We had the fried green beans as an appetizer and they were nice & crispy. My husband had the honey dipped fried chicken . It was moist, juicy and had a crispy breading. I had the hot dog and it was very yummy. The Oriole theme is a nice touch with lots if Cal Ripken Jr memorabilia! Its a good value for the food.

We were passing through on the way home (scenic route instead of I95) from a trip further south. The Ballpark Restaurant is more of a small diner, and filled with both locals and Orioles memorabilia. Our waitress was very friendly--she told us a bit about how the restaurant was started and about the collection, and I told her it needed some Orioles caricatures---and gave her my business card ( I draw caricatures for a living). Our breakfast, especially the light, fluffy pancakes, was better than we were expecting. My other half enjoyed his coffee...I'm always a little sad to get Lipton tea... I like a little selection of teas. But that was the only downside. After we left, we got a call 30 seconds down the road...my Other Half had left his scarf (which was a gift from his dad) and the waitress had my phone number! Nicely played, Ballpark Restaurant.

Great place. Been going here for years. Older clientel and a very mainstream diner-type menu, but actually very good. A nice country type diner.

In our continuing quest for decent and interesting places to eat along remote stretches of Rt. 1, we decided to check out the Ball Park Cafe. It's a little bitty place all done up in Oriole orange, has lots of sports memorabilia on the walls including about one whole wall dedicated to area resident and baseball legend Cal Ripken, which was pretty neat to see. Also some Colts and Ravens stuff for good measure (a Unitas framed jersey). Their fried oysters and homemade crab cakes, both of which come as either a sandwich or a platter, were A-OK. I think Cal would approve. If you're not into oysters or crab cakes, they also have many other typical diner choices available. But y'know, I can get a burger any ol' place, but am always thrilled to find a new crab cake stop off the beaten path, where I don't have to fight the traffic and pay Baltimore parking prices to get one. The only thing that seemed a little off was that they put a huge dish of butter pats on every table, but then didn't serve us any bread with the dinner plates. I don't think this was a server mistake as I didn't see the other tables getting any either. I probably don't need the extra calories from bread, but it made me wonder what all that butter was for. Maybe the bread truck just forgot to stop the day we ate there.

Really old fashioned place with 95% of the patrons are over 70. Many of the people can't stop coughing which is annoying but that's not the restaurants fault.

Great service, good food...loved the crab soup and crab cakes. Plenty of parking outside.

Sweet tea and rice pudding. Don't expect much from the menu, just let it happen. It is in the middle of nowhere and it is small. Baseball decor and a lunch counter feel. They will know you aren't local when you walk in, but they are friendly and the food is decent.

This place is so adorable. The wait staff took great care of us and the food was good. Try the cream of crab soup and don't miss out on the pie!!
