It's a Pub... it has a pub feel. It can get a bit crowded on a Tues, Thurs, Fri, or Saturday. This is one of Towson Universities biggest hangouts. There are ALOT of people here. Good Drink Specials, and one of the few places open till the crack of dawn on new years. They have a patio in the back w/ tables and chairs. Pool tables upstairs, and a total of 3 seperate bars... one on each floor.

I enjoy this bar because it's good people and good drinks for cheap. Saturday night is $2.50 "you call it" and it's so much fun. There is an upstairs bar and a patio, so there is room to mingle and drink. The bartenders are awesome - Andy is the best bartender there. I love him! :) All in all - CVP is a fun place with good music, good drinks and good people.

OMG. W.O.W. Just horrible. Not bad. Horrible place to eat. We went, ordered an appetizer (crab dip). Selection is limited and you can read between the lines, some crappy food is served. It took forever to get our drinks, then our appetizer finally arrived. You know, when I was 10 years old and we had cooking classes at school, we were whipping way better dishes than Charles Village Pub. It was darn awful. The chef came out and said that "crab is blended in there". Well, I guess if you take 50 gallons of some cheap sour cream, doze it with Old Bay, use three pounds of WalMart brand cheddar and "blend" a single crab claw from Philippines, you can say it is "blended in there". I needed a Hubble telescope to find any trace of crab in this sour pus dip, really. Yuck. Well, asked for the check, paid for the drink and bye. I am giving up on Towson food places, they are not even trying to serve decent food. Crap, and then some more crap. We gave up and went to Bertucci's. Next time will just go to baltimore city places. Come on, Baltimore county and Towson! What is wrong with you? Can I give less than one star to Charles Village Pub? I would if I could! We were walking out and I saw people coming in, I wanted to rush forward and plea, "DO NOT GO THERE!", darn, do not waste your time, if your taste buds are frozen or absent since birth, go ahead. But otherwise, go to the food cart peddler and get his food, tastes three thousand times better than anything this Charles Village has.

In January of 2011, Charles Village Pub in Towson had a "structural" fire. The bar was torn down and rebuilt over the past year. The bar/pub/patio has had a "soft opening" this weekend - with a grand opening scheduled for Monday (4/23). I visited on Saturday night - and arrived at 9PM. At that time the bar was not too crowded - a 30th birthday party was taking place on the 2nd floor and there was plenty of space to walk around, get a drink at any of the 4 bars, and grab a table to sit. As learned, with any bar in Towson, when 10:30 comes around, all hell breaks lose. Around that time, half of Towson arrived - lines to get in the front door. There was no place to really peacefully sit/stand and talk on the 2nd floor, there was a fight between female patrons in the bathroom, a bar-back spilled a pitcher of beer on my arm (he did apologize several times). I suppose it just comes with the territory. The 1st floor was a little more calm - with a few tables and a less packed bar. (The "dance" area is located on the 2nd floor - lights down, etc.) If you want a chill outing - this probably isn't the place for you after 10PM. I've since gone back several times in the early evening for happy hour or a late(r) dinner. It was a better experience. The environment is great, the drink selection is good, but the food is mediocre.

Service was awesome! Go see Elizabeth at the bar. Greek salad...yum and can't go wrong with the wings. Old Bay my fav. Great atmosphere and fun deck in warmer weather.

Fun bar, but has gotten loud since the last time I went. Cheap stuff still though so thats a plus. Was our mistake going on a friday night. Nice place, if you don't mind loud and fun atmosphere. And the bartenders are awesome too!

CVP is one of the better night life choices in Towson. The drink specials can't be beat, and Tuesday's offer a early evening burger special that my friends are huge fans of. The bar area tends to get overcrowded as the night progresses, but I generally tend to stick to the patio during later hours. The bouncers have always been very nice, and the bar service is very fast. A good college-town atmosphere; The food is typical American-pub style; There's lots of hot wings and mozzeralla sticks-esqe options to soak up all the cheap beer you guzzle.
