This place is gorgeous inside! The service was very good, but there were not very many filled tables as we were here for brunch. I am very interested in trying their dinner options after checking over the menu, but breakfast does not seem to be their strong point. Eggs florentine was very oily and left the muffin soaked. I would ask for plain spinach rather than their garlic sautéed spinach on this dish. The monte cristo was good, but covered in way too much cinnamon for garnish.

I should've known to not have high expectations of an Italian restaurant that has a drive thru. I got the shrimp Parmesan for my meal. The shrimp were very large, but the sauce had way too much basil. For what I paid, I did receive a very large portion. I also ordered a cannoli, which was a huge disappointment. The filling was only on the ends and the shell was soft. Any Italian knows that you fill cannolis to order so the shell stays crunchy. I probably wouldn't recommend this place to a friend.

We have ordered take out from here twice without realizing there was a $30 minimum (ridiculous). We go to order today and before we even finish our first selection, we were informed of this. We stated that no, we were not aware because both times we ordered it totaled less and was delivered and we didn't notice the $30 minimun stated on the menu. We were nice about it and would have ordered more, but, the woman on the phone basically called us a liar, without using the word. So, phone got hung up and menu in the trash. $30 minimum, plus the 15%, driver tip, and tax. So $40 to order breakfast. The food is no where near worth that. We just had a baby and the breakfast at the hospital was better and we only wanted to order here for delivery. Never again.

Don't know where they get their price range but 6 of us went to dinner and without alcohol. the bill was over 225. Was it worth it? not really the food was "B-" quality. the staff was nice.

I've had cheese steaks there before and they've been fine. The fries suck. Tonight I ordered a pizza. I'd been better off at 7-11. Clearly just a frozen pizza.

I read the review in the June issue of Baltimore Magazine. It was absolutely glowing! I couldn't wait for an excuse to go. We stopped for a late lunch on a Saturday. A pleasant surprise to see the beautiful dining room, the dressed up waiters,, and the nicely appointed tables. The menu was huge. I settled on a crab cake sandwich with lettuce and tomato on a roll with mayo on the side. My husband ordered a BLT on toast with mayo. Our waiter could not have been nicer. That did not make up for the kitchen problems. My husband's bread was not toasted. There was no mayonnaise on his sandwich. He was able to use the mayo that was brought for my use. I had to remove the two ashen tomato slices on my sandwich. I see no reason to serve hothouse tomatoes in Maryland when vine-ripened are available all year if you can't get local. The crab cake was not edible. It was almost all filler. This is not the place to go for a gourmet dinner.

Our dinner for a party of 4 was a very pleasant surprise !!! Everybody enjoyed their meal. Dessert and service were both delightful. The decor was welcoming and the staff was charming without being insincere.

My wife had the crab cakes and said it was some of the best she's had in the area. I had a teriyaki chicken salad and it was just mediocre. Service was outstanding. I agree with most people here about service being above average. It's a decent experience for an average restaurant. I also agree that their menu could be trimmed down a couple pages and the quality of the food increased. I would definitely come here again.

My boyfriend and I stopped here on our road trip home from Florida. Aside from having to settle for a bad motel in the Rosedale area (but that's another review) this restaurant seemed to be the only gig in town, and the parking lot was packed. We were fast to learn why. First of all, their menu has everything. No, really. I've never seen a more complete and diverse menu anywhere. The place was spotless, and the staff were always on the floor, always working, and super friendly from the busser to the manager. My boyfriend did not like his pasta dish. There was nothing wrong with it and quite tasty, but it was not what he personally was expecting. The server insisted on giving him a free dessert to compensate for it, so he chose the cannoli, well, she brought 2, so I also got a free cannoli, which was fresh and crispy. The manager was always on the floor helping his staff pre-buss, and checking on each table. When he approached us, we complimented him on the fantastic food and service. If we're ever in the Baltimore area again, we are definitely stopping back in. It's so refreshing to find a comfortable, attentive restaurant after you're on the road for 2 days.

If you love REAL traditional Italian cooking you're in for a major disappointment here. I'm not a gourmet by any stretch of the imagination, but I do cook and appreciate a well prepared meal. That said, the atmosphere is pleasant, the menu HUGE, but the service was anything but good. The wife and I visited Rosario's a week after opening, if you're not familiar with the place it's owned by the same family that owns Valentino's on Harford Rd. When we arrived we ordered wine and were told that the selection wasn't available, the waitress knew nothing of the wine selections and their character so we scrapped that idea. We ordered the fried calamari as an appetizer and the wife ordered Veal Parm. and I ordered the spagetti carbonarra. The calamari arrived crispy and golden, it was great. Next to arrive were our salads, nothing to write home about, slashed lettuce with no creativity or effort, and the Italian dressing is a creamy dreck. When the main course arrived my wife's veal looked like shoe leather and tasted every bit the part. The veal itself was tough and overcooked, fried to the point where the flour took on the appearance of a hard shell. The carbonnara was a joke. Consisting of alfredo sauce and chunks of bacon......this is NOT carbonnara. News flash Rosario chef's......carbonarra is made with EGGS, and there wasn't an egg in sight in this dish. It's also a dish individually prepared. This dish was a mass produced low-rent version that any italian worth their vino wouid cringe at. We complained to the manager and she admitted that the veal wasn't "up to par" and that yes the carbonnara was just their alfredo sauce..... If you like real italian food don't bother, but if your pallet leans toward McDonald's then you should love this place. A suggestion to the owner, reduce the size of your menu and instead of creating mass production cast-offs that look like Chef Boy-R-Dee teach your "chefs" how to make a few things well.

I'm surprised by the low ratings on here. We passed this place one day, but forgot about it. While trying to find a new non-chain restaurant to visit, this popped up on another website as the #2 place to visit in Overlea. I was a little concerned about the area, even though, admittedly, we live only ten minutes away. I was also concerned because it was stated on here that they add 15% gratuity onto every check, so we suspected the service would probably be below par. Neither was an issue. We went on a Wednesday evening and we were greeted and seated right away. There was only one other couple in the restaurant. I was not overly impressed with their amount of vegetarian selections, but they do have a lot more than most other restaurants. I ordered the garden vegetable pasta, which was quite good. The sauce was a little bland, but the veggies were overflowing. Green and red peppers, broccoli, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, zucchini, and yellow squash were all included. Definitely one of the most generous vegetable pastas I've had as far as the veggies go. My husband ordered the gyro and really liked it. Our waiter was very attentive. At the end, we were surprised to find out you get a free mini dessert. With the free breadsticks and dipping sauce beforehand, we felt like we were on a cruise with our three courses! The mini dessert was just the right amount for us and the whipped cream was amazing. The 15% tip was less than we would normally tip, so we tipped extra. They also have a rule that separate checks must pre-pay. We assume this is to keep people from splitting up and walking out, which I think is understandable. We'll definitely be returning here!

Perfection! I love a fancy feeling restaurant that is not bougie. I had heard good things about the establishment but am so happy to have experienced it first hand. We went after church for Easter dinner. It was 5 of us and everyone got some bring different. We all loved our food and was unable to finish it other than my husband whom got the roasted chicken and fries. I was way to lingual from half/half crab soup, crab dip appetizer and side salad to even try to dog into my surf and turf entree. The breadsticks they give are also good and filling, be warned. Me and the kids shared a huge piece of oreo cheesecake which is definitely meant for at least two people. The bill was reasonably priced for all we got and I want to try other items on the menu. I am a terrible carboholic and am happy to see they have a lot of non-pasta dishes. The service is swift, polite and thorough. I highly suggest this restaurant.

Writing review based on breakfast meal. Had the Rosario omelette, home fries, and toast. Decent but nothing to write home about. Bordering on bland. Breadsticks they brought out before the meal were soft and moist. I wouldn't say they were high in flavor, but I enjoyed them. Service was attentive. Wouldn't recommend this restaurant but if I did I would advise you not to have high expectations. Food is decent/edible.

Awful. Had reservations for Mother's Day and when we arrived they gave our seats to another group. We were to be seated at 2 and finally seated at 2:30. Our waiter ended up walking out as he was overwhelmed and as of 3:30 we only had drinks. By the time our food arrived it was almost 4pm! The food was ok but nothing to be wowed about. Service was awful.

Not at all what I was expecting! A++++++ on customer service, A++++++++ on attentive waitstaff. This place was so much more than I thought! Everone was so friendly and wanted our dining experience to be great! Food needs a little work. Of 3 of us, 2 thought their dinner was sub-par; eggplant special--the eggplant was great, breaded but not too much, but served with spaghetti instead of penne (which was a major disappointment). The pasta was slightly overcooked and they forgot the anchovies. The waiter and the manager were absolutely on this! They immediately brought replacement entrees, offered a glass of wine on the house. They couldn't have been nicer and more interested in making things right. The 3rd entree was the special crab artichoke heart spahetti which was pretty good. The servings are huge! The Thai calamari appetizer was to die for delicious and the dessert tray looked amazing but we were in a hurry. All in all, we will go back! Things that were wrong could have been just a fluke so I believe they deserve another chance.

First visit, no greetings by host or waiter. Waiter appears to be tired or not friendly. Flys are every on the food. French Toast was extremely soggy....this place was not friendly on Father's day. The food was NOT good. I do not recommend.

I have ordered delivery from here twice now and I doubt I will do it again. While the food is fine, the service is abysmal. Each time I have called, it has taken a very long time to place my order because the person taking my order struggled to take my information correctly. I had to repeat myself many times (my name, phone number, address, etc.). The second time I ordered from there, the man taking my order put down the phone without asking me to hold and another man picked up asking me to start over with my information. I can order decent food from many other places in the area without the hassle.

Decor is beautiful! The menu does warn that 15% gratituty will be added to EVERY check regardless of the size of your party. I personally don't mind but I'm sure some people might. Menu has a decent amount of selection. Good place to try for date night.

The menu offers a broad spectrum of food that is priced well. It's a nice restaurant in an unusual area. Excellent service coupled with delicous food at a good price. No complaints here.

We were in the neighborhood and remembered that Rosario's serves breakfast. Well, it was a wonderful experience. The food was good - really big pancakes and eggs and breakfast meats cooked the way we ordered them. Jessica was our server and she was friendly and efficient. We were greeted warmly when we arrived and upon leaving. Very pleasant breakfast experience.

Service is good foods just ok, I feel like the menu is to big to concentrate the attention needed for a great meal. So it's diner food in a restaurant setting

I ate here last night with a group of friends, though the manager was nice and the staff friendly, the food was below average. The breadsticks were given with a saucer of what tasted like straight out of a can tomato sauce and alittle of parm. cheese, which still gave it absolutely no flavor. I ordered a pepsi and seafood club (menu stated shrimp salad and crabcake on a club sandwich). Though the staff was polite and had to keep getting our table replacements. I was given a diet pepsi instead of regular pepsi. The club had a nice shrimp salad on it, but no crabmeat. When she took it back, a few pieces of crab was added to the club. The online menu did say shrimp salad and crabmeat pieces, even though the menu said crabcake. The prices were about $20-$25 for most entrees and definitely not worth it. This restaurant is more into trying to serve over 100 different items on the menu, but none are done well. Next time I'll go to Olive Garden or a REAL Italian restaurant.

My husband and I stopped here for dinner and really enjoyed the whole experience. This place seems to pride itself on customer service. We were greeted at the door by several staff and were immediately seated. The waitress was very friendly and attentive throughout our meal. One of the reasons I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because we found the menu to be overwhelming with the number of choices. Eventually, I ordered the stuffed shells and added a side salad (which was only an additional $0.99). My husband ordered the lasagna and also added a side salad. While we waited for our food, the waitress brought us some bread sticks and marinara sauce. My husband, who doesn't normally like marinara sauce, actually liked the sauce and I agreed that it was really good. Our salads came out quickly and were of good size. The lettuce was fresh and the dressings had good flavor. Our entrees came out surprisingly fast as we were only half way through our salads. They both looked and tasted delicious. The second reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because my shells were warm but not hot. Since our meals were so large, we had to get some to-go boxes and were offered a fresh order of bread sticks to take home with our leftovers. Following our meals, we were served a complimentary plate of fruit that had a few gapes, a slice of honeydew, and a slice of cantaloupe all drizzled with honey. It was very refreshing. Upon leaving, we were told by several staff to have a nice day and the host held the door for us. Overall, we had a really great experience and will return the next time we're in the area.

Disgusting. I've had better food in a frozen bouquet tv dinner. My stuffed shells were premade frozen packaged shells at best. And my husband got meatloaf that looked like a car tire. Completely disgusted. We will never return.

Okay, to be fair the support staff who sit you down and bring you water and alleged "bread sticks" were great, however, our waiter/waitress never came and we sat for fifteen minutes without being acknowledge so, we decided to leave. Awful experience, will never return.

I'm too weak from FOOD POISONING to write a full review. Without getting into too many queasy details, I've narrowed it down to the calamari. I went with a friend and the only common dish we had was calamari. So either the calamari was bad, or everything was bad because both of us got SICK, SICK, SICK.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
