Generally, steak joints named after places in south Philly don't live up to their names, and this place is no exception. They advertise the best cheesesteak on Anne Arundel Co, but they aren't even close. I would probably give that honor to Capri in Glen Burnie. In reality, this is just a competent sub shop, staffed by students who are more into their smart phones than working. They also have a food truck which, regrettably, visits my office once a week to reheat cheesesteaks in our lobby. If you've never had a pre-cooked cheesesteak reheated on a k-mart electric pancake griddle......well, stop by.

Don't waste your time. The bad reviews are legit- over priced, bland food that is a joke of a proportion for what you pay for it. I've eaten cheesesteaks dozens and dozens of times in the city of brotherly love... This place isn't even a hint of the real deal. You can find a better, CHEAPER, cheesesteak at almost any local place here in MD. They don't even give chain places a run for their money. I won't name names but there's a place in Odenton that serves a CS that the steak alone weighs more than the entire sandwich I got from this place AND it costs the same and comes with fries. This place is only there to rob from the well off inhabitants of the zip code in which it resides.

Very good subs! A "go back"!

Really disappointing. Having lived in Philly for years, these guys should change their name... Total injustice (regardless of spelling). We ordered 3 steaks, "buffalo bites" and onion rings. All of the steaks were overcooked and the sandwiches were under filled... All roll. For $8+ each... This was bad. To further disappoint, the buffalo bites, which anyone would associate as boneless wings, were actually chicken nuggets, of elementary school cafeteria quality, tossed in buffalo sauce. Onion rings were decent... All five of them at $1 each. Hopefully it was an off day... But we won't be ordering again anytime soon.

Cheesesteaks are very good! They need to make one bigger then the 8 inch . Will Def be returning for more

FANTASTIC every time!!! Always great energy and happy to see me! Are flexible and accommodating! Been tearing those chicken cheese steaks up with grilled onions provolone cheese since 1999! Best Team and Anchor of Severna Park! They're always consistent and right on point with perfection! They have NO equal.... When I get one of those CREAVINGS for JENOS. I MUST HAVE ONE Within the next few days. They are insatiable and only JENOs. Can fill it ! There's secrete marinade on that chicken to die for! You'll see it get borderline addictive. So happy they been here for all these years and still going strong! Downtown Annapolis needs you to bring a food truck!

A local favorite for a good reason, Jeno's steaks has been making the food for over 20+ years, and it's just as good as ever. Located off route 2 and accessible from the B & A trail, Jeno's serves up some of the best cheese steaks around! Devoted to their customer base, Jeno's has adopted some customer suggested subs. Local favorites like the, SCHUBACHA, a stacked high shredded rib-eye steak, grilled onions, layer's of their famous fries, dosed and topped off with old bay and shredded cheese. You also wouldn't have a full, Jeno's experience without their famous fries. Fresh hand cut Idaho Potatoes cooked in 100% peanut oil and their claim is a, "Taste of Ocean City just 2 Hours Closer," add cheese or gravy on the side. Or just keep them as is, and enjoy! Their menu includes a few other favorites: fried cheese sticks, onion rings, and chicken tenders. And if cheese steaks aren't your thing, you may find any of their other subs just as good. - Catering is available - Parking is out front with access to bike racks from trail - No public rest-rooms

Monday through Thursday for 9.95 you can get the Absolute Lunch Deal, which is a cheesesteak (steak or chicken), fries, and a can of soda. This is the best lunch deal in Anne Arundel County, if not Maryland. Their cheesesteaks and fries are out of this world! The owners are genuinely the nicest people I have met. Rudy always has a smile and always thanks you for your service. If you become a regular, he will ask for your opinion on changes. It is quite the nice hole in the wall. I simply love this place.
(5)Kristin H.
So disappointed... I've been coming here for about 2 years. When I first had them, they were amazing. The sub was perfection, the fries were amazing, and the service was great. I was surprised when I first had a bad experience. I ordered take out and when I got home I bit into the sub only to find a mouth full of sadness. The sub was bland and had barely any cheese. There was no flavor at all. For the money I spent, I expected my old Jenos. I hoped it was just a bad day but I had them 3 more times and it got more and more bland. The subs got smaller and the prices went up. I'm not sure what happened but it's on the downhill slope and Im done giving them chances.

I had a chance to try Jeno's Steaks when my employer arranged for some food trucks to visit our campus. They aren't a true food truck, but they have a portable set-up and they even brought a few picnic tables with them. They offer a variety of cheese steaks and chicken, and I think their open air grill really helps them out in selling their product. I opted for an 8th Wonder Cheese Steak, made with steak, bacon, onions, provolone, and a couple sauces. It came on a soft roll which I found perfect for a cheesesteak, as it wasn't too hard as to crumble everywhere and it was soft enough to soak up the juice without falling apart. The steak was tender and tasty and bacon makes everything better. However, I found the bleu cheese sauce to be fairly mild and I did not notice the buffalo sauce at all. It was tasty enough regardless, and I could go so far as to say it was great, but maybe not a Wonder. The crew is incredibly friendly and they make sure to acknowledge everyone waiting in line, so you really have to appreciate their acumen and professionalism.
(4)Steph P.
The thing is - the subs are really good in flavor, but not good enough for the price!!! I waited to write this review because I really wanted to give them a second chance. I paid about $10 for a sub - a light-on everything but the bread sub - and the bread is not a fresh in-house baked roll, so extremely disappointing. I also ordered a large fries for my husband ($5) and a side of cheese and gravy ($1.25/each I think) - the fries were practically kid size for $5!!!!We barely touched the dipping sauces in comparison! Jeno's - please pay attention to these reviews- they all say the same thing!! We want to love you as a local business but I can say for sure I won't be back until I see a more positive trend on yelp. I wanted to give you 2 stars, but bumped your review up since your a local business.

I was hoping to like my sandwich since they're entrepreneurial enough to employ young adults to man an extra stand away from home. Pleasant folks, and glad they use Square when working remotely. Wait was reasonable thanks to the expediter. Unfortunately, the almost-stale roll becomes obvious with a thinner bottom than top half, and a dry application to the grill doesn't improve the texture. Conservative length of sandwich for the price. Really wish the cheese fries had gotten a hit of salt when they came out of the fryer, and the gloop of cheddar melt between two layers of fries wasn't quite enough to get cheese on all of them. The only thing I especially liked about my Muddy Paw was the generous pile of steak sausage.
(2)Clarke S.
Good tasting subs, but less than impressive portions. For $12 dollars, I left hungry.. Better values can be found elsewhere.
(2)Eric B.
This place is almost as much historic value to Severna Park as Dawson's. their fries are slammin, one of my favorite sandwiches is the Muddy Paw, but nothing is less than delicious. Oh, and it's pronounced Jen O's!
(5)Charlie L.
Pricey, but excellent food. I had one of the customer favourites and it had cheese sauce onions fries and old bay. I would definitely recommend Jeno's to anyone.
(4)Chris S.
The food is good, but the value has taken a huge dive in the last few years. Prices keep going up and portions keep going down. I don't think I'll be back after this last weekend. Way to much money for the portions you get these days.
(2)Jason P.
We are Philadelphia natives, and have eaten cheesesteaks around the region and the country - Which my doctor says I have to stop. Now that we live in Severna Park, Jenos is our go to place for the cheesesteak fix. The meat is high quality, the veggies are fresh and crisp and the flavor is solid. The rolls are extremely fresh and soft and thoroughly enjoyable. When you combine them all you have a steak comparable to any you would get in Philly. The fries are amazing - quality potatoes and fried and seasoned to perfection. However, unless you get the weekday lunch special, their prices are a little high for the basic steak - and when you add the fries, the price really becomes hard to swallow. Considering it is a little hole-in-the-wall, it is hard to believe his costs are so high. Otherwise, this is a five star meal, and I enjoy it as often as i can.
(4)Chelsea Y.
The service here is very friendly and the owner is an extraordinary guy from the little I've talked to him here and there. I have to be 100% honest though, at 8-11 bucks for a smaller cheesesteak, I really had expected it be worth it. It just wasn't. Don't get me wrong, they seem to use quality ingredients, but the couple times I've stopped here I am always underwhelmed and like I've gotten swindled out of 10-20 bucks,
(3)Mike P.
Jeno's Steaks is the best cheesesteak I have had in Maryland. I recommend going during their lunch special because you get a wonderful cheesesteak, fries, and a can of soda for $9.95. My wife and I met Rudy the owner of Jeno's. He was kind, informative, and passionate about his business. Great experience.
(5)Eric V.
New menu - more expensive and smaller portion. I got a cheesesteak with no cheese for $11???
(2)Donna P.
The service was friendly and courteous. The sandwiches were way over priced. The taste was ok, nothing special. We got the Philly cheesesteak and the chicken.
(3)Erik S.
Went to this place because we got a coupon in the local mailer. It was unbelievably expensive even with the coupon. This was also one of the most horrifically bland and under seasoned sub I have ever had. Salt and pepper would have vastly improved the meat while cooking, basic kitchen skills here. Won't be back.
(2)Mike D.
Not sure what happened here, I hadnt been here in about a year or so, but remember very juicy oversized steaks, but 8 dollars for barely an 8 inch steak on a small bun seems a bit out of touch. Might as well go to Philly Flash, and i really don't like their steaks but at least you get a better value.
(2)Koren L.
I wish I could give a better review because they are awesome but .... everysingle time i order they NEVER get my order correct.. NEVER!1 so I had to stop going and the fries are awesome!! but I'm not going to pay hugh amounts of money up to 15.00+ for something that is NEVER right I even repeat my order to the person and they still NEVER get it right! even when I said something to management.. I go an I'm sorry .. that was it.. so I can't go back and found cheese steaks else were for cheeper and just as yummy!!

We didn't know this, but there aren't any tables at Jeno's-- carry out only. We didn't want to eat in the car, and it was too cold to sit out on the curb and chow down. So we put our bag of goods on the floor in front of the passenger seat, cranked the heat to 11, and booked it back home, hoping to enjoy hot-and-fresh cheese steaks. Well, our plan didn't work out that well, but the cheese steaks were still really good, even if they were only on the warm side. We stuck with the basic "provolone with" for our first visit to Jeno's, and enjoyed them. I thought they were a little on the small side for the price, but they were still satisfying. The fries were also good, but the mozzarella sticks... oh, man... they were *fantastic.* I don't think my wife and I will be sharing an order next time. The only annoyance, other than the lack of seating, is their prices seem to be all over the place. I think the website, takeout menu, and menu board all had a different price for a cheese steak. Not radically different, but still... in any case, it's the product the matters, and they've definitely got a winner. I've got a killer idea for the summer... I'm going to park across the street by Rita's, grab some grub from Jeno's, and have a cheese steak and Italian ice tailgate. It will be just like Philadelphia, but without the angry people. Who's with me?
(4)Allison L.
I'm sticking with the original rating; however, do have a quick update. Whatever you do DO NOT get the chicken cheesesteak!! It was absolutely flavorless and bland. I was incredibly disappointed and did not even finish it, I had to make myself something to eat after I threw it away. We do still go to Jeno's on occasion and I have had great luck with their normal cheeseteak with extra cheese sauce.
(3)Angel A.
Pretty good, fries are awesome! I like Ledo's Pizza for their cheesesteaks better, but they were good here!
(4)Heather W.
These cheese steaks are pretty good but I'm pretty upset by the amount of fat left on the steak that was chewy and not edible. I have a phobia about cheesesteaks being fatty and this one was pretty bad i had to spit something out every bite : /
(3)Matt P.
I've been coming here for more than 10 years. I now live 2,000 miles away and still think this is, without a doubt, the best cheesesteak. Period. It's not cool to say a place serves better cheesteaks than the big names in Philly, but here's why they do: It's not an attraction, it's not a brand, and it's not hype. Just cool people in a small shop that serve you a great sandwich every time. Add, subtract, substitute, whatever. If there's something you don't or do like, tell them and they'll make it right. Try that at the big places 100mi north.
(5)Bud F.
Too expensive and the quality has gone down exponentially. I'm on a budget and feel spending $9 for a 8 inch sub is not worth the trip. Quality cheesesteaks are hard to come by in Severna Park. If you head north towards Glen Burnie, Ann's has cheesesteaks that are pretty good if you are in the mood for one. It makes sense to double the meat on their cheesesteaks because they don't drill you on the price.
(2)Rocky L.
I love jeno 's steak they have the best cheese steaks and fries you can get in this state that I know of. The only down side is ths price its right around 16 dollars for a sub and fries but I still go there almost every Sunday so pleass try this place I love it.
(4)Rick S.
Heard great things about this place supposedly just like Philadelphia! Not even close, not good and quite frankly I would rather have a cheese steak from just about anywhere in Baltimore let alone Philadelphia as compared to this place. BIG disappointment and my suggestion is don't waste your time!
(1)Dave H.
Went for a cheesesteak for me and my wife. One with and one without onions. I cannot eat onions. After my order was taken, the woman at the register was engaged in a conversation with a guy who kept taking his shirt off and showing her something. The cook was involved in this also. Paid a lot. Got home, found tons of onions on both subs. I gave mine away to a friend who said it was "bone dry". My wife agreed that it was way overdone.
(1)Rachel B.
A local treasure, run by the hardest working family in Severna Park. A tiny hole in the wall that produces top quality cheesesteaks with outstanding customer service.
(5)Eddie S.
Not much else needs to be said about this place. Great staff + high quality product = great experience. It can be a bit difficult to find if you're not familiar with the area, but it's very much worth the effort. The ribeye is sliced fresh daily and is grilled to order (does not sit on the flat top for hours) and the bread is locally baked in Baltimore City. Best cheese steak that I've had in MD by far.
(4)Deb H.
Stopped by to pick up a quick dinner. The wonderful smell of onions frying on the grill got out mouths watering even before we ordered. My husband got the traditional Steak & Cheese with the works. I got the veggie with cheese x-tra hot peppers. We both agreed they were exceptionally good. Soft rolls, melted cheese, meat & veggies cooked to perfection. And then there are the fries . . . . . crispy outside .. soft in the center. We fought over the "fry crumbs" at the bottom of the cup. So good. Heading back soon!
(5)Jennifer R.
Awesome staff, delicious food! I wish I found Jeno's earlier. The fries are also great.
(5)J C.
I was born and raised in Philly. I know cheesesteaks, hoagies, subs, whatever. I've eaten at Philly's best and the rest. Let's face it . . . even Philly is not what it used to be. We have recently moved to SP and are desperate for some decent cheesesteack action. Jeno's does not provide it. Prices are much too high in proportion to the proportions . . . if you know what I mean? Quality is ok (Boss/Wife had the chicken cheesesteak). SMALL amounts of meat on the sandwiches. Place/grill is simply too clean to put out a good product. No passion for food shown. No life to the place. No life to the food. They do fill orders quickly AND they do manage to empty your wallet w/o using a gun. They can't even do that in Philly. Don't go hungry and don't go w/ an empty wallet. Meh
(2)Barry S.
I can't believe I am the "first reviewer" for what I consider the best cheesteak joint within 150 miles of Dalesandro's or Jim's in Philadelphia. Obviously, start "straight up" but move on to the Asian Persuasion and ultimately to my favorite -- the Man Sub. Great guys ... great food
(5)Greg I.
They'vs been around since the dawn of the dinosaurs, these two wielding combatants can swing a spatula like there's no tomorrow. It is the best of the best in Maryland and no one compares cause it's all about the meat and bun, without that you have nothing. There is also a wide variety of music you can listen to or if you are nice they might play your song! but remember to tip the chef ;) If you don't know what I'm talking about just take a nice scenic drive to Annapolis and when you get that hunger bite into one of those scrumptious subs and you'll know what I'm talking about. Keep it up! GO NAVY!
(5)Marissa D.
Awesome place! The owner is nice, and the cheesesteaks are tastey. Pictures of Jeno's fans adorn the walls. It is within walking distance of many other Mom-and-Pop shops and the B&A bike trail. What a great place to grab a good old-fashioned cheesesteak and remember when times weren't so fast-paced. (Not that the service isn't quick...it definitely is!)
(4)Nick G.
Great cheesesteak! I didn't quite know what to expect as I am visiting Maryland from San Diego and was looking for a good sandwich of any kind. Stumbled upon Jeno's on Yelp and decided to check it out. It's def a certified hole in the wall type of joint with independent ownership and great Philly cheesesteaks. I only say Philly because they use Cheezwiz which is the only way a Philly cheesesteak is a philly cheesesteak. I got the Man Sub which was amazing. Their menu is full of all sorts of concoctions involving rib eye, chicken, bacon and other delicious items. If you're in the area it is def a good spot to check out. And if your visiting, it's def a go-to move for good subs. Also, don't mind the yelp info saying its classy attire. It's def as casual as it gets. Overall 5 stars tho. Def check it out.
(5)Amanda Z.
We're new to SP and just recently visited Jeno's for the first time to pick up some cheese steaks. The chicken cheese steak was awesome. As everyone else says, it is a little pricey, but you can tell they use quality meats. Subs were a little on the small side, but we were definitely satisfied when we finished the subs and the awesome fries. Give it a try!
(4)Jonathan H.
A small, dingy place with an impressively large and varied menu and a small staff were both generally quite polite and happy to see me as a newcomer to their restaurant. The only downside was, the actual cheese-steak was just so-so. The meat was good, but not spectacular, and the amount of cheese and other condiments seemed rather skimpy. While it was likely a cut above most sub and pizza shops, it was not ground-breaking or revolutionary like the restaurant promises. (Also at about $10 a sub, it's not a bargain either.) Not bad, but not blown away.
(3)Eric H.
Jenos steaks is a great place to eat and a big part of the severna park community. I even worked there at one point and still eat there if that says anything. Even though I live in Nebraska now, I still get a steak there whenever I visit my parents (if you want a recommendation try the Asian persuasion). I hope this review cancels out the three star one about some girls phobia of fatty cheesesteaks, because that is just silly.
