Best place for breakfast and coffee in the entire county Don't waste your time and money anywhere else Cool scene and music too, esp if you like classic rock

This is my second time here. The service is great; the people are really nice. The first I came I got the Finnagin(?) biscuit. It was sausage

Someone recommend this place and we were so glad we came here! Fresh food, great atmosphere and wonderful service. We had a salad, turkey wrap and small pizza - all were delish! We will definitely come back and recommend to others.

Outdoor seating across from the Pax River and quaint, tastefully decorated seating inside. You can watch boats lazily sail by on the tree shaded patio as you devour savory breakfast sandwiches. Highly recommend the bacon, egg and sauteed spinach on a croissant. No lack of bacon.

My husband and I stopped here for lunch and key lime pie. My husband had the bbq Chipotle pulled pork bowl and I had the quiche with a salad. SO GOOD. & the key Lime pie was heavenly. Definitely will stop by when we are in the area again

Went in JUST to try their key lime pie. Bought an entire pie to take home to enjoy after dinner. IT WAS DELICIOUS!! Smooth, enough limeliness but not artificial, and yummy graham cracker crust. Also liked how it wasn't artificially colored. Only thing hubby commented on is he wished it was firmer. We are freezing the rest to see how it is frozen. Felt it was a little expensive tho...$20

Enjoyable lunch and atmosphere, great staff and location. Decent prices too. Had a delicious salad and tomatoe soup out on the lovely front porch overlooking the river.

Fun food choices, enough variety to allow for many happy visits. Very pleasant to sit by the water and watch a great blue Heron. Great coffee.

Cute space but Overpriced. $11 for a sandwich that was smaller than a 3x5 index card! the fillings were chopped so large that they fell out of the sandwich and you were basically just biting into bread. not worth the price or the wait!

Lovely experience on weekday morning. Perfect outdoor seating. Great food- we had the breakfast burritos and delicious coffee. Service was relaxed and friendly. Menu is outstanding- can't wait to go back for lunch.

My husband and I came here for lunch on a Saturday. The atmosphere is very cool, laid back and artsy. The woman taking our order was extremely nice and very fun to talk to. I can't remember the cute names, but we got the Mediterranean meatballs, BBQ short rib biscuit, spinach and cucumber caprese salad, a blackberry lemonade, and key lime pie. I could go on about each thing in detail, because that's just how good and fun the food was, but just know it was all amazing. The salads were especially good. I will absolutely come back every time I'm in the area.

The word "Lotus" is usually synonymous with entrees sans beef, ham, or bacon but didn't find a lot of that on this particular visit. From what I gather, there are usually a couple of different options, but weren't available this time 'round. Some things had already been preassembled with bacon or ham leaving pickin' a little slim. I'm sure time of day makes a world of difference. Next time. The service was somewhat of a miss. The cashier wasn't particularly inviting and was somewhat aloof during our visit. Sometimes local establishments need a good spokesperson to bring a menu to life- this wasn't one of those occasions. The gentleman who brought the food out was genuine and pleasant, however. The food was good and tasted fresh. The "Wild Turkey" on an Everything Bagel was a winner with carved turkey breast, cream cheese and sundried tomatoes. Yum. The couscous also won me over with it's dates and pineapple; a unique pairing indeed. The Italian pineapple-banana soda was way too sweet and syrupy to be refreshing. The key lime was good and is sure to shine during any season. Verdict: Probably best experienced on the earlier side of the lunch hour when there's a wider variety.

Excellent turkey wrap with fresh, thick cut turkey. Great salad and potato salad sides and delicious key lime pie to top it all off!

Went on a Sunday morning for brunch with friends. There is ample seating outside, which is great. We ordered inside, but grabbed chips and drinks while we were waiting for food. It came out fairly quickly to our table outdoors. I got the mozzarella and tomato quiche. It was good and the crust was amazing, but it was tiny. I could have eaten 3. My husband got the ten pin, which was a meatball sub. It was a fairly small sandwich but it was substantial and he said it was good. The wait staff came to bus our table a couple times, which was quite nice. You can also clean your own dishes, and they have a recycling bin for bottles and cans! Nice touch. The interior is cute and quaint. Overall experience was good but I hate to leave hungry!

Excellent atmosphere and the key lime pie is to die for!! Seriously the best I have ever eaten. It has a super buttery thick crust with a tart very fresh lime topping.. I have not tried the other food or teas but am very impressed with the menu!! It is different and reasonable! We have enough of same ol same ol around here!! Cant wait to go back!

Great location across from the river. Nice selection of outdoor seating. Service and food were just mediocre.

Stopped by here for lunch during the holiday weekend while visiting my dad who lives across the river. It's a great place to grab a cold beverage and a bite to eat while sitting under the shades of the trees in their outdoor area and watch all the boats. The place is small so it can get busy and slow at times. But then again, if you are in a hurry, you might as well skip this place as you will miss the charm of a summer day on Solomon's Island!

I adore this place! I've never had a bad experience here. Menu changes all the time, which makes you try different things. No SOMD standards here and I'm so glad. We need more places like this. Had the best gazpacho (do you know how happy I was to find gazpacho in Southern Maryland?) last summer.

Great little place for a breakfast by the water. We enjoyed the quaint atmosphere and friendly staff. I enjoyed a breakfast sandwich and chai tea while my friend enjoyed a turkey wrap. We took the dog with us and there were very accommodating. They even provided a water bowl for the dog since it was getting hot out. Love this place!

Nice patio, but the service is rude. We have been here a few times because of the location, but I believe there are better food options that offer better service for us in the area.

My boyfriend and i stopped in for lunch this past weekend and were pleasantly surprised! It seems a little strange at first as it very much looks like someone's house, but the food was very convincingly a restaurant. I had the ahi tuna with quinoa and feta, which was amazing. My boyfriend had a fantastic turkey club wrap with real hand-carved turkey. We shared a spinach, artichoke and cream cheese quiche with a perfectly flaky crust. The tropical couscous side dish was quite tasty, too! We were lucky enough to get a table outside, though the front yard was under some construction. All in all a great find!

The GF and I visited Solomon's Island in the off-season. A cold, blustery, Saturday in November when we were in the mood for a long, lazy, car drive from Annapolis, and another charming Chesapeake town to explore. This town is really mostly about catering to the summer tourist crowd who go there to enjoy the waterfront and get their party on, and many of the places that do so close for the winter. The fact that this place was open at all was in and of itself remarkable. After a couple of hours of walking the town, strolling along the boardwalk and in and out of the antique stores and other little shops, we were ready for a bite to eat, and we happened across this place. It takes up the bottom floor of a good-sized two-story house, and it's a little weird walking in there - you open up the front door, and it almost feels like you're violating someone's private home. It is a very warm and friendly place, though, and if we lived in this town, we'd be here a lot. The staff is friendly, helpful, and efficient. The menu isn't extensive, but it's an interesting mix of choices, and everything we ordered was well-prepared and delicious, and the prices were extremely reasonably. The key lime pie, as you would expect, is off the charts.

The quiche was not a quiche...more like a flan with crust. Not too appetizing. The key lime pie was lackluster. Disappointing.

Love the unique menu that changes. Really excellent sandwiches, pasta, quiche...Really great vegetarian options. Fun, funky little place. Hubby likes it as much as I do.

This is a charming coffee shop with a great location just across from the Solomon's boardwalk (Patuxent River) and among several art shops and restaurants. They have several rooms for indoor seating (nicely decorated and very relaxing) as well as outdoor seating. Their coffee selection is really good, along with their breakfast, lunch and dinner (mostly sandwiches and wraps). They also have beer and wine. Their key lime pie is really good. We stayed in town for several days so we went to the coffee shop multiple times. My only concern was that on Friday (July 5th, 2013) we went around 9:20PM to get our evening coffee just to find out the coffee shop was closed (advertised to close 10PM on Fridays) and you could see the workers inside but the door was closed and the "Close" sign was up. Also, in one of our visits there was a long line and just one employee in the front so in an attempt to go through the line quickly my latte was warm and not hot. Overall a wonderful experience and highly recommended. Do checkout their schedule for live music...

Parents were in town for the week and they wanted to see Solomon's Island. Of course, we had to visit all the typical tourist traps and the day dragged on and on and on. Kudos to the boy genius(me) for wanting to try Kim's. Loved the setup as you feel like you're having lunch at a friends house. Parents had the wraps and I had the Gutterball. Nothing like Fritos, ham, and cheese whiz together. A damn tasty sandwich. Parents were full after this, so we couldn't walk to anymore traps. Tragedy!

I have a serious soft spot for cafes in converted houses. Something about being in a living room just really makes you feel like home. And seeing Sriracha on the table like ketchup made me smile. Their menu is fun and prices were extremely reasonable. Went their for breakfast and had the yummy Good Karma: Egg, Brie, Bacon, and Balsamic Wilted Spinach on a Croissant. They have lots of flavors for italian soda and syrups for coffee. I had the gingerbread latte and it was the perfect amount of sweetness (since I don't like them too sweet). It was like drinking a cookie! The people here was super nice to boot!

Friendly staff, delicious pie in a slightly quirky atmosphere... Good place for a casual or quick lunch

Very decent pie. Honestly it tastes just like the pie I make at home but with better crust (I'm lazy and use premade. My husband would really prefer if I made from scratch, I guess now I'll have to). I'm not a fan of meringue so I was happy to see it was an unadorned pie. My husband would have liked a dollop of real whipped cream though.

Excellent food (key lime pie is awesome) and great service!! Lovely find on the boardwalk :)

Creative eats! Wine and beers are craft. Great hipster atmosphere with outside seating and guest musicians on weekends. Really a great place for lunch, or sunset beer...Kelly, Amanda and Staff treat you well!

Love this place. Their wraps are the best! Also the best chocolate milkshake I've ever had. Such a cute atmosphere, lovely view if you sit outside. Prices are a little high.

Favorite local lunch spot!

I just bought my first key lime pie from Kim's in my quest to find a great key lime pie. I have to say it was AMAZING!! The perfect amount of tanginess and creamy texture and the crust was perfect. I ordered the pie by phone and picked it up at Lotus Kitchen. What a delightful place! I will definitely be back for lunch...and more pie!

Our new favorite hangout. The Mellow Portabello: Roasted portabello mushroom, marinated onion, spinach and tomato-pesto goat cheese on focaccia and any soup of the day they have is my standing favorite. Great job!!
