My favorite sandwich spot! I usually get the corned beef, slaw, and thousand island dressing on rye and it's fan-freaking-tastic. This sandwich is huge and packed with fresh ingredients. The $9.99 special is totally worth it but you might need a nap after or try to save half! The staff is really nice and the store also has wonderful chocolates!

Simply put, as GREAT as it gets. I was in Pikeville around lunchtime and asked a client for a good Deli. Without hesitation she said Edmart. I had the corned beef, coleslaw and Russian dressing on rye lunch special for $9.99 w/chips and soda. Full, lean, creamy and incredibly flavorful; and, I am an expert on corned beef for 50+ years! Whether DC (Bassin's, Hofberg's or Parkway) or Baltimore (Attman's for sure), this is as good as it gets. Be sure to save a few extra minutes to speak to Shelley and learn the history. Be sure to ask her for a Ginger cookie!

I love Mom and Pop shops; they are so dope. There is always so much history and in my experience the owners are always so very cool. Edmart is located on Reisterstown Road, signage isn't that big, can't say that it is too easy to spot from the road. Parking is metered, there are a couple of spots out front of the store. Once inside, you have an awesome deli. Everything in the fridge section is house made, and then there is the deli section. The menu has about 8-10 sandwiches... on this date, I got the smoked turkey breast on a Kaiser roll. This sandwich was so very fresh, I haven't had a sandwich that fresh in some time. The lunch special is pretty good, sandwich, chips, and soda for less than 10 bucks. The store has been in the family for over 60 years and they make sure to learn your name! I love it! If I'm ever in the area I'm going back. Yummers!

Definitely Kosher as there wasn't a pig to be found, but no worries, you'll still have a delicious lunch from here!!

Drove down from Newark De to try this Jewish deli, in Pikesville Md. Very underwhelming from a sandwich and salad standpoint. The meat tasted like something from Boar's Head that I have bought and made my own pastrami and corn beef sandwich. The cole slaw had no taste and the potato salad was bland and ruuny. I was very disappointed that I drove through traffic on a Sat. and came here for a sandwich that I could have made better at home. I don't know if the corn beef and pastrami were made at the store but they were not hot and steamed as in most authentic Jewish Deli's. The price was not a factor but the quality was. The owner, Shelly, who I spoke to was very friendly and extremely nice but I was there for the sandwich which was way over rated. The 4th Street Deli in Philadelphia puts this place to shame. So disappointed and will not return. Steve S

We had the most amazing trip to the Edmart today! After seeing them on tv we drove a little out of our way to try the brisket and it was well worth it. The sandwich was incredible. It was the best brisket I ever had. Duff was right! The shop is adorable. They have all kinds of goods and a big assortment of potato chips. I love chips. I also tried a brisket knish. I've never had anything like it. It was layers of light, flaky dough, and yummy brisket filling. The potato knishes were out of this wold too. There is another great feature to the store. Shelley welcomed us with her warm presence. She made great suggestions and was in no way overbearing. The counter staff were hysterical. It was like watching a 1950's movie. We left loaded with goodies. I'm trying the corned beef for dinner. Can't wait to come back!

Best deli I've had in a long time. Great sandwiches, home made potato salad and coleslaw. Ask for the old pickles if you like them sour. This place really lives up to its reputation.

I got the lunch special which is a sandwich, canned soda, and chips for $10 plus tax. Above average sandwich, above average staff. felt like the sandwich was a little pricey. Seemed like the owners are owner-operators...they were happy I was there---i love the warm and fuzzies. Awesome pickles. 3.5 stars!

I would definitely return. Had a chopped liver sandwich on 6/11/15. It was good enough. But what really sold me was how welcomed I was made to feel and how authentic this deli is. Like a blast from one's ethnic neighborhood past--if you need a "fix" go nowhere else.

Great food, nice people. What a treat! The corned beef and the turkey are my favorites. And don't forget a potato knish!

So I was sick and in search of the cure all for any illness...matzah ball soup. Trust me, for some reason it just cures everything. Found this place on yelp. What's that!?!? They have amazing brisket!?I'm all in. Packed up and rolled out. When you walk in this place has the feel of an old school Jewish deli in NY. I went with the brisket on rye wit mustard. Why? Because you have to, it's tradition. I saw some reviews that were complaining about having to get cheese on the side. Number one, you better come correct and brush up on the Jewish culture. Meat and dairy are not served together, so your lucky to even get cheese. Number 2, the people behind the counter were very sarcastic so you better bring a sense and humor. Back to the brisket...OY! It was moist and flavorful and carver right out of the oven and the rye bread was really good. My wife went with the roast beef and it was solid as well. While we were sitting there, they kept bringing us stuff to try. I felt like I was at a Jewish grandmother's house! The cole slaw was pretty solid but I will tell you, that chopped liver was to die for. I highly recommend it. It's really rich and had a slight minerally taste to it. I believe it even had egg in it which was different for me. Of course they have a fridge unit stocked with matzah ball soup. It was really good soup. The matzah balls were really buttery, it was perfect. Just what I was looking for. This place was fantastic and I will absolutely return. We went for lunch so you got a sandwich, kosher chips and a drink for $10! It was great. For that price and quality this was by far the best brisket I have had in the city; it was also the best matzah ball soup I have had here too. Go git you some! Ess gesunt!

A lady friend and I decided to try Edmart for the first time for some corned beef sandwiches. Needless to say, we LOVED it and will definitely be coming back. The store owners were extremely friendly; one even gave the two of us two chocolate-covered peanut butter candies to go with our halvah. $10 for a great sandwich, chips, pickle, and a drink might be a little on the pricier side at some delis, but the combination of superior food quality and service makes this a great deal IMO.

Only been there a few times for the brisket sandwich & it is very tasty. I think it could be a little more substantial for the price though. Asked if I could buy a sliced pound of it to take home & they said it was 26.00 bucks . Too much $ so I did not get it.

I really enjoy this place. The sandwiches are top notch, and the staff is happy to be of service. The owner of the establishment, Shelley, is a delight. She always has a good demeanor towards her costumers, and is always good to talk to. I would recommend this place for lunch!

Love this place!!! Their corned beef sandwich was to DIE for and whatever that sauce they put on it could have been served in a tub and I still wouldn't have gotten enough. They gave us some pate to sample and were even nice to us after we ordered a ham sandwich for our daughter...."uh miss, we don't serve ham here".... Will be back and will not order pork products this time!!

Basically ran into this place while i was in pikesville, small mom pop shop. Me and the wife go in and they have polish polka music playing.! They gave us samples of everything we we wanted. We settled on the NY Brisket sandwich , and A Pastrami.. OMG the Pastrami was to die for,, the workers were extremely friendly and kept talking to us and telling us stories of his favorite NY Jewish Deli. The only reason I give it 4 stars cause 2 sandwiches for $20 is a little steep. I will definitely be going back though. Highly recommend.

We are originally from NY and have lived in MD for sixteen years and we were in the area and had a longing for a good deli sandwich. I searched Yelp and came across Edmart and so happy we did. We wanted to sit and have lunch and when we walked in I thought that wouldn't be possible. We were advised by a lovely lady at the register that there were tables in the back and to have a seat. We were greeted by a very friendly gentleman who took our order. The food was delicious and the people that work there were wonderful. So much so that I gave a hug goodbye to the woman up front when we left. She asked if we would be back and I gave a big yes.

If you have not eaten here, you're missing out. The potato knish is the best thing here. Go get one, have them heat it, and put brown mustard on it. Ed Mart is a small deli, but the food is fresh, good, and always delivers a delicious punch. The people that work there have been there forever. They are really friendly, and I always feel welcome whenever I go. I suggest parking in the back so you don't have to try to get a space out front.

There are a lot of 5 star reviews but something must be pretty spectacular for 5 stars to me. This is not to criticize Edmart. I have been wanting to check out some of the Jewish Delis near my work in Northwest Baltimore and there are so many it can be overwhelming. Through my yelp research i selected Edmart. I ordered the Brisket with tomato, mayo, lettuce, and mustard. The meat was moist and flavorful and the bread was slightly spicy and very moist and soft. Delicious sandwich. The staff was accommodating and helpful and made me feel comfortable in a neighborhood deli that typically attracts regulars in the area. All in all I was very satisfied but feel they could bring their price down a little possibly.

The food here is absolutely five stars, but the prices are a little high, otherwise I would give them five. Really, that's the only flaw. It's a classic deli with character. I think they've been in the same place for 50 years and that they're still going just shows their popularity with the community. My first time there I didn't know it was a kosher deli and asked for cheese on my sandwich (I'm not Jewish). He said he couldn't do that, but that he could give me cheese separately wrapped. Of course, that's kosher law. I was impressed -- it shows they have integrity, and value that above trying to please all customers and maximize profits. And really, you don't need cheese to make it taste better. Their meats are tasty enough alone.

Love the chopped liver but had very fatty and expensive brisket. Pretty rude person at deli. I will pass on this place.
(2)Kelly K.
I had a good pastrami sandwich from here. But the star here is the knish. Best spinach knish I ever had. I will return to try all the different knishes.
(4)Susan M.
The sandwiches were pretty good. The owner was very friendly but the man making the food was pretty rude to us. We left feeling like we had roundly been made fun of and made to feel like a bother. The man approached my husband to see what he wanted to order. My husband said he was waiting for me to decide. And the man seriously said "How am I supposed to get you anything if you won't tell me what you want?" Sorry man for wasting your time by figuring out what we wanted to order in a place we've never been. When we finally gave him our order he rolled his eyes at "no mustard". I guess its a giant hassle to not like mustard. Anyway, we will not be going back.

I don't see the high reviews here. Corned beef sandwich expensive, medium sized and mediocre. Guy making the sandwich acted like he had better things to do while the apparent owner was very friendly.
(3)Mark S.
Top notch deli but you pay top dollar. Try their kosher hot dog with fried baloney. Really the only place to buy chubbies; white fish and hand trimmed lox.
(4)Mike T.
There's nothing like a great kosher delicatessen. Go here for great corner beef, pastrami and knishes.
(5)Victoria D.
Hands down, best deli ever. The turkey knish is amazing and so is the chopped liver. If you are in the Baltimore area, dont miss out on this hole-in-the-wall GEM.
