Hey For $3.50 YOU GET A SNACK PACK!!! which consist of small popcorn small drink and airhead candy. I was sold! Now we all know the movie theatre has become quite the pocket drainer. I'm all for the high end $$$ movies, but sometimes you may feel like being a little nostalgic. Pikes Cinema is exactly what you need. This two theatre establishment is so cute and classic I will definitely go back. I took the kiddies to see Jurassic World which happen to be showing in 3D. The quality was actually good and so was the sound. There is plenty of parking in the rear, and if you are in the mood for a bite to eat the restaurant is attached. Pikes has it figured out, give the people who don't need all the hype of the big chain theatres a place to go that is comfortable, quite intimate and still has quality entertainment. I enjoyed Pikes and will certainly be back.

Nothing exceptional but nothing to complain about either. Had dinner there once with a group of six and ordered carry out crabs and appetizers an other time. A good value for the dollar and very pleasant.

Me and my wife decided to come here after my wife got her hair done. We've been here before years ago. I was surprise to see the size of the portions. I decided to get the cat fish platter with a side of stewed tomatoes and mashed potatoes. My wife decided on the western omelette with peper jack cheese but came out with stringy Mozarella cheese. After speaking to the manager we decided we would never come to this establishment again. This establishment is not customer friendly.

This place was a pleasant little surprise! We came here on a Sunday afternoon when there was a long wait at First Watch and Mari Luna's. A very eclectic menu (think diner meets sports bar meets taco joint) with cinema-style decor. Leave your uppity attitude at the door. The Baltimore Club sandwich was fab-- lump crabmeat and shrimp salad (U15s!) with BLT on marbled rye. Sig O's steak and enchiladas wasn't his fave, but he's a bit wimpy when it comes to the spicy. We got to watch multiple football games, too! And the service was fantastic and friendly. Couldn't be happier for our Sunday lunch.

What a waste of time, shame on me for still trying to try this spot even after reading the reviews. I wanted and western omelette with pepper jack cheese but it came to table with stringy cheese. The waitress told the manager but the manager stated that if the chef said he used pepper jack cheese than that was that... To scared to come to table. Lesson learned ...I will trust the previous reviews from now on. Since when is pepper jack cheese STRINGY? Smh So the manager finally came to table with an attitude saying he comped the meal. Really when I sent it back with only two bites eaten? Then he says that "he is sorry that I'm not used to the pepper jack cheese they use" my reply "pepper jack is suppose to be spicy, the cheese used was not spicy but stringy". He continue to repeat that if the chef said he used pepper jack it is what it is. The manager's indifference to the situation has truly made me to vow to never to return. If a chef don't know the difference between cheeses. I will have to question anything he fix.

This was a great little restaurant. I thought the restaurant and movie theatre were one combined place so we didn't giver ourselves too much time to eat dinner before our movie started We told our waiter that we had to eat quickly so that we could get to our movie and he did everything he could to see that we got out of there on time. When my wife placed an order for something that would take longer to cook - he let her know so that she could make a decision as to whether that was really what she wanted. I enjoyed an enchilada dinner with a side salad. Both were very good. The theater is also very nice - small, but stadium seating. I will definitely be going back to both the restaurant and the theater.

I love their burgers. So tasty. The place looks a little old but the fact that the service is wonderful and the burgers are top notch, it doest matter. I definitely recommend this place. I am not a big fan of the cornbeef, you would have to be the judge on that one.

I've eaten here loads of times I don't know why this place has so many negative reviews. We have never eaten a bad meal here. Service and food are always swift and pleasant. They have a great prime rib. I'm really fond of the bang bang shrimp. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside yum.

I love the Pikes! I wwnt there last summer, a month after I graduated and had surgery. My grandmother met me and my brother there. We would go to the movies and then we would go to the restaurant. The next time we just went to the restaurant. Their food is so good and the service is fantastic! I will be staying there during the summer for the crabs lol!

I went here this past weekend and was surprised at how good the food was!! I got a burger with fries which came to $9.99. I got the burger with pineapples, teriyaki sauce, and provolone cheese. (It comes with Pepper Jack cheese but opted for the provolone instead) The burger was amazing!!! Cooked very well and was by far the best burgers I have ever had. The fries on the other hand were just Meh. There really wasn't any seasoning on it but it still wasn't that bad. I would definitely come back for their burgers if nothing else.

Wish I could give a negative star! Ordered eggs, sausage, grits, and pancakes for breakfast this morning. I clearly told the waitress I wanted the sausage extra well done, but when it was served, it was obviously barely cooked. When I told the waitress, she said she had conveyed my message, but the cook seemed to ignore her, and she and my eating companion agreed it was undercooked. So she sent it back. After I finished the rest of my meal(!), the sausage was finally brought back. It was cooked more, but it didn't taste right. As in spoiled! I should have complained, but was in a hurry to get out of there, because the waitress had disappeared and left us to fend for ourselves. As the day progressed, I felt worse (nauseous), and vomited at about 6pm, then again at 9pm. Just called and spoke to Chris, one of the managers. I told him this story, that the result was food poisoning, and that I planned to call the Health Department, He brusquely told me there was nothing he could do, and that if the cook said he cooked the sausage, he did! He told me that if I had food poisoning, I needed to go to the hospital. No apology. No sympathy. I WILL complain to the Health Department, but be VERY WARY of eating here. That sausage was definitely spoiled. Also, the bathrooms were a mess: No hand soap, no paper towels (dispenser wasn't working), and no toilet paper. (Do the kitchen staff wash their hands?) I grew up in Pikesville (my address used to be the same as the Doubletree's), and never got sick from eating at any Pikesville restaurant--before this!

Sorry Scott.....but Pikes is booty. It is so overpriced it makes me sorta angry. I just ordered 2 egg n' cheese on wheat......$13.65. WTF Yo. Bread, cheese and 1 egg for $6.75+ Serious? I can get the same thing WITH MEAT (if ate meat anyway) for 3 bucks down the street. I don't get it. Someone else here in my office ordered a veggie omelet and a soda. $14.03. Burnt eggs, skimpy on the cheddar......and $14 bucks. Don't even get me started on the Elvis guy that is outside singing each Thursday. People seem to like that though so it's cool. Come, watch Elvis......but eat somewhere else!!!!!!!!!

We took my cousin to dinner for his birthday on Saturday night 12/15/12. We got there at about 5:30 pm for an early, less crowded meal. We have been there in the past and enjoyed the food, decor, and service. Within 5 minutes, my husband and I were thinking they had changed owners. Missing were the delicious displays of dessert and the pop culture souvenirs and gift area. Our waitress was upbeat, polite, and very attentive. It was all downhill from there. The menu was very limited. Gone was the multi-page menu with a fun variety of anything one could have had a taste for. We ordered the Chicken Chesapeake and my cousin ordered ribs and chicken. The Chicken Chesapeake was terrible. The chicken was dry and almost gray? The alleged crab imperial topping was runny and the cheese topping was hard and seemed "old". The band was setting up for their 8:00 pm performance and the few diners must have been in the way. The band members and manager were all but pushing our table out of the way for the elaborate show set up. The final straw was no desserts other than a store bought pecan rolls or as our waitress was recommending, a milkshake. I did not feel well for the rest of the night and felt we wasted the $89.00 on the check. We did tip well as our waitress was definitely not the problem. We are crossing Pikes Diner off of our list for a good place to go for good food. Sad.

I was with a large group of friends (almost 20) for the all you can eat steamed crabs and boy did we get our monies worth. The soup was steaming hot, the corn was sweet and the crabs were out of this world. To top it off our server was the best and we are not an easy group. We will definately be back!

The bison burgers are the best in town. There are many options to choose from. I ordered #9, bacon, fried egg( which was cooked perfectly) and caramelized onions. It was perfectly cooked and delicious. I will be back. The maryland crab soup is legit also. This is a great spot to eat and hang out. Our waiter Rafael was attentive and presented a gorgeous dessert tray. He recommend his favorite, the dark chocolate mousse, which was Devine.

Found myself passing through, and the wide range of reviews drew me here for a late breakfast. The breakfast menu was fine, but since it's always noon somewhere, I asked the server if she preferred breakfast or lunch. Smiling, she revealed a sandwich not yet on the menu....the Baltimore Club. Crab cake, shrimp salad, bacon, L&T. Wow. Anyway, I can get breakfast tomorrow, and that sandwich sounded soooo good. Luckily, she took my lunch order at 10AM. Sipped tea whilst scanning the high-ceilinged room to soak it all in. Elvis, Marilyn, Akroyd, Belushi, Betty Boop (multiples!), Sammy Davis Jr., Dino, Frank. Curly, Larry & Moe scowling on the wall. Faux marble, comfy booths, movie posters, a popcorn machine. Somebody had fun putting this place together. Annie Lennox, Santana, Chicago on FM wafting above my head. Hey, I'm old but I'm not dead yet. So, the sandwich? Sublime. Messy to eat but the combination is great. Somebody cares in this kitchen. Even the mac n cheese demonstrated some extra care. Topping it off, the slightly sweet coleslaw included diced apples. I regret I don't live closer. I'd be here once a week. Thanks, Yelp. Oh, yes. The people are friendly. What's not to like?

As a huge diner fan- this place disappoints. Wierd decor, slow service, burger I could have cooked better myself (small too), we won't be back anytime soon.

The old Pikes Theater has been restored as the Pikes Diner-but there is still a movie screen. In fact, there is a lot of original charm intact- the art deco architecture and memorabilia is pretty cool. Think Three stooges, Betty Boop, Elvis.. Well I came to see a few bands--and kudos to whoever does the booking--because there are always good local acts coming through The Pikes. It is a nice place to see a performance because there are lots of booths, you can get food and drinks, and there's dancing room! There aren't too many places like this in the county, especially that stay open late and let bands rock on late night. If you have a friend whose band is playing here, you should go-- you'll have a good time--just eat beforehand. It's diner food with a Baltimore twist. Three people in my party got quesadillas and enjoyed them (2 got chicken, another got shrimp.) They actually said they were pretty awesome. I ordered the crab dip. It may have been the weirdest crab dip presentation I've ever seen- it was three slices of sourdough bread topped with crab dip (which was good but really creamy and not too crabby) and surrounding a sad pile of crab chips. Interesting. I also ordered the large garden salad but was brought a large Greek salad. I didn't complain, because I like Greek salad and I was hungry, but still- it was wrong. The salad was just OK. The thing that really bothered me was that we ate at around 7:45 pm. We stuck around and hung out and drank until around 12:30 am because we were there to see the music. Our dishes from our food that we finished around 8:15 were never cleared (we got drinks from the bar)-so we were left to sit with our dirty dishes at our table all night. I guess its not that huge of a deal- but it was kind of gross and weird. Overall- nice place to see a friend perform, but you can find a better meal elsewhere in the area--like Mari Luna or Mr Chan's.

First time here on Sunday afternoon and really wasn't impressed. As soon as you walk in, the place reeks from burning oil.Lunch menu on a Sunday should still include breakfast items, which it didn't. Menu had a lot of Mexican food on it, not sure why at a diner. Menu is very plain and no excitement on it or interesting menu suggestions. I ordered a burger and fries and a side order of onion rings, both were pretty good as I enjoy good breaded onion rings. My friend had chicken salad on a Kaiser roll and side of fries.the fries were mediocre at best,no flavor at all. Atmosphere is ok with tv's at the bar and different movie posters on the walls.a small screen on the wall, but no movie playing. The place needs a better menu with more variety and description.it needs a better hood system too too filter out the smell of the oil. I don't plan to return.

We really loved our experience. The service was great and friendly. I had the bison burger and the wife had mussels, crab soup , and garlic crabs. We will return as they also serve breakfast. A movie house is opening in late September so we will be back.

If I had pulled up Yelp and looked at the one review this place has, I would have never chosen to come here and would have missed out on a great meal and a great experience. That's what happens when you go to a place with the wrong expectations - what do you expect from a diner/restaurant inside of a rehabbed mid 20th century movie-house, the dollar menu? Baltimore is known as Charm City - this is one of the reasons why. Pikes is nestled on Reisterstown Road in historic downtown Pikesville, a northwest suburb of Baltimore City. The ambiance is charming, with lots of nostalgic touches and nods to the days of yesteryear - some nice Betty Boop and Marilyn Monroe statues, caricature drawings of old strip comics like Dagwood, and artwork of comedians like the three stooges and laurel and hardy. Seating is mostly old school booths, and the pace has a stage where live music is performed regularly. Finally, Elvis is represented with art and regular performances by impersonators and homages (not during the day). My girl and I went today, not wanting the lines for Miss Shirley's, Pete's Grille, or Blue Moon Cafe. We were seated quickly and presented with a robust menu (I will be back for the Chicken Chesapeake). We selected breakfast options since it was Sunday morning; a steak omelet for her, pancakes with apples and a side of turkey sausage for me. By the way, they make a pretty decent cup of coffee. Our food came in good time, and boy was it good! The omelet was done well, hot and fluffy. The steak was actually high class steak-um, but good nonetheless. The potatoes she ordered came sliced moderately thick and fried up with onions - a nice take on hash. My pancakes were light and fluffy, and the apples were delicious - the topping resembled a homemade chunky applesauce. The food portions were generously sized we didn't finish it all. Now the price is little high - $7.00 for a plain stack of pancakes; $9.00 for mine with apples, but you're paying for the experience too...a gorgeous slice of history and charm of an old time diner inside a renovated old school movie-house. Give it a try; makes a great date (especially if you catch the live music) and experience.
