My tastebuds have never experienced something so amazing in my life. The food is so delicious it's as if you're in a five star resort restaurant with the chef personally crafting every bite and not a fast food restaurant on rockville pike. The establishment itself is just beautiful. Simple yet elegant and stunning. The waitstaff is so kind and accommodating. Every time I enter Noodles & Company I am taken to another world. A world where everything is perfect. I can't say enough about this picturesque establishment with the most glorious food known to mankind

Their food is just not good. The japenese soba noodles with beef (the recommended pairing) was so gross. The meat was big lumps, unappealing and virtually unedible. The veggies were not great. Did the pairing with the curry soup. The broth was good. The noodles and veggies were not good. Just not worth the money or the visit.

If you're a noodle fan, this place is great for a quick and relatively cheap lunch (or dinner). My favorite is the Japanese pan noodles with chicken added. If you're eating in, it's fast food with a more homey, restaurant feel. I'm a fan and I know I'll be back for more.

I've been a fan since noodles & company first came to the DC area. Lunch here is inexpensive and quick, and quick they are. It's fast food, but a step up. They bring your food to you. They use silverware, not plastic. You have three styles of food in two sizes to choose from: Asian, Mediterranean and American. They serve noodles, soups and salads. Pricing is simple: Regular sized meals are $5.50 and small sized meals are $4.25. You can pay $2 more to add a protein topping. That said, I've had a variety of meals and enjoyed them all. I had the Pesto Cavatappi for lunch today and it was way more food than I could eat. It is a curly pasta with pesto and large slices of sauteed mushrooms. It is topped with a generous portion of fresh, grated parmesan (not the kind from the can). The BEST part about my lunch was that it was FREE! That's because I signed up for their emails online and they sent me a certificate for a free birthday meal. Yay Me! Yay noodles & company! The not so great part is that it can get noisy. Today, I can honestly say that there were more patrons under the age of three than anyone else. From babies going, "Ahhhhh. Ahhhh. Ahhhhh." to toddlers bagging their metal forks against their ceramic bowl while the parents are obliviously deep in their own loud conversations. If you want a quick, hot meal and can tune the external noises out, then give this place a shot.

There was hair in two of the 3 dishes we ordered. I'm not talking hair that just fell on the side of the plate, no, this hair wasn't even found until most of the Mac n cheese had been eaten and it did not match anyone's at the table. It was practically mixed in. I noticed a woman in the back with no hair net or hat. To be honest, I didn't even bother notifying someone, because honestly, I got the vibe that there was no one there who would truly care. I suppose I should have given them an opportunity to make things right but I just wanted to get out of there. I decided a review and a vow to never return again would suffice. The food is mediocre. I'm surprised I didn't hear the sound of microwave beeps from the kitchen. They also gave me the wrong dressing on my salad. I noticed trash on the floor under a table or two. Despite it being pretty slow, no one had taken the time to clean up. I work in the food industry, so I understand things get busy and you don't always have the chance to immediately pick up.But kitchen cleanliness and friendliness should be a constant, regardless. The one star is for the man who brought out our food, who noticed our kids were sharing a dish and offered another us another plate.

We keep coming to Noodles & Company out of convenience or for lack of a better place to go. They are all the same and so is our experience...meh to A-OK. I mean I love the concept but just poorly executed sometimes. This one was just okay. What saved it was the really nice guy behind the register. I forgot to tell the guy what meat I wanted for my pad thai, but he didn't ask either. He was excellent at correcting the problem but ultimately the quality of the food was so-so.

It is a nice casual place where kids and adults can enjoy various types of noodles which exist around the world. It is nothing fancy, but it is an easy place for people who are vegetarian or non vegetarian, Asian food fans or European food fans....

Japanese pan noodles are my absolute favorite. Flavor is consistent however, I wish the regular bowl was a bit bigger.

Loves noodles and company and it is my daughter 's favorite food. However this particular location needs to be better managed. Every time we come, the place looks filthy from the kitchen to the tables.

Probably the worst food I've ever had. You know what noodles are like when the sit in the strainer and then you microwave them? That's what the noodles were like in my beef stroganoff. The meat was dry and the sauce was vile. Perhaps we just ordered wrong as this was our first time here.

Tomato basil soup and the Thai hot pot were both very good. Very fast service and a good way to warm up on a cold day. The Alfredo pasta was not that great. A bit too parmesan cheesy. I'd stick to the soups over the pastas.

Haven't been here in awhile. Picked up a To Go order. When I got home, there were stuff left out of the order. Fresh Fruit Salad didn't have any fruits at all. Called the restaurant and talked to a very nice gentleman named Christian. He apologized and offered to comp us two free entrees w/protein on our next visit. Came back a few days later and sure enough they gave us our entrees free. Class act. Very clean. Great service. Nice Coke machine. And decent variety of salads, soups, sandwiches and pasta offerings. Will be back again.

LOVED my regular size penne rosa with parmesan cheese and TWO pieces of dried out, inedible shrimp. Seriously? What sucks is that it was to go so I didn't notice till later...

The vibes were very casual and laid back. I really like the variety of noodle dishes to choose from. The employees were very polite and friendly. I had the Japanese pan noodles and they were delicious. It was also really nice to have a beer with lunch even though it's a very family oriented restaurant. I'll definitely come back!

Terrible customer service! We ordered online, paid online, showed them our receipt where our account was charged and the cashier accused us of lying and made us pay for our food twice. Thankfully when we explained this to our bank, it was sorted out through them. Now the second time ordering online, their website says "skip the line", the email confirmation says "skip the line" so one would think this means that you can skip the line, grab your food and go (kind of the whole point of ordering online and picking up food). Apparently this was too much for the cashier to handle, and she decided to snap at us with an unbelievably nasty attitude and demand that we get behind 20 people, even though our food was sitting on the counter behind her. We will absolutely never deal with this location again after these two experiences. They really need to work on training their staff or perhaps hiring people who aren't completely inept.

Par for the Noodles & Co course here. The mac n cheese is good, not stellar but good. It's a pretty big location so you probably won't have trouble getting a seat here. Service was fine, again nothing to write home about. A meal here is quite cheap which is why I frequent Noodles & Co so much even though it's painfully average. Like I said, the mac n cheese is fine. The pasta was cooked well but Noodles & Co never seems to mix the cheese into the pasta, forcing you to do it instead. You end up with some pieces having a lot of cheese and some pieces being totally bland (it doesn't seem like they really butter the pasta). Meh.

We were out shopping in the area and stopped for an early bite to eat. I was pleasantly surprised at the quick service and high quality of my meal. I ordered a grilled chicken wrap with feta, olives, red pepper, Greek dressing and onion. It came with a cup of tomato bisque soup. The soup was creamy and rich with a delicious tomato broth. All of this for $6.99. It was quite a deal. My friend had the whole grain pasta and grilled chicken. She loved her dish too. Located in Congressional Plaza right on Rockville Pike. This is a great place to stop for a quick and hearty meal.

This restaurant is located in a nice strip mall. At lunch time it gets pretty busy. I saw the servers cleaning up the tables as soon as customers left. The cashier who took our order was very friendly. We ended up ordering penne rosa and pad Thai. The pad Thai was lacking in flavor. The penne rosa was okay. Overall the taste of the food was not that great. But the customer service was good and they do keep a clean environment. I might go there again to try their Mac & cheese or chicken noodle soup.

As second wave fast food goes,Noodles and Company is pretty good. I'm not sure why this place was jammed packed on a Wednesday at 6:30-- must have been the pre-Thanksgiving rush. They handled it well, and it moved along nicely. I like the pan noodles with beef. I've had it a few times at a few locations and N&C makes it well and it is consistently. My son loves their mac and cheese. I am not in love with those new choose any one of 1000 soda machines that this location has--they have been popping up all over. I am Pro Choice in all things, and god knows i appreciate being able to choose Caffene Free Diet Coke. But these machines create quite a line as patrons (like my kid) have to cycle through multiple changes to get their desired soda.

This Noodles and Co location is among the best! Their manager changed within the last year, and things improved dramatically. Consistency of their dishes from visit to visit and use of the appropriate ingredients and seasonings make this a favorite lunch spot of mine.

I have LOVED Noodles & Co since 2000-ish, when I lived in Denver, CO - which I think is where Noodles got their start. But this location makes the skimpiest orders. I have gone twice now, and don't think I'll be back. In the CO & VA locations, the noodles are so plentiful (as they should be given the name of the chain), I usually ordered the small & had leftovers. At this location, the large didn't fill me up. VERY DISAPPOINTING for a long time fan of the chain.

This location is one of the best locations I've been to. The staff is nice, the seating area is clean, and most importantly my food is made perfectly! I'm picky and usually have special requests to what I want and what I don't want in my food and they never mess that up!

Two stars for quick service and nice staff. My luck with to-go orders is 0 for 2. I ordered two dishes without sprouts. I opted for some other veggies to replace the sprouts. One order was right, but the other was not. Pad thai had literally one piece of egg in it. Gave some feedback on corporate website so we'll see if they respond. Management followed up and very apologetic, promised to make it right.

I went into this noodles and company yesterday and everything was fine till after I placed my order. There was no line only people waiting for their food. My order came out AFTER a party of 5 people. I literally had ordered a mac and cheese and a flat bread. My experience was just terrible. Not only was the staff rude they were unprofessional and apparently one of the workers was not wearing gloves. Can you believe these people?! NEVER going to this place again. Boycotting Noodles&Co.

Out with granddaughter doing errands and we needed a quick lunch, but not fast food. Noodles & Company is a nice compromise, fast service but decent food with healthier choices. We've been to the Rockville location many times and the food has been consistent and the service quite decent. The last time there I ordered a bowl of chicken noodle soup, GD had a small mac and cheese, plus we ordered 2 self-serve soft drinks. My soup was very good, a nice, rich broth with chunks of chicken and noodles cooked to just the right texture (I hate over-cooked noodles). GDs mac and cheese was rich and cheesy and she was quite happy with it. On previous visits we've had salads and they were good too. I am so glad I went with an 8 year-old as together we were able to navigate the super new (to me) touch screen soda dispenser (with husband it might have been a bit of a struggle). You start with a screen offering 16 or so different basic choices--root beer, diet coke, caffeine-free diet coke (why bother?), fruit punch, etc. After you make your first selection you go to a new screen which offers you different options for your drink of choice--vanilla coke, lime coke, etc. They also have wine and beer, and trust me I love a nice glass of wine, but I'd almost stick with soft drinks just to get to "play" with the soda dispenser.

Simple and consistent. Can't complain for a national chain. Granted I didn't go at a busy time. They are also good about modifying any ingredients, that was a huge plus for the picky eaters I went with.

My chicken noodle soup was very good. They have gluten free noodles, so that was a plus! My husband ordered the Thai Hot Pot soup & loved it. My only complaint is the plastic spoon! Too small! Why on earth don't you have real soup spoons?!?

  • Liz B.

Been to this location several times in the past few weeks. I really love the Thai Curry hot pot, my boyfriend usually enjoys meal too. A few things always bother me about this location though. 1.) No spoons. Every time I go they give me a plastic soup spoon. Really its just not cool, please order some real spoons. When I pay $10 for a big soup, I want a real spoon! 2.) There is always a line and mess at the soda station. There seems to be a lack of crowd flow planning. As the lids are on the other side from the soda machine so people get their drink then are reaching over everyone for their lid.

This location is really cold for some reason the AC was on winter time. The pork in the pork med salad was VERY salty I wouldn't recommend it. The dressing on the salad was pretty good. We ordered the Indonesian peanut sautée with chicken but they forgot to put the chicken on. The peanut sautée wasn't very flavorful and the broccoli wasn't very good it had a weird taste to it. The lettuce wrap was very small portion, they give 3 pieces of lettuce but I'm not sure how you divide that small portion up 3 ways. It isn't expensive but compared to entree sizes it's only cheaper by a dollar. They cater for large parties you can get an assortment of cuisines at one location! I like the Japanese pan noodles but I was in a rabbit mood today so did all the things with lots of veggies mixed in!

I come to this location often because I work close by. I came in tonight on a Friday evening right before 8pm on my 30 minute lunch break. There was only 1 family ahead of me in line and it took almost 10 minutes for me to order. Normally I wouldn't mind but there were probably about 6 people standing around behind the counter. I finally got my food, my lunch break half over and my food was not hot at all. The cheese on top wouldn't even melt. So I went back to the counter and told the lady who took my order. She said they would reheat it and I stood at the counter waiting. My food was reheated 5 minutes before they decided to hand it to me after they had to ask me what I was waiting on. When another lady handed me my food she asked if it was hot enough. It was in a to go box as I requested because my break was almost over. I said "I'm not sure, I hope so. I have to go." She very rudely told me I could check right now but I told her I had to get back to work. I won't be returning to this location.

One of my colleagues managed to score a free lunch for 4 of us at this Noodles and Company. I've heard a lot about this chain (both very positive and very negative,) but this was my first time going. The concept itself is pretty cool, so I was looking forward to the lunch. This Noodles and Company is in a mall, and parking is pretty difficult to find in the lot, just a heads up. It's extremely casual, with a bright interior and loud customers. (When we went, it was possibly some kind of children's day / birthday party as well, as half the restaurant was filled with kids when we visited, on a weekday afternoon.) The line was fairly long, but the staff moves people fast, so we only had to wait about 10 minutes to order. The set up here is that you order, and someone on the waitstaff will bring your food to your table once it is ready. I ordered the regular-sized Bangkok Noodles with tofu, and my 3 colleagues all ordered something different off the menu. As we waited for our food to come, we tried out the restaurant's super cool soda machine, which literally has hundreds of flavors and combinations to choose from (I ended up with some strange peach-water drink, but it was cool to be able to choose!) When our food came about 15 minutes later, the portions were MUCH bigger than expected. One regular-sized order of pasta can easily fill someone up for lunch and dinner. The food itself was "A-OK," as Yelp would say. It was your standard chain-restaurant Asian noodle dish. The tofu was cooked well and flavorful, and the noodles were perfectly al dente and delicious, but the rest of the dish (the bland, almost raw vegetables, mainly, and the lack of the "sweet coconut curry" sauce in the item description) was lacking. A heaping addition of Sriracha made the dish taste much better, so if you can handle the spice and are getting one of their Asian noodles, I'd recommend that! All of my colleagues had similar opinions about their dishes. Overall, for paying around $8 in at a mall chain restaurant for a humongous portion of all right noodles, it's worth settling for, if you can handle the bright and loud ambiance of Noodles and Company. I'd be interested in going back and trying one of the other types of noodles, just because the idea is so innovative, but my standards aren't too high.

It's rare that I'll write a review for a salad... but hey, that's what I got recommended to me. I ordered the BBQ chicken salad. Did the trick for a bit, but got hungry again not too long after. I'll prob get that as a starter next time and another dish, lol.

It's ok. I mean, it's kind of hard to mess up noodles, but somehow, they manage to do it. It's not terrible, but when you're craving comforting noodle-y food, this place doesn't seem to cut it. Their mac and cheese isn't great (the cheese just sits on top of the pasta and you just have to hope it melts properly), the mushroom stroganoff is WAY too salty and not very flavorful and their tofu has a weird taste to it. Service is also a little weird. When it's lunch hour, they're fairly quick, but come anytime after 12:59pm and you're bound to wait longer for your food. I have no idea why - they seem to be just as heavily staffed. I feel like this place is great for people with more sensitive (less adventurous) palettes who want to fool themselves into thinking they're eating exotic Thai cuisine and such.

The atmosphere of this place is very nice. The fact that they bring you the food and clean your table is very convenient. I would not call this a fast food restaurant. You will have to wait several minutes but not as long as most restaurants. I would call it a semi-fast food restaurant. The food is pretty well done. Most Noodles&Company are consistent including this location. My personal favorite is the Chili Mac, along with all the other Mac n Cheese dishes. My least favorites are some of the Asian dishes including the Pad Thai and the Bangkok Curry. One thing I noticed about this place is that it says it is handicap accessible. I agree that it is handicap accessible to enter the restaurant, but the public bathrooms in the back are past a narrow hallway. I recommend coming here. Food and service is great.

This is a review for the entire company as a whole...I've had my fair share of noodles and yes for the most part, I could really prepare ANY of the dishes that I've ate here, but lets be honest...when I'm on the go and I only have an hour or less for lunch that day, it doesn't hurt to grab something from here that's warm for a snowy day when I know I don't have a kitchen to prepare anything. The noodles seem to always be HALF cooked and I'm sure it's because they pour everything into one huge bowl and don't pay attention to the timing of how long the noodles have been boiling, but I guess what's worst is that most of the people working there are teenagers that are only concerned with getting their paychecks so they could care less about how well or poorly they've prepared your dish. The setting is just like any other food chain that's trying not to seem like a food chain (very Chipotle style inside), although I do like some of the photos that they have framed that's displayed at different locations around the globe. For the most part you could just save your money & buy something from somewhere with more quality made food or grocery stores, like Whole Foods.

The Congressional Shopping Center Noodles and Company is a great place to order food if you have a picky eater. They are willing to alter any of the dishes to accommodate you! I've ordered ahead to pick up as well as in the restaurant and always had a perfect order. Parking is easy and there is plenty of seating. The restaurant is always clean and pretty quiet. I'm a fan of their pad thai and mac and cheese. I stop in at least once a month for dinner with friends or to get food to go.

I went to this place for a quick lunch, oh it was a quick lunch alright. We went in and ordered what we wanted and the bill came to $28 for 3 people, pretty pricey for a restaurant that's somewhat considered fast food. I ordered the Chinese Chop Salad ( recommended by the cashier for its so called "More taste/flavor") with chicken breast. The food came pretty quick. The chicken looked good but there wasn't much taste. I chowed through the salad waiting for the "More taste/flavor" to kick in unexpectedly... but it never kicked in until the very last piece of chicken i had which was sitting on the bottom/ middle of my plate with a little bit of dressing on it. NOT WHAT I EXPECTED!! It looks good but defiantly did not taste good. Overall I would not recommend you order an Asian dish at an American restaurant. Maybe some of the other dishes are better.

Casual place, VERY fast service, very creative artist-y interior (check out the ceiling and counters) and good food. Not incredible, but good. I agree with another Yelper- avoid the Mac N Cheese. But, everything else we've eaten at was just fine. And, it's affordable, and a perfect after-movie place if you're on a budget. (the Regency Theater multiplex is just across the street).

She said..." Noodles and Company is a place to go to if your in the mood for a quick pasta dish. The bowls are typically pretty big and filling. I like this place because you can choose everything you want in your pasta. The type of pasta, the sauce, the meat, seasoning...everything. Its like a subway but for pasta" He Said..."I had the Mac and Cheese with chicken and maybe it was just the staff having a bad day but my mac was cold and to make it colder the smart monkey cooking threw cold shredded cheese on it. What a genius. Good part about my ordeal was that while I was on the phone with my girlfriend telling her how the hairless monkey was rude to her staff, she heard my conversation and gave me a 10 dollar gift card. Some redemption...yay"

It's alright if you're starving. If you aren't, I wouldn't try it. I tried their Mac N Cheese which was pretty tasteless, heir butter noodles (not bad), spaghetti (alright), and chicken parmesan (alright). It's crazy busy during lunch time, and this place is OK if you are looking for something quick to eat. If not, go to a restaurant or even to Whole Foods; you'll find something better. One rave - I like their rice krispie treat!

  • Ron H.

I've tried this place twice and both times it's just slightly better than staying at home and cooking ramen noodles. It's only slightly better because you don't have to do dishes when you eat out. Honestly how can u mess up potstickers, beef stroganoff or pad thai? People who love this place must have one of their senses broken. It it so bland that even an Englishman would be offended.

1 star = good vegetable chow mein, 1 star = good kung pao chicken, and 1 star = awesome containers that I can reuse and are washable. :) No stars for service or atmosphere.

This is a good place with affordable lunch prices and a nice selection. The mushroom mac n cheese was very tasty and fresh. The Caesar side salad was also good. This is a good lunch spot in an area with plenty of options. I will be back as long as I can find a ride!

Love the mac and cheese, especially when they have "special" variations of it (they have "truffle mac" I think, and they've had a "cheeseburger mac" before). Unfortunately, it makes my waistline a little chunkier, which is undesirable, but as an occasional meal, definitely go for the mac and cheese!

  • Michael S.

I live across the street, but other than that I can't justify ever coming here. WOW that was a little harsh, I think the problem is this place has good recipes and ideas but bad execution. That is probably due to the fact that it's pretty much run by high school kids who couldn't care less about quality. I really like the idea of the new Asparagus Lemon Linguine dish they have on the menu. I think adding grilled chicken with feta makes it leaps and bounds better. It's the execution that kills it for me, but maybe it's just this location. Since it's in season I have been sticking with this but I also like the Thai Curry Soup. I'm a big fan of Asian everything, but you knew that.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
