What changes Bimbo hath wrought since the takeover! While the cheerful little white bear now keeps the store open an hour later (closing at 5 pm instead of 4) and for seven days a week (instead of closing on Sundays likes a famed chicken fillet sandwich chain), such convenience has come at a price. Literally. The Dollar Donuts have gone the way of the rotary phone, undergoing a 50% price increase. And the price of three loaves of bread, bagels, or buns have jumped from $4.00 to $5.00. All in all, it's still a considerable discount from the retail sticker price, and unlike other bakery outlets (Hello, Pepperidge Farm?), Entenmann's never sells anything past it's expiration date.

The good : they have all sorts of Entenmann's product. The bad: there is an overwhelming sweet chemical smell in there. I was overcome by this to the point where I couldnt stick around to browse beyond what I knew I wanted. But the other customers and employees didnt seem to notice it. Anyways, the smell is not bad enough to prevent me from coming if I know what I want.

Umm.... anyplace that sells 3 Entenmann's raspberry danishes for 6 dollars is a friend of mine. I can not tell you how many times I've A) Been around the store when it's closed B) Seen and thought... its dangerous for me to go in there. This place gives you the BEST deals on bread products - no joke about it. There's no getting a RISE from these prices. You'll just be DOUGHY eyed at the deals. You'll be happier than receiving a bouquet of FLOURS. Also, they had a rack of donut boxes ( 6 in a pack) each 1 dollar. You heard me right ONE DOLLAR. How do they offer these prices. The products are a little bit older and are overflow from the warehouse. Plus... if you are making hamburger or hot dogs. Get your buns here! Best deal on buns I've ever seen too!

UPDATE 5/13/14. Dropping my rating from 4* to 3*. A year later, and prices are up again (25% on one of their core products). Now it's $2/bread product, 3/$5. Desserts $2.50 or 3/$7. Donuts up to $1.50. Still good buys compared to the ridiculous pre-printed prices on the name-brand labels, but getting close enough to everyday store-brand prices for most of the breads that it's no longer worth a special trip.

For $11, we got 3 things of danish and 5 loaves of various bread. Can't go wrong with that.

I bought a $2 loaf of bread on 6/22/12, went straight home, didn't leave it in the car, and opened up the package on 6/23/12 morning and found moldy slices... it wasn't dated to expire for a week. I called to ask them about that and the employee who answered the phone tried to accuse me of leaving it in the car then said they couldn't do anything for me since I threw out my receipt... who keeps a receipt for a $2 loaf of bread? Lame. Never going back. Heed my warning y'all!

Heaven for bread lovers...much like myself! $1 loaves that would make Jesus proud...a bread loaf in every basket! Check the dates is my only advice...Thomas' English Muffins, Sandwich Thins, Weight Watchers thingees, oh, yeah, and the raspberry danish strip... Check it out, my bread lovers!

Aaaah Funemployment... but where does the money go? Now that I'm counting the pennies, I have to find alternative sources of nutrition. Goodbye Whole Foods. Hello Entenmann's Bakery Outlet! Spend $20, and get 3 free items from the manager's table! My freezer is now packed with $1 pound cake and dozens of donuts... Grape Jelly for PB&J? $1.00!! They have bagels, bread, chips, cakes, animal crackers, and a cashier who has a bit of a Mickey Rourke thing going on. My friend and I left with the car packed with more bags than I could carry for under $30. keywords: budget cheap poverty poor hungry inexpensive wholesale

$1 loaves of bread that would easily cost $4-5 in the grocery store. Not to mention a box of eight donuts - 2 glazed, 2 chocolate, 2 crumb and 2 plain for just $1. Sure, the plain and chocolate donuts were broken but who cares?! Wholeness does not affect taste, and I only wanted the glazed and crumb donuts anyway. They also have an assortment of pies, cakes and cookies that for just $2.25. A few have cosmetic defects, like the occasional cracked pumpkin pie or broken cookie, but all looked perfectly tasty.

I can't pass up a good deal. The last time I went here all bread was $1 - Arnold, Thomas' English Muffins, Bagels & more! Even when they're not $1, they're stil lower than the sale prices at the regular grocery stores. They also have Entenmann's Pastries, Cakes and Donuts, which I used to purchase occastionally - but now try to walk by quickly - especially when they are being offered for 2/$1. I do pause at the boxes of different varieties of Good Earth Teas for $2.99. Like Hannah C wrote, there is a guy there who kind of reminds me of Mickey Rourke in The Wrestler. He's nice and has let me in when I've arrived right at closing time (weekdays 5pm), especially if I pout a little outside of the locked door.

Raspberry Danish Twist for $1.00?! Yes, that's right! This is an outlet store, so you've got to check expiration dates on some things. The danish I bought for one dollar has a sell by date two days away. No problem if it's for a picnic tomorrow! The same item with a further away sell by date is $2.50. They carry a variety of items such as bread, rolls, mini-bite brownies, Thomas' Engish muffins and their mini chocolate chip cookies. This is a good place to pick up inexpensive treats if you're entertaining a large crowd.

I cannot believe I found moon pies :) I have been looking for them all over the places. They are cheap too.

It is a bit strange to have bread outlet on Rockville pike, but here it is. They are selling not so perfect looking bread for Pepperidge Farm and some other brand name bread with a discount from 20% to 50% off the regular price. I am all-for-it of not wasting our resource especially comes to food. We already wasted so much of everything. It is good the company had find some channel to sell their by-products. The only thing is people have to make a trip to this store.
