Chicken on the Ranch Sandwich $12 (4/5 NOMs) You can never go wrong with bacon and avocado. I defiantly liked the addition of their special BBQ ranch dressing on top. Comes on a nice wheat roll with light flavor that does not overpower all the toppings. Good balance of gooey toppings. This is on my order again list for sure for next time. The Hulk It's Here! Sandwich $11 (3/5 NOMs). Hulk smash, because of such of fun name I just had to order and say "hulk nom" with every bite. Its big size does require hulk size mouth or some jaw hinging. With such a fun name and so much crazy meaty stuff, I thought this will be a very nomnom sandwich. Sadly it wasn't a hulk smash nom. I was just expecting so much more because of the name. Could be that rye bread has too much flavor was fighting with the rest of the sandwich. Don't think I will be ordering this one again.

Just visited Bean Bag Deli after reading (mostly) very positive reviews. The first thing I noticed is that the atmosphere inside isn't as impressive as I expected. Very cluttered and less than ideal for dining in. The owner (presumably) was friendly, which was a plus. I ordered a sandwich, and muffin, and 2 chocolate chip cookies. When he rang it up and said $21.57 (or thereabouts, I'm sure I inadvertently made a face. Even if I was in NYC or San Fran, that's steep for a sandwich, a muffin, and 2 cookies. But I figured if it was fabulous food, I'd be willing to occasionally make the trek and pay the extra dough. The sandwich was enormous (too thick to actually bite), but it was just okay (I prefer good sub rolls). The cookies were okay, and the muffin was a tad less than okay. My impression was that all of it was, at the very least, from the day before. With bread and baked goods, particularly at those prices, I expected something that had been made or delivered that morning, and it clearly wasn't. It was all decent or a tad below decent, and I'd be inclined to rate the whole experience 3 stars, but because of the prices, I'd have to rate it as a 2-star deli.

Me and my girl went here for breakfast a few weeks back after I had become enamored with the idea of checking it out, what with all of the stellar Yelp reviews and all. Me being a sandwich kind of guy, we decided to give it a shot. The place is kind of small and not very clean, but this was really a non-issue. The staff was also incredibly friendly which was delightful. The morning was frigid and it was early so we went with breakfast, and boy was that a tremendous mistake. Long story short, the coffee was alright but the egg sandwich my girl ordered was so bad I had to finish it for her; I only obliged her request because I was that hungry. The egg and cheese biscuit I got was microwaved and, I kid you not, MY EGGS WERE GREEN. A green hue and strange smell but again, I ate it anyway. I didn't get sick but overall the food was awful. It also took 10 minutes for us to get our food, not sure why. I fail to understand these high reviews because I refuse to believe the putrid, green, microwaved eggs we received were unique of the quality food served all day long. Sure, why get breakfast from a sandwich place? Because as a food joint that offers breakfast, you'd figure that would be good too. Awful. The prices are also too high for what you're getting to begin with, even with average quality. Never again.

I am amazed at the good reviews for this place. I found it dirty and disorganized. My salad was composed of VERY far from fresh ingredients -- and no onions available -- by a person who gave me the impression she didn't want to be there. I was ravenous when I walked in, but threw out half the (seriously over-priced) salad as inedible. Big mistake....

The Bean Bag is a deli company on East Gude Drive. They're located right where the Quiznos Subs, Dominoes Pizza and the Korean restaurant, Jon Won, is. There's limited parking but since the busy time is lunch, people are just going in and out, so it's not a problem waiting for a spot to open up. You can park fairly quickly. The Bean Bag has a pretty good selection of deli sandwiches. I've had their Bean Bag Sub (equivalent to the italian sub) and I just got their Gerri's Delight today. Both were very good, meat is fresh, breads are soft and everything is just awesome. The Bean Bag gives it their own twist to classic sandwiches but you can always get a custom sandwich. They come in two sizes, the beanie and the big bean. The beanie is sufficient enough! The beanie is I think, around 8" or something. the big bean, I haven't seen it yet, but I imagine it's a foot or something. On their website, they said that the beanie can hold about 1/4lb of meats whereas the big bean can hold 1/2lbs. Today I got their Gerri's Delight on multigrain brain. It's a triple decker with ham, turkey, cheese, mustard, lettuce and tomatoes. I asked to have onions and hot peppers added. The sandwich was really good. I couldn't finish everything because it's huge, it's a triple decker. I also added the picture. I also got the lentil soup. I asked to get a sample of it first and it was really good, so I ordered a small cup of lentil soup with my sandwich. The total came to be a little over $11. The sandwich was about $7. For a deli, I guess the price is about right. It's a little more than I like but whenever I go to a deli store, I always have to remind myself that it's not a Subway (price and quality wise). You can also get salads here. They offer the option to make your own chop salad. You just use the checklist of whatever you want in it, which is pretty neat. They also have a great selection of cookies!! My co-worker got them last time and she said it was really good. I haven't gotten any yet, but I plan to next time. I gave it 4 stars because it's not really somewhere you want to dine in. They have tables available but it's pretty messy in there with just having a lot of crap around. I know they do catering, so maybe thats what all the stuff is for. Every time I've been in there, there were only 1-2 people actually sitting down and eating. They seem to have regulars who go there often. Everyone's super friendly. I would say I like this place better than Gude Deli. (if you read my earlier posts, I wrote one on Gude Deli. I remember their food to be very mayonnaise-y). I just know that their sandwiches aren't up to par. If I want something more than Subway, then I would go to The Bean Bag. Also, they close pretty early--3pm. Money must be GOOD!

So glad this is right down the street from my office. While it's not the New York style sandwich I was dreaming of, it's darn close for Rockville, MD! This isn't a cheap sandwich place though, if you want something cheap and under $5 go to Subway or Quiznos. This is not that kind of place. These are BETTER! I ordered the Bean Bag Club which is roasted turkey, multi-grain toast, bacon, mayo, lettuce, tomato with avocado and swiss added on for an additional fee. I also ordered the "Big Bean" size which is like 1/2 pounds of meat and toppings. I had to go all out for my first visit. And my sandwich was about $12 - $13. Pricey but well worth it when craving meat meat meat. The pastrami and corned beef sandwiches look delish and are next on my "to order" list. The cookies ALSO look amazing and also next on my list! I went in to pick up after placing a group order for my office. The owner was extremely sweet and helpful in getting our orders processed. She let us know about catering and delivery when ordering 24 hours in advance. I liked this place. Best sandwich place in the area and look forward to coming back and trying out the other huge sandwiches.

so choice for lunch... generously large and quality sandwiches. Wish they were open on the weekends but hey what can ya do. If you've never been, it's at least a "must try" for anyone living in the area.

The sandwiches are very good. And huge. On days i know I'm going to be running around I get the big bean of anything, and its two meals. The meats and cheese taste top quality, and the bread is amazing. Im a big fan of the Bethesda and the Gerri. Both are triple deckers. The sauces they use are very good on the sandwiches, and they are good to follow directions if you ask for more or less of anything on the sammich. The roast coffee is also of good quality. I've had the french roast, and the rainforest and both are deep and rich. This has been a welcome addition to the Rockville area for lunches. The service is fast and friendly and the cookies are excellent. The chocolate chip have just enough cookie to hold all the chocolate pieces together. Be warned if you have fillings, this cookie, though awesome, will hurt your teeth. But this is a good thing. They would get 5 stars, but only get four because, though I love the sammiches, I feel they are a little pricey for a sammich. Thanks guys. keep it up.

Could a deli be more overpriced? Good food but what the hell? The sandwiches are really good but for that price it's really not worth it. Everything in there is overpriced.

Every time I have lunch at The Bean Bag, I am super impressed. I don't usually get salads when I go to delis, but I almost always get one of the build-it-yourself salads here. The greens and veggies are ALWAYS fresh, and the carrot ginger dressing is delicious! Although I wish they had some more veggie sandwich options, the vegetarian chili and soups are fantastic (I think the eggplant soup is my favorite!) .The coffee and cookies are good too! The folks who work the counter when I go in during lunch are so incredibly friendly, patient, and helpful - I get the impression that they are the owners! I really enjoy treating myself to The Bean Bag on Friday afternoons. Awesome.

Best steak and cheese I have ever had. Cookies are fantastic, home brewed apricot tea is awesome. Love this place

The iced coffee I had here was some of the best I've had, and my dining partner's mocha was also very good. I loved the multi-grain bread my breakfast sandwich was on, although bagels from Bethesda Bagels are also an option. However, as someone who has been trying to de-clutter my home and life, I felt rather claustrophobic while here. It's not really a place I'd want to sit and enjoy a leisurely cup of coffee. I know that the Bean Bag does a lot of catering, but it's too bad that they have to store items in the same area that is meant for customer seating, as it's just not inviting at all.

Love, love, love this place! They have the most amazing chocolate chip cookies I have ever tasted :) The prices are decent and the service is great. Robyn is especially wonderful. The atmosphere is fun and friendly. I get a salad from here about once a week, and my collegue gets a beanie! We both love Bean Bag!

Mitchell/ The Bean Bag catered my daughter's bat mitzvah and I cannot rave enough. From beginning to end, Mitchell listened, understood, calmed my often jittery nerves and gave me the confidence that day-of would be exactly what we wanted. And he was right. The food was amazing. Just delicious. The presentation was lovely. But for every amazing compliment I can give about taste and visuals... I cannot even begin to say what a PLEASURE it was to work with this team Just beyond BEYOND. And- all for a very very very reasonable price. If I tried to find something to complain about (why would I?) I couldn't. PERFECTLY PERFECT. YAY BEAN BAG!!

I had the turkey club sandwich and it was good! I don't think it was better than other club sandwiches I've had, though. The bread was fresh and the turkey was really tasty. The best part was that the bacon was perfectly cooked. But again, it wasn't different from other club sandwiches I've had from other nice delis, like Woodside Deli. The portions are generous, as others have noted, but the prices reflect the size. It might actually be a little overpriced, in my opinion. I'd go back if I were in the area, but wouldn't go out of my way just for this.

I can't believe I haven't been here before; awesome little Deli on Gude. Inside seems a little cluttered but it has a comfy feel to it. The Deli sells sandwiches, hot dogs, coffee, drinks, and variety of other things. The guy behind the counter was very friendly. I had the West coast sandwich, which comes with turkey and guacamole on multigrain with mustard, lettuce, tomato, and sprouts. Ingredients were fresh and It was a decent size portion, although I feel like a little pricy for its size. Parking here could be a hassle if it's too crowded, but I could see most people just getting it to go, so it's not really an issue. I would recommend this place, and be back to try their other sandwiches.

We used Bean Bag to cater a brunch to celebrate my parent's birthdays. From the time I contacted Mitch to the end of the party everything was perfect. Mitch created a menu of made to order omelets, waffles, bagels, lox and other delicious food. Everyone that worked in our home was professional and courteous. We could not have asked for anything more. I would recommend bean bag to anyone wanting a wonderful catered party. We were guests at our own party.

I just had the roast beef and brie. Fantastic. Very friendly and helpful service. It's out of the way, but it's hard to find decent lunch options on Gude so this is perfect. The decor could use a little work, so I probably wouldn't hang out here, but it's great for take out.

Thought I have to try out this place for lunch. Walk in and found the place to be average in size with few tables. I could see all the ingredients are fresh behind the counter, with stack of full leaf of lettuce, not chopped. They have a good selection of sandwiches, your standards and their specials. The menu was very clear explaining what each one is. I got the Big Bean West Coast with turkey and guacamole on multigrain bread. Interesting their special mustard tasted like....wasabi, which I had no problem with. The meat portion was huge and everything was fresh and quite good. I gobble it down with no problem. But if you think about it, a sandwich for one person cost $10? I think is kind of pricy in today's economy. But it was good. I'm not sure what the portion is like for the Beanie size, something to try next time.

Really yummy sandwiches...exactly how we would make them at home. Which is why I can't say we love the place...there was nothing different as such, just good classic combinations. We bought the living social coupon ($15 for $30 of food) and left with two sandwiches and 4 cookies. That shouldn't cost $30. Now, they were very generous with the meat (so much so that I actually took out half my roast beef and reserved it for a homemade sandwich). The cookies were delicious and HUGE, but still averaged to about $3 a cookie. I'm glad we tried the place, but I definitely would never have gone without that coupon!

I am so happy The Bean Bag has moved to Rockville! I just went there for a couple of sandwiches today and really enjoyed the atmosphere and just talking to the 2 guys working there. First, the food. I got the Miami Beach Special which had corned beef, pastrami, cole slaw and Russian dressing on Rye. It was delish and nicely sized too without having an overwhelming amount of meat. My bf got the Gerri's Delight which was a triple decker of turkey, ham, havarti cheese on rye and he seemed to thoroughly enjoy it as well. We also got a choco chip and oatmeal raisin cookie and there are pretty darn good. It seems as if these cookies are a specialty there and for good reason. Thick and chewy in the middle. They also have soup, salads, regular deli faves, gourmet sandwiches, coffee and a few breakfast items like bagel sandwiches, egg sandwiches and muffins. I was super sysed to see they served whitefish salad and plan to get it on a bagel for breakfast sometime very very soon. Most of their specialty sandwiches have some kind of turkey/roast beef/pastrami/corned beef/ham combo. They even have one called The Swedish Treat that has lingonberries on it. Interesting. The decor of the cafe is cluttered but organized. They have lots of tables including a couple outside and they have lots of various chips to choose from including wasabi peas and soy crackers. Kindy of kitschy but cute. The guys working were very nice and told me how they moved here from Bethesda bc of their increasing catering jobs and the need for more space. I am beyond happy that they've moved to this location which is within 5 minutes of where I live! Yippee!!

Amazing sandwich today "the Bethesdan"...I'm already raving about it to others...Three layers deep and full of flavor...I'll be back for sure! Great cappuccino, biscotti and company too! Make sure to stop by their new spot on East Gude drive...

Omg! just had the best sandwich here for lunch and I just had to give props to them on yelp. I had the New Yorker beanie which has like mountain of corned Beef, Pastrami, swiss, really good coleslaw(and I don't even like slaw) on Rye with Russian dressing, lettuce, tomato. Beanie is supposed to be small size but it's a lot of food. I also got large iced coffee which was big gulp size large. The place reminds me of a small laid back family run shop somewhere in Florida. There isn't much place to sit thou if you are looking to sit down and have lunch. It's close to my work so def will be back for more!

Cute little coffee and sammich shop. Small and cramped with some seats inside and communal ones outside shared by a couple of delis. I had a stong cup of java and one of their home made blueberry muffins, shaped like a mini bread loaf. Not enough berries and too sweet, but still, far better than 95% you will eat. Today I stopped by and had one of their home made chocolate chip cookies, sold by weight. Sweet, full of chips - sweet. Gimme 2, please.!

Delicious, enormous, a bit on the expensive side but worth it sandwiches. Like other reviewers, I've never had the coffee here, but despite the impression you might get from the shop's name, I don't think it's really their speciality. I have heard good second-hand things about their catering. The service often comes across to me as apathetic, but hey, I'm there for the delicious food. My only really bad experience in that regard was when I once came to the store two minutes before the closing time--just to quickly purchase a cookie--but was brusquely sent away. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and just assume it was a long day or that they were in a rush to get to a catering gig. Plan to get your food to go. There's not really a comfortable place to eat there or in the surrounding shopping area, but Cabin John is a nice place to picnic just down the road.

Enjoyed a delicious cookie, lentil soup & cappuccino at this hidden away gem. I found out that they do catering which was one of the reasons I hunted down the manager Robyn here. She was very helpful and answered all my questions. More than being helpful, their food is just so good. FYI, the Rueben on their Sandwich selection and the Pumpkin bisque sounds like heaven. Even though I didn't get a chance to try those today, I am definitely coming back for that.

Elinor L.
Huge sandwiches and friendly staff!! Perfect for a quick bite. I would recommend getting just the beanie because it was more than enough (unless you like your sandwiches loaded with at least half a pound of meat and toppings then get the big beanie). I got the chicken salad sandwich since I wanted to try their no-mayo recipe. Instead, it had balsamic vinaigrette and sun dried tomatoes. It was very good!
(5)
Rejena C.
Great selection of different breads, wraps, meats, veggies and cheese to combine and make sandwiches. The workers are always friendly and funny, and usually remember "regulars" orders. I highly recommend their rye bread - SO good. My mom works near this place and we come here very frequently.

This is our go to place for lunch, but I think their prices area bit overpriced. Perhaps they can add a meal combo with chips and drink to lower the price a bit. I guess you get what you pay for because the food here is so good! Their corned beef and pastrami sandwiches are fantastic (New Yorker), as is the West Coast sandwich. Their cookies are so darn good. One of the best cookies I've eaten. The Beanie is the smaller sandwich size and Big Beanie has so much delicious meat. (I think almost half pound). I would eat here for lunch every day if I could afford it (about $14 for lunch for one Beanie sandwich, chips, drink, and one cookie). Haven't tried their breakfast items yet.

The owner of the hidden gem is the nicest, most accommodating gentleman! My fiance and I planned an outdoor cocktail hour for our wedding and were going to use patio furniture. The day before, the weather forecast turned to thunderstorms and we needed to find cocktail tables ASAP to use indoors. With extremely short notice and very few questions asked, the owner had our tables and linens ready for pick up before we arrived. We got there with enough time to grab a bite to eat and the food is even better than the service! My fiance's sandwich was loadedd with meat and toppings but wasn't messy or falling apart. Seeing as it was the day before my wedding, got the Greek salad which was delicious and the big! The dressing was superb!

small parking area for the stores on the strip but i think it's enough spots. went on friday around 11am and stayed til 230 (almost til closing) parking did not seem to be an issue when i looked outside the store. there was a good rush of people coming in and ordering lunch. the whole staff is awesome! super friendly and helpful. i remember my friend who use to work around this area told me about a good sandwich place and pointed out that it was near the korean restaurant he said everything he tried was good. i got the steak and cheese and honestly thought it was okay. in my opinion the bread was a little too soft and since it was too soft i think it would have been a lot better to toast the bread. i did like the jalapenos or hot peppers on the sub :) the bean size was more than enough. i ate half and gave the other half to my mom. my friend got the miami beach sandwich? it was huge! lots and lots of meat! looked good. i definitely want to try it again.

A hidden gem of incredible deli creations! The sandwiches are built for dinosaurs and usually require a band of strongmen to finish. Amazing portions without breaking the bank, and some of the best coffee I've had in town. I've you frequently drive down East Gude, forget Starbucks and make a pit stop at Bean Bag! Fresh soups of the day, bagel chips, hot dogs, salads, and more. It's a place that you MUST visit more than once to appreciate their greatness. Recommendations: -chicken on the ranch -Chicago hot dog -the Georgetowner -any of their salads (must be a Brontosaurus to finish)
(5)
Ser N.
You need a big mouth to eat here! First time ordering from here (carryout). Got the Georgetowner and a chocolate chip cookie. I had no idea the sandwich was a triple decker, and could only consume half for lunch (and that was pushing it). Delicious, fresh sandwich and the cookie will definitely ensure that I come back! Very friendly staff who greets you when you enter. Nice job, Bean Bag!
(5)
Nikki W.
Great sandwich and so efficient! Was in a rush and was in and out in about 5 minutes! Love the sizes they have, as a woman I don't really want a sandwich that will take me three meals to finish and the beanie was a great (filling) size.

Chocolate Chip cookies are out of this World!!! Can rival any out there!! Pricey( about $9/lb.) but worth every penny!!!

Came here after lunch for something to drink with our desserts and found a nice selection of beverages. We got and iced chai tea latte and iced cappuccino. Both were good, but I'd return for the service, too. Area is small, the flat screen TV's were set to the World Cup games, which added to the cozy, homey feel of the place.

We got the Robyn's Choice and Bethesdan sandwiches which were quite good. They were well made also, didn't fall apart in your hands. Gotta try the chocolate chip cookies, they are absolutely delicious. We got a latte as well, but it was ok, definitely have had better.

A hidden gem in Rockville. It's hard to see driving by, because it's in such a small plaza. But def worth a try. I've gotten the Bethesdan (well worth) and a pastrami sub, both beanie size (their small). Even though I get small size, it's still able to fill me up very well. Friendly staff, and divey atmosphere. Never a long wait, so def coming back!
What once was Soups On is now the new location of The Bean Bag, what was once a Bethesda eatery. Standard deli fare with soups, sandwiches, hot dogs, and coffee. Eggplant zucchini soup was delicious and came with some tasty bagel chips. $4.99 for a small plastic take-out container of soup though - a little bit much for ok soup.

I had been searching for a place with some really good, fresh roasted coffee and I came to the right place! You can't get this at Starbucks. Let's be honest, they are in the coffee drink business, not in the roasting business. By the time the beans reach the store they aren't as fresh as what you can get at the Bean Bag. I had a nice conversation with Mitchell who runs it. Very nice guy and really knows his stuff. I purchased a 1/2 pound of the organic Rain Forest Blend, and man, it's so good. As soon as you see how beautiful and oily the beans are, you will know immediately that they are going to be delicious in your cup. If you like quality coffee like I do, then you will understand my excitement to come home and try something new. Sure enough, they lived up to my expectations. I'm happy to have somewhere to get my freshly roasted coffee beans that is only 5 minutes from my house. And by the way, they close at 3pm, not 4 or 5 like the original review states.

Great place in this shopping center. The sandwich was really good, but a little too expensive for me to go there every day. I bought some coffee for home, which was also pretty good. The staff are really nice.

As I sit here and yelp about The Bean Bag, the aroma of fresh whole bean coffees attacks my senses. I love the variety of beans they have here. I bought bags of beans for Christmas presents for friends, since everyone I know has different tastes. Their Bean Bag blend is wonderful. My sister-in law liked the Costa Rican blend I got for her. I am a tea drinker myself, and like the options for loose teas they carry. The place itself is cramped, with a few tables inside and out. It is hard to move around inside near the tea barrels, and the prices are high up on the wall. I've never eaten a meal here, but they have a huge selection of subs and sandwiches to choose from. Their chocolate chip cookies are good. If you are in the neighborhood, stop by. Your nose will thank you.

After chowing down at Hamburger Hamlet, my cool mil and I wanted a little coffee for the road. I told her to head to the car and I would wander around and find us some to-go joe! What luck! I turn the corner and there was the Bean Bag. It was small inside but I was on a coffee mission and didn't care. They had some cute old cash registers and random things from generations past according to the owners. I overheard the cashier mention something about cookies to another customer and my eyes immediately went to these heavenly mounds of comforting goodness. Oh my! I ordered two coffees with two oatmeal raisin cookies and two chocolate chip. The coffee was very good but the cookies!, oh the cookies were better than I could have hoped. They were still warm and soft, just delicious. Mil was very happy on the ride home, and so was I. Her favorite was the chocolate chip; mine was the oatmeal. mmmm either one is a winner. I can't wait to go back for a sandwich. They looked huge!

I go here every morning before work to get a bagel with cream cheese which they make fresh daily. They're delicious! The staff is also always so nice and attentive. Two of the employees are the son and daughter of the original founders, its a true family business. Although I can't give much insight on other menu items, I go in very early, right when they open, and they're always hard at work right at the counter preparing fresh food. Although my daily bagel is only about $2.50, other items on the menu get more expensive, but the fresh, hand preparation is worth it! :)

So, I was in Bethesda again today and was completely prepared to go try a new sammie at the Bean Bag. To my surprise, and disappointment, the store did not seem to exist any more. Does any one have any information to whether this shop has move? Or the dreaded gone out of business?

Ditto what David W. said. I was in the area having some work done on my car, so on over to the strip mall I wandered for lunch. Choices: Korean place, Quizno's, the Bean Bag. Sure, this place costs more than Quizno's, but it's totally worth it. Fresh ingredients, good selection of beverages and I can't say enough things about the staff (particularly the guy, whose name I didn't catch). I sat at the smiley face table and while there wasn't what I would call ambiance, it was plenty pleasant. I got the steak & cheese--which, upon examination of menu and sandwich, I'm not sure actually HAS cheese on it --but it did have delicious peppers and a thick Italian dressing. Thumbs up. I'll be back whenever I'm in the neighborhood.

One of the things I miss the most about Montgomery County. I went to high school next to their original location in Bethesda and literally went every single day from sophomore to senior year. They are probably single-handedly responsible for my caffeine addiction. I have also been to the "new" location in Rockville once or twice. They have excellent coffee - both beans and prepared coffee. Any of their baked stuff is great, especially the cookies and muffins, and they are homemade daily. They have excellent deli sandwiches as well. Bagels from Bethesda Bagels are also among the best in Montgomery County. The DC area needs more non-Starbucks coffee places like this!! It's family owned, and the people who work there are as friendly and helpful as can be. I love this place!!

We stumbled across The Bean Bag many years ago and love their sandwiches. They also have the world's best home-made cookies and muffins. The staff is delightful and eager to please. Recently we have been using them to cater our office and family parties. Oh...they have great coffee too.

mmmmm-- Georgetowner sammige. I don't like coffee so I can't comment, but they make some damn decent sammies. Current store's a lot smaller and less extensive than the old one, but make do with what you got. And get a Georgetowner, you'll be happy you did.

Perfect example of why a locally owned mom and pop (or brother and sister) owned place just puts the chains to shame. The effort put into making these foods a notch above is evident to anyone who tries them. The meat in the sandwiches are unquestionably better, fresher, higher quality than anything you get at an equivalent in and out sandwich place. The bread is fresh and thick cut so it stands up to the mayo or mustard. The soups have never seen a can. The cookies, well I am not a sweets person so I will leave their descriptions to everyone else. Everything just tastes fresher than we are used to from something as simple as a sandwich. The folks are always outgoing, remember you and your usual order and cant be helpful enough. But the key is that one taste of their products will make it clear that the chains cant compete on quality so why would you ever settle for a subway or quiznos?

Absulutly 5 stars, amazing owner that always doing everything to make sure with the food and service, always smells like a good French bakery and vegetables always fresh and clean

(4)Stephen K.
so choice for lunch... generously large and quality sandwiches. Wish they were open on the weekends but hey what can ya do. If you've never been, it's at least a "must try" for anyone living in the area.
(5)Christopher H.
Thanks guys. keep it up.
(4)Pete S.
Could a deli be more overpriced? Good food but what the hell? The sandwiches are really good but for that price it's really not worth it. Everything in there is overpriced.
(3)Lauren M.
Awesome.
(5)Andrew S.
Best steak and cheese I have ever had. Cookies are fantastic, home brewed apricot tea is awesome. Love this place
(5)Dee B.
(3)Jessie L.
(5)Jill H.
(5)Heather J.

(3)Jaye G.
(5)James C.
I just had the roast beef and brie. Fantastic. Very friendly and helpful service. It's out of the way, but it's hard to find decent lunch options on Gude so this is perfect. The decor could use a little work, so I probably wouldn't hang out here, but it's great for take out.
(4)Eddie D.
(3)Puja L.

Yippee!!
(4)Tony M.
Amazing sandwich today "the Bethesdan"...I'm already raving about it to others...Three layers deep and full of flavor...I'll be back for sure! Great cappuccino, biscotti and company too! Make sure to stop by their new spot on East Gude drive...
(5)Awesom-O Z.
Omg! just had the best sandwich here for lunch and I just had to give props to them on yelp.
(5)O G.
(3)John W.
(4)Chickie C.
Just tried this place out for the first time and OMG!!! Only 4 stars because I need to try some more sandwiches. Amazingly good rye bread. Not too much sauce, so you can enjoy the meat.
(4)Gary C.
Great atmosphere here. The workers are very pleasant. I've found my new muffin nook!
(4)Ashley M.
Cookies, cookies, cookies. Cookies! I like to get a healthy sandwich here for lunch and then chow down on a cookie.
(5)Rich S.
Huge sandwiches and the best chocolate chip cookies!
(5)Drethi C.
(5)Elinor L.
(5)Rejena C.
Great selection of different breads, wraps, meats, veggies and cheese to combine and make sandwiches. The workers are always friendly and funny, and usually remember "regulars" orders. I highly recommend their rye bread - SO good. My mom works near this place and we come here very frequently.
(4)Fred K.
(4)Caitlin T.
(5)Eunice K.
small parking area for the stores on the strip but i think it's enough spots. went on friday around 11am and stayed til 230 (almost til closing) parking did not seem to be an issue when i looked outside the store. there was a good rush of people coming in and ordering lunch. the whole staff is awesome! super friendly and helpful. i remember my friend who use to work around this area told me about a good sandwich place and pointed out that it was near the korean restaurant he said everything he tried was good. i got the steak and cheese and honestly thought it was okay. in my opinion the bread was a little too soft and since it was too soft i think it would have been a lot better to toast the bread. i did like the jalapenos or hot peppers on the sub :) the bean size was more than enough. i ate half and gave the other half to my mom. my friend got the miami beach sandwich? it was huge! lots and lots of meat! looked good. i definitely want to try it again.
(4)Beth L.
This is a great lunch spot. The staff is very friendly and their sandwiches are delicious. The bread is always fresh. You're guaranteed a great lunch at Bean Bag!
(5)Matt M.
(5)Ser N.
(5)Nikki W.
Great sandwich and so efficient! Was in a rush and was in and out in about 5 minutes! Love the sizes they have, as a woman I don't really want a sandwich that will take me three meals to finish and the beanie was a great (filling) size.
(4)Marc L.
Chocolate Chip cookies are out of this World!!! Can rival any out there!! Pricey( about $9/lb.) but worth every penny!!!
(5)Rebecca S.
(4)A K.
We got the Robyn's Choice and Bethesdan sandwiches which were quite good. They were well made also, didn't fall apart in your hands. Gotta try the chocolate chip cookies, they are absolutely delicious. We got a latte as well, but it was ok, definitely have had better.
(3)Kevin N.
(4)Mark K.
The Bean Bag is a sandwich & coffee shop in a nondescript strip mall in Rockville. I went there to catch up with an old friend over some food and drinks. The décor is typical of a strip mall type business (i.e. No ambiance at all). The guys working there were very friendly and I just had a cup a soup and my friend and I had some tea. Nothing fancy, but also nothing really to complain about. That said, I will probably pick another place to catch up with my friend the next time I find myself in the village of rocks.
(3)Tu-van L.
(2)Donnie S.
(5)Glaciala A.
Great place in this shopping center. The sandwich was really good, but a little too expensive for me to go there every day. I bought some coffee for home, which was also pretty good. The staff are really nice.
(4)Kristen R.
Love the bean bag's coffee and sandwiches. Wish they were still in Bethesda but i don't mind the drive sometimes.
(4)Libby F.

(4)Jackie R.
(5)Jennifer B.
So, I was in Bethesda again today and was completely prepared to go try a new sammie at the Bean Bag. To my surprise, and disappointment, the store did not seem to exist any more. Does any one have any information to whether this shop has move? Or the dreaded gone out of business?
(4)Laura A.

I have used The Bean Bag to cater events at my house multiple times and have always been very pleased. They consistently exceed my expectations and feedback from my guests has always been positive.
