Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

We have been eating Eastern Carryout since 2008. It has often changed owners, which unfortunately has affected the quality of the food. The portions are quite large and allow for leftovers. The good news is the food for 2015 so far has been consistently good and high quality. They deliver as well.

I used to eat in this restaurant on occasion because I work in the area. I stopped eating the Chinese food there after learning that someone found a mouse fetus mixed in with the beef and rice. Yes, you read it correctly...a MOUSE FETUS!!! Plus, has anyone ever noticed that whether you order anything with beef, pork, or chicken that all three, very different, types of meat have that same rubbery consistency? This is not a theory. Find out what they're feeding you. Anyway, I figured that I couldn't go wrong by ordering an American sub. WRONG!! When I arrived back to work and began to eat my coldcut sub, I noticed a strange consistency with the ham. It was really tough to chew. I assumed they had just given me some old ham, so I just removed it. Later on I had told someone about my experience with the meat from my sub. They told me that a few of the Chinese restaurants were turning the ham into a paste, adding in finely chopped cardboard and paper bags, recooking it all together and, then cutting it into fine slices. When I thought back...that is EXACTLY the same consistency of that ham. Now, I refuse to eat there anymore. And if you know what I know, you would do yourself good by staying as far away from ANY Chinese restaurants.

If you're like most people you get into the habit of having crappy food just because. Eastern Carryout is like dating a crappy person just because. Their delivery guy is very likeable and yet their food isn't. On one occasion the delivery guy apologized about the VERY RUDE person who took our order and explained he was the owner. What he didn't explain is why anyone even bothers with the place. Could it be because there are some sad folks who want comfort through bad steak and cheese's once in a while? Or because you might get a free calendar with your order around Christmas time ? Or perhaps the reality that Chinese food usually sucks anyway has helped postpone the inevitable? Like a toxic relationship that doesn't need to go any further because IT'LL NEVER WORK, Eastern Carryout's poor quality needs to not happen anymore.

This place serves some of the best Chinese food in the area. I've eaten at several different restaurants over the last few years, and it's hard to top. Standard food such as General Tso's Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Orange Chicken; also delicious chicken wings and good sub sandwiches. The food is sweet and spicy (depending on dish), and always cooked fresh. Nice example of a small business making success. Customer service is polite, and the atmosphere is that of a very small local shop, but worth the stop.

Decent quality chinese food with really large portions. An excellent value!

Not particularly impressive from a culinary perspective but this place is cheap, has fairly quick service and a good lunch menu. It's a classic American-Chinese takeout joint. They have thick chow fun noodles--not a given in the DC area.
