Went here for a celebratory lunch with coworkers. It's really good! I had the seafood combination pad thai. The portions are huge, the meat was high-quality and plentiful and the service and atmosphere were great. I'd totally come back. Bonus points: The music playing was Michael Buble's Christmas album. In June. I dunno.

So, I've only gotten food from here twice, but it's been VERY good both times. The first time I got the honey shrimp, which was delicious, and today I ordered the Thair Farm Duck, which is fantastic! It's a generous portion of crispy duck in a spicy chili sauce with basic and onion. Spicier than I expected but a wonderful bright flavor. They delivered a large order for multiple people quickly and accurately.
(4)Katherine L.
Food is still good, greasier though, but the service has really declined. Delivery took 1.5 hours for a location that was 5 mins away. Guess they just can't handle large delivery orders. I recommend take out instead.
(2)Steve M.
Yum! Tastes fresh and SPICY so make sure you tell them what spice prefered. Err on the mild side if you are not sure...and even if you are!
(5)Katy T.
I'm behind on my Yelping reviews of over the past few months. Im getting caught up with it. I'll start with Thai Farm.. Very friendly service but the food was not really impressive to me. 2.5 out of 5.
(2)Coco P.
Very good. I order the wrong thing but it was so good. You can order online and pick up within 10 mintues. Very clean and friendly staff. Parking is a hassle but the food is worth it.
(4)Robert C.
I'm not a fan of this place. I've been gotten food from here for about 5-6 times & I was never impressed by them; They're just decent at best. On top this, their portion's very small, not worth the price (which's about 10 bucks per dish on average)

Thai Farm may be a bit hard to find for those who don't know the area very well and don't have GPS. It's not in the main shopping area of King Farm, but rather in the back by the corporate offices. That aside, those that do make it here can expect a very solid meal! I'm going to say that this is probably one of the better Thai meals I had in during my time in Rockville. Everything was authentic, fresh, and delicious. Also, the food is served very quickly and the portions are huge! I got to try a few entrees, but the best dish hands down was the Thai Farm Duck. Aggressive level of spice which perfectly complimented the generous amounts of basil and garlic. The duck quality was stellar too. So delicious. Pad curry was a close second favorite. I'd definitely recommend this place if you happen to be in the area. Four stars.
(4)Brittany G.
Pad thai was pretty average, until there was a hair found in my food. I won't be back.
(1)Christina D.
Came here absolutely famished, so I may be a bit biased. I got my usual Thai dish, pad see ewe and a Thai tea. I was kind of glad they put regular broccoli instead of Chinese broccoli in the pad see ewe--apology to my people. The portion was generous and it wasn't as salty as other places; I'm still on the fence about that because mama needs her sodium. Our server was the sweetest lady my roommate and I have encountered here which was an extremely pleasant contrast to all the grumpy folk they have out in Rockville. The location is a bit random to come to on the weekends, as it's hidden among a bunch of office buildings. But if you don't like to be around people (I hate people), it's the perfect spot!
(4)Alison W.
Best Thai food around! And the service is super fast. It gets really busy during weekday lunch, so go before noon. Everything is delicious here - love the tom kha soup, pad thai, pad see yew, and curry.
(5)Nhi T.
Just went there tonight with my boyfriend! The ambience is nice and love the painting on the walls! The booths are a bit tarnished, but who cares; it's just where you sit. No big deal. The service was great. The waitress was on top of refills and gave adequate time to decide what to order. I ordered papaya salad and my boyfriend ordered the pad thai with squid, scallops, and shrimp! Both were delicious! The papaya salad didn't come with steamed rice, so made me sad, but it was mighty tasty! Plus, we got a selection of 4 different toppings/sauces! Oh and Thai tea, my favorite!!! Yum! The only thing I would say is if you like spicy, really ask for spicy! The papaya salad was not spicy at all, but it is relative depending on your taste buds! My boyfriend thought the pad thai was spicy, so he was quite satisfied! Definitely will be coming back!!!! :)

Started off with an order of the Summer rolls. Not really what I was expecting because they were the smallest fresh spring/summer rolls I have ever had. It was like summer roll sushi. This was a bit off putting to me because I love nothing more than a nice rice paper stuffed to the max with fresh veggies and cut in half so you can hold it in your hand. This sliced small business was not good. I ordered the Pad Phed (Red curry paste with chili pepper and bamboo shoot). I was in the mood for something really spicy and wow was this it. This dish was very spicy, but I really enjoyed every minute of it. The chicken was tender and juicy, while the bamboo shoots provided a great crisp crunch. The rice was a good buffer when the spicy needed to be toned down a bit, but overall, this dish was a home run. My friend had a special menu item, the Massaman curry. This was comfort food at it's finest. It's a hearty beef based curry with tender chunks of beef, potatoes, and these great soft crunchy peanuts. The broth had a heavy star anise undertone but played on the peanut flavor really well. It is definitely more of a heavy sweeter broth, really nice. This food was ok and the staff were really nice, nice enough to be one of the reasons I come back. They greeted us upon our arrival, said goodbye as we left, and kept our drinks full. They were quick and the food arrived fast, I'm not mad at ya Thai Farm.
(4)Irene N.
I called before they were open and they still took my order and had it ready within 20 minutes after opening! Food was good as well. Will definitely become a regular.

I've been here a few times and this place has solid Thai food. I would have given it 4 stars but the smell and prices cause it to be 3 stars. As soon as you walk into the restaurant you are overwhelmed with a stinky fish sauce smell. It smells like old clothes and rotten seafood. I know this is a typical Thai ingredient, but none of the other Thai restaurants I've been to have been this bad. The Pad Kee Mow (Drunken Noodles) is really good. I got the beef and it was cooked well, a nice level of spice and all the ingredients taste fresh. A little pricey coming in around $12 for lunch though. Look forward to trying the panang curry next time. 4 Star food, 1 star docked for prices and the smell of the restaurant.

I work right across the street from Thai Farm so I usually go there during my lunch breaks. Other times I come for dinner. I've only tried 3 things from there and all were delicious. They always honor my request to make my dish 'EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA spicy'. Whenever I order online, I let them know what time I'll be picking up and they always have it ready for me when I get there. So they're pretty consistent. My absolute favorite dish is the Gang Curry Gai. Absolutely delicious! It's white meat chicken in yellow curry, potatoes and tomatoes in light coconut milk. Like I mentioned before, I like my food EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA spicy. They're summer rolls are delicious as well. The servers there are all very friendly. The owner (I think she's the owner) is very personable and comes over to have a conversation with us whenever we're at the bar. I order food there at least once a week. I didn't give them 5 stars because whenever I go there for dinner and order an alcoholic beverage, it doesn't really taste like they put any in it. This has happened on several occasions. But that's certainly not a deal breaker for me.
(4)Jessica L.
I wish I could give 5 stars for my restaurant experience and I will explain in a sec. If this was based on the lickety split delivery that only has a 20$ minimum and no delivery charge and the food comes faster than you can say Your ABC's that would be a whole other story. That being said, after many weeks of loving the delivery promptness, the hostess who never messes up delivery orders and how hot and fresh the delivery food has always been for me , I decided to dine in. Remember i would give 5 stars if this were just based on delivery service. However, today around 3 pm I decided to dine in. Was greeted swiftly by the same gal who takes phone orders. She is a great server, hostess , phone order taker and very pleasant and cheerful. Kept drinks refilled. Cleared dirty dishes immediately. I went for the Tom Yum Shrimp because having soup delivered is something I've never tried and I'm not big on eating soup from a disposable bowl anyway. The soup was deliciously flavored with a rich lemongrass broth, loads of fancy mushrooms and delicate medium shrimp that were obviously dropped fresh into the boiling soup to cook to tenderness without being chewy or hard to remove the tails. The cilantro floated gracefully atop the soup and just enough spice heat to let you know what you were eating Thai without needing extra napkins for a spiced up runny nose. The only complaint I have on the Tom Yum is the level of salt. I'm one that salt and peppers everything. No salt needed here. In fact a whoa Nellie goes out to the cook to lay off the salt a bit to let the other flavors shine. I also had the house salad with ginger peanut dressing. YUM! A large bed of very fresh mixed greens , fresh veggies , crispy won tons with a drizzle of ginger peanut dressing was so refreshing it cleansed my palate of the over salted yet filled with tender shrimp and mushrooms Tom Yum. Also ordered was Thai Farm Fried Rice with chunks of pineapple, raisins, toasted cashews and yellow curry which rose above the occasion with a heaping delightful mound of freshness and the perfect balance of sweet and spice. Wow was it good. So the MAIN REASON I could not give 5 stars for my dine in experience was because there was a bad ambiance. Play some music. Any music and turn off the TV game show with commercials about things no one should have to think about while eating. And take it easy on the salty soup. All in all though, I love the food and delivery service.
(4)Victor S.
Typical Thai dishes but prices you pay do not match the quality. For example I ordered the 'house suggestion' Thai Farm Duck and it was terrible. Looked just like breaded pork strips and tasted bland, definitely a waste of $14. Also they gave me a big hassle of paying by credit card for a pickup order from their website which I marked as cash. I wasn't going to give my credit card online for just this order and they had a big cow about it. Almost walked away, only then did they stop giving me the hassle and graciously took my card.

Was craving some good old Thai food and Thai Farm Restaurant was nearby. Too bad the food didn't satisfy my craving. Boo! On a Sunday evening, the place was completely empty except for two other patrons picking up their to-go order. The restaurant itself was rather clean and had a nice atmosphere. Loved the bar up front, which offered a wide selection of alcohol. Service was good, although brief. The food itself. Yikes! Not good at all. I ordered the Pad Kee Mow with beef. Portion was generous, but it was very bland. The heat was also nowhere to be found. Too bad. That's exactly why I love eating this dish, at other places at least. 3/4 of the dish was noodles and the rest was made up of the beef, onions, tomatoes, and spices. I also got the sticky rice with mango for dessert. What's the first thing I notice when I open the container? I piece of hair (eyelash?) in on one of my mango slices. Could we say disgusting?! Yikes again! The dessert was saltier than I'm used to and not sweet at all. Not sure what was going on there, but it wasn't tasty at all. Maybe I ordered the wrong dishes? Who knows. I might be back to try some other things out, but that's highly unlikely.

Bumping up to four because of the wonderful service on NYE of all days! I came in to order some carry out, and I was definitely skeptical because I didn't remember if I was super happy after being here once. I came in and the hostess was extremely patient and so sweet! After I ordered, she offered me a beverage while I waited and I declined but that was definitely a nice thought! As I sat down at the bar, the owner came by and asked if I was helped. She then offered me a drink as well as I waited so brownie points for that too :) I got Larb Gai, Kee Mao, and Pad Thai sans the nuts. Larb Gai was good, though the chicken wasn't minced so it was different but still decent. I'll personally never get Kee Mao here again, it doesn't have much flavor and just isn't worth it imo. The Pad Thai though was delicious and I'll come back just for that and the impeccable service!

One of the best Thai places I've been to. This is right next my office and its one of our usual hang out places during lunch and happy hour. I've been to Thailand twice and enrolled in Thai cooking classes both times. What we typically eat in the US is kind of sweet. If you like the spice and can tolerate it, tell them to get you the dish "Thai style". Feel the difference. Taste the thunder :) My personal favorites are the drunken noodles and the duck curry. I'm drooling now :( If you feel the spice isn't that strong, don't hesitate to ask for their spice tray. Try the red pepper powder. Fire hot! They have a full bar. We hang out there in the evenings. Singha beer with free popcorn :). Ask for it. Staff is very friendly. That's all for now. Give them a try!
(5)Chris N.
The thai food is average, pretty americanized, and the location is terrible
(3)Erica P.
I was surprise how good the food really is. I had kapow chicken and it was a lil spicy and yummy! I'm not sure why the ratings are so low. This place is better than Thai House Restaurant. Btw, this was my first time here and I got carry out.
(4)Henry M.
Okay, 5 stars is too much, but maybe we ordered more interesting dishes last time. The Tom Kha Gai, which for those who don't know is the usual hot and sour lemongrass soup with coconut milk with chicken, was good, but a little small for the price (singe-serving) and the chicken was overcooked. Good , but pretty typical. A few places are more careful with the chicken, which when it's as thin as this was, can be added after the pot is off the heat and then ladled into the bowl, or use bigger pieces that can stand up to a little more simmering. On the other hand, the crispy fried springs rolls were light and greaseless. The softshell crabs that we had last time were also deep-fried perfectly, so I'm thinking that we'll continue to get fried dishes here. For instance, the crispy fried shredded duck tossed with fresh ginger, scallions, celery, chili paste and lime juice was spicy, a little sweet, and crunchy. We share most dishes, but I let Crystal have almost all of the fresh-grilled salmon topped with chili garlic and spicy lime sauce, served with stir-fried green beans (she needed it more than I did), while I drained my second lemonade (my first lemonade had a little vodka in it). Have I mentioned how beautiful this restaurant is? I will right now. A few of walls are painted with large murals of the countryside and rice fields in Thailand, and the others continue the theme with a pattern of thin leaves in various shades of green, while the tables use the same leaf pattern. Tranquil without being soporific, and colorful without being harsh or over-bright. Nice!
(4)Dan M.
I had lunch here - nice ambiance, fast service, but my red curry was mediocre at best. The chicken was dry(and not much of it). The sauce was a bit too thick and greasy for my liking
(2)Nflite N.
Expensive for standard Thai food! The taste of their menu swings a lot. Some days it's decent and some days it's bad. But their lunch prices are around 12.95 which is overpriced for lunch!! Not worth it for boring Thai menu items. Will stay away from this place.
(2)TJ B.
Good food, served fast. This restaurant is in an interesting location. It's away from the other businesses, down the street from a hotel and across the street from a corporate building. It may seem difficult to find, but there is plenty of parking and the food is very good. I got there for a late lunch (my 2nd visit) and there were big crowds leaving the place so they apparently do a good business. Food was fresh and on point for what I expected. Restaurant was clean. Service was friendly. Food came very fast after I ordered it.
(4)Bill S.
Food is OK, but not great. Chef puts on salt with a very heavy hand. It was overly salty to our tastes. I may be spoiled by being a customer of Ruan Thai in Wheaton, generally acknowledged as the #1 Thai restaurant in the Metro area. Food at Ruan Thai is much better, portions are bigger, and prices a little lower. Service and ambiance are good.
(3)Goretti D.
Came here during lunch with my boss and co-workers. I have had better thai food but I enjoyed it.
(3)Heather M.
Recently moved to the area, so we are searching for our go to Thai place. This was not it! We ordered carryout on a snow day. The place was empty at pick up, food was ready in 15 minutes. Now the food. First item, tom yum veggie soup. The first few bites were decent, but after that it was so salty it was inedible. And , we found a plastic wrapper of some sort in the soup. Next some veggie dumplings. They were great, very flavorful. A little kick to them which was a bummer cause they were for my 8 year old. Also for the kids, pad thai. They liked it, it was flavorful with fresh sprouts. However, it was a pale tan color, no red tint as usual pad thai has. On to the worst of the bunch, green curry. It was salty, really super salty. I ordered medium spicy and all I could taste was salt! And it had chicken in it that just tasted "off". Honestly I couldn't eat it so I just ate off the other items. Finally, the Pad phed with chicken. It was delish! It had a great mix of flavors, it almost tasted like middle eastern curry since there was no coconut. The chicken was fresh and flavorful. It had a great spice level and I would order it again! Overall, only one really good dish. It may have been a bad day, definitely had potential. I might try again in a pinch but I'd rather keep looking.

I've passed this place like a million times, was told it's a great place, but never got the chance to go. Finally got the chance and the food is really good! Food: 4/5 stars. Out of all the things a person can order at a thai restaurant after telling me she never gets to eat thai food, my friend orders Kao Pad which is Thai-style fried rice with eggs and scallions. I mean, really? but hey, to each their own. She liked it either way so I guess its ok. I got Pad Kee Mow. It was spicy but delicious and there were some nice chunks of pepper in it. Yum. I've had better, but this was good too. There were solid pieces of beef and overall, it was a pretty good dish. Service: 5/5 stars. So the place was pretty much empty when my friend and I showed up; Which is fine since I hear it's got a pretty good lunch time crowd. It was also only 5pm, kind of early for the dinner crowd. The waitresses were very attentive, kept the water filled and kept checking on us. It's a telltale sign of a good restaurant when you aren't ignored while being the only patrons, that the wait staff are alright people. Overall, a 4 star place. I really liked the decor too. I would come back just to get another look at the decor. You really can't beat the looks of this place. It was just really cool. They should take the Christmas lights down though.
(4)Bradley L.
My go-to thai place. I eat here a lot and im never disappointed with their dishes. I try to order something new everytime but i do go with my safe standbys which is any if their curries. I think they have the best green curry around. Make sure you order extra rice with a curry dish to help soak up the extra sauce they give you. An other favorite is the tom yum soup. Dishs may be overpriced for standard thai dishes. They surr are delicious. The staff are very friendly here to and they always make me feel welcomed and appreciated.
(4)Ashley R.
Just had a business lunch here and it was excellent. I had the Tom Yum Soup with Chicken, which was some of the best I have ever had. I then ordered Panang Curry which a delicoius seafood combo of squid, shrimp, and scallops. The sauce was outstanding. Great service as well! I would highly recommend this place.
(5)matthew f.
It was just fine. Really, it was fine. Not fair, nor great. I started with a house salad that I like. The vegetables were clean and fresh and the dressing tasty. I'm not a big fan of raw cabbage on my salad, but it made it look cheerful. I then had my usual panang curry with tofu. For me, I could drink the best examples of panang curry sauce. Thai Farm's version was fine. It wasn't sweet, so I give them that. The taste of the coconut milk came through, but the spices not so much. It was heavy on cabbage and bamboo shoots and light on peppers and snow peas (ie, the more expensive veggies). So not inspired, but solid. I have to ding them for not having sticky rice (and no, I don't count mango and sticky rice). I'd go back again, but I'd explore other options in the neighborhood first.
(3)Saby M.
Love this place! I've been here 3x and have left happy every time. It's in a convenient location and every time I've gone for lunch I've gotten parking right out front... Sweet! Food is awesome, Thai iced tea is awesome. Last time I went with a party of 6 and we still got quick and efficient service.
(4)Michelle W.
Ugh. If you're really craving Thai, then stop by here, but if not, skip it. I frequented here because it's close to where I used to work, but it really is only mediocre Thai. I ordered the drunken noodles several times and the noodles were too chewy and just sort of clumped together, not to mention the fact that it really wasn't spicy at all! Also, the pad thai tastes like ketchup.
(2)Donald P.
Came here for a private birthday party on Sunday. They opened up the restaurant early just for this event as they normally only open at 4pm on Sundays. They don't do buffets normally, but they did it specially for this private birthday party. The food was for the most part pretty good. I can't really say I'm a fan, but it seemed a little better than a-okay...so 3.5 stars.
(4)Heather M.
Food was delicious and had plenty of meat free options (I am a vegan). The sound from conversations carries so it can get loud.
(4)Jim L.
This restaurant is kind of outta the way....tucked into the King Farm community not too far from the Shady Grove Metro. The portions of food are nice. No skimping here. Rarely is it busy, at least during the 3 times that I've been here. The Pad Thai is as expected, the equivalent of the Pad See Ew is pretty good with ample portions of meat. Hint: Always order it with pork, because sometimes the beef or chicken can be dry.... Service is good. I'm surprised that I don't come here more often as it's in my neighborhood.... Good job Thai Farm!
(4)Mike M.
I'd love to give this place more stars, if nothing else for the friendly service and the fact that they are one of the few consistent restaurants to serve this particular community. A lot of people say it's the best Thai they've ever had, I wish I felt that way but I just don't. It's good but there are several in the area I believe are better.
(3)Jessica N.
Edit 12/22/2013 I no longer recommend this place to friends that ask for a good spot. Our past four visits or meals delivered were average or unacceptable. Twice the Pad See Ew had no sauce. The Gang Dang curry was more than 70% bamboo shoots with very little meat. Are they under new management??? New chef? Something changed and we no longer visit or order from here. We are really sad about this development but they are really making bad changes. ------- My husband and I have eaten here about twenty times and I am reviewing based on all of our trips overall. This place nails everything and is therefore deserving of a perfect score in my book. It's not luxury dining or abundant in creative menu options, but what they cook, they cook SO WELL. The service is impeccable- refills before I'm out of drink, polite staff, food arrives fast and streaming hot. We've tried about five dishes here and hate to try others because we know exactly what we want there: Pad See Ew and Gang Dang curry. They're perfect. They're fragrant and delicious. The portions are good sizes, the prices are excellent (beers for $4, entrees for about $10), rice is included with curry. Overall, no complaints about the food whatsoever. We love it We have never ever encountered a sticky table, smeared menu or dirty glass. The bar and restaurant are extremely clean!! When we walk in we are always met instantly by a hostess with a smile and all I can smell is delicious food. Not a single complaint to be had in service. If you're thinking of going on a date here, nights are good. The lighting and decor is diffused, modern and tasteful. It's casual and doesn't require any more than jeans.
(3)C G.
Not impressed with Pad Thai. How can you mess up Pad Thai?? Chicken Pad Thai tasted funny. Both times. Seems to have the funk of a hay barn. Maybe it was the extra peppers they put in it to make it hot enough for me. Man, did I feel bad when I BEGGED them to make it freal Thai HOT and then it tasted like crap. Don't know what made it funky. I will try it again and update my review. Pineapple rice was seriously delicious, though.
(2)Sarah H.
This place is lucky it's even getting 2 stars, and that's only because their appetizers were good and the delivery was fast. Ordered here because they were one of the only delivery options open on Labor Day. Their appetizers were good. Spring rolls weren't too greasy and the Satay had a nice flavor. Their downfall was the Pad Thai. We've had Pad Thai several other places, so I have at least an idea of what it's supposed to taste like. This tasted like vomit. Literal, actual vomit. Took one bite and threw the rest away. Never ordering or going here again.

Ok

What We Ate Was It Good? Summer Rolls w/ Chicken Pretty tasty with PB sauce Mussels with Basil and Yes Lemongrass Tom Yum Soup (veggie) Excellent Ginger chicken (no. 43) Yes! Loved it. Chicken Pad Kee Mow (no. 63) Yes! Loved it. My husband loved that he could make everything uncomfortably spicy with the little carousel of hotness that they bring to the table.
(3)Carol C.
Cute place in an odd location. The restaurant itself is very pretty, the servers are friendly, and overall good ambiance. The dishes are fairly priced and I thought some were even on the cheap side. Less than 10 bucks for duck curry with generous portions of meat? Not bad at all. Flavors were rich, but a little too salty and not enough spicy. Green curry was also good, but again, the saltiness ended up masking a lot of the other flavors. They do offer brown rice for an extra dollar (but I observed the serving size is smaller than a bowl of white rice) and have plenty of vegetarian options made without fish sauce. One other minor gripe is that their mango sticky rice was a little dry and hard (the rice part). The mangos were tasty though. All in all a decent spot for Thai food, definitely an enjoyable step in my quest to familiarize myself with this cuisine.
(3)Miranda C.
Review long overdue. Their shrimp pad thai is absolutely delicious, big portioned and memorable. The shrimp is cooked to perfection and then mixed with succulent noodles to make one of the BEST SHRIMP PAD THAI entrees I have ever had anywhere! Decor is nice and spacious w/ a comforting feel to it. Service is awesome: fast, efficient and attentive. I highly recommend it Thai Farm!!
(5)Francis K.
Great selection. Fast service. Good food. I'LL BE BACK!!! :-)
(4)James B.
Best lunch spot I have seen in the city of Rockville!! Affordable, delicious, light and fresh food, tons of flavor, friendly and fast service, beautiful simple decor. Had the shrimp wonton soup and coconut, peanut sauced chicken satay with rice for only $15. Food had amazing flavor and was so light and flavorful. Request the spice and sauce tray to add some pizazz. I will be coming here regularly and cannot wait to go back.
(5)Natasha S.
The more I have eaten here, the more I have actually tried their entire menu. I will say, this place is very Americanized for the American palate. While their standard noodle dishes are good, I prefer to stick to the curry. Otherwise, their other dishes are not good. A lot of the items are drenched or smothered in sauces overboard to accompany the palates that aren't crazy about authentic Asian food. I only order them for lunch delivery because they are close and super quick. Otherwise, the food is just mediocre.
(3)Crystal G.
For the past 6 months Ive been on a quest to find good Thai food in the Gaithersburg area, and finally I found what I was looking for. My boyfriend loves really spicy food and got a spicy dish that he said was not the best thai hes ever had, but was still really really good. I got the panang which was chicken and red chili and coconut milk curry, with rice. For me, it was delicious, just the right amount of spicy. While the food was good, we did feel that the price was a little expensive. On the plus side, they deliver!
(4)Miss T.
The WORST Thai food I have ever had. Ever. Totally Americanized, bland, and the chef is CHEAP and CUTS CORNERS to save them money, making the dishes totally unauthentic. Basil chicken made with JALAPENOS instead of Thai chilis? Really? Green chicken curry with ZERO eggplant? Cheap, cheap, cheap! They are soooo stingy and the food suffers for it! I have been to Thailand, and tried dozens of local Thai restaurants in DC, Maryland, and Virginia. There are a small amount of GREAT Thai restaurants in DC, quite a lot of mediocre, and a few HORRIBLE Thai restaurants. Let's begin with the good stuff. Pleasant atmosphere, nice mural on the wall. Pretty chill. Decent service. Menu is not overwhelming. Prices clearly labeled. Then, let's get down to the nitty gritty. I ask the waiter for lemon slices for the water. After a while, he brings me two of the most pathetic, microscopic, shriveled, anorexic slices of lemon just about ever. This is a very bad sign to me in a restaurant. Being stingy and cheap with lemon. Three or four medium wedges would have been nice. We ordered the summer rolls. It says on the menu 'six.' I didn't think it would be six large sized rolls, but maybe six small ones. WRONG. It was TWO small rolls cut into six slices! The peanut sauce was very good, but they didn't even fill the little bowl with it...they were even stingy with the sauce! The chicken inside the rolls was horrible. I think they used leftover satay chicken that people leave on their plates...but it seemed rubbery and had that fake chicken breast chemical taste you get at Subway, etc. Gross. We ordered Basil chicken (Ka Pow Gai for those who can speak a little Thai.) I was gobsmacked. Just tasting the sauce...it was AWFUL. Incredibly salty with ZERO flavor other than extremely, extremely acid and hot. Turns out they don't add fish sauce or much soy sauce. There were literally about three small Thai basil leaves in the dish...in a dish that at other Thai restaurants has a huge bunch full...leaving it almost flavorless. I was tempted to ask the waiter for more cooked basil to add to the dish, just to get through it. Not to mention, this is 'WHITE PEOPLE THAI FOOD'. The Thai Green curry, which at all other Thai restaurants is a little bit spicy, full of fragrant spices, peppers, Thai eggplant (the little green tender ones) or even slices of regular eggplant, was BLAND. Nothing. Dullsville. Nothing but some dried out chicken strips and a bunch of overwhelming canned bamboo shoots. This place is the pits. I saw people across from me ordering the ketchupy bright pink looking Pad Thai. It's Americanized Thai food at its worse. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if you went back in the kitchen and saw a non-Thai chef. Just awful. Don't waste the money. If you have ever had been to a good, non-Americanized Thai restaurant 3 or 4 times, you will be disgusted with this food. Too bad, because the manager (owner?) seemed very nice.

Food tastes pretty good. Got gang dang chicken and watercress with yellow curry and beef. Unfortunately food was a bit cold in some areas. Seems like it was pre-made and they warmed it up.

Thai Farm has become my favorite Thai place that's within 10 minutes of my house. I used to love Thai Pavilion and Benjarong, not that I hate them because I would still eat at those places, but for some reason, my taste buds prefer this place. I mainly eat the Pad Thai and the green curry (so typical...) but they are absolutely delicious. Price is fair and service is quick. I normally order for pick up and they're always ready right in the 15 minute timeframe they give despite the time of day I go on weekends. The decor is great and the restaurant itself is clean and big. The only thing that is not so good is the parking because of the location it is in, right in the middle of the office buildings in King Farm. But other than that, this place is definitely worth trying!
(5)Zara K.
its not amazing and its not terrible. first time i went i really enjoyed their papaya salad....super spicy tangy and yyuum...! but again not the best iv had! second time i went i ordered their green curry, serving size is pretty small compared to other thai restaurants....was a lil too liquidy and maybe just a bit bland....not amazing...but definitely not bad! i wish they had coconut shrimp tho!(the breaded kind, im obsessed!:P)
(3)Debra T.
Great for lunch! Their dishes are a little on the smaller side but I see that as a positive attribute so I don't over eat! I usually order their Panang Curry and I am obsessed with their Mango Sticky Rice Dessert. Service is great too, fast and attentive.
(3)Mary C.
We stopped here on our way through Gaithersburg. Our orders were Pork Pad Thai, Tom Kha Soup and steam vegetable dumplings. The Tom Kha was tasty with the combination between milky, tart, and peppery just right. The steamed vegetable dumplings were awful. Gummy and glutinous. The Pad Thai was attractively presented and tasted delicious.
(3)Tim R.
We used to be impressed with this place and it had been a while since we went here. Went for lunch and was a little disappointed. Had pad see ew, pad thai, and penang curry. The pad thai and penang curry both were over salty and the pad see ew had way too much pepper. Service is good and it's a nice place to look at, but just seemed like they were not careful with how they seasoned things.
(2)Carla M.
The food is very good as is the service. Plus they are honest. My husband left a credit card there. They kept it safe and returned it to us. Manager is Nikki. Charming woman.
(5)Joe Y.
Very good Thai food. We lived near it for over a year before trying as it is out of the way (near 270 in King Farm, away from shops, city center, etc.) After being disappointed by some of the other local Thai places, we were pleasantly surprised by Thai Farm. The summer roll appetizer was delicious, compared favorably to the Vietnamese version. The food was flavorful and spicy and the prices were reasonable. Our waitress was not overly emotive, but she was very attentive and knew every aspect of the menu. My only beef was the portions were a little small. Other than that, I highly recommend.

If you're in Rockville and your trying to decide where to go to satisfy your thai craving- here's the order I'd put them in. 1) Thai House (No ambiance- fantastic food) 2) Amina Thai (No ambiance- fantastic food- except their pad thai) 3) Tara Asia (Good ambiance- above average food) 4) Thai Pavilion (Good ambiance- above average food) 5) Benjarong (No ambiance- decent food- good pad thai) 6) Tara Thai (Sucks.) ok so now you're asking...wait. Isn't this a review of Thai Farm? I think you missed it in the list above. Well- that's because its forgettable. It's inconsistent, sometimes its good, sometimes its average. It's never really BAD, and the ambiance is decent. So why isn't it higher? Well, the staff always looks like they smell something bad. They are unfriendly, and act like they deserve the business because they are in an office park in King Farm so there is no need to be polite, or anything but a blank face serving you. The place has NO personality. I DO enjoy their corn soup- they don't skimp on the portions.
(3)Rebecca S.
Poor service and too pricey. Food is not fresh and servers do not know enough English to place correct order.
(1)Katie T.
Good food but sometimes it is not as good as the previous visit. Service is also hit or miss. But the atmosphere is nice and most of the things on the menu are very tasty. I used to have a review with a higher rating but the food has had some inconsistencies since then. Last time I went my friend ordered something that was very bland and overcooked. The waitstaff was very rude when he wanted something different. But I will keep going back there because most of my experiences have been good. I like the pad kra pow and the panang curry.
(3)Erica Y.
Can't believe I never reviewed this place. I eat lunch here and get carryout here all the time. Love the flavors, love the portions, I don't know what authentic Thai is but their basic Thai dishes are good. I like most dishes here better than Tara Thai. However, Tara Thai's seafood fried rice is still the best and they don't offer a similar dish here.
(4)M. P.
3.5 stars for me. I really wasn't expecting much from a thai place in the basement of the Liberty Mutual Insurance building but I was quite surprised. Everything was very good and service was quick and friendly. This wouldn't be my go-to thai place but I will return in the future.
(3)Noah K.
There are lots of reviews here already, so I will just add my two cents briefly. Great atmosphere, great value, great service, great food. My favorite Thai food in the area, and I would say the standard in MoCo for Thai is pretty high. My personal favorite dish is the duck curry, which they practically give away. Do yourself a favor and start with one of their great salads, although there are so many great appetizers, it will be hard to choose just a few. Very hard to go wrong here, enjoy!
(5)Adam P.
Take-out from Thai Farm is consistently on time and delicious. Seriously, as far as delivery joints go this is one of my favorites. Always recommend the duck and Pad Thai.
(4)Taylor F.
this place used to be ok but they took a turn for the worse. our last meal here was a disaster. we ordered our food and the waitress came to fill up our glasses with water. she spilled water all over my grandfather and she was so embarrassed she had to go hide and get the manager. when the food came, grandpa's dish only had a few shrimp. my rice noodle dish was average at best. we'll take our business to Tara Asia from now on and won't look back.
(2)Wendi W.
This is probably one of my favorite places (notice I didn't say Thai, yup, because this is seriously one of my FAVORITE place) to eat while living in Rockville. I would seriously come here at least once a week, if not more. Usually just order take outs on my way back from work. I usually get the Tom-yum soup with Shirmp and Veggies and the CRISPY BASIL DUCK! OMG! I cannot say enough good things about this dish! I have brought my boyfriend annnd my best friend here while they came to visit from California and NYC, and both of them agree that this is one of the best duck dishes they have had! How good is it? lets just say I moved back from DC a year ago, and I'm still dreaming about it! I wonder if they'll overnight it if i asked... Anyway, why they are so amazing you may be wondering? So the duck is deep fried with the basil, then tossed in some awesome garlicish/herby brown sauce that just explodes in your mouth (in a good way)! The portion is large and comes with a good amount of duck meat. I'm totally thinking about planning a trip back east so I can have some Crispy duck... haha Oh, all their other stuff are great too!
(5)Tam T.
The only complaint that I have is that it takes a very long time for your food to come out. Also, the parking is a bit weird. I had trouble finding parking. It may be because I am not used to going to the King Farm area. Other than that its a nice place to go to. The food is great and the staff is very friendly.
(4)Benji C.
Very good quality, LOVE all the curry and tom kha (I ask to make everything more spicy because it's a little weak in that aspect). Spring rolls are also great but i wish you got more than 3 for $6. Great ambiance and decorating as well
(4)Chris M.
I enjoyed eating here and would come back here next time I'm in the MD area. I introduced my Peruvian born lady to Thai and she loved it, but her stomach had trouble with it later. Oh well. Try the duck extra spicey! My one small qualm about this place is that it's not as hot as Thai food in Thailand! They make everything with red chili peppers there! Also, the service was excellent!
(4)Kim S.
Thai Farm used to be one of my favorite lunch spots. The people in my office always would recommend it to visitors. However, something has happened in the past year. The food is now spotty at best; it's frequently overly, overly salted and/or really oily. I'm sure there are still good items but you really don't know what you're going to get.
(3)Jueli L.
I've had my share of Thai food. In fact, I love Thai food so much that I go out of my way to try everything at every establishment in any vicinity near me. Thai Farm is located in a deserted area of King Farm near a Sheraton Hotel and some office buildings. I would never have found this place had my friend, who happens to live in King Farm, not shown me the night before where it is. Once you find this place, you will see when you first walk in, the beautiful murals of the Vietnamese country side and some generically aesthetic hanging lamps and bar area. The decor is nice, as are the waitresses who keep refilling your water, a big point with Eating Partner. He downs water like it's his business. Maybe it's a guy thing. Anyhoo, the menu is generic with many of the same Thai cuisine dishes. We tried the fried curry as an appetizer followed by the red curry and the pad kee mao. Although the appetizers are of standard size, the entrees are largely portioned. Not only that, but they do have a high level of spice, which I find very alluring. One of my biggest pet peeves is when restaurants tone down their spiciness to pander to the White suburban stereotype. Nope not this place. If I like the decor, the waitresses are nice and attentive, the portions are large, then what's with the rating? Well, it all comes down to flavor. The dishes lacked a well-rounded, complexity of flavor. Each plate tasted one-note with a dash of heat to compensate. Once they figure out what the missing flavors for each dish are, I'm sure this place will receive a 5 star rating from me. Just gotta amp up the flavors, Thai Farm, and the people will flock here like mosquitoes to light.

The Best Thai Food Ive ever had! Beautiful, Clean, organized inside. Wait staff is good and can be very quick if you tell them your on your lunch break and in a hurry! Prices are all very reasonable... about $10.50 for a meat entree. Food is always super hot and fresh! MUST TRY the Pad-kee-maw and the Pad-Curry! YUMMO! THEY DELIVER!! :)
(5)William R.
I will start by disclosing that the GF and I are vegetarians. We love this restaurant! Be a bit careful on Sunday when the regular chef is not in. Otherwise, we've really enjoyed this place. We'll start by saying that we like the freshness of the vegetables and the fact that in the Tom Yum soup, they actually cook the vegetables. Delicious! For our fellow vegetarians out there, this place will make practically any dish on the menu vegetarian. This allows us to explore a much greater variety of dishes than we usually can. I love the Pad Khee Mao and the Panang curry (they don't just serve it with tofu, which is common in many thai restaurants, but actually add vegetables as well). YL is rather partial to the Pad Curry. The poh pia sod appetizer is also good.
(4)Andrew K.
Average service, average food. I ordered the duck red curry and it came out a little salty. I also tried the fried green bean dish which was ok but that was kind of salty too. The waitress was also slow and didn't really check up on us. The tea was also kind of bitter. The place looks really very upscale but I kind of like a more low key place for thai food.
(3)A A.
Food was good. My dish was mostly breaded chicken with very little vegetables, very different from the way it is usually served by the Thai restaurants I've been to...
(3)Trevor M.
Thai Farm. This is what Thai food should be like. Atmosphere: Distinctly modern with murals depicting Thai farm land. Unpretentious. If Thailand had Irish pubs...this is what it would be like.... if it were in Asia and had cool food that you needed chopsticks for. Food: Kanon Jeeb. Dumplngs that make you wish that your mother were asian and thai and knew how to cook. Satay...a classic of Thai food and done beautifully here. Peanut sauce...not canned, not poured from a box...but the real deal. Hoy jaw...asian crab meat balls...not that crabs have balls...but these are good. Salad: Larb Gai: Minced Chicken salad. Yum Ped Yang: Duck Salad, but the best salad is the Yum Talay....seafood salad that you almost wish you can have every day. Mains: Panang: Coconut curry sauce....that is heavenly. Note: Here's the great thing about Thai food...Sauces can be used with just about any kind of protein. You want chicken...no issues. Beef. no issues. Seafood. no issues... Are you a closet Vegan...they can make it with tofu or just veggies.....you can't fail here. How nice is that? Drink/Bar: What part of Asian irish pub...did you not get about this review? These guys know how to make a drink....I walk in...and they know my regular (it's nice that I have regular drinks at several restaurants in this area). Try the Blue Fin. Ask for it by name...it's good. Service/Staff: The nicest folks, the most attentive folks. The management rocks here. Price: moderate...great date night. Return rate: It's in an odd part of King Farm, but worth the trip for the best Thai food around...the best Thai food. Bottom line: If you don't go...you're missing out on some of the best Asian food around.
(5)Bill K.
Brought our Thai exchange student with us, all rated the food and service excellent. The food is mild, be prepared to add spices.
(5)Michael S.
This place never disappoints. It was the first place I tried an array of different dishes and they are all good. The lemongrass soup is fantastic. It's definitely a love hate thing, you either love it or hate it. I'm a big fan of whole fish and the way Thai restaurants prepare it and it's good here. Usually kinda expensive for one dish but always good. The dish that tops them all here is the honey shrimp. it's amazing, great for a share dish for a group of people who got entrees cause it doesn't have very many components to it like a good entree should but the flavor is so good it's a nice compliment as an additional dish for a group. If you like lemon grass soup and wanna try some amazing honey shrimp this is the place to go.

I've been here about a dozen times for lunch. It is located in the King Farm area and is in the 1st floor of one of the office buidings in that community. The restuarant is nice inside and the food is good. They have about 6 different curry dishes, which I tried the Panang. I didn't like it because it was too much curry and coconut for my taste. But I am in love with the Pad Himmaparn which has stir fried with cashew nuts, onions, and carrots. You can get it with chicken, beef, Pork, or seafood. I also love the Pad Asparagus as well. For an appetizer, I always get the summer rolls, which are very fresh with rice paper wrapped around garden vegetables and chicken. I also like that they take American Express.
(4)Cecilia J.
The salmon is supurb. very nice ambiance. Try everything - it is great.
(5)Thugnificent M.
Whenever I go to a Thai restaurant I try to get something I've never had before. And with names like Kra Pow Gra it's kinda hard to remember what you had before and what you're actually getting even with the vague description. I make my selection based off the number of chilly peppers next to the name on the menu. Everything with 2 chill peppers I've tried has been spectacular. On the spice level, I had to add some more peppers to get a little more punch to the dish.
(4)Cynthia F.
Great Thai food. Love the atmosphere. I enjoyed the Tofu soup. Very enjoyable atmosphere with lots of light.
(4)Eric S.
I used to work right by here and wasn't impressed. It's not terrible, but with so many other Thai options nearby, it just seemed mediocre the few times I went. Spice levels were pretty low, and everything seemed cooked in a fashion that was a bit off. The chicken in my soup was really tough, the duck in the curry was overcooked and tough, noodles in another dish weren't cooked enough, etc. GIven the good reviews, maybe I just need to go for dinner instead of lunch, or order something else, but I'm having trouble feeling it. I'd rather go to Thai Jasmine Bistro a couple miles away. As a note, the inside is very nice, though, and service was always on top of things. I've just had better elsewhere, in multiple places. ~EEE~
(2)Sara A.
I love this place! Just went here for the first time and it was awesome. We had a huge party and had excellent food with excellent service. I finally found my new Thai place!
(5)Teresa k.
A great find! This restaurant always provides great service and delicious food. On a recent visit a group of 7 of us enjoyed a fun luncheon with plenty of attention from our helpful waitress! Try the satay chicken, honey shrimp and thai farm fried rice.
(5)Tasha D.
Had a very nice dinner here a few weeks ago. I ordered off the seasonal menu and all the food was very good. The service was super friendly and quick. I would definitely come here again.
(4)Sean C.
In my opinion, they have the best Thai food in the Rockville/Gaithersburg area. I always get the Pad Thai and Beef Pad Kee Mow. The Pad Kee Mow has just the right amount spiciness to it. And I would also highly recommend the green curry. I usually get take-out since it's always very quick (I usually call 5-10 minutes before I get there), but will occasionally eat in. The decor is very modern and nice.
(4)Lisa N.
Ordered Panang (yellow, coconut) curry with chicken. Curry good but only came with chicken (no vegs). Portion too small for price.
(2)Corey I.
I just LOVE this restaurant. The Chef's Specials on their menu rock, so it's advisable to pick one of them, regardless of whether or not this is your first visit or your 15th. :) One of my favorite dishes from this list (of Chef's Specialties) is the Tamarind Chicken. Crispy & spicy, with a nice contrast of flavors. The steamed rice helps to provide a nice "cushion" for the intensity of the dish's many swirling flavors. You never know, you might just be launching to the moon after eating this scrumptious dish! :) I agree with other reviewers who wrote that their Pad Thai is just OK. Tara Thai probably does a more flavorful Pad Thai, but overall, I'd pick Thai Farm because the menu is a lot more unique & interesting, & the service is MUCH, much better.
(4)Janani G.
yummy food......one of the best thai food i have had till date.....friendly staff and food was delicious...we had ordered 3 diff kinds ...all of them were very good....i would say i have found a nice thai eat out for my regular thai craving visits...
(5)David L.
Solid restaurant with lots of good Thai dishes. My friend likes the pineapple friend rice, but I tend to get the meat/rice dishes, especially the pork. If you have room, get the sticky rice and mango, it's awesome. Service is good too.
(4)Michael T.
Mediocre foods, terrible services, over-priced for the food quality.
(2)Vinny S.
Not very impressive at all. The food was mediocre at best, and the service was worse. I would not be inclined to return to this place.
(2)Alan G.
Good food, service, clean and nice decor. Parking easy. Shrimp dishes the best....will return
(4)Micah P.
This place has a great selection of Thai food and has great presentation and service. It's also in a nice place in town. I'd definitely try and come here again.
(4)Wendy D.
I've been eating at Thai Farm for about 6 years now. Not only is the decor absolutely lovely (hand pained walls resembling Thailand itself, as well as hand pained tables) but the food is absolutely delicious, as well as presented well. The pad thai, chicken panang and chicken satay are my favorites. The mango with sticky rice also make a nice dessert.
(5)Shawn H.
I've been here a number of times over the years. Great little place, great service, everyone is very nice. Food is always pretty good. The pad Thai is very popular. You can ask for a spicy tray also. I've had the Pad Thai, Pad See-Ew, Pad curry, Summer Rolls, and fried eggplant, no complaints on anything.
(4)sanjay p.
Excellent Food! I very much like their Salmon Specialty. also like the decor fun and creative. Highly recommend Thai Farm
(4)Vic M.
I've been to Thai Farm twice and wasn't totally impressed. I went for dinner and lunch. The decor is really nice and peaceful, but the food does not live up to the hype. I'm a sucker for lemongrass soup with coconut milk. They made it fine I suppose. I got it with vegetables and it should have had more vegetables in smaller pieces instead of just a few large pieces of vegetables. I also love chicken and basil dishes with some curry. I've tried two of their curry dishes and they were all watery and oily at the same time. My second dish, the yellow curry with white meat chicken was awful. The sauce tasted okay, but there were pieces of onion skin and massive amounts of fat on the horrible cuts of chicken. I took a photo of the pile of fat I had to pull off just to eat my lunch. I'd say it was around an eighth to a quarter of a cup of FAT that I had to peal and rip off with my hands. Not to mention the chicken just looked disgusting. The first chicken with basil curry dish I had there contain much more apetizing cuts of chicken, leaner looking, but it was all soupy (after I had already had soup). Disgusting. If I hadn't paid for the meal and wasn't so hungry, I'd thrown it out. They charge way too much for a to go cup of soda. I give them two stars for inconsistency, not living up to the hype, and the massive amounts of straight up chicken fat and onion peels they tried to feed me.
(2)Droid B.
Pad Thai chicken is super
(5)Rick N.
Good but unremarkable on all levels. Avg service
(3)Angel R.
Consistantly good for lunch or dinner. Great decor. Fast service. And there are ALWAYS Asian people eating there! that's a good sign, right?!? I love #62 with the seafood option. Spicy/yummy :)
(5)Debbie S.
Always consitent, always delicious. I love coming here for mango and sticky rice in the summer. It's a go to place for lunch with coworkers when we have clients, and I've never been disappointed. The Savoy chicken appetizer is the perfect blend between sweet and salty. The service is great, and they have take out and delivery!
(5)Daryll H.
Friend: "Rice, please." Waitress: "Yes, please."
(4)Anita S.
This is definitely a decent Thai restaurant in Rockville. I've gone here twice with coworkers and had a pleasant experience.
(4)Giang L.
I've eaten at Thai Farm many times and every time it's great. Its location is a bit odd being that it is connected to an office The service is alright but what makes me coming back is the food. The pad thai is great, it actually taste like how your thai grandmother would make it, but you just need to specify that you want it made like home cooking rather than "americanized pad thai". I recommend this place over all other thai restaurants in the area. plus the decor is absolutely pleasant and clean.
(5)Aleksandra V.
SO yummy - never disappointed. Took a few different groups there for lunch / dinner and always great food. Service is really good too. No complaints.
(5)Alex C.
I felt bad leaving a little on the plate, but I was so full. I stuck with my staples; papaya salad and panang curry with beef and they did not disappoint. Both prepared simply, with just the right amount of spice. I'll be back to check out the rest of the menu.
(4)Tariq A.
For a Thai that delivers to my doorstep, i think its pretty great. Try the beef green curry and the chicken Kar Praw
(5)Alisa O.
I have been to Bangkok and there just isn't any place in the States (East or West Coast) that taste as good as food from the real place. Having said that, I like Thai Farm. It's always a good sign when the wait staff are actually from the same country as the cuisine and I'm always more enthusiastic if they don't entirely speak English. Not so authentic as to have "insect paste" on the menu (I'm not kidding and no I wasn't that adventurious when I was in Thailand) but still good food, clean place, fairly cheap, and quick. I typically ate lunch there when I worked in the area, so I don't know much about the dinner menu.
(4)Jen L.
I don't know anything about the authenticity of Thai restaurants, but I prefer the Pad Thai from the other restaurants over the Pad Thai from this restaurant. The Pad Thai isn't as soft or flavorful as the ones I've tasted from other restaurants and it almost has this Americanized or ketchupy flavor along with way too strong of a lemon flavor. The Pad See Ew is much better, but the noodles are still a bit harder than I'm used to. Again, I know nothing about the authenticity of Thai food and I haven't been to Thailand before. The best thing about the restaurant is that prices are quite reasonable. Also, another great thing is that there are different prices for each dish according to meat or lack there of - no meat, chicken/beef, and seafood.
