I went here to get some pho to take out. For takeout orders, they only let you order size Large. Also, I ordered the vegetarian pho with tofu, and there was barely ANY tofu. Just a few cubes. Other than these small discrepancies, it was an overall good experience coming here. They brought my food out quickly and the service was excellent - all the staff was very nice and welcoming. The food was pretty good but not outstanding.

Stopped here on the way back from a beach on the Chesapeake; we were looking for a place near the highway where we wouldn't be embarrassed in sandy clothes. Our spring rolls and noodles were perfectly fine, but the tapioca balls in my (very sweet) passionfruit bubble tea were still semi-frozen, and we didn't have any sauces at our table until we flagged down a waiter. I usually don't write a review after one so-so experience, but I figure I'm not likely to revisit a restaurant this far from home unless it's an exceptional one.

Had the steak pho and some bubble tea. I hadn't eaten pho in years. This place was good. They bring the bubble tea in a cup that is pre packaged. But it was good. I will be going back to this place.

One of my favorite things about this restaurant is the interior space. It's quaint and cozy, and has a very mellow vibe to it. My other favorite things about this restaurant include: 1. Bun Bo Hue 2. Taro bubble tea 3. Warm and friendly service We've also tried several other dishes and not a single one has disappointed. Great, authentic Vietnamese fare!

Having lived in nearby two year, I went to Viet Pho quite often and found the quality and consistency of their good to be very good! As many people tend to be fixated with the pho bowls --which are delicious! I would recommend trying other things that are equally delicious. Such as the hot pots (my favorite), or the pork chop dishes. Can't wait to head back to Maryland and try this place again.

This was the first time I've been to a Vietnamese restaurant and I have to say I was pretty impressed. It was lunch and a friend had invited me for a bite to eat so I felt a little adventurous. Why the heck not? It's in the Hillandale shopping center which is an eclectic mix of businesses and stores. This restaurant, for instance, is next to a real estate office. Go figure. Anyway. It 's clean and tidy with plenty of room to spread out and enjoy a good meal. The appetizers were very tasty (and attractively presented) and the entree was excellent. Top all this off with attentive and efficient staff and it makes for a great experience. I'll definitely check it out, again, to try out some different dishes. The one I had was great. My friend warned me that some of the sauces might be hot but I thought they were fine. Go. If you like Vietnamese food. This is a great place (I actually saw some people who looked like Vietnamese eating there!). If you've never had Vietnamese food, this is a great place to try it out!

"Pho stars"... get it. Across the street from where i work, and its much better Pho than the ones i have tried in New York! The summer rolls and the peanut sauce paired very well together. The shrimp in the rolls were fresh and and vegetables gave it a good crunch. The pho broth is the star here though! It tastes great and is full of flavor and basically what sets each pho place apart. The rice noodles were also great and the meats/tendons which accompanied the dish were all great. Definitely give this place a try! will probably be coming back soon.

Amazing customer service. Very friendly. The food came quite fast. They made it nice and spicy, as requested, and still managed to be really spicy. Which was impressive as you don't get that often in Asian restaurants. Ambience is not bad, place is a little small. Had ordered - Shrimp spring rolls, Sweet basil tofu, sweet basil seafood combo and mango sticky rice for dessert. Will return.

I visited Viet Pho & Grill during lunch recently and I had a pretty enjoyable experience. There's plenty of parking out front (or anywhere in the Hillandale Shopping Center area). The restaurant is casual and there is plenty of seating inside. Service was friendly and efficient and I really like that they are open at 10am for lunch (for those of us who like to have an early lunch). What I also really liked about this place was the fact that they have 3 size options for pho - small, medium, large. Usually there is usually a Small or Large option. I usually opt for the Large option, which is quite filling. But this time, I had the option to go with the Medium, which was a perfect portion. As for the food itself, I ordered the Pho Ga (chicken pho) and though it was tasty, it wasn't the best pho I've ever had. The chicken portion wasn't too generous and half of my soup seemed to be bean sprouts and basil. Overall, not bad. But I would still like to have more chicken with my soup. But for the price, it's definitely worth it - less than $10 overall for my meal (including tax and tip). That's how pho should be and often is not in the DC area (where many places charge you $13+ for just a bowl of pho). I will likely visit Viet Pho & Grill again because it's so convenient and the soup was tasty and perfect for this currently cold wintery weather.

i met a friend for lunch on a weekday and we were happy to be seated immediately even though it was about 12:15, prime lunch hour. i ordered the lemongrass stir-fry with chicken ($9.95) and requested brown instead of white rice, but was told that they did not have any brown rice. oh well. i also requested no spice on my dish, not "mildly spicy" not "little spicy" but "NO SPICE" which means absolutely nothing in the dish that will burn in my mouth. service was pretty quick as our orders were taken, and food brought out in a matter of minutes. i noticed that my dish had some red flakes on it, and wondered if it'd be spicy, but thought i'd try it anyway...maybe it was some other flavouring or seasoning that wasn't spicy. the first few bites were ok, but after a few minutes, my mouth started to burn, and i realized that maybe these flakes were spicy red pepper flakes? i asked my friend to try some and give me her opinion, and she agreed, this dish was pretty spicy, at least a medium-hot spicy, in her opinion. i flagged down my waiter and asked him if he made my dish spicy after i specifically requested "not spicy" and he claimed to have written down "not spicy" but apparently the cook put the red pepper flakes on the chicken. furthermore, he pointed out that i'd already eaten most of the dish (implying that he wouldn't bring me a replacement), which i agreed with, and let him know that i wasn't looking for a newly cooked dish, and intended to pay for the meal, but i just wanted to know what happened to my supposedly non-spicy chicken dish. fortunately, my water was refilled at least once (maybe twice, i can't remember), so i gulped down a lot of water to diffuse the spiciness in my mouth (i really am a spice wimp, can't take even a little spiciness in my dish!) even though my dish was spicy, the actual chicken was good, and i felt i received a nice lunch-sized portion for $10.

The food was fantastic. The service was great. We ordered the shrimp summer rolls, Pho, Vermiccelli, and boba drinks. The summer rolls were addictively delicious. Habit forming. The Pho was everything I was hoping for and more, and there wasn't a noodle remaining when my Husband finished his Vermiccelli - the pork from which he shared, and it was VERY tasty stuff. The restaurant is clean. I really enjoyed their paintings. The boba was great - it came "frozen" or "blended" which I hadn't experienced before, but it is a hot summer and it was delightfully sweet and refreshing.

Reminder to self: do not come here again. I'm currently sitting at the booth and really upset about my situation. We haven't been for a while because there was like an eye lash in my summer roll the last time. This time... A flipping gnat in my bf soup. The sign says they open at ten. We came at ten thirty and the employees look like they don't want to be here... Nothing is set up... They don't even look like they wanted to be there... And this is thirty mins after opening. Strike one. Second.... Food just was not good. Summer rolls were extremely chewy.. Not in a good way. Bf and I got pho. The brother literally tasted like hot nothing. There was no flavor in it. Sucked. No herbs to help out either. I got a medium and there wasn't much noodles... Or meat. Just suuuucked. And lastly, there was a gnat in my bf soup. Never again. I'm not one to ever skip out in a bill but I wanted to just walk out. Not like they were being attentive anyway. Awful start to the weekend. Do not come here unless you want bugs in your food.

Their food is good. I think it's a bit overpriced considering there are other Vietnamese restaurants that serve similar food for less and are just as delicious and has better service. When we went about 2 weeks ago, there was a wait for lunch - surprising because the previous time we went for lunch there were only a handful of guests. The service was horrible, we waited a long time for the menu and then even longer to order, they brought out the wrong food, forgot my coffee, and in the end, the server gave me a ton of attitude when I asked for the check. The hot clay pot dishes are pretty darned good - not a ton of obvious, overpowering flavor, but nice, gentle waves of deliciousness that stays scalding hot through the end. I would have given this a 2 star rating if it wasn't for this dish. At the end I the day, I'm most likely not going back.

I enjoy the food here...the price is a bit much for the amount of food they serve per person. However if paying a little more to receive tasty food it is worth it. I usually order our food to go and chill at the bar until it's ready. I don't partake in alcohol consumption however the bartender is usually mixing up something. I noticed imported beer, wine and mixed drinks of some sort. I also noticed some glasses of what appeared to be fresh coconut water.

I had been here once before but the service I received that day was far better. We walked in and stood, waiting to see if we would be seated. We were waved in (silently) from a distance to our table. The menus were placed on the table without a word and the server walked away. I stared and waited until the waiter returned, which took too long. Our appetizers arrived with our food. I was put off by the staff in the kitchen coming out with gloved hands but using those hands to push open the doors. Same with the guy serving water - with I gloved hands he inserted straws into glasses by pushing down on the top of the straw with his fingers. I ordered a beer that didn't arrive (I wound up asking for it with the check), nobody was around for me to ask for a check for a long time... I hope this was a fluke. I'll be back.

Consistently good pho, delicious bubble tea and attentive service. The caramel fish is good but a little salty. I've tried the pad. Thai but wouldn't recommend it.

Came here for lunch today and I'm glad I did. My first time eating here and I can't wait to come back.. I ordered the grilled pork with rice & salad. It was juicy, tender and delicious! They gave a lot of rice ( I couldn't finish it) but it was delicious. I also got a Thai tea. They make it perfect. I wish they had banh mi (sandwiches). I definitely recommend this place for Thai food lovers!

I always come to this pho restaurant because the other ones in Langley park are really disgusting or just don't seem clean. This pho isn't something to die for but its fine. I also come here because it's the only pho place that I find which has veggie pho with veggie broth and which accepts credit cards. Do I recommend this place? Yes

What a wonderful surprise! After a long morning at work, JP and I were delighted to find Viet Pho bc we LOVE pho!! But upon browsing the menu, we both instantly decided to get bun bo hue - a spontaneous change-up from our usual pho go-to but totally worth it. Their rich and hearty spicy lemongrass broth is one of my new favorites. You can get it with your choice of meat or veggies. We both had it with shrimp and it was perfect. Unlike the usual accompaniments that come with pho, the bun bo hue comes with cabbage and mint with sprouts... oh, and the little brown rings are banana blossoms (which have no flavor but are fun none-the-less)! We were thoroughly enjoying it as it was, then the server realized we were missing something. He brought us chili oil and what we think is shrimp paste. It is amazing how much depth and body they added to the dish and really elevated all the flavors. As much as I love pho, Viet Pho's bun bo hue has brought something new to my life that I didn't know I was missing.
I have been going here ever since it opened up. There food was amazing! very fresh! and very plentiful! but it seems latley they really have been skimping out on the food, the food IS not the same! i ordered the chicken pho, and the meat was very chewy (in a bad way) seems like it was mircowaved, in fact i can almost guarentee it was microwaved! it was lacking so much flavor. I prob been there about 15 times so far, everytime i go it seems like the prices go higher! It seems like they are cutting corners, to save money! word of advice STOP!

I have been here three times. This restaurant has a very diversified menu with many types of Vnmese foods, with more than 50 choices almost like an authentic Vnmese restaurant in Viet Nam, I like their baby clam rice casserole a lot. very tasty and flavorful! Pho, Bun bo Hue, seafood fried noodle were great too. The quality is pretty consistent. Clean, well decorated restaurant and friendly staff. Haven't found anywhere in the area better than this place for Vnmese food. Love.

Bun Bo Hue was on my agenda when I stopped by Viet Pho and Grill. It was a convenient stop near our hotel, and we we happy to get out of the heat. The meal was filling and satisfying. The Bun Bo Hue had plenty of meat, a nice lemongrass flavor, and was both spicy and sweet. The server asked if I'd like pig blood included, as this is a traditional ingredient, though not always included outside Vietnam. I accepted, and it was a nice addition, with cubes of the congealed blood in the broth. The service was very friendly, even though it was quite busy. They make good coffee too!

I'm no Pho or Vietnamese expert. I have been here twice and got the spicy lemongrass soup (C14 maybe). Once with chicken and the other with beef. Wasn't too fond of the need as it had a lot of fat. The chicken was nice as they use white chicken. Very friendly staff and ample parking.

Not the best vietnamese I had. I did take out and they got my order wrong. None the less I was going to give it a try. Next time I'll be sure to dine in . I read good reviews but didn't see it the same as everyone else . But I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say I'll dine the second time around .

I'm very confused about the reference to this place as a "fancy club/bar." They do serve alcohol, but that's probably as club-like as it gets. To me, it seemed like a typical restaurant-in-a-shopping center--nothing too fancy but also well-kept and clean. We hadn't heard rave reviews of their pho from coworkers (we work across the street), but what we did have was really good. 3.5 stars if I could give it. Basically their version of a bibimbap, it's a fried rice bowl with veggies and meat. The rice is delicious, with the rice from the bottom of the cast-iron skilled having that chewy crispiness that it needs. Ask for an egg to put on top, and I'm in rainy-day heaven. It's plenty big for two meals. The spring rolls with shrimp were also pretty tasty, though a little shrimpy on the shrimp (heh) for my taste. Peanut sauce was definitely good, though. The service was prompt and helpful. The price was reasonable. And when the Indian place has a line two miles long or I have a hankering for that delicious rice bowl again, I'll definitely be back.

The soup is fine but I have had some pretty terrible customer service. I like a lot, and I mean a lot, of hoisin sauce. They guy comes up to me and rudely says, "You know they sell that at the store, right?" So I say, "I do! I have some in my fridge right now, but I'm sorry I didn't bring my own." I thought about it for a while that maybe he just saw how much I liked it, but I was sitting close to the bar and got to overhear how this guy was talking about customers who were in the restaurant right then. I was pretty disgusted, but I have never had good service there. They try to present themselves as a nicer pho restaurant, but the soup is just okay. It'll do. I like that they have a vegetable option with tofu. I had their Pad THai today and it was terrible, but that's my own fault because this isn't a Thai restaurant. I just wanted something other than soup (this is close to my work). They just need better customer service. I never know who my waiter is, I always have to ask for a drink refill, and I don't think I have ever been checked on.

The ambiance here was better than at most other Viet restaurants I've been to in the CP area, but sadly I could not say the same for the pho. I was diggin the big soup spoon for my soup until I looked closely and there was red grease on it. Since I'm all about giving the benefit of the doubt, I was like oh maybe it's for some extra flava. Upon first sip of the soup, it tasted pretty good. A bit on the lighter side, but flavorful. As I kept eating it, I noticed the sweetness of the soup. Kind of different, but not too bad. And then....the aftertaste. It was like the more I ate, the worse the aftertaste was. It tasted kinda like they had put a shit ton of aspartame in the soup or something - yeah, that kind of aftertaste. Now I know I've been eating like a crazy carnivore lately, but I confirmed with my coworkers that there was like no meat in our pho. I usually can't even finish the noodles in my soup at pho restaurants because there is so much meat, but my coworkers and I found ourselves downing our bowls (the usual size I get) and still feeling very hungry from the lack of meat. This place does get some extra points for the freshness of the basil though...the basil leaves were beautifully green, clean and fresh. Why isn't this more common at other pho restaurants?

Highly recommend the lemongrass soup! I ordered shrimp and tofu although I suspect the soup was meat-based. It came with a dish of fish sauce with garlic spicy sauce. I think it was ~$10. Super rich, spicy, and addicting. The noodles are slightly thicker than the vermicelli noodles that come with pho. The soup was thick with ingredients and was so delicious on a cold, rainy day! The staff members are friendly. The environment was very nice and family-style--I don't know about how club- or bar-style this place is. Great place to catch up with old friends, though. For pho, they offer 3 different sizes and vegetarian pho as well! Yay! Min $10 for credit. Parking private lot out front (easy).

I love this place! I'm Vietnamese and I have to say that this restaurant has some of the best Vietnamese food in the DC area! I come here at least once a month and all of the dishes I've tried have been amazing. The service is great too - the waitstaff is really nice and attentive! I recommend the beef pho, bun bo hue, spring rolls, shaky beef, and pretty much everything on their menu.

I've been coming here for years to dine-in, but mostly takeout, and I can confidently say that this is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the Maryland and DC area (the verdict is still out on VA). I've been ordering pretty much the same items for about 3 years: shrimp summer rolls, tofu summer rolls, Canh Chua Ca (sour soup with catfish or shrimp), Bun Tom Nuong (grilled shrimp on vermicelli), and the Sweet Basil Stir Fry with tofu. I've stuck to these because they're so flavorful, fresh, and delicious and satisfy my pescatarian diet. They definitely do not skimp on the quality of the ingredients. I've been to many other restaurants that fail to season the grilled shrimp properly and omit the fried shallots which takes dishes from great to awesome. Admittedly, I've had a few strange "surprises" when ordering the less popular item (i.e. tofu that I thought would come with vegetables, but instead was plated with extraordinarily soggy lettuce - bitter and just wrong). The service is also pretty good - they are usually friendly and polite, and the restaurant is always clean. Love coming here, and will continue to do so!

Ordered lemongrass chicken and brought out what looked like curry. They took it back and brought out something similar looking but said it was lemongrass. It tasted like curry chicken with a little lemongrass mixed in and a bunch of hot pepper on top. Not good. My friend ordered sweet basil chicken and it was very good. That is why 2 stars or would have been one star for getting order wrong and doctoring it up. Also it took a loooooong time to get food.

My to-go order. I called about 30 - 40 minutes ahead of time. I specifically asked to have it ready for pick up at 12:50 pm. I ended up waiting for my food upon my arrival. I give 4 stars for the food. I ordered F1 -Grilled pork over vermicelli noodles and the C13 - Lemongrass noodle soup. Both are very delicious and authentic Vietnamese food. I give 1 star for my over all experience. My noodle soup was less than lukewarm. I had to microwaved my soup. The tendons are not welled cooked and they are tougher than rubber. Halfway through my soup, I found a hair. I hope to have a better experience if I ever give this place a try again.

Friendly, courteous and fast service. Picked up carryout tonight as my wife came down with a cold and pho is our go-to remedy. The broth was as good as we've had at any other noodle house and the crispy fried spring rolls were just as excellent as those that we have in the homes of our Vietnamese friends. We'll be back!

My go to place for Vietnamese food. Service is nice and so is the food. I think this place is one of the best Vietnamese restaurant to go eat around the College Park area. Their Pho is always flavorful and no MSG or over flavored with salt. Their appetizer is also good as well ESPECIALLY the beef wrapped in grape leaves! Overall, good food and service!!

Food was ok. and services weren't that good. I ordered combination pho to go and a girl who did my transactions were not very friendly. Didn't even say a word to me other than the price.... Also the bubble tea was too thick and too sweet for my taste. Lastly... she forgot to give me my credit card back, so I had to go back 15 minutes after driving away from the restaurant. Hopefully it doesn't happen next time.

I gave this place several tries since it opened. The last time I went back here was maybe couple of years ago. Have they changed owners or have the food gotten better? I don't know. But from the experience I remember was that the food wasn't too good. Don't remember it was being too bad neither. What I remember is that the price was too high. But then again, there's really no authentic Vietnamese restaurant around here neither. Unless u want to travel to Wheaton to Mi La Cay - there the food is great and the price is cheap! Definitely a good combination for one to enjoy their meal! What I also remember is that the guy who works there who takes order over the phone sounds pretty rude, no manners, and cocky - probably the owner, maybe? From what I recall, I heard that they came from California and opening up more businesses over here. Well, I'd tell you this, being cocky and an a-hole will not make your business any better. I think they mark the price up so damn high because there's not a lot of Vietnamese restaurants again. Well, I'm Vietnamese myself, I just don't like paying more than I usually does for the food that's not even better what I like. But just to be fair, I guess it's still relatively cheap comparing to Italian/American restaurants around. I would come back and give it another try if the cockiness from the guy is no longer there and if the price were to be lowered. Anyways, from all the experience I've had with this place, I haven't been back since. So the 3 stars is for being one of the first Vietnamese restaurant around here.

My previous review has been upgraded without coercion. It is our favorite neighborhood restaurant. Met the owner and he is as cool as cool can get. The staff is attentive, helpful, and accommodating. Menu selections are well defined and you won't waste time making a selection. Still, not to worry. Everything you choose will be delicious. Be daring, and get out of your comfort zone. I'm glad I did.

This place is a winner. The soup is so flavorful. The meats are delicious. My favorite is the bo vein (meatballs) with extra tripe. They have three size bowls which is great for days you feel like getting a rice dish with a tiny bowl (appetizer size) on the side. I love both their fried spring rolls and their summer rolls. Everything is fresh. Prices are good. Service is good. There is plenty of parking. I've had too many incidents of bland pho' in my life - so it's great when you finally find one so satisfying and just right!

Me and my girlfriend stumbled upon this little Pho place on our day out thrifting. We frequent Pho spots in and around the DC metro area and this one takes the cake of being one of the best we've had. I had the Pho GÃ which was a delight. My lady (the vegetarian) had the Pho with tofu and had a choose of veggie or beef broth. The best thing about the Pho is the fact that you receive an ample amount of noodles and you have a choose of either small, medium, or large bowls. Overall this is a good choice if you want some tasty Pho without breaking the bank!

if I lived closer to Viet Pho & Grill (VPG), I might consider adding it to my rotation - sometimes one craves pho or bun, and doesn't feel like making the trek to Wheaton or to NOVA for the real deal. But, truth be told, VPG is still too far from me, and too unexciting, to warrant a trip to Silver Spring. Last night, I sampled the bun with grilled chicken and spring rolls -- this was one of the stranger buns I've had. The ratio of vermicelli to lettuce was way off (this ended up tasting more like a salad than a vermicelli dish), and other key ingredients-- bean sprouts, cucumber, carrots - barely made a cameo. Most disappointing were the spring rolls which tasted like they had been cooked in overused oil - they just tasted stale and old. And equally odd was the nuac cham -- this was the only time I've ever had flavorless nuac cham! It was so flat that I had to ask for another bowl of it, and even then the vermicelli was still fairly bland. I was impressed that the VPG owners managed to transform a strip mall store front into a fairly nice dining room - there are (albeit odd) colorful paintings, mosaic tiled walls, and comfortable booths that lend some privacy to conversations. And there's a full bar (though no one was sitting there). This should allow you to forgive the horrible florescent lighting which can make dining feel like a Law and Order interrogation scene. There is little to complain about at this price point - the bun is $9. But if I were to eat less-than-exciting Vietnamese food, I'd probably stay closer to home and return to Sprig & Sprout.

Place was good, clean and new concept. Fancy/club bar style Pho joint. Can be mistaken for a Thai restaurant concept ( you know with a full bar). They also have grilled foods/Vietnamese style curry and other Saigon local style dishes. I guess if you have not been to authentic Pho- hole in a wall- dirty but good (?) places then this place is good as starters. Soup was good, healthy and flavorful not overpowering taste.Tho Pho soups are normally swimming in pork/beef fat and parts this soup is flavorful yet not fatty (fatty is what people mostly like and look for). Curry in Saigon is on the sweet side..and they have it just right. Staff spoke English well, clean, well-mannered, dressed proper and polite. If you want to venture to the exotic food of Vietnam (PHO) then this place is the best to try it out. They also have other choices in the menu with rice. About their CURRY...Vietnam and Thailand are neighboring countries and share similar food influences (just a twisted version).. Most Asian countries have their own CURRY version. From Malaysia ,Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, India, Thailand and Cambodia. So don't get discourage trying them to see for yourself.

A little more than you standard Pho restaurant. The lemongrass soup is outstanding and they have a huge menu. Do arrive early every time you visit as you need time to look over a widely varied menu. Singapore noodles are good and every grilled dish and the appetizer we have tried was also good. Try the sweet basil stir frys or the rice grilled dishes for something a little different.

This was my second time eating pho, and both times I've been pleased. The first time I ate it at an eccentric diner in California, so I figured this was a tad more authentic. The restaurant was nicely decorated and the wait staff friendly. We ordered two C4 Pho(s) with Rib Eye, the Grilled Chicken appetizer, and Cokes. The grilled chicken came out relatively fast, but was unimpressive. There was gristle, and it just seemed like a cheap dish that wasn't really given attention. But the pho was delicious! So savory and sweet and salty; and with the jalapenos and basil, spicy and fresh. This was an improvement from my first pho experience, and I can't wait to return.

The grilled chicken here is my new addiction. It's served with steamed rice, a small salad, and a deliciously sweet sauce. The chicken comes out in the form of a flavorful and tender kabob. After getting the meat off the skewer, I wrapped chunks of chicken, a bit of rice, and a drizzle of sauce in the lettuce that's part of the salad. It tasted A M A Z I N G. I didn't get the pho, but my pho addict sister swears that it is the best broth around. The icing on the cake? Extremely reasonable prices and super friendly service. As my sister and I walked out, four different people said goodbye. I'll definitely come here again, when I'm in the area!!

Fantastic! This is a great place. Atmosphere is very nice, clean (very important), and the staff is attentive and nice. We ordered so much food and all of it was great. We had the calamari which was perfectly cooked, and delicious. I am always so worried that calamari is so easily overcooked, this was not. It had a similar flavor to NY chinatown's salty pepper squid. We ordered fried shrimp appetizer, which was nice. We had grilled chicken salad and that chicken was so wonderfully seasoned it was amazing! Sweet basil mixed seafood was soooo good with that nice basil flavor and not too sweet, but sweet enough. Oh!! and the most wonderful dish is the shaken beef!!! oh yes!! this was a beef that is cooked in a wok but is not allowed to sit in the oil. they actually shake the wok constantly while it cooks so it doesn't get oily. It is amazing!! I found this to be one of those places that I will crave! The only negative (but I did not count it in the rating) is that the glass table top had a big chip in it that was covered with tape. Otherwise great place. Next trip I need to try there Pho so I can report back on that, but I had to start with the Vietnamese dishes. By the way I could see that the leaves and sides to the Pho around me looked very fresh and wonderful compared to other places I have been... So I am imagining it is great. Will let you know.

Went there this week for lunch with my hubby to try something different (Pho An at White Oak was getting boring). So glad we did. Service was 100% better, decor was nicer, and food was better. Got the crispy shrimp rolls (yum!) and Pho. Everything was good. Definitely going back. We live close enough that this might become our go-to Pho place!!

Love their pho! They have a huge menu and a huge bubble tea selection. The service is great, the restaurant has nice atmosphere and is very clean.

There is much better pho to be had in this area. The broth is weak and flavorless, though the steak was fine. Nice ambience, and good service- I was in a rush and they served me very quickly. But you can be served just as quickly at other restaurants that charge a dollar less and are tastier. I haven't had their other dishes, just the pho.

best veggie spring rolls i've had in a long time. really yummy. shrimp in shrimp vermicelli bowl were very good and flavored the whole bowl nicely. vegetarian pho is always...ok. better here than at the pho place next to the giant up the road.

My favorite pho in the DC area, hands down. I always get the crispy spring rolls (although the summer rolls are great too), pho w/ brisket, and a taro bubble tea smoothie. Everything is so good. I live within a 2 mile radius of about 5 different pho places and I'll drive the extra 10 min to come here.

We had a party of 30 reserved for a family gathering and found that this place accomodated us well, especially since half of the guests were children and teenagers. For service alone, I'd give this place 4.5 stars. Unfortunately, you can't eat service. Needless to say, we ordered pretty much everything on the menu but I'll start with the good parts: The decor was much nicer than other typical pho places. The staff was very friendly, and more importantly, spoke ENGLISH very well. The presentation of the spring rolls and plates were very good. We ordered the fried calamari which was good, not great. It wasnt crispy but had a good taste overall. The pho was ok, not great. It lacked the depth of flavor found in other more humble places such as Pho 77 or my favorite, Pho Nam. The rice dishes consisted of 2 skewers of meat (chicken, pork, or beef) with white rice and pickled veggies. Overall good, not great. It was not the same as the com tam found in other vietnamese restaurants. My biggest disappointment was the Bun Bo Hue or spicy beef soup. I should have followed my own view of not ordering this dish in places that don't specialize in it. The bowl was huge and full of meats and noodles and looked appetizing. Upon tasting the broth, I found that it was very very bland and lacked the slight sweetness and lemongrass that the traditional soup contains. I don't recommend this dish. Overall I like this place and would probably go back if I were in the area however I was not blown away by the food.

Best Pho I've ever had, easily. Great broth (both veggie and beef); the Vietnamese meatballs are thebomb.com . Quick service, good decor, and cheap. Pretty much everything you can desire in a restaurant.

This is hand's down some of the best Pho I've ever had. Do yourself a favor and try the Lemongrass Soup (Bun Bo Hue or number C13 on the menu)- it will rock your world. It's spicy and will clear your nose clean out, but has you gulping down that broth until you wonder where on earth the 40 ounces of soup you thought you could never finish went. The summer rolls are also amazing and very good for you- can't go wrong there! The first time we came to Viet Pho we had a restaurant.com gift certificate so we had to spend 35 dollars to use it. Don't try to spend 35 dollars there unless you come with a family of 6! After appetizers, entrees AND bubble tea we still had to order take out to get up to the 35 dollar mark. From now on, this is our go-to take out restaurant. My boyfriend and I find ourselves craving the lemongrass soup at least twice a month and it hardly puts a dent in our wallet to have not only dinner that night, but lunch and dinner for the next day as well! If you are considering eating here, no need to look any further. By far the best pho I've had in the tri-state area!

I would give this place 10 stars if I could. food is fantastic, service is fast, atmosphere is delightful, there is never a wait and I'm always surprised at how small our bill is.

**Correction**Just had a nice dinner here, small combination bowl, deep fried spring rolls, and ginger ale. The only issue I had was the fatty portions with my soup, but other than that the broth was tasteful, the rolls were nice and hot, and the restaurant hospitality was good. I see myself fancying this place again, also it's nice and cozy.

Awesome place! Appreciate the consideration of the packaging for carry out....especially the summer rolls....they tend to explode (break apart) if you don't immediately dive into them....I ordered the Viet Pho Special, which is all the meat, the meatballs (though I'm no fan of) was fantastic....the broth, very tasty, and again, appreciate the packaging.....FYI They are located BEHIND the CVS. I drove around the dern parking lot twice before I figured that out.....I'm such the winner.....even when it was close to 100 frickn' degrees (today) it was still crowded w/ ppl eating pho....see ya'll when I'm in the area!

We live in Los Angeles and my wife is Vietnamese, so we eat amazing Pho weekly. It was a pleasure and a treat to find Viet Pho & Grill near the DC area. The Pho had some depth (which they prepare for over 6 hours), the spring rolls were fantastic, and you must get a boba smoothie! The service was extremely friendly. To top it off, we had a lovely conversation with the owner who was very open, humble, and gracious. We wish them the best of luck!! We will definitely return in the future.

Best Pho restaurant. It's all about the both and their broth is amazing. Service is great. The other Asian items on the menu are really good as well. Bubble tea is also available.

Yum. Nice decor - much nicer inside than what I would expect from the outside. I love the summer rolls. They have vegetarian pho (with vegetarian broth). Delicious and a huge portion. The service has always been very good.

I went with the grill part of Viet Pho and Grill. The pork with vermicelli was alright. The pork was precooked and reheated and didn't really taste grilled. The grilled pork really should have been grilled on order. The veggies were fresh and the vermicelli was good though. I also ordered spring rolls and honey dew bubble tea. The spring rolls are alright and are kind of expensive for what they give you. The bubble tea was more of a smoothie and was really thick, artificial tasting, too sweet, and had too much condensed milk. The service is eggcellent here, but I wish they'd concentrate a little more on the food.

Excellent service and very good pho. The soup could have been hotter but we were a party of 8 people so understandable. Clean and friendly. Shrimp rolls rocked.

I have ordered cary out from them twice. Both times I have ordered the combination Pad Thai and the Summer rolls. Both are awesome. In the combination noddles there is chicken/shrimp/beef. The chicken they use is all white meat. The Summer rolls have shrimp, lettuce, mint, noodles. All the herbs and lettuce they use are fresh. They serve it w/ a side of peanut sauce. They always give more than is needed. So I usually feed it to my Dog, which he throughly enjoys. Love this place. I will keep on coming back

We wanted to try some vietnamese food without going to VA and this place sounded ideal. However, was disappointed that the food was pricey and the quality was poor. The fish caramel is way way too salty and lots of MSG, and the sour fish was also sub par. The spring rolls were burned which seemed like it was refried. Only 2 adults ate and there wasn't even enough pieces to go around. Spent $40 and then because it was so salty, we had to take the last bit of it home. However, they didn't pack it right and it spilled all over my pants and inside the car. It stunk like crazy and when I went back to tell the waiter (owner), he said that it was our fault that it spilled. No apologies whatsoever that they ruined the car seat and my pants. Instead, they said it was our fault that we poked the bag. How ridiculous, because they packed the heavy sauce type of food in a styrofoam type of container which usually you hold rice inside. The plastic bag they gave us, had a hole under and so it leaked all over the place. The people there are RUDE, no apologies, and didn't pay for my ruined pants. Will never return again. If you want good vietnamese food, go to Eden Center. Order the same food and you will get double the amount for less price and way more tasty. I really got a headache from the MSG so could not finish eating.

4.5 Very impressed-have to go back and try more dishes. We only had two dishes but they were staples (Pho and Bun) and they were both great. The Pho was lighter than normal but gave it a light clean taste that we both really liked. The Bun (vermicelli) was also very good. Often when you get pork at a Vietnamese place on Bun it is flattened and a bit dry (so you use the fish sauce to re-hydrate a bit) but the pork here was on a skewer and thinker than normal and thus very juicy. Both dishes had slight variations on the norm but in a good way. Also very attentive service. Highly recommend!

I had a Groupon/Living Social coupon for this place and decided to try it for lunch the other day. I was skeptical when I pulled into the parking lot, but when I walked inside, my doubts disappeared. It smelled good, it was clean and nicely decorated, and a bunch of tables were full. I ordered the pho with chicken and my friend got the pho with vegetables and tofu. Both were pretty good! I've had better chicken, but the broth had good flavor and the noodles weren't overcooked. The service was excellent and the menu is extensive. I'll be back!

Stumbled upon Viet Pho and Grill on a rainy Saturday afternoon. The prices are reasonably cheap and the food tasty. The springs rolls were freshly fried, crunch and accompanying dipping sauce had just the right balance of sweetness. I had C8- Well Done Brisket, Top Round and Soft Tendon. The broth was awesome! Try them out!

When they were having their grand opening, they were out of pho when I stopped by. Today I gave it a try. The broth was very beefy but completely lacked the expected perfumy aroma. The medium bowl was a bit smaller than competitors, but well packed with beef an noodles. I was on the fence between 2 and 3 stars, but the hot tea pushed me to meh. $1.25 for a pot of hot water and a tea bag - it wasn't even strong enough to taste by the time I was ready to leave.

4.5 stars but have to round up to balance out the two one star reviews. I had to go back to see the other reviews filed by the people who gave this place one star to find out how they rate other Viet style restaurants. Interesting. Was greeted and seated promptly. Ben asked me if I already had something in mind or if I wanted a walk through. I'm paraphrasing but I thought it was nice that he would take the time to help me out. I've had Pho lots of places lots of times but would always shrug and order by the number...know what I mean ie; number 5 might have beef, noodle whatever. Ben ask what I'm in the mood for. I tell him whatever the hottest thing on the menu was. He recommended Beef Lemongrass Soup...I think this is Bun Bo Hue. I absolutely loved it. To me all the Viet soups/pho's are dressed up Top Ramen but I really loved the spicy, sour, bold flavors. Better, since Ben could see that I can take it hot, he brought some Thai Chili pepper and this awesome garlicy hot sauce. Ordered the egg rolls that have meat in them. Not sure what the official name is but suffice it to say, I'm going back to this place if for no other reason than for that hot sauce and the egg rolls. My game plan is to try everything they have over time. People were ordering stuff that wasn't on the menu so I'm hoping to try my first Viet Sandwich from here at some point. The tables have Hoi Sin sauce and Red Rooster sauce so you can dress up your soup however you like. They really went out of the way to provide me with a nice lunch. It was very unusual to come across genuinely personable people. I really like that. Lucky me, my new work location is only a few miles away. Great prices too! Huge bowl of soup and 2 egg rolls $12.00. I'm going back tomorrow.

I just had food here. It is okay. Nothing stands out. The wrap on the summer roll was tough. Felt more like its been fridged. The soup taste plain. Worst of all, there is no customer service here. I am disappointed in the ratings that it was given by many other reviews. There is no hope in this restaurant if there is no customer service in this type of business.

Nothing beats a big bowl of Pho on a cold DMV day. At Viet Pho and Grill I was able to get a huge bowl of flavorful broth that was tasty BEFORE I added basil and hot sauce. The rare tai was a beautiful hue of red letting me know that this place uses fresh ingredients in their pho. A HUGE PLUS as I only eat rare steak pho. The service was prompt, polite and overall excellent!

The pad Thai here is very good - tangy, creamy and nutty all at the same time. The pho is decent, too. What stands out is the strange musical choices... We entered to the theme from the X Files, which is weird in itself, but then we were serenaded by the likes of Kenny G and Zamfir - Master of the Pan Flute. The strangeness added to our enjoyment as we giggled through our meals.

This place a nice little gem. I happened to be in the area and was looking for something tasty to warm me up this past Thursday. After a little search on Yelp, I gave this place a try. I ordered the Lemongrass Soup (C13) and my friend ordered one of the Pho soups. We also had the shrimp summer rolls. The rolls were pretty good - tightly rolled, with a nice mix of herbs and vegetables, along with the shrimp. They were also a really good value, in my opinion, $3.50 I believe, which is about half of what they would cost at places I go to in DC. The Lemongrass soup and the Pho (large), were HUGE! Neither one of us could finish and we were really hungry when we got there. But, I kept eating more than I was even hungry for because they were really good. The Lemongrass soup broth had a nice kick, and there was plenty of chicken, noodles, and veggies tucked into it. The best part was that for a fairly reasonable price, and despite the moderate decor, the service was very good. Efficient, but easy-going, and there were nice touches, such as lime slices in our water, that made the presentation of the food nicer that what I would have expected. I'll definitely try to return when I'm in the area again.

I went there recently to have lunch with a friend and the service + pho was absolutely horrible! First of all where is the full pho menu? There's only 4 pho options, one being "a create your own." So of course we chose that and told the waiter exactly what we wanted. But instead we get back a mixture of so many things we didn't ask for such as intestines. Even the soup itself wasn't that great. The service here is also just as bad as the food! The place had a ton of empty table but we still had to wait to be seated. The waiter didn't greet us or even smile at us. After I had complained about not getting what we had ordered, he simply walked away and didn't even think to apologize or ask if I wanted a new bowl of pho with the right order. I didn't want to create a scene for a $12 lunch and a place I wasn't planning on coming back to so all I did was leave him a bad tip. I just know I won't ever go back there again! The worst pho place around this area! Doubt with that service they'll be sticking around for long.

Great Vietnamese pho & grill restaurant! I came here a month ago when their menu was small and now, a month later, there is a whole new menu with more dishes. We ordered the calamari appetizer which was recommended by our friendly waiter. It is overall a very good dish; fried calamari with slices of onions, green onions, and ginger and a side of fish sauce. The only criticism I have about the calamari appetizer is it was a bit too salty. For my main entree, I ordered a nice bowl of the pho special. It was tasty and delicious. I was a little disappointed with the drink menu. I really love salted plum soda but it wasn't on the menu. The drinks consists mostly of bubble tea which is great but I would like to see more Vietnamese drinks on the menu. Overall, I recommend this place and will come back again!

The food here is consistently excellent. The menu is extremely comprehensive, offering nice-sized portions of various noodle dishes, tasty rolls of many types, and great soups, besides flavorful pho. During a typical weekday business lunch, the wait, even for a single serving of pho, can be a bit long (more than 10 minutes), because of customer volume. The service is expert and polite, and the decor is nice and premises clean. Why only three stars, then? The detraction is the lousy Vietnamese pop music they insist on pumping into the dining room on cheap ceiling speakers. It is inordinately loud and annoying with its persistent, unvarying synthetic drum beat covered with a wailing female voice that sounds like a wounded animal. The waiter is usually kind enough to reduce the volume a little, but in my experience, it soon gets turned-up again by another staffer, lest their patrons miss one second of the annoying cacophony. Who needs it? A restaurant is a nice place to go for relaxation, and the acoustic agitation from third-rate crap that some idiots consider music is annoying and greatly detracts from the experience. Aside from the annoying music, I would certainly give this place four stars, and on several isolated occasions, five stars. Take a clue from your typical American customer: I'd rather enjoy the great food and my company with NO pop music playing at obnoxiously-loud volume.

Yep, the Pho here is the best I've had - ever. I've been searching for a long time and this is it. The quality of the food is excellent; the cuts of meat, the vegetables and spices are very flavorful. I couldn't tell you about anything else on the menu except for the crispy spring rolls, which are excellent and the passion fruit bubble tea (awesome). The service isn't stellar, but the food makes up for it. Another thing I noticed was that this place just keeps getting better as time goes by. We went about a day or two after grand opening in July and it was pretty good. By now, after three or four visits they seem to have hit their stride. Definitely going to come back at least every other week. UPDATE July 2012: Still the best Pho place around the area, and the entrees are good, too we discovered.

Well, I'm astonished at the high ratings for this place. The summer rolls with shrimp were bland and the wrapper was tough. The Cha Gio with shrimp had some spice in it that smelled really bad inside my nasal cavity - my husband said "it smells like the monkey house" and he was absolutely right. I have no idea what we were eating. It was bad. I had the lemongrass soup with shrimp. It just wasn't anything special, and the only size if FORTY OUNCES. My husband had a hot pot with seafood - I guess he liked it all right. To me it tasted more like Thai than anything else. If I were to rate the Vietnamese restaurants in the Silver Spring area it would be Lotus Cafe, the place on the second floor above Austin Grill in downtown SS, the place in White Oak shopping center (great rolls, but the shrimp vermicelli should be made without pepper), and Viet Pho and Grill dead last. I would not go here again. I don't need to smell monkey house when I eat.

Pretty legit. The pho is good. The chicken curry although good, isn't how my mom makes it. It has basil in it and tastes thai to me. The fried spring rolls are good but small. The iced coffee is great.

I dined in during lunch time and ordered the "com dac biet" grilled dish, which I liked. I bought two pho's to-go and they packed the ingredients separately from the noodles/meat, which was nice. The amount of cilantro they gave was pathetic, and what they did give was definitely not fresh. There was a CRAZY amount of jalapenos! Enough to eat with +20 pho bowls! Most likely done to cover up the amount of cilantro they gave since all the veggies were packed in one bag. I've never ordered the pho while dining in before, so I do not know if there is a difference between the freshness of the veggies of diners and take-out. The broth was not that flavorsome either, definitely missing the star anise aroma. I've definitely had better phos.

Solid pho. I am not from the area and found the place ramdonly, so I am not sure how it compares to other options in the area. However, it is very good pho (we had noodles and vermicelly dishes) and worth a trip. However, their avocado bubble tea sucks! it taste too much like creamer.

This place is a hidden gem. It is located at the Safeway shopping center in hillandale. I would always drive past and never go in because I was expecting it to be mediocore..boy was I so wrong. It's a modern little sit down restaurant with friendly staff and good food. So happy this place is less than five mins from my home .

I want summer rolls and rice vermicelli with lemongrass pork. This place has both and does them well. They also sell the cheapest sandwiches you can get anywhere. I've been here many times and will continue to go back. A convenient place to sit and relax at lunch on a weekend.

I was pretty excited to see a new pho place by home but I was kind of disappointed by their pho. I liked that the broth was darker (I love dark pho broth, it just tells you it's been marinated well) but the taste was a bit strange. I've been back a couple times whenever I'm back at my parents' but only to get the Bo Luc Lac (shaky beef). Service is good and the place is very clean. Just don't get the pho!

I went here the first day the place opened. The menu was scattered and they said they haven't finalized it yet. I ordered Bun Bo Hue and it was the WORST BBH i ever had... Who in the world put pig's heart and lungs, etc. (Chao long items) in BBH? The broth was unmentionable. My fiance ordered Pho (of course someone had to be brave enough to try pho, since it's their main dish there). That was also a disappointment. Someone else oredered Pad Thai and that was decent. Another person ordered Chicken with lemon grass, that was okay. The service was not great, perhaps it was their first day and they were nervous, we kept having to ask for things. I decided to give this place a 2nd chance and SADLY, it did not win my approval. Went there for lunch on a saturday at around 12 something and the place was not busy at all. The waiter brought out 2 menus and just stood at our booth waiting. Kept asking if I wanted drinks or appetizers before I even got a chance to look at the menu. I asked for a minute and he stepped back just right behind my back and kept asking if I wanted bubble tea, etc. I said in Vietnamese to him, give me a second, he then said, oh you're vietnamese, don't look anything like Vietnamese. the table next to my table, perhaps they were friends are regular there, but basically I got to hear all of their personal stories, from the waiter asking the people at that table about getting a divorce, the costs, his wife wants to leave him, etc. Basically everything that I don't need to hear, I HEARD. The staff was clearly not professional. This is a business, not your home where you mingle with your friends and talk junk. Please respect fellow diners. I ordered shaking beef and the other person ordered Pho. Both were a FAIL. My mouth felt like I did some serious activities after eating the beef. I really had high hopes that this place would provide the craving relief since it being so close to where I live but it was just a big disappointment.

I cautiously went there for Valentine's Day, expecting bad service and average food. I was wrong! The Pho was great, the broth was very full of flavor and need nothing added. It was so good that it reminded me of my trip to Vietnam...a decade ago. The grilled chicken appetizer was also very good and quickly devoured by my 5 year old. The veg summer rolls were excellent, crispy and light and they had a variety of vegetables. The main dishes one vegetarian and one pad thai were also good. The pad thai needed a little salt for my taste, but otherwise it was good. Will definitely go back again and again for the PHO! The place has a calm soothing atmosphere, complete with paintings from Vietnam. The service could have been better, but that it not going to stop me from going back.

The first thing I noticed was a very large yellow blimp floating above actually it looked like a zeppelin. However, it was actually the announcement of the grand opening of this brand new Pho spot here in the White Oak/ Hillandale area. I thought to my self that it was probably just going to be your typical dirty dingy little fast Pho place were when you walk in they say sit down and before you have a seat the food is already on the table along with the bill and they watch over you trying to get you out quickly even pulling the chair out from under you. But alas I was very wrong this is NOT that type of place. The first thing that you will notice is a very nice frosted glass piece at the entrance and that opens to a beautiful dinning area with nice colours and emperors slate as part of the flooring. Everything is brand spanking new and looks oh so fanciful like a much higher end restaurant very modern contemporary clean design. A lot of work went into making this look nice no wonder why it took so long for them to open their doors. The staff is very polite smiling and really nice and friendly. I'm impressed with this little space you order at the table or for carry out you go to the register area that of which doubles as the bar yes they do carry some beer and wine very nich. Appetizers consist of Summer Roll, Spring Roll and Grilled Pork Roll. Side items are skewers of shrimp pork or beef plus a few other items. They have beef meatballs, beef strips, brisket and chicken Pho which you can have either white, dark or mixed meat. I had the "Tai-Beef" stripes of beef served with lime basil jalapeno and bean sprout. The broth was a nice very light brownish almost clear in colour not too too salty and not too oily, when mixed up together everything went down just the way I like it "nice and easy". By the way I had this order to go but a quick order took a little longer than expected more about that later. Now lets say okay Pho is the best thing for colder temperatures but it's really hot outside..... well no worries they carry other items that you can devour such as choices from their grill like grilled sesame beef or lemon grass pork. they even have Pad Thai and vegetarian dishes as well as other Vietnamese specials. Drinks include the usual coconut juice, soy milk, hot or iced coffee with sweetened condense milk etc. I didn't get a chance to try the coffee though because that is the ultimate test of any Pho place that is to have rightous Ca Phe Da. So as I had said earlier that this place is brand spanking new (opening day was Mothers day) and at times it shows. I had to wait a loooooong time to get my order of Pho to go they offer me something to drink while I waited but I politely declined. Turns out it was just sitting at the counter there while the person at the register was adding up tickets. She did not know cause nobody alerted her to a ready order. She smile and apologize then ring me up quickly. Another person there for take away also had a long time to wait "another 10 minutes please you wait more" some one who came out the back told her. Eventually they got the ball rolling, they have enough staff it seems for now but then again they are probably family members there to help out the first week to get everything in order. When I arrived they were quite busy a good amount of the tables were spoken for and the carry out was moving. A couple of mix up orders that were quickly corrected and just a few little bumps in the road is all that I witness while there. But it is expected being their first few days of opening and I always cut a lot of slack for that I'm sure they will get it running smooth as a well oiled machine in the next few days. So this is a good thing so far and I look forward to a nice sit down here with wife and see how the full service side of this restaurant operates. So far the Pho is good and the prices just can't be beat. Very inexpensive yet so classy I think a charming little spot like this could give the aged out dusty old Hillandale shopping center a big boost. I wish them well in this new venture and I look forward very much to my return visit to sample the rest of the menu.

Awesome new Pho competitor to the area. The broth is quite flavorful and has a nice "heat" to it even without additional Sriracha hot sauce. The basil, jalepenos and bean sprouts were fresh and tasty. Also had the summer rolls, which were excellent and refreshing. They serve bubble tea as well, which is an added bonus. The atmosphere is very pleasant and much better decorated and cleaner than most other Pho places I've been to. Overall great place --- highly recommend.

My husband had a cold and wanted some spicy soup to help clear out his sinuses ... so Viet Pho and Grill it was! The atmosphere is great! The owner clearly took a lot of time to get the design just right. I felt like I was stepping into a fancy, expensive restaurant. However, prices are really reasonable. I couldn't resist getting the pho, either, and I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of basil, bean sprouts, and jalapenos were offered to go with it. The soup was great on its own, but of course the sides were so fresh and delicious that I had to add plenty of them. In short, we'll definitely be back when we want a less expensive but still tasty night out. (or if one of us gets a cold again!)

first time...had the combination pad thai. Not amazing but still a good choice. Second time...had the pho beef and summer rolls. Definitely not a fan of the flavor of the broth. The broth was very hot, the noodles were plentiful and cooked just right. There was a good amount of the vegetables. A little sparing on the beef but still enough. The summer rolls were very good and i would suggest those any time. The restaurant is very well put together and the staff is very nice! I will go back to my regular pho place down the street but i will give their other entrees a chance!

Vegetarian friendly and excellent! Love the hot pot dishes, great service and atmosphere. Much better than the bland food of Pho Hiep Hoa in Silver Spring. Tip? Lower the lunch price a tad. Great atmosphere. Go next door to Salon Efx and get your hair cut and styled by a master-Thomas, the owner of both the restaurant and the salon.

Another great meal at the Viet Pho and Grill. This time we had the flank pho and the shrimp and vegetables with noodles. All were large portions, very fresh and tasty. Also had the crispy calamari which was also a generous portion and a different presentation from fried calamari. Last week my colleague had the vegetarian dish which she enjoyed and I had the pork with noodles - both were great. They now have a beer and wine license and the wine choices are good. The staff is very accommodating and pleasant and we are glad to have this restaurant in our neighborhood.

Inexpensive, awesome food (that is healthy!), fabulous service, open 'til 10pm 6 days/week, and clean! The best all round restaurant that I have found since moving to the area in 2008 and the first that has so impressed me as to join Yelp in order to write this review. I live less than a mile away and since our first visit, my husband and I have been hard-pressed to find an equivalent option for healthy and delicious food! In fact, we have eaten there almost daily... a statement that would be shameful if not for the overriding sensationalism of this particular outfit (and the crazy heat we've had recently)! Food: Exceptional! Fresh, healthy, and delicious! I have yet to try their Pho, but the summer rolls are classic and the grill stars fresh herbs and veggies with choice of meat/fish/shrimp seasoned and cooked to perfection (w/o being overbearing, greasy, or dry) with a choice of rice or noodles (rice or egg). The menu is simple, but they are flexible. The "smoothies" with tapioca balls (Bo-boa Tea?) that I have tried are amazing! Cappuccino and vanilla... so good! **Word to those with Peanut allergies, they put peanuts on a lot of their dishes w/o any indication in the menu's description, so make sure to ask before you order! Outstanding service! Polite, friendly, and attentive. They will gladly help you decide on what to try with their suggestions and/or descriptions of the dishes you are curious about. Your plate/bowl is not likely to stick around long after you have finished and you will be in the minority if you are able to find your water glass empty! After an evening of being so promptly waited on, it can seem that the check is taking too long, but in reality it is not long at all and it's nice to know you're not being rushed out the door! Atmosphere: Clean and cozy, not so noisy. As has been stated, everything is brand new and they keep the place as close to spotless as they can! The bathroom door tends to need a little shouldering due to the new paint, but it is also kept very clean! The color palate is well thought out and the accessories and paintings are very nice. I did not feel it was overly noisy, but if you are there during their busy hours there is a background cheerful chattering. Hope this has been helpful! If you're smart.. you'll be leaving for some awesome Vietnamese food in a matter of seconds!

This restaurant opened just a few months ago and we have already dined there several times. The atmosphere is pleasant with it's sylish casual decor, and the food was good from the outset. However, it seems that there has already been an improvement in the menu after replacing the original chef with a new one and the introduction of a more varied menu that inludes authentic Vietnamese dishes beyond pho, as well as other Asian specials. We particularly like the clay-dish ricce and meet servings. Hillandale now has some good dining options!

(4)Prerna M.

This is the only restaurant that doest have any cola products !!!! Large bowl of pho was skimpy on top of the extra meat that was ordered, waiter looked like he was extremely busy doing who knows what, I was the only customer,

My favorite Pho place, the broth is the best in the area, I highly recommend going!!!
(5)Jung-Ah P.

(5)Yessi M.
My favorite pho place! Great service and friendly staff :) This pho is soul soothing and a remedy for a bad day. Their crispy springs rolls are an essential to the pho too. I love this place!
(5)Jane D.
I always come to this pho restaurant because the other ones in Langley park are really disgusting or just don't seem clean. This pho isn't something to die for but its fine. I also come here because it's the only pho place that I find which has veggie pho with veggie broth and which accepts credit cards. Do I recommend this place? Yes
(3)Nari P.

Best Pho ever!

(3)Ho A.
Love.
(4)Tamara M.
(3)Sam S.
(5)Food Blogger B.
Everything I had here today was great. They even give you 3 sizes to choose from when ordering Pho. I finished of my meal with a hot vietnamese coffee. Service was friendly and top notch. Must visit if in the area.
(5)Thuy N.
Not the best vietnamese I had. I did take out and they got my order wrong. None the less I was going to give it a try. Next time I'll be sure to dine in . I read good reviews but didn't see it the same as everyone else . But I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say I'll dine the second time around .
(2)Kristy W.
(3)D K.
Great pho. Nothing special, but it hits the spot the right way. Not too cheap not to pricey. Come here whenever you need a quick fix
(4)Annette L.
(2)Sharon X C.
(2)Angela P.
(4)Phuong H.
(5)Iman M.
(4)Karen P.
(2)Ngan T.
(2)Gina W.
I lived in Asia for ten years and visited Vietnam many times. This is the best Vietnamese restaurant I have found in the DC/MD area so far. Great service. Good value. Very clean and well lit.
(4)Ray R.
(4)Allen R.
Solid spot for Pho. Love that the broth is balanced and doesn't taste like one note star anise. Bubble Tea is tasty also.
(4)Kim T.
(5)Jina P.
(2)Skizzo I.

Great pho spot. Good quality. Staff is very polite and professional. Great prices. They also have other delicious dishes like rolls, orange chicken and pad Thai, and they all taste great. I come here at least once a week.

There are only 2 pho places in MD that I like and this is one of them. great customer services and amazing pho at a reasonable price!! recommend to everyone
(5)Michel R.
My moms favorite place! I had to give it five stars, because we have the best dates here. Best pho I've had on this side of town too. Oh, and the rice hot pot? Amazing!
(5)Sharad S.
When it comes to pho the options are widely available, I highly recommend this place, top 10 pho in md in my opinion
(5)Deanna B.
Great traditional, hole in the wall place. Delicious food, good portions, and very reasonable prices. The service was fast and friendly. Not the fanciest place, but good for a cheap date or casual lunch. Would definitely go again.
(5)R S.

Everything I get here is fresh and delicious. The service is friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is clean and stylish. Great boba tea and summer rolls for a quick snack.
(5)Rick S.
(4)Timothy C.
(3)Nihan K.
(5)AK K.
Not the greatest but for the location & price.. it was very good. Not in best location & hard to find if u r going for the first time.
(4)Tom D.
(5)J E.
(4)Kate F.
Love their pho! They have a huge menu and a huge bubble tea selection. The service is great, the restaurant has nice atmosphere and is very clean.
(5)Madeline C.
(3)Lauren K.
best veggie spring rolls i've had in a long time. really yummy. shrimp in shrimp vermicelli bowl were very good and flavored the whole bowl nicely. vegetarian pho is always...ok. better here than at the pho place next to the giant up the road.
(3)Jennifer B.
(5)John H.
(3)Mac B.
Best Pho I've ever had, easily. Great broth (both veggie and beef); the Vietnamese meatballs are thebomb.com . Quick service, good decor, and cheap. Pretty much everything you can desire in a restaurant.
(4)Lara S.
(5)Kyle G.
I would give this place 10 stars if I could. food is fantastic, service is fast, atmosphere is delightful, there is never a wait and I'm always surprised at how small our bill is.
(5)Kay D.
(4)Avocado N.
(4)Brian S.
(4)Parvez A.
Best Pho restaurant. It's all about the both and their broth is amazing. Service is great. The other Asian items on the menu are really good as well. Bubble tea is also available.
(5)Jessie K.
Yum. Nice decor - much nicer inside than what I would expect from the outside. I love the summer rolls. They have vegetarian pho (with vegetarian broth). Delicious and a huge portion. The service has always been very good.
(4)Joe G.
(3)Faisal M.
Excellent service and very good pho. The soup could have been hotter but we were a party of 8 people so understandable. Clean and friendly. Shrimp rolls rocked.
(4)Ashleigh D.

(4)Jerry S.
(2)Michael B.

(1)Risa B.
(5)Paul T.

(4)Sara R.
(1)Janine G.
best pho i've ever had! prices are outstanding, service was great. i only had a veggie pho, but it was delicious, everything was very fresh. i will be back! love the environment too, decent location. it's in the shopping center next door to a nail salon and hair salon.

(4)Travis K.
(3)Kyle U.

(1)Tri N.
Pretty legit. The pho is good. The chicken curry although good, isn't how my mom makes it. It has basil in it and tastes thai to me. The fried spring rolls are good but small. The iced coffee is great.
(4)A S.
(3)Andy M.
Solid pho. I am not from the area and found the place ramdonly, so I am not sure how it compares to other options in the area. However, it is very good pho (we had noodles and vermicelly dishes) and worth a trip. However, their avocado bubble tea sucks! it taste too much like creamer.
(4)Priya M.
(5)Sandy B.
I want summer rolls and rice vermicelli with lemongrass pork. This place has both and does them well. They also sell the cheapest sandwiches you can get anywhere. I've been here many times and will continue to go back. A convenient place to sit and relax at lunch on a weekend.
(4)Dave B.
Visit this place last week .its was a awesome experince .they have great pho and great smootie taro with booble.what even make this resturant outstanding is the costumer service my waiter was a spanish looking guy.i belive his name is dan or danny.he statisfy my family and me with a great costumer service. thank you viet pho and grill for great food and great costumer serive (dan/danny).
(5)Kate M.
Great pho in an odd location.
(5)Annie N.
My favorites are the clear noodle soup and crispy fried noodles. Their pho is getting a lot better with time I must say. fried egg roll and quails are good for app. Great customer services and they also have bubble tea but I usually stick to young coconut or coffee.
(5)Trang N.

Have gone for lunch twice. Both times have been fantastic. The service if friendly but they bring out the plates at very different times so it's a little awkward.

Food here is just average at best.
