately, it did not taste as authentic as I am used too. I am used to SPICY goodness with rich flavors, like basil in my Thai food. It seemed kind of water downed, Americanized Thai food to me compared to the other Thai restaurants I have been to. The Thai iced coffee was VERY sweet as well, I like a more strong coffee taste. The place and the presentation of the food is nice. The service could have been a bit more attentive.

Far from authentic. After hearing two different people talk about this place I decided to check it out. The location is convent, the building is nice, the space is clean. Service is slow and not very friendly. I thought that the prices were a little high compared to other Thai places in the area but portion size was larger. Although that didn't matter because I only ate about 1/4 of my meal, my friend who dinned with me ate even less. The food was overpowering in spices loosing all of its natural flavor, I had curry which was chunky not is proper thick creamy texture. Not a place I would ever go back to nor would I suggest others to visit.

Again we enjoyed some great Thai food on a cold Sunday evening. We enjoyed ANGEL SHRIMP & HOT POTs. Delicious! Always good service and tasty food. I love this quaint restuarant and recommend to all.

So, my mother wanted me to take her to this place because her friend recommended it to her. She told Mother that the food was great. I went there and was happily surprised! Situated in a little off the beaten path. Near a large mall. Interior is small and cozy. The Tofu Salad was absolutely great!! I'm not usually a healthy eater, but Mother said I was getting a little chubby..so I tried the healthy dish. I also had the Spicy Eggplant. It was phenomenal ! My mother loved her seafood stir fry. In conclusion.. If 3 Asians (Thai) raves about an Asian restaurant.. it's good. If one of those Asian happens to be your overly picky mother.. it's GREAT... ! This restaurant deserves 5 stars..(mostly for pleasing my mother so that I don't have to hear her complain on the drive home...)

Great food. Everything I have ordered here has been so delicious. I will continue to come here over and over.

The place is kind of small, but the food was delicious, the decor nice, the staff friendly and the prices reasonable. Definitely a new favorite spot for me.

Maybe I'm homesick and miss Asian food, but Thai Flavor totally hit the spot on my visit today. I had the Panang Chicken Curry - which is a peanut + coconut milk curry sauce type thing, with chicken, obviously, and a small serving of rice. Since boyfriend and I came here for lunch, it was on the special's menu! 8.95!! The dish itself was simple and elegant. No nonsense vegetables taking up the place of the chicken. They were plentiful with the chicken and sauce. How do you end a Thai lunch? With some Mango sticky rice, of course! Yum yum yum yum yum yum yum! So happy that there's a little bit of comfort away from home sweet home...

Awesome place, great service and atmosphere. Food was great overall but the Pan Thai was not our favorite.

Love this place. The lemon grass soup is awesome and I have tried about half the items on the menu with no bad experiences. Oh and they deliver!

My go to Thai restaurant in the boondocks... All the dishes I've had including the mangoes/sticky rice have been delish...

If your in the area stop in!! Located by the mall this little Thai place is a great deal! Food is amazing and well priced and for those cold nights you can order delivery. They have take out too. Peanut sauce with the chicken satay is balanced and delious tasting. NOt to spicy, the perfect amount of heat and tastes the way it is suppose to.

So... I stopped by this place with a few friends over the weekend. While they do have seating this is more of to-go spot. We ordered apps and main course... The apps came out pretty fast which was good... but our food took forever! Our food came out like 15 minutes apart from each other... which was weird... the waitress didn't speak good English, but she did her best to apologize and explained that the kitchen was backed up with to-go orders... The food is really good, so next time I'll just make sure I order takeout...

The food is quite tasty. Not too spicy, not too mild. Ask if you like more spicy dishes. They can make just about anything more spicy. The beef was a little hard on the last day we visited. The basil dishes are great.

I'd been wanting to try this place for awhile but didn't have high hopes for a Thai restaurant in Waldorf. I finally managed to try it out last night and was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant only had 4 people inside around 6:30 or so on a Monday night, so service was quick, even though I just went in for carry-out. I ordered Lemon Grass Soup with shrimp Pad See Eew with beef and Mango and Sticky Rice (wasn't on the menu but they had it). All of the dishes were very good. I've had the soup before at another place and this version was a little different, but still very good. Never had Pad See Eew before but it was excellent - very tasty and the beef was tender and flavorful, even after reheating the leftovers today. And Mango and Sticky Rice - I didn't realize how much I'd missed it til having it again. Sooooo good! The hubby doesn't want to try Thai food but I'm a fan and will definitely be back!

My son & I were looking for somewhere new to try for My B-Day & someone suggested that we try this place. It was a nice cozy place. Food was delicious and the service wasn't bad either. I will definitely go back again. I had the Chicken Gangala soup. I loved it-minus the big mushrooms & something in it that was a little like eating broom, but good none the less. The Chicken Satay w/peanut sauce was good. My Son had the spring rolls & some rice dish with shrimp& pineapple. He enjoyed his as well. This would also be a good place for a date.

We've been dining at Thai Flavor regularly (monthly) for several years. It is one of our favorite places for great food, outstanding service, and fair prices. We've eaten at many Thai restaurants around the US and have traveled in Thailand and we believe Thai Flavor holds its own with the best. Do yourself a favor and give it a try.

Very good ! Loved the sweet and sour chicken here ! Very small place but I love those kind of places personally. Staff was very friendly, and attentive.

Pricey and lacked traditional thai seasonings. Huge disappointment! Two stars only because the food was hot and ready when I arrived.

This is Honestly the Best Thai Food I've ever had in my life. I left the DC area 5 years ago and as soon as I got back on vacation I found myself nestled back at my favorite table near the back of the restaurant. To my surprise my server remembered me and and even remembered that I didn't like caviar on my Salmon Rolls. (Amazing) The mussels were plump and to die for and the Flaming Beef was flagrant, flavorful and well seasoned. The food came out within minutes and it tasted as good as it did Five Years ago. If you are ever in the DC/MD/VA area, this restaurant has to be on your visit list if you are a lover of REAL Authentic Thai Food.

Excellent. Veggies were very crisp and fresh. Even though I took it to go. The steamed dumplings had a lot of flavor and were very pretty,too--was kind of shaped like a flower. The owner was very helpful with making suggestions.

Got some delivery, not bad. Free delivery over $25...but at the same time, they won't deliver unless it's that minimum. The portions are large, and delivery is super quick. We got chicken pad Thai, seafood pineapple fried rice, and spring rolls. The chicken was kinda dry, but there was a good amount. There was barely any seafood in the seafood fried rice, though. The spring rolls were strange....mostly purple cabbage and I don't know what else. Didn't taste like anything. Overall, not the best in the area, but they do pretty good especially if you want your food QUICK!

Food is good- papaya salad is the best I've ever had. The basil chicken is just ok. Service is bad though- slow even though there were 3 customers total.

Living in Northern California spoiled me when it comes to outstanding Asian restaurants , so I was starting to get a little sad that I had not found a good Asian restaurant. A few were just okay and one was downright gross. I can happily say my search is over because not only did I find a good Thai restaurant but I can say it reminded of going to Chinatown in San Francisco. Today was my first visit and it will NOT be my last. My husband and I had the five way sampler (spring roll, satay with a peanut dipping sauce, angel shrimp, crispy tofu and calamari), Papaya salad, drunken noodles, and Thai flavor's Flaming beef. This meal was so good my taste buds are still doing a happy dance.

If you open at 11:30 have kitchen staff on hand to service customers and don't be rude to me when I come in at 11:30 and expect to have an early lunch....... just because your stuff ain't together. That's what happened today......I was already to have a mommy out day lunch....thai ice tea drunken noodle and those angel appetizers....BUT no I got attitude.....cause your staff was late....and you told me I would have to wait 15 to 20 min.....ain't gonna do that....nope not with my money... So I am done with you, I never wanted our breakup to go down like this, but you forced my hand.

Flipping awesome place. I wish i could just give it an extra.5 stars. The thai iced tea is the best I've ever had. Service was spot on as well. Treat yourself, you'll be glad you did.

This has been our go to place for Thai in Southern MD the last few years. The Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles are solid. Portions are good. Service is usually quick and friendly. Definitely the best Thai food in Waldorf in my opinion.

  • V B.

Love it. Panang tofu curry is so delicious. Drunken noodles are tasty. The fried salmon rolls are the best. When ever I'm in the area I go here or take out. Service is fast and friendly. It's small but it's very cute. I'm surprised this place isn't packed all the time.

Came into the restaurant, no sign saying seat yourself or otherwise. Waitied 10 mins and still did not get any service. Ann older guy came into the restaurant and was greeted within 2 mins. I decided to leave. Unprofessional and unattentive.

The place has nice decor on the inside, but it wasn't too busy. I suggest that more people go to keep this place in business. Although, it is nice to not have to wait for a table or anything. The taste of the food is great from the dish that I had. And the prices are very reasonable.

  • Karen S.

I love the food here. I've had the Satay, angel shrimp, fried calamari... Love that stuff! I don't care for the drunken noodles. Today I decided to try something new, so I went with the Pad Thai.. Presentation was beautiful and boy was I starving! Took a bite and it tasted like dog food! Not that I know what dog food tastes like or anything!!..I thought maybe they used too much fish sauce, but according to my server there wasn't any fish sauce used in this dish. He was extremely polite and let me order a different dish, and not charge me for the first!

We travel a lot, and always seem to have a hard time finding authentic food....this place was amazing!! I had the house salad and Pad Thai...the house salad is something I now crave, the house dressing is terrific!! The Pad Thai is the real deal. I should also mention the portion size- more than enough for two meals. The owner is friendly, charming and quick. This is now a family favorite dining spot

  • Maui M.

The papaya salad was really fresh and the sauce was flavorful. I had the drunken noodles and it was very good! My husband had the panang curry and he finished the whole bowl!!! The ambience was very peaceful and quiet. The service was fairly prompt. It was good enough to order mango sticky rice to go. The mango was sweet and fresh. Overall it was delicious! It was our very first visit and we will definitely go back.

Gross! I love pad Thai and maybe I'm crazy thinking I could get good pad Thai in waldorf! I ordered chicken and they gave me shrimp! It was to go so I didn't notice until I got home. It was so bland! And forget the spring rolls! Won't go back! I had to give it a star but if I could it would get no stars!!

The Thai Flavor Restaurant located in Waldorf, MD meals are not close to being considered as tasty. I visited this restaurant on two different occasions and both times they failed in pleasing my taste buds. If you're craving for quality Thai food take a drive to The Seaside Thai & French Restaurant in Colonial Beach you'll be glad you did.

  • Amanda H.

Never expected to find such a great restaurant in Waldorf. The food is well-prepared, flavorful, large portions, and not greasy. The service is wonderful. I crave their Thai iced tea regularly!! I'd say this is one of the better Thai restaurants I've ever been to - here in a suburb, of all places!

    (4)
  • Lam N.

Absolutely one of the best Thai food I've had. And believe me, I've had a lot of Thai food and frequently cook Thai cuisine myself. The decoration and atmosphere is very nice and you can even have a nice romantic dinner here. Service was very attentive and nice. The food is wonderful and you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu, unless you're very picky. My favorite has to be the Sea Breeze and the Pad Thai. They make the best Pad Thai that is not too sweet or overly pungent and flavorful. Sea Breeze, although expensive, is a delicious mix of seafood and Asian vegetables. I don't go here too often because it can get very expensive, but it is definitely one place I will take my guests to (and excitingly do so).

Had the red curry duck. Was very good and not what I expected this far away from the city. I sampled the drunkened noodles which were exceptionally good. I will definitely get that next time. Previous reviewers were accurate with the food quality and the ambience. Food was very good. Ambience was quaint and not the typical "stripmallish" decor even though it was in a small strip mall.

  • Derrick W.

Good restaurant. The drunken noodles are outstanding. The food is always good and comes out quickly. One of the best Thai restaurants I have experienced and in Waldorf of all places.

  • Kellye K.

I'm pretty sure they are getting better with time. I didn't think it was really that possible. I will say, in contradiction, that I had the drunken noodles the other day and they were a little soggy. BUT, the Red Curry Duck still makes me wish I had a little old Thai lady for a best friend...any takers?

My husband and I decided that last night, while the nation was eating burritos, tacos and guacamole, we would celebrate Cinco de Thai-O! One of my best friends frequents Thai Flavor so we took her advice and gave it a try for our new "holiday". The decor of the restaurant is very chic. I liked the light wood paneling and they have a great art deco wall that is very hip. There was only one person working the floor and the bar. He was delightful, knowledgeable and efficient. My husband and I sat at the bar to dine. He immediately drew our attention to the table tent advertising curry puffs as an appetizer special. We took him up on that offer and also ordered laarb gai. The laarb gai was as good as expected and the curry puffs were better than expected. They came served with a cucumber sauce that was sweet and added the perfect touch to the flaky pastry pocket. My husband and I are not usually adventurous when it comes to our entrees. We pretty much stick with drunken noodles, kra pow, and panang. This night we decided to explore and we were not disappointed. I ordered beef pad see ew. The beef was crispy and the dish was spiced just right. My husband ordered pattaya noodle, Thai spicy, and was beaded with sweat by the time he finished his entree! We did not have room for dessert but we will make room in our schedule to go back to Thai Flavor soon!

They have a 7.95 lunch special. Picked up some Cashew chicken to go. It was very good and they give you a little container of the sauce I mentioned above. It is called prik nam pla. Just don't smell it before you eat it :)

Big surprise coming here. I never would have thought a little podunk town like Waldorf could boast such amazing cuisine. You must try their Chicken Satay. It's seriously the best I've ever had. That's not saying a whole hell of a lot, but it's certainly something. We split that as an appetizer and then I ordered some chicken and mushroom thing (mmm...fungus) and the diner friend ordered something....Thai-like. I don't remember, but it was all fantastic. When I went here (over a year ago), the heat was not working and it was brutally cold outside. The owner set up a heater pretty much on my lap and kept me full of green tea to warm me up. Seriously, I went through 5 teapots of that stuff and he happily filled it up each time it was even close to being empty. Great service all around. There's also a full service bar and a plethora of neon colored umbrella drinks to choose from. I was too busy making out with my warm tea kettle to be tempted, but I'm sure they're filled with sucrose-ey ethanol goodness. Only problem with this place is that it's in Waldorf. Yeah, Waldorf. Boo.

We just had a lunch in Thai Flavor. The food is very delicious. The price is reasonable yet the portion is pretty big. The inside decoration is neat and very clean. A pretty good atmosphere place for lunch/dinner.

Suprisingly good Thai food in this surburban plaza in Waldorf, MD. The dishes had fresh ingredients, came in generous portions, and had a home-cooked taste (ie not loaded with grease and MSG). The pineapple dessert sorbet was a refreshing finish to the meal. The service was great, and the wait staff checked on us numerous times. It's a plaza restaurant, so it's not fancy, but the decor is still clean and cute.
