I will try not to be too partial because this is one of my husband's favorite spots to eat locally, especially when he has a business meeting. It's nice to have a place that is so close to home that resembles the ambiance of places that are closer to the downtown or Hampden areas. The decor is homey and rustic with lots of wood and textures. The things that I have tried so far, for the most part, have been pretty good and just a few that are underwhelming which is a disappointment for a place that serves seemingly regular options at higher than desired prices, but I guess that's usually what happens at restaurants/cafes that boast farm-to-table status. The Farmer's breakfast, breakfast burrito, iced coffee and blueberry lemon muffin are some of our go-to options. One time I tried to be spontaneous and ordered a breakfast that was called maybe the steak and egg or steak and something or other and I was surprised because it was actually a ham steak, which was not bad because it wasn't overly salty or chewy like most ham steaks and cooked very well. I was only disappointed because I was imagining a big hunk of beef melting in my mouth, but probably my oversight. The macarons are a good deal in my opinion (7 for $8) and exactly what you would expect for a local macaron..A-ok. Some didn't quite taste like their moniker, but they were really fresh and of course cute as a button (that's really the reason why we get them, right?!). I personally thought the strawberry basil was pretty good and peach was probably the one I cared for the least. It's really more of the experience in knowing that their jams are homemade, so if you ever need a quick fix I would recommend it. The place isn't huge, but they offer outdoor seating which is nice when there's less humidity and a cool breeze. The Cunningham's restaurant is located upstairs which we don't frequent as much unless it's happy hour on apps and drinks haha. It's easy to get confused so make sure if you're meeting people to tell them that it's on the ground level portion. Parking is limited, but there is a small lot across from the place that has a 2 hr minimum.

Cunninghams is a place I wouldn't normally entertain. Its very unassuming. We came here after learning that the cheesecake factory didnt serve brunch on Saturday :)...my hubby had the bagby breakfast burrito sans meat (vegetarian). He loved it. Great flavors, good textures. I had the bagby market breakfast. Average flavors...but was able to substitute my meat for fruit at no additional cost. Highlight of my meal was the coffee. Would come here again to try the pancakes. Breakfast for two ran us about $24....a little expensive but hey...I guess you get what you pay for.

Amazing!! I absolutely love coming here and sitting on the stools they have and having their wonderful hot chocolate. Their pastries are out of this world, and their breakfast always exceeds expectations. I think they're reasonably priced for those who like quality food. College students probably won't be found here too often because it's not as cheap as a college budget would allow. I recommend this Cafe to all my friends frequently and I hope to come here for many years to come.

Everything I've tried here is delicious. It's not mind-blowing innovative cuisine but it's the perfect cafe food and the baked goods are always on point. The bread is also very good and you can often find it stocked at other shops in the city (e.g. The Wine Source in Hampden). I love that they change up some of their sweet bakery items often, which allows me to try something new each time. One of their mainstays is a salted chocolate chip cookie - definitely get this if you're a fan of chocolate chip cookies, sweet and salty desserts, or both! Also I'm pretty sure their "for here" lattes are one size only, which is a massive Friends-cappuccino cup monstrosity. Just FYI in case you're like me and drinking one of those things in one sitting is near impossible.

I loved their Gingerbread Latte, it's probably the best I've ever had. It was very busy and lively but there were open tables, I loved the atmosphere, the food was great, service was quick and pleasant. Overall, great experience.

This cafe has a great atmosphere and great food. I was pleasantly surprised with their sandwiches. There is a lot of competition in the area and I thought it was going to be hard for them to stand out, but I was wrong. I've had the HOUSE ROAST BEEF BOURSIN twice and really enjoyed it. The bread is delicious and the boursin is a great touch. My dad ordered the OYSTER PO-BOY and really enjoyed it, he did think he may have gotten a small piece of shell in his though. In our family when something like this happens, we like to say you know it's fresh! I plan on going back.

Cunningham's could be a Five Star Restaurant!! We arrived on a Monday evening to celebrate a Birthday. Arriving at valet parking, we were greeted by a young man who didn't seem to enjoy his work? Proceeded to the restaurant where our reservations were in order and we were immediately seated to the closest tables to the entrance. ( Which were in the dining room next to the bar.) The restaurant is divided into three dining areas. Two of the areas are without tablecloths. The third and most distant has the most comfortable chairs, table cloths and the lovely atmosphere! We requested to be moved. It took about 15 minutes in order for the waitress and maître d"s to accomplish this request. I counted 15 people seated throughout the entire restaurant and only two in the section we requested. (Incidentally, this is the only section I would request to set in the entire restaurant It is warm, friendly and comfortable) We ordered drinks. I ordered the Johnnie Walker red label scotch and my wife of vodka and tonic. In order for the waitress to order the drinks she must walk from one end of the building out a door passageway into the bar. (I guess 20 to 30 yards away) She returned to tell me that they do not carry that brand of scotch. I chose another and continued. She then had a walk back in order to order the scotch. On her return she brought my wife's drink. I had to wait until the next trip to the bar in her return for my drink. ( This series of events borders on being in Abbott and Costello comedy!) We then ordered the Fish Bronzini & Braised Short Ribs. Shortly after, our waitress returned to inform us they were out of the Bronzini. We selected a rockfish as a replacement. Our server walked back to the bar in order to complete the drink orders. When the food arrived we found it to be well prepared and EXCELLENT! This restaurant is part of the Bagby group in Baltimore. We love the Fleet Street kitchen! Cunningham's could be of this caliber once they solve the drink ordering, (could be done from a computer station), complete an in-depth stocking of liquor and menu items. Management needs to pay attention and complete the training of their employees. This restaurant has the potential of a Five Star Rating!!

Update: Just came from there and the service is worse than ever. The food was also not as good as previous visits and the tables were dirty. I really want to like this place but it seems to be on the wrong track.

Very friendly staff and a nice spot for a business meeting. I had the cinnamon toast latte and it was amazing! I will definitely go back for the coffee. Unfortunately I did not have a chance to try the food.

Um- yeah... One of THE BEST BLT's I've ever had...hands down. Had it now three days in a row and it's consistant...which is key for me. Free parking across the street is a great bonus.

I come from a land of pretty solid breakfast spots (Asheville, NC) and was in Baltimore for work. Ordered the item that included 2 eggs, 3 pieces of in house made bacon, home made bread, and home fries. I also added a side of avocado ($1.00). The eggs said they were farm eggs and they definitely were - super healthy yellow yolks. The bacon was not as crispy as I like but so quality tasting it didn't matter at all. Don't eat much gluten and never had a home made english muffin, but it was great. And home fries are just most often blah, even when they're kind of good. These were just outstanding. I've never ordered such a plain Jane breakfast with so much flavor all around. And they know how to make a good Americano as well. Got one of those on the way out the door. Very very well done Cunninghams.

This is my go-to spot for a quality breakfast in Towson. Love the Bagby Breakfast Sandwich. Coffee is also really good here, and the cold brew might be some of the strongest coffee I've had. Skip the Towson Diner and come here.

Was in the area for an overnight stay. Went in on a Sunday morning and it wasn't crowded. I ordered a peppermint mocha and my boyfriend ordered a cappuccino. One of the best coffee drinks I have ever had! Our drinks came pretty quickly, within a few minutes, and our food came just a few minutes after that. He had the breakfast burrito, which they made without bacon by request-- boyfriend gives it two thumbs up. I got the breakfast sandwich with sausage, which was delicious. The ambience in the cafe is nice and quiet and laid-back, and the cafe also sold a variety of breads/pickled items/relishes. Staff was very friendly. Would definitely go back if I was in the area.

This is a great addition to the Towson dining scene. The food is delicious. The staff is friendly and courteous (a rarity in Baltimore). They offer the option of dining on the patio or in the cozy interior. They can accommodate a single diner or a small group. The only con, and it's a big one, is that they consistently (66% of my orders) overcook the proteins. Ask for medium rare and get well done. Ask for poached eggs and get medium boiled. I almost dropped them to 3 stars, but the overall flavor and meal experience was still good. In summary, this is a great place to grab a great meal and enjoy a great cup of coffee or an espresso drink.

What a GEM! How refreshing is it to be able to come to a breakfast place in Towson that is not inundated by TU students. No offense to them or anything, I know they have got to eat but nothing worse than wanting to have a nice relaxed breakfast only to have to wait in a line outside the door with elbow to elbow seating. Was nice to drive up at prime breakfast hour and be waited on immediately. Walked in and greeted with awesome service and friendly banter. The breakfast burrito is ON POINT. Literally has everything in it that you could possibly crave. And I was full until dinner. Loved the outdoor seating. It was clean and staff came out to clean up plates often. The cute little glass bottles that hold the milk for coffee was a nice touch to the charm of the place. Needless to say this may be a weekly event. They have a rewards program, no email needed which is a plus if you ask me. Once less email is always good. Every $50 spent you get $5 back and from what I can tell that won't be hard.

We went to Cunningham's Cafe for lunch today. What a wonderful experience. Orders are taken at the counter, you are provided with a number to place on your table and your food is brought to the table when ready. I ordered the omelet of the day (spinach, fresh mozzarella cheese and sun dried tomatoes). OMG! One of the best omelets I have ever eaten. My companion had the Bagby breakfast platter which included scrambled eggs, choice of meat, home fries and toast. The potatoes were not hot. When mentioned to the staff, they apologized and corrected it right away. Coffee (decaf for us) was great and topped off when staff noticed that our cups were close to empty. The service was outstanding and everyone there was extremely gracious. We look forward to the next meal at this charming cafe.

Such a great little place. The rustic decor and parking across the street are a treat. But the real joy was the awesome chai and roast beef sandwich. The cashier was a bit confused about our bread options but at least got our order right eventually. This is not a cheap place but well worth it.

I have only been to Cunningham's once, but it was for a special occasion. They really did an awesome job all around so it justified a five star rating! THE GOOD... -service was great -food tasted fresh and was super good -alcoholic cocktails were good -very clean -minimal noise level -easy valet parking THE BAD... -was sat near a door that had a reasonable amount of foot traffic Overall the first impression is a big one and Cunningham's delivered. Would love to try again on just a typical day!

I have eaten/had coffee here about 5 times. So here are the tips: 1. Free parking across the street (not at Fidelity, but the obvious lot) 2. Closes at 5PM 3. Service is (and always has been) GREAT 4. Prices are steep 5. Small coffees have free refills (from what I was told) 6. Inside is loud so for business meetings, sit outside) 7. Bathroom door lock doesn't work, keep a foot on the door if you are doing anything other than peeing standing up

Pros: -comfy outdoor patio -cool decor -serves a mean nutella latte -wifi and peaceful work atmosphere Cons: -staff didn't seem to knowledgable on the pastries when I asked for suggestions As someone who purposefully looks for coffee shops that can serve up a good latte and provide a peaceful atmosphere to work and people watch at, this place fulfills my requirements. Pretty solid 4 stars.

This review is for the bakery downstairs-- Portions were small, not much of a menu to browse through. Overly crowded on weekends and good luck finding a place to sit inside.

I really liked the baguette that I bought from here, and because it was past 3pm they have me 50% off which was cool. Everything was made in house which I really appreciated. I had to subtract a star because the espresso was VERY watery and that's not ok in my book. I was told it was made from local beans from Annapolis and that was awesome but espresso should not be as thin as water. There was crema on top but real espresso is thicker than water. In fact, my nespresso shots taste better, which is a shame because they had a really nice machine. Maybe work on the consistency if possible. Because I really appreciated the local and in house eats, I'm still giving 4 stars but I did not think the macaroons I ordered were exceptional either. They weren't bad, and it's sooooooo nice that they offer macaroons and can make them almost perfectly. I just think the flavors were off, except the fig was pretty good. Just an idea but more traditional flavors like pistachio and coffee could be better....
A few of my friends live in Towson and when we're looking to grab a quick bite to eat, the options can be limited. Fortunately, Cunningham's Cafe & Bakery recently opened by the Bagby Restaurant Group is located right in the heart of downtown Towson and it's the perfect place to grab a bite to eat. Bagby Restaurant Group owns a few restaurants in Baltimore, the others are Cunningham's inTowson and Ten Ten American Bistro, Fleet Street Kitchen and Bagby Pizza Co. in Harbor East. I've been to Bagby Pizza Co and it was great so I had high hopes for Cunningham's Cafe & Bakery. Fortunately when my friends and I went, the weather was beautiful and we were able to enjoy a meal outside. We each ordered a sandwich, my friend ordered the Powerhouse and it came with hummus, goat cheese, carrots, cucumber, avocado, red onion and roasted peppers on multigrain bread. My friend liked this, she said all of the ingredients were very fresh and it was nice to be eating something healthy. My other friend decided to go with the Roasted Turkey with Bacon. The sandwich had tomato jam, baby lettuce and barbecue mayo on multigrain bread. She loved this sandwich and said everything was very fresh and tasty, but there was nothing particularly memorable about this sandwich. One of my favorite sandwiches is the Braised Brisket Sandwich from By Degrees Cafe so I was hoping to order something along those lines. I ended up ordering the House Roast Beef Boursin. It had onion, tomato, horseradish aioli and roast beef on ciabatta bread. The sandwich was good, but I was expecting more of a slow cooked brisket sandwich as opposed to almost brisket deli meat. While the sandwiches at Cunningham's Cafe & Bakery in Towson are delicious, they're not mind-blowingly innovative. I would gladly return to try some more of their delicious options.

Cunningham's Cafe and Bakery is hidden breakfast spot in Towson. It stands apart of from the typical local diner spots. Food- Excellent, high quality, generous portions. Tried the Italian Quiche and Farmer's Breakfast. Best Quiche I have ever had and it came with a salad on the side. The farmer's breakfast came with eggs, choice of bread, and bacon or sausage, and breakfast potatoes. It beat any similar platter from another breakfast spot. Price- All in for two breakfast plates and 2 coffees it was about $25. Very Reasonable. Their house coffee is free refills and is great! Atmosphere- trendy, seat yourself, and friendly service.

I just had the BEST breakfast burrito and cold brew iced coffee in my entire life here. The French fries were also very crispy and impossible to stop eating. Service was impeccable. Grab a seat on the outdoor patio for lunch!! If I lived here I'd be here all the time.

Excellent fresh food, pastries and coffee. Cinnamon toast latte - delicious Raspberry Brioch - flaky, buttery, and not too sweet. Breakfast burrito - not overly huge but fresh and delicious. Small place with a cool, comfy, funky vibe. Thanks yelp for pointing me to this great place!!!

I decided to go to Cunningham's Cafe & Bakery for lunch while serving jury duty. (I have dined at the restaurant upstairs before so I knew the bakery should offer food equally as delicious but at a quicker pace.) upon arrival I felt comfortable, the decor industrial but warm, and the cashier greeted me with a smile. There was seating available inside and outside even during the busy lunch hour. I picked up a menu at the door but it was the catering menu. The regular menu couldn't be found until you reached the cashier desk, fortunately there was a large display chalkboard listing the wide range of items offered. The menu boasts fresh ingredients with unique pairings. I had the ahi tuna wrap (the first thing I saw on the menu). Overall the wrap was very good. The tuna was a little over cooked for my liking but seasoned perfectly. The wrap was loaded with crisp vegetables and the sauce wasn't too overpowering, complimented the tuna well. I was also appreciative that the tortilla was wrapped very well and stayed together while I was eating it; I hate when I can only eat half of my food because the wrap falls apart halfway through. I also had an unsweetened green tea which was very refreshing and balanced. My only recommendation is that they make it more clear to see where you should pick up your food order, there is a lot going on at the counter and for first time visitors it isn't very obvious where it is intended to be. I will definitely be back, especially when I have more time to peruse the menu and maybe enjoy a glass of wine in the sunshine!

I have heard great things about Cunningham's, and organized a group order on OrderUp for a lunch meeting. I placed my order at 10AM, and was called at about 10:15 by Cunningham's to inform me that they would not be fulfilling my order because it was 12 individual items, and they consider any order over 10 items catering, and require 24 hours notice. I told them that they haven't published that and they should honor the order, and they refused. I asked what they would do if they got 2 orders for 6 items each, and they were stumped. I had to take extra time to place the additional orders so that my meeting attendees would have lunch. If it was possible to get 12 new orders for a different restaurant, I would have done so, but I didn't have the time and had no choice but to support this business.

Best espresso in Towson hands down, get a cappuccino. I worked with coffee for a long time and you really can't get anything else nearly as tasty or high quality in all of the Towson area. Also get the breakfast burrito, best I've ever had. Have them all the time, never gets old. Go for brunch, it will kickstart your day.
Really good food! The turkey with bacon (mine was sans bacon) was really delicious. We sat outside and the ambiance was chill, despite the sounds of local traffic. Parking opposite the cafe (60 min. Limit) and within walking distance to Towson Mall. Oh and iced coconut mocha was damn good too. :-) Okay bye.

This is a terrific place for lunch, breakfast or a coffee in Towson. It isn't far from the Towson Circle and is at the base of a office building. It has indoor and outdoor dining spaces. You order inside and then the servers appear at your table with your menu choices. It's a great way to grab a quick lunch. I stopped in with a friend for lunch and quaffed down a roasted turkey and bacon sandwich with tomato jam and lettuce. It was fresh and tasty. I really loved the watermelon gazpacho - a refreshing summer soup with just a touch of watermelon. Grab a seat outdoors under one of the umbrellas. It's a nice way to get your daily dose of Vitamin D and your fill of tasty eats.

Pretty decent cafe for breakfast/brunch with family. They have both inside and outside seating and parking lot is right across from the cafe, next to Fidelity. There's a good variety food and we have tried their French toast, Breakfast Burrito, and Market Breakfast. To be honest, the only thing that I thought was excellent was their Breakfast Burrito, everything else was pretty average. However, I give them 4-stars because of their coffee. I enjoyed the cappuccino and the regular coffee. And if you get the regular cup if coffee, there's free refills and you can even get a to-go cup before you leave. And most importantly, it's not crappy coffee like the ones you would get in diners and iHops. Anyway, nice setting, friendly service, give it a shot if you're in the area. Cheers~

Great little local breakfast spot. The breakfast burrito is the bomb- for real. The guac is homemade and delicious. Like so good. My BF had the breakfast plate and that was good too. The lemon blueberry muffin and the iced coffee were both awesome. Great service too- very friendly!!

I'm in love with this place. Cunningham's Cafe and Bakery had me at Nutella latte, but when I saw the industrial decor, I was totally sold. This place is my ideal. Everything I have tried has been excellent, from the coffee to the soup to the bread to the quinoa to the baked goods. I was also surprised to see that, unlike most bakeries and cafes, they sell beer and wine. My only complaint is the hours--it's rare that I am not working during the times that they are open, so I don't get to indulge as often as I'd like. I'm saddened that I can't be more of a regular, but I still highly recommend Cunningham's.

This is a hidden gem! My husband and I have lived in Towson area for years and had no idea this place existed. The ambiance is perfect! Relatively quiet, plenty of seating options and rustic contemporary designs. I ordered the coconut mocha latte and my love got the baby breakfast sandwich with a cinnamon toast latte. Everything was superb, great quality and great portions for the price points. Also, the server/barista was so, so kind!!! Parking was a bit tricky, but it's Towson, a short walking distance is well worth it! We will definitely be back..soon!

This is THE best brunch in Towson, and one of the best in the state of Maryland. On par with anything offered at Miss Shirley's. We ordered the Brioche French Toast and the Bagby Breakfast Burrito. They were both sublime. We are definitely coming back to try the rest of the menu. Only downside is the artificial and corporate hipster look, which at this point is cliche. But that's a minor gripe.

I have a few online 'friends' who repeatedly post about going to Cunninghams (Cafe-side) and rave about it. I live in the neighborhood, see the people sitting outside eating, but had never checked out the place. I was sort of jaded by the prices of the actual restaurant - which is totally different and upstairs to the cafe. Well, I looked at the menu to the cafe online and was shocked at how great everything sounded! I finally made the walk over to the cafe for lunch and had the most delicious BLT! The breakfast and lunch menu all looks so tasty. The vibe (interior decoration) is great and the service was good. Seating outside is nice. Will be back often to explore more of the menu - especially breakfast (yum!)

After a fun show in Philadelphia (made even FUNNER by the surprise visit from my sister and brother-in-law) our extremely talented Front of House Engineer/Tour Manager (Sharif Productions) drove us further south to Maryland. We had a show that night at "U Street Music Hall" in Washington, D.C., but first we played a LIVE radio performance at WTMD in Towson, MD. Upon puling up to the radio station offices, I noticed this bakery right next door. Sometimes you just get a feeling that a place is gonna be great based on their aesthetic. Good taste in imagery and design usually translates to good taste in food...Cunningham's is no exception. I have one MAJOR problem with how things went down that day. We loaded the gear into WTMD Studios and was sent to the green room where some sandwiches and baked goods were provided. There were danishes, croissants, bear claws, and muffins...I set forth to try each and every single pastry with a firm belief that these would taste amazing; as I assumed they were from the bakery RIGHT next door. Well, you can imagine my horror when it was made clear to me that all these desserts were NOT in fact from Cunningham's. Ladies and Gentlemen, I had just wasted my sugar intake for the day on.... i can barely believe it myself....on... just gimme a second, this hurts to say...... on PANERAAAAAAAA!!! Wtf. I was Panerasterical and overcome with regret. On the other hand, however, I was equally DELIGHTED to know that the bullshit I had just put in my mouth was NOT Cunningham's. There was still hope for my conviction! After an extremely colorful reprimanding of the WTMD staff for such a bakery boner, we played the show and promptly headed to Cunningham's. When we arrived the inside of this place was every bit as pleasant as the outside; made even more-so by the beautiful smiles of their staff (namely Brianna, Babs, and Kate). We ordered our lunch and I explained that we'd need to sample all their cookies and cakes over the next 2 days in the van. (Of course, keeping into account that the freshness factor would be compromised). Kate was extremely accommodating and prepared a bountiful box of goodness. But first, the food: All of it is fresh from a local farm and it's all organic! They have a lot of vegetarian and vegan options as well. Super amazing. I had the Arugula mixed greens salad, with raisins, pecans, and salmon. It was perfect! Some of the best salmon I ever had...cooked to the perfect temperature, juicy, and salted a little heavy (which I loved). I highly recommend this to anyone on the fence. Sondre had a small container of their pesto pasta (I tried some and it was great, full of flavor). He, Sharif Productions, and Chris Holm also ordered the fresh lemonade and said it was "perfect in the moment for its refreshing intensity, but perhaps the ratio of tart to sweet could be balanced better with the addition of some water. Ya know, as long as the water was vegetarian, free-range, and organic n stuff." We all broke into the box of sweets and here's our report: The Chocolate Chip cookie with sea salt is AMAZING! If you're going to get just one cookie, make it be this one. The Peanut Butter cookie and the Snickerdoodle were both a little too dry (and we ate those right away, so it wasn't the timing) though I will add that Chris Holm actually LOVED the Snickerdoodle. But he's never had one before, and he's from Norway. (I can't help but think the poor guy is suffering from some Post Traumatic Jet-Lag Disorder that affects his ability to taste goodness properly. Maybe he's hyper producing saliva to counter any lack of moisture in food? This could be a blessing or a curse...we should really get it looked at.) I'm not much of a "brownie" guy, but the one I picked up at Cunningham's was wrapped in plastic and maintained its rich, chocolatey goodness for THREE WHOLE DAYS! I recommend that jam for sure. We were given a long, thick baguette that just hardened too quickly for us to eat on our journey so we gave it to Teeny (from TEEN). Not sure what she used it for, but their music is AMAZING. Check them out. Cunningham's also gave us a whole loaf of "Tres Semi" and we didn't get around to eating it until 4 days later. We sliced it up and threw it in the toaster for just a little warmth. It was delicious! The spices really jumped out, even still after all that time, and Sondre (who typically doesn't like Anise) found the flavor delightful. "It tastes the way a star in the midnight sky would taste. (Had you never given up on that childhood dream...of eating ALL the stars in the sky....cuz they're delicious....prolly)." So hands down, the Tres Semi Bread rules. I also the Bombay Fog Latte and loved it. Chai is my thing, and that drink kept residence in my house of tasty drinks. That's it. Go to Cunningham's!! ~Herremannen (drummer guy)

Towson's best hidden gem, if you ask me. It has a very homey ambiance, with plenty of seating outside too. Amazing breakfast burrito! I got it my first time there, and haven't strayed since. There are several comments here about bad service. I haven't experienced bad service, per se, but I have been there while new cashiers are stumbling around on the register, which I'd hardly call bad service.

The service is exceptional. Our server took the time to ask me how I was and was very helpful recommending food. I have ordered both the bagby breakfast sandwich as well as the bagby breakfast burrito. They were both delicious but I think I preferred the burrito. Be sure to stop by this place.

This is a great breakfast spot. Definitely something different. I had the breakfast burrito and the wife had their market breakfast. Something that may be missed easily but we definitely noticed was that the food was not greasy at all; which can happen with breakfast plates. The bacon in both dishes was DELICIOUS. The coffee was decent and they had honey and house made simple syrup for sweeteners which was a nice touch. This is probably our favorite breakfast place now.

Really love their coffee, definitely beats Starbucks any day. I came here for breakfast and we ordered Cafe Miel (sweet and frothy) but the is the Cinnamon Latte....amazing Omg!! Pricey but well worth it. Oh and their pancakes yum yum. Need to try them for lunch soon.

Cute place in Towson that I came to get breakfast with family. Parking is right across the street making it very convenient. When you walk in you see the cashier and a display of baked goods. My husband and I ordered a market breakfast and the breakfast burritto, and although it was a bit pricey it was pretty good. The food was nicely cooked and well seasoned. The bacon was also nicely cooked and wasn't greasy. We also had coffee which was okay, and you got free refills. Overall it was a cute place to have some food. The service was good and the food came out in an appropriate amount of time.

Been here twice for lunch. It's a quick walk from out office so we checked it out, I love it! One time I got the Greek salad, other time the apple curry. Both are great! My coworkers said they liked their sandwiches too. Salads are pricey if you add protein on, up to 16 bucks; but they fill me up without adding on a protein.

Slightly overpriced and too limited a food menu to keep going back for food variety. The bakery selection is good. Indoors it is dark, and a little cramped. But you can sit outside on a good day. A good place for a coffee, and maybe a quick bite. Bottomless coffee, but parking is 2 hours and Towson parking in general is a pain. All said and done, a good place for breakfast or enjoying a coffee outdoors.
This little bakery sheds the Baltimore image but it's feels more like your walking into a bakery in the west village of NYC. It offers coffee and home baked breads soups and sandwiches. All the food looks like its been prepared with care and attention to detail. It's location is excellent and walking distance from the Towson town center the penthouse condominiums the new movie theatre la fitness etc. A true gem in the center of Towson!

Love, love, love this place! The first time we went for Breakfast it was very clear that it hadn't been discovered yet. Much to my dismay the secret is out! You really cant go wrong with anything here. Breakfast is amazing- all bread made in house which makes for amazing biscuits for the breakfast sandwiches, the breakfast burrito is beyond great! The french toast is fantastic! For lunch- The Hot Italian is my go to and is so delicious. Also the oyster po boy and shrimp salad is delicious as well. My favorite coffee drink is the Sweet Mint Mocha. Also the desserts are incredible! I love the macaroons!

Cunningham's is a very cute bakery and cafe. Small, but charming, it makes you feel like you want to hang out and stay awhile. Bread products are all baked in-house. On our visit we had a butterscotch scone, a toasted English muffin, a couple of macaroons and an Arnold Palmer (half iced tea, half lemonade). Both the bakery items were good. Based on this, the cute environment, and some other delicious sounding items on the menu I'll come back again - even though everything else was less than I'd hoped. Misses: Macaroons - based on the texture, they seemed not as fresh as I'd hoped. I love that they make their own jam - but it was a huge disappointment, with a gummy texture that I couldn't wait to get out of my mouth. Smuckers would have been ok. Worse yet was the watered down Arnold Palmer - it tasted like neither lemonade or iced tea, Again, enough positives that we'll come back and focus on the bakery items that seem to be their strong point.

Surprising in a not so good sort of way. Went in with high expectations after searching for breakfast in Towson on Yelp and seeing the very strong 4.5 average rating. The counter service was quick and efficient, and the coffee pretty good, but it was all downhill from there. I ordered the egg platter, opting for eggs over medium, sausage patties as the meat choice, and whole grain toast...it also comes with taters. I took a seat at the window counter, and by the time I got back from dressing up my coffee the order number placard and coffee cup saucer had been cleared away. Not biggie, just an honest misunderstanding. The wait for my food wasn't inordinately long, but when it came it was dropped off by a seemingly disinterested young fella who had no problem delivering two eggs whose yolks were clearly already broken. Not wanting to wait, I dug quickly into them while they still appeared runny enough for dipping my toast (one of the great dining pleasures of life, in my book!). I dipped in with my one piece of toast - a pet peeve of mine. I swear one of their web site photos shows an egg platter with TWO slices of toast. Compounding the broken yolks and lonely toast was the fact that both the hash brown potatoes and sausage patties were quite cool. Honestly, a quality restaurant/cafe should know how to cook up a basic egg platter at least as well as what an everyday greasy spoon can produce. Very unexpected disappointing experience.

Came here for an almond milk cappuccino, a bag of coffee, and a loaf of bread. It's a nice place, rustic as is the trend. However, for a farm-to-table concept I'd expect them to have more vegetables and vegan options. You know, because plants grow on farms. The almond milk cappuccino was tasty, they sell Ceremony coffee (from Annapolis), and the loaf of bread that I took home was good. The cafe+bakery has a nice ambiance and atmosphere was pleasing. The employees were friendly. Altogether recommended. However, I'd like to see them integrate more vegetables and vegan options. You know, because plants grow on farms.

Had a fantastic goat cheese and Sausage omelette for breakfast. The ingredients tasted fresh and I loved the side salad touch for the side dish. One little annoyance...the food was delivered to our table and the lady asked us if we needed anything else. My wife asked for hot sauce and instead of walking twenty feet to grab it for us she proceeded to point in the direction where it was. I'm all for serving myself, but it felt slightly off from a customer service standpoint. It's all about the little things when it comes to keeping customers so I was really surprised that she dropped the ball. I'd definitely come back for the food.

Best coffee shop and pastries in Towson!

I really like this little place. They make the best bread in Baltimore by a tidy margin. Incomparable fresh complex flavor and wonderful texture: just enough chew and structural integrity but not so much that it's scraping up the roof of your mouth. The food is fresh, tasty and pretty reasonably priced. The omelette of the day is massive and delicious. I think the coffee is just okay. I find the TV incongruous and unwelcome but it's always muted. The space is otherwise very pleasant for a bite to eat or sitting with a coffee and some work. The best thing about Cunningham's is the service. The staff is warm, efficient and very quick to correct anything. The staff seem happy to be there and clearly want you to have a good experience as well. When I was there as part of a large group we were comped several bakery items and given samples of some of their drinks. Everyone has been both perfectly attentive and given me enough space to feel linger as I choose. Some places like this give me the feeling they want me out the door as quickly as possible after I hand them money. Cunningham's has struck the perfect balance as far as service is concerned. I hope they're around for a long time!

Mmmm. Love this place. Beautiful decor and beautiful food. I've gone here only a handful of times, but I would come here every week if I could!! My favorite is the grilled cheese with crunchy bread, grilled spring onions, and a heavenly tomato jam. I love getting a cup of their delicious tomato soup, which is sweet and thick: perfect for dipping the grilled cheese in :-) The desserts and pastries are amazing and my family loves buying the baguettes. I hope to be back here soon!! PS- the fries are super yum!

I never write reviews. But just had to share that the breakfast we just had at Cunninghams was the best we've had since coming to Baltimore 15 years ago. Seriously. The chocolate chip scone was moist and tasty with just the right balance of chips. The coffee was great as well, dark and strong but not bitter. The best, though, was the breakfast burrito - eggs fluffy and fresh, a touch of fresh salsa and avocado and some delicious sausage. Folks working there were incredibly nice and friendly as well. Will definitely return.

(5)Svetlana C.
I loved their Gingerbread Latte, it's probably the best I've ever had. It was very busy and lively but there were open tables, I loved the atmosphere, the food was great, service was quick and pleasant. Overall, great experience.
(5)Amy F.

Their homemade quiches are superb and I absolutely love their unique coffee options!

Update: Just came from there and the service is worse than ever. The food was also not as good as previous visits and the tables were dirty. I really want to like this place but it seems to be on the wrong track.
(2)Anne W.

(5)Jason L.
This is my go-to spot for a quality breakfast in Towson. Love the Bagby Breakfast Sandwich. Coffee is also really good here, and the cold brew might be some of the strongest coffee I've had. Skip the Towson Diner and come here.
(4)Dianne D.
(4)J M.

(4)Li E.
(5)Eva W.
Such a great little place. The rustic decor and parking across the street are a treat. But the real joy was the awesome chai and roast beef sandwich. The cashier was a bit confused about our bread options but at least got our order right eventually. This is not a cheap place but well worth it.
(5)Jeff K.
(5)Andrew R.
Bathroom door lock doesn't work, keep a foot on the door if you are doing anything other than peeing standing up
(3)Connie J.
(4)Matt D.
This review is for the bakery downstairs-- Portions were small, not much of a menu to browse through. Overly crowded on weekends and good luck finding a place to sit inside.
(3)Crystal B.

Two words: Go Here! Cunningham's café isn't one of those coffee shops that just happen to serve food as well, or vice versa. This place is the real deal - wonderfully roasted fresh coffee with creative specialty drinks as well as a variety of loose leaf teas, coupled with artisan baked good and deliciously fresh breakfast/lunch menu options. First, this place just feels homey. The fresh flower and cacti arrangements on the patio make for a nice entrance to the café and the perfect environment to relax and enjoy some coffee. The café has worn down rustic wood interior with a several tables and a large communal table near the condiments section. The staff is always really nice and coffee and food makes its way out the kitchen quickly. Its also a nice touch that everything is served in proper porcelain tableware if you choose to dine in. I always opt for one of the specialty coffee drinks, which change on occasion based on season. So far both the spearmint latte and cinnamon toast latte have been spot on and not too sweet. You cannot pass up the breakfast burrito, which is perfect to share. This burrito comes with savory home fry potatoes (that actually have flavor), fluffy scrambled egg, guacamole, black beans and picco de gallo. There's breakfast burritos and then there's the Cunningham breakfast burritos - just get it. On the other visit I had the breakfast sandwich which features fluffy scrambled eggs, white gooey cheddar cheese (not that artificial oily crap), and your choice of sausage, bacon, or scrapple on a cheddar/chive biscuit. I opted for the sausage, which proved to be a winning choice - just excellent. Just when you're stuffed, make sure to pick up one of their fresh baked loaves of bread to bring home. I picked up one of their sourdough loafs which was spectacular with just some good European butter and some kosher salt. I can go on and on, but just try this place. It rivals any café or coffee shop downtown without the parking nightmare of the city.

(5)Nicole W.
I just had the BEST breakfast burrito and cold brew iced coffee in my entire life here. The French fries were also very crispy and impossible to stop eating. Service was impeccable. Grab a seat on the outdoor patio for lunch!! If I lived here I'd be here all the time.
(5)J F.

It's in an awkward spot but it's worth it. Valet park in the garage below for free. We went for happy hour and were impressed. Next time we will eat in the restaurant.

(5)Tom P.
the people are super nice. got a warm snickerdoodle with the toast latte without the coffee and it was delicious. The presentation was very nice and it was very nice also.

I've decided everything this restaurant group touches, turns to gold. Their number one trait, being service. Having a sensational time at Fleet Street kitchen a few weeks ago, I was eager to try another one of their establishments. I heard from friends this was a great breakfast joint so decided to give it a whirl this weekend. Sunday morning we arrived around 10am. It was a sunny but cool morning but that didn't stop people from dining outside in their patio area. Their menu is simple but interesting, I'm gluten free/paleo so I always am drawn to the simple bacon and eggs. They have a special omelets of the day (it happened to be red pepper feta) and quiche which was mushroom. I decided to have the farm fresh eggs and ham steak. It came with home fries. I also ordered a cappuccino. The place is definitely that farm to table décor. Lots of rustic wooden touches. They had so many neat touches. Over at the coffee/utensil cabinet they had adorable little creamer containers you could fill with your liking. They had tons of seasonings for coffee cinnamon/cocoa etc. You get a number and sit down and don't have to worry about a thing. They brought our food, refreshed coffee.. brought me extra cinnamon for my cappuccino. They were great. Everyone there was so wonderful to talk to I left with a huge smile on my face. You know what you're doing guys! You hire real gems and your food is always so great. My scrambled eggs and potatoes were wonderful and the ham steak that it came with was huge! Portions are good sizes and I don't think it's that expensive. I'll definitely be back! I loved this place!

(5)Jen W.
(4)Brian Y.
Great ambiance, good to great food, terrible service and borderline rude employees. Will come back and hope the service gets better.
(3)Nancy L.

Delicious pastries, coffee and quiche. Lovely atmosphere inside and nice outdoor seating too. Hidden gem in Towson!

I ordered the ham steak 'n eggs as well as iced sweet peach tea . My friend order a desert and coffee. And they are good. when next time we go Towson, we will visit it again.

(5)Ayse G.
Try it if you have not.

Cinnamon Toast Latte was perfection, enough coffee taste and not too sweet, and it was so tasty! It was paired with a cheese Danish that was to die for fresh and a good balance of flaky, sweet, and cheesy! (Warning: they make their stuff fresh for the day, so if they sell out of cheese Danish for example, you'll just have to try another day) I say this because my fiancé and I bought the LAST cheese Danish!!! Also had the breakfast burrito - which was also very fresh tasting, all the ingredients were a great combo of flavors that worked well to satisfy my tastebuds. We also bought a loaf of lemon Rosemary bread and a baguette to take home, but we couldn't wait so we ended up eating some on the way home. The service was great. You order at the till and pay for your food there. Then you go and find a table. They have complimentary clear plastic cups with lids and straws so that you can grab some water to wash down all of the awesomeness. And then your food gets brought to your table. Great set up all around. Location was easy to find and there seemed to be suitable parking. My fiancé and I will definitely be coming back.
