I am giving the service 3-stars but the pupusas are a 5-star my friend! Wow, just try the pupusas revultas and you'll know you're in the right place! The waitress (if you can call her that) brought our dishes out leisurely and one of us got our mondongo soup 20min late! But I hear it was delicious so it was worth the wait! By the way, they don't sell alcohol so if you are looking for a cold brusky with a hot, oozing pupusa, this isn't the place for that...but then again, the cold tamarindo beverage was an excellent substitute ;o)

To simply put it: The best pupusas in the area, we tried their tamales, carne asada, rice pupusas (ayote & revueltas) with a side order of escabeche (cauliflower, onions, carrots, greenbeans & jalapeños in vinegar) and also their frescos (tamarindo, ensalada de fruta and marañon)

Probably the best Papusa's in the area! Unlike other Salvadorean establishments, this one has plenty indoor seating and is really really clean! Plenty of parking is also available in the parking lot of the plaza. This is a great place to go for cheap eats. The papusa's are less than 2 bucks a piece. You can take a date and have an "ethnic" feast for less than 15$. I highy recommend the fried plantains con crema (4.95- enough for two people), the chicken papusa, as well as the frijol y queso papusa. All the papusa's are served with hot sauce and a type of Salvadorean cole-slaw. The food is available for dine in or take out. I HIGHLY recommend this if you are looking for something new. The best part is, it's completely unknown outside of the langley park area. :-)

Not bad for the first time. Ordered the chicharron y queso (pork and cheese) and the queso con pollo (cheese and chicken) and they were on par with the better pupusa places in the DMV. I wouldn't quite put them as the best the way many others do, but they do carry their own weight as far as pupusas go. Cheesy, stuffed, and bursting with flavor. The only thing that suffered was the Horchata. Leaning on the bland side and didn't have the punch you'd expect from traditional salvadorean horchatas. Outside of that however, solid pupusa spot to satisfy your inner Guanaco. Buen provecho!

Love the pupusas is here. My favorite is the queso pupusas. Everything here tastes homemade and fresh. The last time I was here I tried the fajita mixta which comes with steak, chicken, rice, salad and beans for about $13. I also recommend getting the fruit salad, it looks like a orange colored drink with bits of cut up fruit inside. It's not too sweet and very refreshing on a hot day. The people are friendly but the service is kinda slow. The men's bathroom also needs to be cleaned more often.

Their pupusas are okay but their service is the worst ever. I had placed an order over the phone and was told my order would be ready in 20 minutes. I gave them an extra 25 minutes to go pick up my order. I tell the guy at the cash register I'm here to pick up my order and he says oh they are not ready yet. I sat there for 43 minutes almost 1 hr and a half to get some pupusas. I asked the guy did you guys forget my order and he's like oh we are short of staff. Number one not my problem number two when was I gonna be told that. He has no customer service at all. Instead of me being upset he gets pissed and starts to catch his attitude. I honestly don't know what he does there because he has no skills.

Living in Watsonville, CA for 5 years, I have become accustomed to enjoying restaurants where excellent food can be found, but where the guests and staff only speak 50% of the English language. This is one of those places. When I entered, no one greeted me, though it is a sit down restaurant. I think they thought I was lost. There was a rope barrier near the counter, so I got in line and waited for someone to take my order. After a few minutes of trying get some eye contact, someone behind the counter took my order and told me I could sit down. At this point, it was clear to me that I could have been the only white dude that had entered this restaurant that day, maybe even that week. The restaurant was 3/4ths filled with Hispanic families having a great time. But that just means alot of white dudes missed out on some legit pupusas! I had never heard of pupusas before. In fact, maybe these aren't even traditional pupusas - I don't know. What I had were 4-inch wide dough cakes filled with a ground pork and cheese mixture and then flattened and cooked on a griddle. The end product tasted kind of like a richer, smaller quesodilla. Very savory and tasty and hot, it was a great small dinner. It was served with a spicy coleslaw and either a cold, spicy tomato soup, or a lame hot sauce. I had no clue from the menu that those items were coming, so I tried them and didn't get a third of the way done with either. The pupusas were the clear star of the show. When I went to pay, I was told there was a $5 minimum for credit card orders (not posted anywhere, but usually a standard practice). The staff was kind enough to let me walk down to an ATM and withdraw some cash, but I had to pay $3 to do that, so I should have just ordered some more food. In summary, ordering over $5 worth of pupusas would a be a good buy, and I'll bet the rest of the menu is pretty solid.

I was at el comalito about a week ago normally I always eat pupusas , but that day I decided to order the steak ,rice and salad . That the worst steak ever so if u go to that place just don't eat steak. But I still love their rice pupusas .

This place has the WORST management I have ever seen with these brown eyes! La persona encargada de ser gerente de este lugar debe de ser despedido!! No sirve para nada es bien repugnante! I ordered 20 pupusas over the telephone -- I arrived at the location and low and behold they had sold them to someone else. The worst part was that there was no apology to me, they could care less...their manager needs to get fired. They don't know how to run a professional business, therefore --- they don't get my business!!!

Let me start by saying I gave 3 stars only because they gave decent service. And the atmosphere is enjoyable. Had I based it on food alone, plate presentation would b e 3 stars, taste would be a strong 2 stars. No flavor. Looks good, comes to the table hot. I think if they get their seasoning game together it would make them more appealing. Also they don't serve beer. The sauce for the pupusas had no texture, none. Came out like water. Should have a one thickness n a Lil texture. Not a bad experience just a bland one.

It is a nice place and the dining area is pretty big, so seating kids is very comfortable with high chairs. The food is good, i tried pupusas and soup and the flavor was good. The is waiters and waitresses are very nice and they are fast bringing the food out. I think ill be back soon, I still think the best pupusas belong to Azucar in silver Spring but if around takoma this is the place to visit for authentic Salvadoran food!!!

Great Pupusas and awesome price. The last time I went in we had a super nice waitress. My daughters and I though she's the nicest we've ever had serve us here. The food took about 20 minutes though but that's not our waitresses fault. The place is usually packed and many times we've shown up and left because it's just that busy. It's probably best to go on weekdays and not right at lunchtime.

La pupusa de espinaca y queso sabor es apagado. Hay un algo extraña sobre es. No estoy seguro que usa espinaca congelado, or un condimento ellos usan. Yes, the prices are still wonderfully low. Yes, the waiters are still nice, be forewarned there might be a language barrier. Luckily I'm able to speak a bit of Spanish. I got three pupusas: 1. Spinach and cheese 2. Chicharones and queso 3. Frijoles and queso 1. The spinach and cheese pupusa just tasted OFF. There was something a little funky about it. I'm not sure if they use frozen spinach... or what seasoning they put on it. It was one of those things where I kept on taking bites trying to figure what that flavor was. All I know was... I didn't like it. 2. The chicharones and queso. The flavor was a bit muddled... but it was the texture that really bothered me. It was a bit gritty inside. 3. The frijoles and queso: The pupusa that I thought would be the safest... well it was burnt ( to start off with). Like really burnt- not like: "Kissed by the gentle flame of the griddle leaving mild char that not only enhances flavor but is reminiscent of a hot juicy dog of the grill. No, it was plain burnt. But outside of that, there was just beans inside. And those frijoles refritos were of really low quality. Like, much worse than Old El Paso. Like if they were on the meat scale... probably like Grade F meat. So all of the pupusas were a wash. Their slaw is still not vinegary enough, and the sauce that they serve the slaw with (which is very tomato-y and water-y) is not flavorful enough to introduce anything bold to the game. The other thing I ordered with a 4. Tamale de pollo 4. Huge, flavorful, perfectly cooked, brimming with chicken, garbanzo beans, and spices. Served fresh in a banana leaf, steaming, and this thing is BIG. You know how a regular tamale is about the thickness of a broom. This is like a coke can. Ya know how people say "that's one hot tamale". That's one thick tamale! So you can see my dilemma here...

An immersion into El Salvador. Virtually all patrons are Salvadorian, and few staff speak English. There are both rice and corn pupusas, which are served with a large side of salad (curtido). On weekends, they have chicken soup (sopa de gallina) which is quite good. Place is packed on Friday nights and weekends. Their horchata is very good, quite strong. Four stars because I think La Casita, which is nearby, has better pupusas and carne asada. As with many similar retaurants, you can call ahead to place an order, even if you are eating in. Useful if you don't want to wait around for your pupusas.

The pupusas come in a choice of either corn or rice flour dough. I had never had rice pupusas, so I tried it. Hmmm. Sort of like a dog singing - more interesting than good. However the corn pupusa was quite good, and the accompanying slaw was too.
