First time dining here last night. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and beer selection but felt I needed to say something about a dish I ordered: the Buffalo Oyster appetizer - they were soggy! Sadly the worst oysters I've ever had, however, after reading over reviews of folks that ordered the same dish, I think this was an outlier case. More than the oysters being a soggy mess, the waiter brought me blue cheese on the side (as a dip); I think the intention is to have this already on the plate. On a better note, service was great and everyone else at the table seemed to be happy with their dishes. I hope Park Tavern reads this to help make their food more consistent. Severna Park needs you!

Had lunch there. Ordered the buffalo oysters and tavern burger. Food was very good. Also tried their own beer and order the blonde. It was bad. To hoppy for me. Overall not bad will go again.

Incredible beer selection and really good food. My wife and I went for dinner on a Friday night - the place was packed, but our service was still outstanding. Our server was attentive and informative about all the menu selections. We'll definitely be back!

Glad to see a casual restaurant with a really great atmosphere finally opened up in Severna Park. They must have spent a lot of money renovating the restaurant...felt like a restaurant in DC or NYC. Steak frites was great. Awesome beer selection. Would definitely go back again.

Good food and beer. Slightly overpriced, but understandable. Pretty good service.

Had dinner there last night. The food was excellent, I had the black and blue steak salad-fabulous. My husband had the burger also well done. Four stars not Five stars because:-My father in law had the mac n cheese with lobster added and he said the mac and cheese was good but there was barely any lobster at all so for $9 extra they need to change that. Also, the drinks are pretty small for an Orange crush it came in a 6 oz. glass but was still 8 bucks. Also-it is VERY loud in there, im young and it bothered me a little bit-they might need to do something with the acoustics so I don't recommend taking an older crowd here they might not like it at all for that reason. Overall the food was great-will definitely be back!

Yikes! This place may have fabulous modern decor and an intriguing menu and atmosphere, but the food is downright mediocre! I ordered the fish tacos and they were unbelieveably salty. Not to mention they were sauced with a chipotle remoulade, which did not compliment the tacos at all. They were also very very spicy. So hot that I couldn't taste the rest of the taco ingredients. The soft pretzel and beer cheese appetizer was pure salt. I had to scrape the 5 billion morsels of salt off. Overall, this place is just like Mothers down the road. Expensive with crappy bar food. Also our waitress was very odd and seemed out of it. Won't be returning here.

Came without a reservation on New Years Eve for dinner at 6:30. Seated promptly at a table for 2- not the best location (near the bathrooms) but the hostess said that they were booked heavily with reservations. I had the Blue Steak salad- it was one the best salads I have ever had. I would never have put kale, blue cheese, pecans, tomatoes and their house dressing together.... but it was delicous! Kind of pricey ($18) for a salad- but very good. My husband had the Park burger- good- but not as good as the salad! We both had draft beer and draft cider. Perfect dining experience. Waiter was efficient and knowledgeable- recommended but wasn't pushy.

Wow, I'm very surprised at the reviews. It appears to me that people, at least in a non-foody town, don't like to write bad reviews. To date, I have not run in to one person that really likes the place for one reason or another, usually the complaint is service or food. As many have already said we really wanted the place to be good. This is not rocket science, have your managers and staff read the book by Danny Meyer - setting the table. For the back of the house, hire someone that went to CIA. Good luck. Beers great.

Delicious food...the chicken avocado club was really good. They have about 30 beers on tap, with several from Oliver Brewing in Baltimore. The service can be a bit slow, even when they're only moderately busy. However the service is great when you get them. If it's an issue, sit at the bar.

Diverse, constantly rotating beer list? Check. Menu that has something for everyone, from healthy salads to delicious flatbreads and sandwiches? Check. Brunch with bottomless mimosas or bloodies? Check.

Very nice bar-grill in Severna Park, MD. Arrived and was promptly greeted and seated. Hostess asked if we wanted water and informed us who our waitress was. Waitress promptly arrived and drinks was ordered. The waitress was friendly and informed us of the specials. She even let us know hoe popular several of the menu items were. We decided on a flatbread pizza and the Chicken Schnitzel. While we were waiting for our order we the restaurant ... Park Tavern has a nice atmosphere feeling, outside seating, and it's rather quiet despite being about 1/2 full. Orders arrived, new drinks acquired. Food was great. Hot, flavorful, and the Chicken Schnitzel with braised red cabbage took me back to southern Germany; Bavaria. Overall a great visit.

Went here for Christmas Eve dinner with the family. 6 adults and 2 kids. We were seated promptly for our 5pm reservations. The guys really enjoyed the beer list. And the wine list was quite nice. I didn't even see the cocktails menu until at the end of dinner! If only we weren't heading to church right after, we would've stayed longer and enjoyed that. We shared the house chips and cheese dip. It was quite yummy but you have to like blue cheese (but who doesnt?) Several folks got the steak sandwich and enjoyed it. All but my mom. There was a bitter aftertaste from the lettuce that she didn't like. But it was just her. I shared my chicken club sandwich with her as it was too much for one meal. The kids even enjoyed their meals. The highlight was the dessert. The boys split the bourbon milkshake. They are still talking about it. It and the chocolate covered bacon which they did not share. Not cool. My sis got the lemon cake and said it was very good. I got the chipwich. It was okay. Not fabulous though. The cookies weren't as soft as I was hoping for. There would've been no way to bit into it without making a mess. Service was a little on the slow side but all in all not a bad meal. We'll go back for sure.

Just had one of my worst expense meals ever. The meatballs were cold. The corn bread had no flavor and my $18 mac and lobster was the worst thing I've ever ate. Now the manager was very gracious to remove the mac and lobster. But my wife had the salad that was missing two main items and my son and I both got the craft root beer at $5 piece. Ouch This is my second time here and for what you get at the price you pay it's not worth it at all.

Bottom Line: Great decor, friendly staff, ok food, a long bar list and a tad overpriced. Since my original review for Park Tavern about eight months ago I have been here many more times sitting in both the restaurant and the bar. I am desperately wanting to love this business, especially recognizing that the restaurant choices in Severna Park are overall dismal. I appreciate that Park Tavern has added happy hour specials in the early evening and Happy Hour starts again at 10pm (I think). I have super fun and energetic neighbors so we manage to span both happy hours. Good for us. :-) I also like that they sent out $10 off coupons to select homes in the area. Nevertheless, I still find Park Tavern overpriced. For $13 on in downtown Annapolis I can get a Lobster Roll that is almost nothing but huge chunks of lobster. For $17 at Park Tavern I can get Lobster Mac and Cheese that tastes like onion and has pea sized pieces of lobster in it. I'm a huge beer drinker so I like that the beer list is long here; however, I am not generally a fan of their Oliver beers. After living in San Diego for 12 years I'm kinda over the super hoppy beers which is the case with most of the Oliver beers. Having said that, I know other people will love the west coast hoppy style beers. If you want something other than the Oliver beers then there are still plenty of choices but currently Park Tavern only offers flights of Oliver beers, which are well executed on a custom chalkboard with cutouts for the glasses. Nevertheless, you can get a 5 oz. pour of most, if not all, draft beers.

This restaurant reserves their bar top for entire NFL Sundays. I came in to watch a football game and was told I couldn't sit at the bar. The open bar stools had printed papers that said "reserved for X." How can you call yourself a tavern and have reservation cards on all the open bar stools? What a joke. I put my name on the list for a seat in the bar area. After 30 minutes, I was seated in the dining room with no view of the TVs. When I complained, I was put back on the list for another 20 minutes. In the end, the food and drinks were solid. I don't think I'll be returning to this pretentious "tavern." It was just way too much work.

I'm giving this review because of the amazing beer list. Go here. Drink beer. The food we had, were just apps and they were just ok.... ....but the beer list. Amazing. They affiliate with their own local brewery called "Oliver" and you can get any 4 of the Oliver beers as a sampler for $8. You can get flights of any beers you want though, as they offer most of their beers at 5oz/12oz/16oz prices. They also offer several nitro beers, which I love, and love when I have options besides Guinness. Oh gosh. They had a Rauchbeir! A Sour! A flavored cider! I just thought this was super super cool beer list. I would give this bar 5 stars if I could pour my own beer and not deal with the service. The service the first night was just fine. Bartenders that I know from Brian Boru, good guys, good bartenders. So I brought my parents in! We sat at a high top, and came in for a specific beer that had actually kicked (I'm pretty sure I actually drank the last pint a few nights previous, but I was having too much fun and forgot. Oops). We sat at a high top since there were 4 of us. Took a while to get a beer list. I feel like the beer list should be in the table. We found beers we wanted, ordered, were pleasantly surprised that Monday is $3 16 oz beers. Yay! I still ordered a flight, and was bummed that it wasn't served in a flight board, like it had been the previous night, because I couldn't remember what I ordered. Beers were served by a different server than the one who took our order. She seemed visibly irritated or stressed, and ignored our table for the rest of our visit. When we were trying to pay, my dad tried to hand her his card, which I know is annoying, but her hands were not full, and she could have grabbed it. Anyway when she did finally grab the check 10 mins later, she brought it back and she had run the wrong card. Thankfully my family is honest, because she would have been shorted excessively, as the bill she ran on my dads car was $20 less than what we owed. I am pretty bummed, because I would have loved if my parents liked this place. They eat out a lot, and I was trying to convince them that they'd like it, since it's right across the street. They had heard that service wasn't great from friends. So beers, YES. Service, meh! Go, drink beers, get drunk enough not to care, take a cab!

Loved it - great recs from our waitress. Came in for brunch, which is a small but good looking menu, and got a flat bread and pear chicken salad, which was amazing. Great for a drink or a meal - sports bar without being too sporty.

We just came here for the first time. We were sat right away and our server was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu. I had the short rib Mac and cheese sandwich which was good, but my husband's choice of the Ale house burger was to die for! The kids meals were really good. We'll definitely be back.

Was really excited to try this place out, but was disappointed. The decor is awesome and it draws you in, but the service here is some of the worst I've seen. They have a great beer selection and I can't say anything about the food because we didn't eat there. Our server seemed overwhelmed although we couldn't really tell why since there weren't a ton of people in there when we came in. One of the guests ordered some coffee and we were told a new batch was being brewed. After about 20 minutes, I went to the bartender to ask if the coffee was ready and he said it was still being brewed. He also looked flustered and overwhelmed. Several minutes later the coffee made it's way to the table. We were not approached by the server again for another 20 minutes or so. We would have ordered more drinks, but we couldn't get any service.

Hi All- local resident here to provide you with my opinion about a recent event we had where 40 people just showed up at the bar when we expected like 10. I would say this place is 3 1/2 stars but I am rounding up because it a local joint, and my server in the bar was AWESOME. Like really fantastic. How do you not break a sweat when there are lots or orders being thrown at you, and credit cards flying about? I don't know! Wouldn't be me! Anyway, she handled it all with poise and confidence. I ordered spicy mussels with some kind of Bacon in it and it was perfecto! My husband ordered the meatball flatbread and he said it was terrible. They should take that off the menu. The drink menu provided a great cider selection which also made me excited. I can see they have room to improve and I am rooting for success! I love the atmosphere, and the bar is fun. WORD OF ADVICE- Park Tavern, Those reserved cards at the bar are ridiculous. Stop. Your're missing the point of the bar. RULES ARE FIRST COME-FIRST SERVE. Period. Since always, in every bar, everywhere. Stop changing the rules every establishment in history has been successful in sticking with. It's crazy, its confusing, and most of all it's ANNOYING. We'll be back again to try more things and I'll update review accordingly.

Up until this past week, Park Tavern was my favorite spot to dine, drink, and entertain guests. Here is how my previous 2 visits went: Visit #1: -Forgot to bring our drinks -Forgot to put my entree order in, and served my guest, who waited to eat his (eventually cold) entree until mine was served. -When my entree was served 10 minutes later, it was the wrong entree. Had to wait an additional 10 minutes for correct entree. -Forgot drinks again. Visit #2: -We apologetically sent the muscles back because they were undercooked, and had a foul taste. -My guest's and my entree were each served with dressing, when we requested without, due to nutritional restrictions. Sent those back as well. -Manager approached us after sending the 3 dishes back. We thought she came to apologize. No, we were interrogated. "Well did you ASK for no dressing?" (Yes). "I don't know why you didn't like the muscles... They've been flying out the door all night." Ugh! Way to make me feel unwelcome! -And yes, in case you're wondering, the steak and shrimp on our salads were cold when re-served. Don't worry Park Tavern, we will find another weekly brunch spot, date night, and business dinner spot. I'm smelling what you're stepping in.

So we have now been to Park Tavern no fewer than 10-12 times. Candidly, this speaks more to our desire to have this place succeed and be what we WANT it to be rather than because of what it is. First, it's quite new, so I totally understand hits and misses. And the place is booming...the first time i tried to eat there was a Monday night at 630ish and there was a 30 minute wait. [Any restauranteurs out there noting the desperation for a place like this in the area?!] Despite the black Friday at Walmart feel in the front area, the very young staff at the front does a great job at trying to accommodate. It's often a madhouse, but they turn tables quickly and the staff has largely been friendly and efficient. The beer selection is vast. I haven't found the perfect one but it's not for lack of trying nor the selection. The few mixed drinks we've had have been totally fine. To argue they have "craft cocktails" is a bit of a stretch but they are good. Most nights it's quite noisy, but a slightly raised voice should allow you a chance to talk with your table mates. Where I'm struggling is the food, which seems like something a restaurant would want to do well. Nothing at all wrong with the burgers, and there are a few apps that are enjoyable--fondue cheese with housemade potato chips, meatballs and the nachos (individual tostadas) are among our faves, and the shishito peppers are great for those who like such things. Entrees? Huge stumble. Consistently sub-par. And incredibly frustrating. Flatbreads, fish and chips, mac and cheese, mussels and short ribs are among the many things we've tried and come away disappointed. The one thing we have had that was outstanding was the breaded chicken (milanesa, i believe). That was a special and they added it to the menu, so props for that. Also above average has been the black and blue salad (steak salad). My kids go to Severn School right around the corner, so that location is perfect. I enjoy coming in for a drink and nibble while waiting to pick up kids. What I WANT, however, is a place that serves above average food (this is NOT a high standard!) in an inviting ambience. They have done well on the latter but continue to disappoint, with frustrating consistency, on the former. Front of the house? A-OK! Back of the house needs work. Soon. Urgently. No one wants this place to be special more than I do. In sum: come, enjoy yourself, sample some great beers, have a drink. But eat at your own risk!

Ask for Greg if you want great service. My husband and I shared the chips & blue cheese appetizer. We also tried the Thai shrimp appetizer. Both were excellent. I highly recommend both. For our entrees, I had a goat cheese and red pepper flat bread. It was Phenomenal. It was fresh made dough and caramelized onions. My husband had a steak and blue cheese salad. He cleaned the plate. Nice decor and ambiance. Can't wait to come back. Oh and they have a late happy hour . Awesome!

Great replacement for the Woodfire Grill. Modern bar and lots of choices on tap. We all know that they spent a ton on buildout....we pay for it in the check! This place isn't inexpensive. The meatballs are my "go to." Very good as the appetizer or sandwich. Nice spice and good flavor. I have tried other entrees and the they are okay but nothing like the meatballs. Definitely try the mule if you like a good vodka drink. They use Tito's and the special ice makes the drink worth it. I recommend trying the Park Tavern as the atmosphere is nice and the staff is friendly. If you make it a regular stop you need to have deep pockets or nice expense account!

We enjoyed our inaugural outing here. Came for a late lunch on a Tuesday and the staffing was very good despite being 2 pm - sometimes places will skimp and it shows. Greeter was a little cranky and that is the only real detractor to the experience. We had a huge sandwich - it was a rib grilled cheese and the amount of meat was impressive - along with fried crab bites that were quite tasty, and kid mac and cheese which was a huge portion and a great value. The mac and cheese and the fries that came with it were served in little cast iron crock pots, which was a fantastic way to keep the food warm. For dessert we had their brownie sundae, a chipwich, and creme brulee. The first two were good, the creme brulee was just ok. They also offer a huge drink menu and I had a nice craft brew. Another thing to their benefit was a 25% off the bill coupon that came in a mailer. Bekah, our waitress, was top notch and I tipped her very well accordingly; she was always cheerful, came by at regular intervals, and was very responsive to a few specific requests we had - and maintained that great customer facing demeanor throughout. We'll be back - this is a flexible place that could serve for an after work get together, a date night, a family outing, or a venue to take in a game. They're doing it right.

Love Park Tavern! It's usually a happy hour or date night happy hour spot for my husband and I. This summer my 6 year old stepson and I have had "Meatball Dates" because we love their meatballs!! They recently changed happy hour pricing but it's still not bad, especially on half price bottles of wine night (even though I could get my bottle for $11.99+tax down the street and here it was regularly over 25). Love the decor and feel of the restaurant and I'm looking forward to sitting outside when it cools down. Bartenders are generally friendly and our waiter or waitress has always been friendly- even when we're spilling drinks and making a mess. Can't ask for much more than that. We'll be back! Probably once a week.... Love it.

I have been here twice, once for dinner with my grandmother and we sat in the dining room, the other for happy hour with a co-worker and we sat at the bar. Both experiences have just been okay. For dinner we had the fried crab dip to start which was pretty good. I was worried about the consistency but it came out perfect. I had a salad which was great(hard to screw that up) and my grandmother had fish and chips which she's gone back to have again so they were obviously good. For happy hour we had some drinks and shared an entree. The drinks were great and the chicken sandwich with French fries was also good. The bread on the sandwich was slightly too think and tough for my taste. What I didn't like about this place was that there always seems to be a wait for the bar area yet many open tables and bar stools are available. We are always told that they are "reserved". I've spent a good 90 minutes in here for happy hour and never saw one person sit at these open seats. It's a bar, why are reservations being taken for high tops and bar stools? Very bizarre. The wait staff here is also extremely slow. Very nice but it seems like they disappear. All in all this place has great food but the atmosphere sucks. Definitely not going to be my first pick with Mothers right down the street.

I was really really satisfied during my visit. My boyfriend and I showed up after 11 on a Friday night to get dinner, but unfortunately the kitchen was closed. Understandable, most kitchens do close at 11. They should have a late night menu though. We returned in the evening on Sunday and were sat immediately in a bar booth. Perfect! It had a great atmosphere, great beer selection (even though the habanero beer I was dying to try had kicked), and a variety of foods that are satiable for any palate. Goat cheese flatbread? So good. Oysters were delicious, and the blackened chicken pasta was amazing. Our server, Tony, was great. Knowledgable on beer, came back to check on us often, and was on point with drink refills. It wasn't busy when we went, but as long as they can keep up when they are busy, this is sure to be a favorite.

So I was there when you first opened your restaurant...beer selection excellent but thought your menu was over priced, selections limited and what I did order was not impressed...so this past Saturday I stopped in for a second time...sat down at the bar, ordered a beer and ask for a menu...(10:45pm)...bar tender advised the kitchen was closed, I looked at the menu board above the bar and saw that you have light night happy hour apps until closing???...I ask the bartender, how can you post this but the kitchen is close...his comment..."Taco Bell is open"...really, so I paid for my one beer and left...I serious doubt I'll ever be back especially with places like Adams Ribs, Mother's, Severna Park Tap House...to bad Wood Fire/Back Room is still not in operation at this location...

So close... Ambiance and Decor = 5/5 Food = 3/5 Service= 3.5/5 My wife and I had dinner here last week. As Severna Park residents, we were very excited to try a local restaurant that had the food and ambiance of a place in Annapolis, Baltimore, or even DC. Overall, we were very happy with our experience, but look forward to improvements in food and service that should come as the restaurant hits its stride. Ambiance/Decor: Awesome. They did a great job on the renovation, and we look forward to coming here again. You don't feel like you're in Severna Park, which is seriously lacking good dining options. Food: We opted for the pretzel appetizer, and were extremely happy. My wife loves soft pretzels, while I was a bit skeptical. We loved it. For entrees, my wife went with the crab linguine special while I went with the shrimp and grits. The portions were large and presentation was nice. The linguine came out lukewarm and didn't have much taste. Not very special. The shrimp and grits were good, but not great. The shrimp were slightly overcooked and the sausage was tough. It tasted fine though, so this seemed to be a lack of execution in the kitchen more than anything. Drink: We each had a glass of white wine. My wife's glass came out nice and chilled, while mine was only slightly cold. Perhaps the bottle hadn't been chilled long enough, which was unfortunate. The bar needs to pay more attention to details like this. Service: Our server was great and very attentive. The only real issue was our entrees came to the table while we were still eating our appetizer. This is incredibly annoying and hopefully is not a regular occurrence. Someone (server or kitchen) needs to do better managing the table. Overall: While we weren't 100% happy with our food, we were prepared for this based on prior reviews and word of mouth. We do see the potential though, and have high hopes that Park Tavern will be able to quickly change these relatively minor issues in short order. We look forward to returning because in all honestly, they're still the best combination of food and ambiance in Severna Park.

Very happy to see such a high-quality restaurant pop up in Severna Park. Went in for lunch on a Friday and we were immediately seated. Orders of salads and sandwiches were made and every bit was delicious. Not one ingredient was lacking. Service was friendly and helpful. Looks like they have great happy hour specials. The ambiance was great too - clean, fresh, interesting. Wish I lived closer so that I could go more often.

A friend of a friend described this new addition to Severna Park as "upscale pub food." Unfortunately, it failed to live up to even that low standard. First, the service. Our party of six arrived on time for our 7:15 reservation, but were not seated until 7:45, and even then in a bar booth instead of a table. However, our waiter was efficient and helpful. Cocktails: My Sweet Heat and Sea (tequila, grapefruit juice, and habanero) lacked any of the freshness of the juice and any of the heat or sweetness of the habanero syrup. In fact, it tasted to everyone at the table like straight tequila. When I mentioned it to our waiter, he said it sounded like the bar had left out the syrup. The replacement he brought back was better, but still lacked any hint of grapefruit juice. By contrast, the Autumn Martini was a hit at the table. Appetizers: the hostess raved about the "honey chipotle" wings (while we waited for our table). To me they tasted like standard buffalo wings at any neighborhood bar. The house chips and blue cheese were crisp and flavorful. The soft pretzel was fine. Main dishes: the theme here was overdoneness. My medium rare steak frites arrived brown throughout and lacked any real flavor. The fries were slightly above average. The angry mussels were also overcooked and tough. At these prices ($23 for the steak, for instance), I expect a much better overall experience. I doubt I will return, which is too bad because Severna Park needs more decent restaurants.

A winner! Park Tavern leaves all other area casual dining in the dust. Most food is freshly prepared in the kitchen, and the quality is evident. The appetizer portions are substantial as well. The Pan Roasted Meatballs are hand mixed and rolled, served in a flavorful marinara sauce. We also had the Fresh Baked Soft Pretzels with Coarse Ground and Ale Mustards, which included two large pretzels, nicely baked and served warm. On our second trip, we ordered Tostada Nachos, individually beaned nachos served with guacamole, salsa and sour cream on the side; as well as the Adobo Chicken Tacos, which comprised braised chicken thigh meat, favorably seasoned on a tostada shell. Park Tavern is a sister to the Columbia Ale House and was a welcome addition to the Severna Park restaurant scene. Stop in and enjoy.

Went last night for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. First of all service was very good, hostess was very gracious. Started with mussels, very good and my wife had spicy shrimp, again very good. Had a rack of ribs that were tender with a sauce that was not overkill. My wife had shrimp and grits which again as she said were good. Overall a nice addition to the area.

A well welcomed modern eatery in SP. The good: Stylish interior, creative menu, impressive beer selection. Room for improvement: quality of food (which is not bad, but nothing extra-ordinary for the price), and professionalism of the staff (while some have impeccable table side manner and superb attitude, some others seem lost in a faux-pas situation -i.e. spilling half of the contents of the appetizer plate onto the customers table). Will be back though, the "good" is worth it :)

I was very disappointed in my my first experience with Park Tavern, to bad really. My wife and I went for lunch on a Monday. We arrived around 11:30 and were promptly seated. The Good: the renovations are very nice. Upscale yet casual feel. It's open and inviting, like a tavern should be. The Bad: Service and selection. Our server was prompt and courteous. She explained the daily specials, including a specialty chipotle burger. I asked about the "build a burger' on the weekly specials menu located on the table. She advised that was the special chipotle burger. I asked her if she was trying to tell me that the build a burger special WAS the chipolte and there was no build a burger option. She said that was correct...Huh? How does that make sense? If she did not know, she should have asked. In addition, why wasn't the customer right? Her response should have been "We can make you whatever burger you want" regardless of the specials. I can get that service at any fast food chain. Also on the daily special was chili. My wife ordered a cup a chili. We were told it's only available in the bowl. Again, huh? You can build a higher margin on a cup vs. a bowl. Given the choice of only a bowl or nothing, we choose nothing. That was a lost sales opportunity. We ran into the same thing when trying to substitute sides or purchasing a small side salad. Even the basic salad is not available as a side option. It appears that the menu is rigid with no flexibility to accommodate individual preferences. This is huge turn off. The Ugly. I ordered the Tavern Burger (custom beef blend, braised double cut bacon, Tillamook cheddar, tomato jam, arugula, sesame seed brioche, served with shoestring fries) medium rare. The burger was served medium well and very dry. In addition, the burger had a strong smoke flavor. It overpowered most of the other flavors. Nothing in the ingredients or menu description said smoked. I can only conclude that liquid smoke was added to the mix. The shoe string potatoes were served in a little metal pot. They were cold (think Frenches Potato Sticks). It would have been better had the metal pot been heated to help hold the heat, assuming the fries were made to order and not precooked. The Good(ish). My wife's Oyster 'Po-Boy was very good. Oysters were nicely fried, nice bread with a wonderful chipotle remoulade. The chips were cold and really not that great. I'm guessing these are not made to order either. This probably would have been a 3 review for $10 meals. For $20+ I expect more from both the front end and the kitchen. I really want to see this business succeed. They have a nice whiskey menu that I would love to explore. With improperly trained wait staff, inflexible menu, and apparent lack of quality control, I would have a hard time with gambling another $50 to try again. .

I had really wanted to like this place! Really anticipatiled it's opening. The first few times in were great. However after trying them again a few times we found them to be very inconsistent. After taking friends there and being upset with the quality and taste of the food - not to mention extremely short wine pours -- we have given up. Wish the food and menu was more like its sister resturants-columbia Ale house and Pratt st. Sad that our "neighborhood" resturant isn't worth stopping at.

Really well done folks - This brand new restaurant combines great customer service and a really solid menu. We have eaten there twice - both times the food was above par and well prepared. I believe that the mark of any business is how they handle when there is a problem. I ordered the steak sandwich and when I opened it, there was so little meat that it looked really awkward. I called over my waiter who immediately went back to the kitchen. The kitchen manager came out, explained that the cook had given me a portion designed for another dish, and she immediate expedited a new sandwich. I was frustrated, but it is a new restaurant and as they worked out the kinks, mistakes happen. Here is the thing - Everyone went above and beyond to make it right and they ultimately comped my sandwich. It was amazing - just incredible. I wondered what an $18 steak would taste like - I can tell you - it tastes like heaven. My wife got the macaroni and cheese - Which is no regular mac and cheese - You can order it with sausage, bacon, or crab or any number of other meats and flavors. Incredible - this is no kids box food for sure! The first time I ate there I got the brisket grilled cheese - because my server raved over it - I was nervous, but one bite calmed me down - and I gorged on it. Just incredible as well - Just get extra napkins as it is a sloppy, gooey, delicious mess and worth getting dirty. Lastly, I would say that I threw out a 4-star rating here for one reason - Their dinner menu and lunch menu are identical, and I am concerned that Severna Park won't sustain a $15-20 sandwich for lunch. Even as a dinner price, it is a little steep. Don't get me wrong - the food was incredible, but the reality is that the price might be a little high once the novelty of the new restaurant wears off. I hope this place is there forever, as it is an incredible meal and I highly recommend it. Make reservations and plan on looking for parking for 10 minutes - The lot is not ready for this restaurant.

Craft cocktails, local greens, and life-changing macaroni and cheese! I had The Borrachón, a house salad with balsamic, buffalo macaroni and cheese, black coffee, and a creme brulee. Perfect muddle, amazing bread crumbs, and please don't stop using cavatappi! Bartenders are foodies too. :)

How can you call yourself a tavern and you have one type of wings and they are worse then TGIF wings. Cornbread was bland and tasteless (never order!). Those are the two items we ordered and it toke 30 minutes to come out. Not one to complain, but this place needs some work. As for the overall look, amazing!! But my expectations were not met at all. Ale house in Columbus really made me think this would be a place I could come to near home and get the same amazing overall experience, but it was a huge let down.

My wife and I came in today around 2pm and had an excellent experience. They have a superior craft beer selection with knowlageble bartenders. They are one of the few places that offer a cask beer. Unfortunately we only had room for appetizers today , but they were filling and tasted great!! I will be back and continue to spread the news about this place. It's hard to find a staff that truly cares about the beer they serve and the food.

I am so excited that a brand new, bright and CLEAN restaurant opened in my hometown. Everyone I know has been waiting for the Park Tavern to finally open. I've had the opportunity to spend time there 3 times since they opened in late October. Twice for dinner with my family and once to spend some "bar time" with friends. First, the menu is very unique with a wide variety of "new" and customized apps and entrees. Def not your typical "American Pub" selections you see at every chain restaurants and bars. The chef obviously used his experience and training to come up with some of the most interesting choices I've ever seen. I can almost guarantee that there is something on the menu you've never had a chance to experience. The atmosphere was great. High energy with staff that is so engaged that its almost scary. At the table during dinner, our waitress was also a high energy and super friendly and it was refreshing to see someone in who actually seemed to love her job. We even had a small accident in which my niece knocked over her full drink of Sprite went across the whole table and ran on the floor. The manager quickly got on his ear piece radio and in within 30 seconds there were 2 bus boys wiping it up mopping the floor while the manager stood by distracting everyone making light of the situation. My niece was so embarrassed and was almost in tears and the staff made her feel like nothing happened and that it happens all the time. She immediately forgot about the event and it was like it never happened and we enjoyed the rest of our evening. Last, at the bar, I almost felt it was overstaffed. Never had to ask for a refill and my meal was out in no time. Super quick service and everyone around were happy and enjoying themselves too. If you like draft beer with tons of selections on tap, you will be very pleased. Bottom line, thank you to the people that took the risk to open a place that I believe will be the "go-to" place in Severna Park. Long over due! One quick comment to the VERY few people with the not so nice comments. As a business owner that knows what it takes to take on such a huge and risky venture, please remember this place JUST opened. This is a brand new establishment, new managers, staff, etc. Maybe look at it from another point of view. We really need a place like this and the friends and neighbors I know are so excited about it. Maybe give them another chance... That's my opinion so hope it helps and that it gives you an idea of my personal experience.

Great new place in Severna Park. Every thing was well thought of from food to atmosphere. We ordered the crab dip fritters. Amazing spin on the MD classic. By far one of the best MD inspired appetizer I have ever had. The wings were ok. Honestly the biggest let down. I was expecting more. The burger can win a competition. No joke one of the best I have had. The beef blend is legit. Finished off with the $14 bourbon milkshake. (A piece of chocolate covered bacon inside) If you complain about slow service or food, you need to expect it. Very busy at 5pm and less than 2 weeks open. Not a bad seat in the house. And we were happy to know that we could get happy hour specials at our table away from the bar. Ask for Rebecca. Attentive and upbeat server.

My daughter and I go out to dinner every week. We try different restaurants in our area. I had a coupon for Park Tavern so we decided to go there. After being seated it took a little while for the waitress to finally come up to take our drink order. We ordered the PT Cosmo and it was not good very bitter. Any time any part of our order came out it was by a runner not our server . We saw our serve her sporadically throughout our meal, we were always looking for her. Had the service been better my daughter and I would've have lingered longer to talk. As it was we just wanted to go. I presented my card and my coupon to pay for our meal and when the bill came back she had not given me a breakdown of the complete bill and it did not reflect a 25% discount . It only took $10 off the bill which was less than the 25% discount. We tried finding our server to get it corrected but after waiting five minutes just decided to go and never return

Had reservations on Saturday night at 7:45. I think we were a little late getting our table but it was packed and we were able to grab a beer at the bar while we waited so the wait didn't matter. Food was delicious and the service was great considering out packed it was! We had the nachos and Thai Curry mussels for apps. Loved that the nachos were NOT a pile of chips with toppings on less than half of them but instead were individually topped. There were four of us eating dinner and everyone seemed very pleased with their meals! We got the porkchop, the half chicken, short rib grilled cheese and shrimp and grits and we all pretty much cleaned our plates. We couldn't leave without trying dessert. We all split the chipwich and the brownie sundae which was amazing as well. We will definitely be back to try that Bourbon Bacon Milkshake too. A very nice addition to the Severna Park area. Hope they continue with the great atmophere and the great food.

After multiple recommendations to attend Park Tavern,My DH and I visited for our anniversary dinner. The tap list is quite large (which I LOVE) and the menu was equally is as great. We had the Muscles as an appetizer and it could have easily been a meal. They were fantastic! We will be back!

Really glad a place like this has finally opened up in Severna Park. I was getting tired of having to go to Columbia, Baltimore, or DC to find a restaurant with a good menu and a really good beer selection. Our visit was great, they even managed to accommodate my 10 month old son with a high chair. All the staff was super friendly and polite. The beer selection was indeed impressive, and I was really happy with the menu. However, I did feel that it was a touch on the expensive side for lunch. Our food came out fairly quickly and everything was excellent. I can't wait to go back and sample more of the wall of beer.

Sunday evening. Waiter friendly but slow. 2 small Cesar Salad, Avocado Chicken club and wife had the pulled pork sandwich (4 slices of bread, pulled pork ,a breast of chicken, 2 avocado slice, one tomato slice), 2 water $42.00 ouch. French fry were greasy and looked translucent, like they were cursed with several bath in oil before finally find their way to a plate with a pedestrian sandwich on it . Please learn how to make a FRENCH FRY...it isn't too difficult.... Decor is nice. BUT....What is it with the "RESERVED TABLE" in the bar area ? Reserved for whom exactly? I have never been to a place that does this, really unfriendly, sending this message: "If you seat here you better spend lot's of $$$$" TERRIBLE. Also, they refill the ketchup bottles....they refill them meaning fresh ketchup poured over the old one, rise the cap under water...done....this isn't permitted by health code. What a terrible way to pinch pennies.. Overall mediocre, extremely pretentious. Won't be back, unless...nah....won't go back there. sorry.

Awesome atmosphere and the staff is wonderful! I had the tostada nachos as an appetizer which was very good. The guacamole was a great topping! For my meal I had the buffalo chicken flatbread which was very good & not too spicy. It was also a decent size I had to talk half of it home. I had the orange crush and I loved it. There was also crushed ice in it. For dessert the Apple hand Pie with bourbon caramel sauce topped with ice cream! Yummmmm. Will definitely be coming here a lot.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere, the food and the service. The prices were a little higher and the crowd was a little older which was perfect for us! We will definitely be going back! We had the roasted cauliflower and a tavern burger which were both really awesome. I had a few martinis and my boyfriend has some of the house beers which were fresh, perfect temperature and super tasty.

After frequenting, they are not executing. 2 stars for food, 3 for bar. Seemingly clueless mgmt yells at staff in front of patrons, food still having consistency issues. Ice cold beer and bar scene saves this place, as does the lack of competition. Still too loud, they could use some diffusers. We're pulling for you, this is yours to lose.

Went for lunch with a friend. Casual, comfortable, modern atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Food was good and served promptly. My friend ordered a pickle appetizer that was not very exciting. He had a spinach salad and had no trouble substituting a balsamic dressing for the recommended bacon dressing, although the waitress was not able to make any alternative suggestions. I had a Greek Salad with chicken and it was very well made with all of the ingredients cut small and evenly distributed so I got the full flavor in every bite. No complimentary bread with the salads, but that's ok, I'm trying to cut out the bread... I had water, he had iced tea and the bill was $38, so just a little pricey for two salads, some pickle slices and an iced tea, but all in all, a good experience. If I'm near there, I'll go back, but I won't make a special trip.

The restaurant was very busy but the hostesses at the front greeted us with smiles and our waitress was attentive. The ambiance and decor are contemporary and inviting and the beer and wine selection was outstanding. I had the tavern burger and it rivaled my fave burger at the Capital Grill. Hubby had the black and blue salad and his steak was delicious and perfectly rare. Only negative was the crab Mac and cheese. Not enough flavor, breadcrumbs were thrown on top and not baked in, overpriced and the sauce was too watery. Other than the disappointing Mac and cheese we enjoyed our meal and would return.

Went there on a fairly busy Saturday night. Wait was going to be a half hour, so sat at the bar. Great decision. Started out with crab dip fritters and Thai green chili mussles. Both were excellent. Bartender Craig was well versed on the menu and history of the restaurants and directed us towards the pork chop and burger for dinner. Even asked us our temps for the meat which is not a common occurrence in the area. Both came out exactly as ordered. Pork chop had a 24 hour brine, was thick, juicy and medium just like ordered. Burger was medium rare and melted in your mouth. After we wrapped up the leftovers, he showed us the dessert menu, and we regretted not having second stomachs. Will definitely be back.

What a disappointment! Food was way below par. Fatty meat, burnt chicken, sauces tasted old. Desserts tasted frozen. Flat bread was just that--tasteless and flat. Really bad. Service was amateur hour. Worst part--dishes were not all clean! Gross. Forget the food, and go for a tasty beer.

My wife and I stopped by on Veterans Day for lunch. We were excited to hear about this place opening. Everything we had read emphasized the owners' focus on top-notch customer service and great food so we were looking forward to giving this place a try. My wife and I are tough critics when it comes to food and service; I'll state that up front. That being said, we had absolutely no complaints in the customer service department. Our server, Kirsten, was top-notch. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and just the perfect level when it came to attentiveness. I'll give this place high marks for atmosphere and food presentation. I was also impressed by their beer/wine selection and the fact that they have their own locally-brewed (in Baltimore) beers - we tried 3 different varieties and they were all good. I saw where another reviewer complained about the ambient noise level -yeah, I'll agree with that. I have a pet peeve with all the newer restaurants opting for the industrial unfinished ceiling approach. That was cool for me the first couple times I saw it done - like at Chipotle, but now I think it's over-played and time for restaurants/bars to put a little more time and effort into the decor overhead. I think these types of sparse industrial ceilings do little to help with noise levels -and probably actually make them worse. Let's move on to the food. First, let me say that I've been avoiding beef, chicken, and pork for health reasons since May -so I always search out the vegetarian or seafood/fish dishes on menus. I was a little let down by the lack of vegetarian offerings on Park Tavern's menu. There were only a couple salads (most with meat), none of which got my attention. I finally decided to have something I've never had before - an Oyster Po'Boy Sandwich! I love oysters -raw and fried- so I figured this was a good pick. We also ordered the "Buffalo Oysters" as an appetizer because my wife likes them too. She also chose a burger as her main course sandwich. The appetizer of buffalo oysters was delicious. The oysters were perfectly done and had buffalo sauce and blue cheese drizzled on them. The only complaint- for $14, I expected more than 4 oysters. That, to me, was a little pricey and I started to wonder what my $16 Oyster Po'Boy sandwich would look like. It wasn't long before my wife's Tavern Burger and my Po'Boy Sandwich arrived. Both sandwiches looked sizeable and they each came with shoestring fries that were just perfect. My sandwich advertised a chipotle remoulade and cabbage slaw on a baguette - I was excited to dig in. That excitement soon turned to extreme disappointment as the first bite hit my taste buds. There's no other way to put it but to say it was horrible. And I wanted to make sure that it wasn't just me thinking that so I had my wife taste it -she whole-heartedly agreed it was terrible. She said it tasted like "the bottom of an aquarium" (I'll have to take her word on that since I've never actually tasted the bottom of an aquarium). I sat there a moment in disbelief. It was really, really bad and I just had a hard time believing it. We had just had an appetizer of oysters -the same fried variety that appeared to be on my sandwich- and they were great. The only thing we can figure is the oysters were either bad or they were badly prepared (or both). Even Kirsten, our server, agreed that they looked undercooked. She had absolutely no problem taking the sandwich away and quickly apologized and offered to put in an order for something else. I went with the blackened fish taco appetizer which was much better -not the best fish tacos I've ever had, but definitely tasty. But again I have to mention the price - $14 for 3 tiny tacos with maybe 2 oz. of fish total. PRICEY. My wife gave her burger high marks - it looked wonderful. The bacon they put on it was more like a slice of ham. She said it was cooked as ordered and the bacon gave the whole thing a nice smoked flavor. That burger was $14 too. So, once it was all over, the bill came to around $65 for the fish tacos, the buffalo oysters, and the tavern burger plus 4 12-ounce draft craft beers. Call me a tight-wad but I still think that's a little too pricey -for lunch no less. The food was good -above average- and so was the service, but I've had better lunches (more food) for WAY less money. Likewise, I've had similarly expensive lunches that were far inferior to Park Tavern. So I guess if you have the money and you're OK with spending $14 for a burger (or 3 tiny fish tacos), you probably won't be disappointed with Park Tavern. I wouldn't be opposed to going back in a few weeks/months to check it out again, but it's definitely not a "go-to" destination for me based on this one visit.

My wife and I enjoyed a great Sunday meal at the new Park Tavern. We started with an appetizer of two giant pretzels. The waiter said the dough was not made there but the pretzels were cooked there. The pretzels did not disappoint. The beer cheese and mustard were great for the pretzels. We took one pretzel home for a late day snack. My wife had a sandwich with short rib meat, carmelized onions, gruyer cheese and arugula. It was delicious. The homemade potato chips were excellent too. I had the mac and cheese with short rib meat. The serving size was not huge but it was plenty. The waiter, Ryan, was awesome. His recommendations were spot on. Ryan was very nice, very attentive to our needs and kept me well watered. (I wonder how long the restaurant will continue to offer water from those fancy bottles.) We loved the decor and neighborhood atmosphere. The restaurant is new and it was clear that some of the staff was learning. There were quite a few young people who appeared to be standing around. We arrived at 11:10am on a Sunday looking to see if they had a brunch. We overheard the manager tell another customer that they were getting the restaurant launched and would have a brunch starting in December. The restaurant was very busy by the time we left (~ 12:15pm). We look forward to returning. &&& For the couple who sat nearby and complained about one of their entrees. To get the food comp'ed and then take home the leftovers was a bit odd. Stiffing the wait staff for a kitchen problem was really uncool. You drank all your beverages and at most of your meal. You were not a class act. &&&

Despite previous reviews I liked the place! Apps where great, wings and the pretzels were awesome! Braised rib grill cheese, chopped salad, chicken schnitzel, Mac and cheese with bacon, all good. The atmosphere was great reminds me of restaurants in Denver, very open floor plan. Beer is excellent! Will come again!

As a local Severna Park resident, I was really looking forward to Park Tavern's opening and was really disappointed with the service. Went there for dinner and sat in the bar area. Took 10 minutes for someone to come by with menus and wait on us. While food was good, service was horrible. Had to ask for utensils and napkins when our food arrived, asked waiter twice for water but he never brought it out. Relied on other staff members to service the request. Poor Service. Very disappointed in this new neighborhood tavern.

Came in for dinner on Friday night and the place was jumping. We didn't make a reservation so we decided to wait for a table and have a couple drinks at the bar. Bartenders were very friendly despite being busy. Tried one of the "house beers" that apparently are brewed at a separate location, and it was very good. Service was great once we were seated at a table, staff was very knowledgeable and made some great suggestions. We had the crab fritters (Amazing), and I had the pork chop (maybe the best pork chop i've ever had, not exaggerating) and my wife had the salmon and beet entree which she said was also very good. All in all it was a great time, restaurant itself is also very impressive looking. My only criticism would be that while it was busy, it was a bit loud even in the dining room. But food, drinks, and service were all spot on.

The Park Tavern was nicely done on the inside. Let me get right to the point. I ordered the Fish and Chips at $17 and they brought out 4 small pieces of fish that no where matched my expectation of what I was going to get for $17 dollars. My wife ordered the Macaroni and cheese with Lobster which was just Ok and again pricey. We both enjoyed a soda for our drink and some wings. Our bill was not a lunch time bill for two. We will probably not be returning but believe it might be good for someone else.

Meh. Mixed reviews on this place had me wait until opening kinks were worked out to try it. Maybe I didn't wait long enough? Underwhelmed was what I left with. Service was good, food was just mediocre. Deviled egg appetizer was just not that impressive. Definitely missing some salt and flavor. A tiny bit of tomato jam on top was the only thing that saved it from tasting like a regular old egg. I got a meatball sub and it was also not noteworthy. Smeared with pesto, it was just lukewarm meatballs on a sub roll with cheese. Would not order again. House made chips were nothing exciting. Dining partner got a salad whose only bright spot was the dressing. Waitress highly recommended the creme brulee which is always something I'll get if available. Its my kryptonite. After her excellent description, they were out of it. Things happen, but after a so so meal I was hoping that would be the bright spot. We got a brownie sundae instead to share. Between the 2 of us, we didn't finish it. Nothing special. For a $60 no alcohol lunch (with tip) I would have hoped to have left with at least one high point. Won't be running back here anytime soon.

Been to Park Tavern a few times now and I'm finally ready to comment! My first visit on opening night was great. Lots of people, quick-ish drink service at the fully seated bar and timely appatizer delivery after I got a seat. I immediately noticed their nice selection of liquors, wine, and beers, highlighted by their house Oliver Brewery beers. Can't go wrong here if you're thirsty. Well there is one thing... this place can be pricy! And OweMalley's alcohol tax can be a pretty penny itself when you drink the good stuff. But since that applies everywhere all you need to know is this Park Tavern is a classy joint with high dollar drinks and menu items but has some comparably priced bar fare as well. And their building is LEED certified... woohoo?!?! So I've made more than a few stops in to see what the weekday happy hour and dinner crowd is like. It hasn't always been so alive like the first visit. In fact more times than not Park Tavern has been rather underwhelming despite all the hype. Even still the food has been great the place does look wonderful.. the neighborhood board gives it a unique local touch. I certainly like the change of scenery but I fear Park Tavern will be much like Woodfire in the end: Older dinner crowds, expensive, and a place a lot of people would like to go more often but rarely do. It would be great too if they updated their website so I don't have to download the menu and could see specials, events, etc.

1st time here and wont be our last! Had a reservation and were seated after just a few minutes. The server was very attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. We ordered the wings, pretzels, deviled eggs, pickles and cornbread. The deviled eggs could have used a little seasoning but everything else was amazing! The pretzel was so light and crispy! Loved the wine bottle selection and the fact that they had bottles on special!! We will definitely be back!

My daughter and I arrived last night for dinner and sat in the tiny dining room near the front door. I did enjoy the urban modern feel to this restaurant however it was jacked packed with tables very close together- to be expected because that is the way a traditional tavern is set up. However this is a gastro pub not a tavern. What annoyed me out of the gate was the multiple food runners running in a cramped space. I asked for a new bottle of ketchup and napkins for our wings. Was given a nod several times from several runners but the items never came. The main server was very very nice and brought the main dishes of fish n chips and mac n cheese quickly and refilled drinks with a nice smile. The food was ok slightly cold fries and lukewarm fish but tasty..Def made at the restaurant. Getting back to the Ketchup and napkins. I can only assume since cloth napkins are used they dont have paper napkins. The reason I wanted a new bottle of ketchup is glass jars are unsanitary for several reasons. The main 2 reasons are: Server are directed to refill half empty jars at the end of the shift dumping new ketchup over old ketchup from tin cans from BJS or the distributor to save a few bucks. That is why the label on a glass bottle of ketchup often looks worn off. What happens is the bottom of the glass ketchup jar goes bad creates gas and the bottle eventually explodes when opened. Also the public will stick dirty silverware into the jars when eating contaminating the glass bottle (Very disgusting) Glass jars of ketchup were banned in Maryland around 2003. Because of exploding bottles and people getting sick. I am not sure why this restaurant has them. But that is not why I am upset. This is what set me off right here. I ordered a brownie sundae for my daughter. A food runner came running and dropped it off in front of my daughter and bolted. My first instinct as a mom is to re position the plate and find a spoon. When I went to push the plate a little it burned my hand. It was seconds from out under the oven broiler. I have 2nd and 3rd degree burns on my hand. THANK GOD it was me and not my 8yr old daughter that was burned otherwise she would be at the hospital this weekend and not at an event we had planned for her for months. I cant believe a food runner could be that negligent. (That is food running 101 explained to them the first 10 min of training.) I am planning on suing this restaurant.

Liked the place, been there 3 times so far. Have eaten in all three areas: raised bar area, front window, lower table. Everything I've eaten has been delicious. The service has been fantastic all three times. The staff has been very cheerful and knowledgeable about the menu. It is noisy but that's the atmosphere, not a complaint. We've had the pretzel appetizer, the Park burger, the chicken avocado sandwich, the PEI mussels, and I can't remember the other items but they were all tasty. Only complaint- I would love a selection of lighter fare for those of us who can't look at a burger without gaining 2 lbs (my problem, not theirs). We'll go back- lots.

So.....tried it out! Four at the table ordered the rockfish special. Tiny portions. Ordered bread twice. Starving! Crowded now because your new ......just order the burger and fries if you come here....or drive a bit. Very disappointed. We were clear about it. 75 minutes. $149.28 without the tip. Headed out to dinner #2.

The service was so bad. 4 of us went for lunch on Saturday. The restaurant looks great, and the selection of craft beers is great. However, we never got the appetizers we ordered. After a long wait our burgers arrived, and only one of four was cooked as ordered. I ordered medium rare and got a dry gray burger. My wife ordered medium rare and got a burger with a flag stating it was well-done. 15 Minutes later they brought her a new burger that was somewhere between raw and rare. The double thick bacon on the burgers was almost all fat and not the least bit crispy. The fries were lukewarm. The waiter stated that he forgot to enter our appetizer order, and stated that he could get it after our food arrived. At that point we declined. The waiter was not attentive at all - never refilled water glasses or asked if we wanted more beers. I would have liked another beer, especially if we would have gotten the appetizers we ordered. It looks like the place has potential, but we were very disappointed. I'm not sure if we will go back again. Too bad.

I was pretty disappointed with my experience. I visited on a weeknight, and the place was almost full, including the bar, so I always view that as a good sign. That said, I think the crowd an indicator of two possibilities. It could be that Severna Park needs more good restaurants and that the novelty will wear off for the 1st timers, and then the place will end up struggling. Or, my experience was a fluke, just back luck. Being that the Bay is in our backyard, I was shocked that there weren't some better seafood options on the entree menu. Macaroni and cheese with lobster or mussels is not my idea of a nice seafood dish. Some fish and crab cakes would have been nice additions. My Local Greens salad was delicious! It had a very light and flavorful citrus vinaigrette dressing that was fantastic. I ordered a "craft cocktail" which was OK, but I was sure happy I didn't pay the full price for it (we were there during the $4 off time frame). The flavors were fine, but as a very light drinker, I can feel the effects of a single drink. I did not with this drink. I also ordered the fish tacos (3 small soft flour tortillas) from the appetizer menu. The 1st one was acceptable. Then half way through the 2nd one, I hit something in the fish that I couldn't chew. The 3rd one was the same way. Seriously, I could not chew through it! I should have sent it back, but I didn't. I was also disappointed with the service. Everything took much longer than usual for us to get, and our server was nearly invisible the entire time we were there. She seemed to be inexperienced as a server and to not have received much training.

Stopped mid-afternoon on a Saturday only to find the place packed. In between the booths and bar are high tops that accommodate six people. Some tables only had two occupants with coats and purses covering the other four seats ....think management should monitor that and if the seats are not being used and the place is super busy free them up for other patrons! Regarding the food, I had a 1/2 order of Ceasar salad with salmon on top. The salad dressing was bland and the croutons straight from a box! Another words, non-descript!! My husband had the short rib sandwich which was 80% bread......waiter mentioned that you could get fries in lieu of chips for $1.00 more! Crazy when you are already paying $17 for a sandwich. Better and less costly offerings next door at Adams Taphouse Grille! Anyhow, we will no doubt give it a second try for happy hour, although there are only four appetizers included in the happy hour to choose from. I will say that they did a beautiful job on the interior of the restaurant. Service was also very good based on the large crowd. As with any new establishment, hopefully the will work out the "kinks" based on feedback, etc.

We were really excited to have this place open up. Renovations are immaculate, food presentation is spot on, service still requires some polishing, and food...in my opinion isn't worth the price tag. I got the shrimp and grits for $23...it was more sausage than shrimp served in a spicy marinara sauce. I waited and waited for it to come out. The kids got their food and in thought it was kinda cool how they tended to the kids first. Well, after 20 min, I asked the server nicely is mine on the way. She replied, "I thought you were still deciding."....HUH?? If I wanted to only feed the kids chicken tenders we would of gone to chikfila across the street! Told her to forget it, but she insisted that I order because it's so good. So I did. In short, should of saved the $. Bill was $60...a lot for 1 adult 2 kids. Thinking we will just stick with Mothers Grille down the street. Food never disappoints and prices are reasonable.

Awesome!

After multiple recommendations to attend Park Tavern,My DH and I visited for our anniversary dinner. The tap list is quite large (which I LOVE) and the menu was equally is as great. We had the Muscles as an appetizer and it could have easily been a meal. They were fantastic! We will be back!

Delicious food...the chicken avocado club was really good. They have about 30 beers on tap, with several from Oliver Brewing in Baltimore. The service can be a bit slow, even when they're only moderately busy. However the service is great when you get them. If it's an issue, sit at the bar.

Glad to see a casual restaurant with a really great atmosphere finally opened up in Severna Park. They must have spent a lot of money renovating the restaurant...felt like a restaurant in DC or NYC. Steak frites was great. Awesome beer selection. Would definitely go back again.

Too bad.
