I totally love this place. I had the salmon with mushroom potatoes, crispy manti, eggplant salad, mushroom soup, bread and a Plov. I gave the staff feedback about the naan bread. It's pretty good except it is probably warmed in the microwave so they brought fresh bread warren in the regular over. Big difference!! and I'm very appreciative how they listen to feedback. I will keep coming back over and over again. The staff and the owners are awesome!

I've been here several times, once at the old location and two times at the new, larger site in the same area. You have to be prepared for the fact that Silk Road is a favorite of the local Russian community and every time I have been here there was a big, good natured, loud party of about 30 people swilling vodka (BYO) in amounts I could not imagine. In the new larger space, there is room for dancing and that happens too as the night goes on. This is a loud, cheerful place, but not for an intimate, quiet meal. If you're OK with that (I am), this is a great place. Food comes in small plates, you can order kabobs individually and get a variety of meats. Rice dishes are deliciously savory. Don't miss the salads too, especially the one with the carrot threads. Prices are fairly low, so order a bunch of small plates and several types of kabobs and share them around the table. Even when there is a big party, you probably won't wait too long for food. I can't speak for what Uzbek food is like generally, but if this is representative, it's really delicious. I liked everything I had each time I have come and really enjoyed the lively atmosphere. Don't miss it.

Wonderful new location! Love the Central Asian themed decor and nice big space, though wish it had more natural light. The central floor is so big I'm wondering if they have parties here on weekend nights, I'll have to come back to find out.... The food was also great - super authentic, good portions, reasonably priced. I was especially pleased to have some fresh kompot juice, with blueberries in it and all! As a Russian-American always looking for more home-style options in the area, this is a good one!

What can I say? This place was much more better one year ago. And I'm not saying about food or interior. SERVICE!!! Servers doesn't care about customers at all. I was trying to call someone but everybody was ignoring me. And I was shocked when instead of coming to my table she prefer to go and change song on computer. If you don't care about service but care about you should definitely come here, because food is really delicious especially manti, love it.

The service was lacking but the food was pretty good. Kind of a strange ambiance, almost like a banquet hall. Tried to return with a group of friends but there was a private event and no space for us, so that was disappointing. Make a reservation! Love the BYOB!

This was our first time eating this type of food and it was great! My son and I, navigated our way through the menu and decided on the eggplant salad, crispy manti with beef filling and lamb Kabobs and another dish with beef and lamb over rice with sautéed carrots. It was all fresh and delicious. The waitress was friendly and courteous. Thank goodness for yelp, we would never had had this experience while on a lacrosse tournament.

Large space, great prices, BYO policy, really good food and friendly staff. Silk Road's definitely going into the rotation. The menu's a good cross section of The Turkic-influenced foods of the Middle and Far East. And there's not a thing on there that we ordered that wasn't fresh, well-seasoned, and delicious. One the surprising favorites of the evening was a simple Tashkent salad with radish, cucumber, tomato, dill, feta, and a dash of vinaigrette. Nine times out of ten, this comes swimming in watery tomato and cucumber juice but this had been salted and drained, with fresh feta and chopped dill perfectly proportioned with the veg. I like the structure of the menu, too. Way too many places like this want to combine things into platters. Here, it's super easy to order a table full of food to share. Kababs are ordered by the skewer with salads portioned to share. Sides and hot/cold small plates/appetizers are ordered separately so you can mix and match to suit your whim. There's maybe a half-dozen entree "plates", the rest is a la carte. And, unlike trendy small-plate eateries, you can order up a ton of food for not a lot of dosh. Our salad, steamed pumpkin dumplings with onion and yogurt sauce, three kababs (marinated lamb, calves liver, and veg), pastry filled with spiced ground beef, and huge pot of good hot green tea came to about $30 with tax. And it was enough to fill the two of us up comfortably. I can see grabbing a half-dozen friends, a bottle of Zubrowka or Raki and a chilled dry Tokaji Furmint, and making an evening of things here.

I began going to Silk Road at its original small space. Even though I live in New Jersey, I make sure to go here each month when I am visiting my parents. In their new, more spacious location, the food is of the same excellent quality. Be sure to order a pitcher of the fruit punch and insist that they keep the fruit compote in the pitcher. It is delicious. The mushrooms and potatoes combo is fantastically original and tasty. Almost all of the kabobs and salads are delicious, with a special kudos for anything they serve with eggplant. The staff is friendly and helpful. I have gotten to know most of them, including a charming Armenian waitress. I plan to keep going back and telling my old high-school friends about Silk Road.
