Bottom Line: Friendly staff serving good barbecue in a casual atmosphere. I used to think Marylanders were particular about crab cakes but I think its possible they are even more picky about BBQ. After reading many Yelp reviews for many barbecue joints, I have learned that personal opinions run deep on what good "q" is and isn't, but that is ok with me. My father smokes brisket and has an award winning BBQ sauce named after my sister, so I too know what I like. As far as The BBQ Joint goes, I think they have some good stuff coming out of their smoker - not the best I've had but it will certainly satisfy my cravings for barbecue. The BBQ Joint is a nice casual eatery. You order at the counter and then they bring your food out to you. They have several beers on draft and in bottles or you can opt for a refreshing beverage from the Coca-Cola soda fountain. They also have tea, lemonade and Arnold Palmers. The menu options here are the classics - pulled pork, beef brisket, roasted chicken, etc. You can get an entree (mounds of meat) or a sandwich. Sandwiches are served on potato bread and come with homemade potato chips and coleslaw. You can upgrade to fries or onion rings as well. Speaking of fried goodness, the fried pickles here are yummo and come with a tasty white dipping sauce. In fact, that white sauce is good on french fries too. If you want something on the lighter side, you can get a salad with meat. Whether you go for a sandwich or an entree, I highly recommend getting it without sauce. The BBQ Joint has about six different sauces and its fun to try to the different flavors before baptizing your meat in the condiment of your choice. Overall, an "A-OK" experience.

I think this place is great! I stopped in for a Pork BBQ platter and I was impressed! They really get it with their Eastern NC barbecue sauce! It's a simple blend of vinegar and red peppers! No gooey ketchup base! YES!!!! It's what the epitome of Eastern NC BBQ, Parkers of Wilson, NC does!! How do I know the difference? I had real Tar Heel parents who stopped by Parkers every time we headed to beautiful White Lake in Bladen County! I was born in Richmond, Va. And they had the wonderful Bills Barbecue until The locals bought into the Big LIE about the unwholesomeness of Pork!! WHAT WEENIES! Bills was an institution that never should have died as a victim of the liberal intelligentsia that voted for OBama! Ok, back to the BBQ JOINT! Not anything like the great pretender, Mission BBQ of Columbia! Pretty close to KLOBY's Smokehouse in Laurel which I consider to be tops except for their STUBBORN insistance that NC BBQ sauce is ketchup based! NC actually has 3 distinct sauces: Eastern, vinegar & peppers Lexington, slightly ketchup based but not overpowering Charlotte, abomination of gooey ketchup!! YUCK! Folks please do not eat pork with ketchup! It's just NAAAASTY AND PERVERTED!! I expect the far Western area of NC to start gobbing mayonnaise on their BBQ!! It's as distasteful as putting milk in grits! GOD HELP US!! OK, a few suggestions for The BBQ JOINT: 1.) try putting a light sprinkling of celery seed in the pork! It enhances the flavor of pork! 2.) Dump the Mediocre MARTINS POTATO ROLLS! For gosh sakes! They are made in Yankee Pennsylvania!! Use plain Wonder Bread Hamburger Rolls, but STEAM THEM! Marvel at the difference! No overpowering of the Pork!! 3.) learn to make Brunswick Stew, Boiled BBQ potatoes and Hush Puppies!! Mmmmmm!! 4.) Andrew Evans, owner: make tracks to Wilson, NC and study PARKERS! Heck ill take you! Love to! 5.). Offer Banana Pudding for dessert!! 6.) study NC Cole Slaw! It has mustard in it and it's yellow! CUT back on the mayo! Just helpful criticism that could make you the best in MARYLAND! No such thing as MARYLAND pork BBQ, so imitate and prosper! Don't worry though, ill still be your regular customer! I love you! I really do!

Really disappointed, I hope Chef Andrew hasn't stooped to one of the oldest BBQ tricks in the books called "parBoilded" meats, normally done in large catering/hotel type kitchens, I have NEVER seen an award winner BBQ Outfit boil there meats then but then on a smoker and call it real smoked bbq!! Went there this past weekend for the first time, ordered $$$ worth of meats and sides A quick rundown from a very opinionated Chef Brisket: wondered why it was cut so thick, real smoked brisket is never cut thick, to much salt in the rub, the meat as well as the fat and the so called burnt ends all had the texture of meat being boiled!! Ribs: sweet rub was good, meat over cooked Chicken: nice rub on that, this was rather good, not boiled Pork: no flavor at all, boiled meat texture NC Sauce: way way to spicey Beans: nice flavor Potato salad: beats out KFC Mac/Cheese: beats out KFC Well overall a big failure for Chef Andrew if indeed there boiling there meats first to save time and over head! If your truly not, find a real smoker to use! Go back to the old days Chef, relive the dream and start putting A+ BBQ again!!

I was craving BBQ, did a search for places in the Glen Burnie/ Pasadena area and came across this place. I decided to pay them a visit, and I have to say I will def be going back. The food and, customer service were amazing . A+++. If you are in the area I urge you to pay them a visit.

"The bbq joint", more like I need a joint to eat there food. $11 for a sandwich and chips, really? Turkey was dry and they put shredded cheese on on my sandwich instead of a slice like normal restaurants. They don't have tomatoes an hour into opening. "You're down the street from giant and safeway, go get what you need to complete your orders." Do not waste your time with this place. Drive ten minutes more to the wonderful Mission bbq where you get superb service, quality food and your dollars worth. Do us a favor an shutdown bbq joint. We all know it's gonna happen.

Live in the Lake Shore area and thought I would give this place a shot instead of driving out to Mission BBQ in Glen Burnie. I really wish I didn't make that decision. Ordered the nachos, quesadilla, and chopped chicken sandwich with old bay fries. The only thing that was reasonably tasty was the BBQ chicken sandwich. The quesadilla was a joke(especially for the price), the nachos tasted like old fryer grease and had nacho cheese out of a machine on them. For the $38 price tag for the meal including 2 adult fountain drinks and one child's drink, I will drive to Mission BBQ and not spend as much, get exceptional service, and leave satisfied. Two thumbs down for this place.

This place is so good. Their meats are all high quality and free of growth hormones and antibiotics. All the sides are homemade and they also vary their homemade desserts too. The collard greens and Mac and Cheese will rock your world. I love both of their salads--BBQ Chicken and Beef and Blues. My husband gets a pork sandwich nearly every visit and won't stop talking about how good it tastes. They also run pint nights and invite local breweries to visit.

This place was absolutely fantastic. Went here on a Sunday afternoon, and it was fairly busy, but not overwhelmingly so. My father and I had the pulled pork sandwich which we both loved. He got coleslaw and baked beans with his, and I had the cornbread and Mac and cheese. The cornbread was to die for. It practically melted in my mouth, and was so delicious. My son loved the mac and cheese. My fiancé got the brisket sandwich with the baked beans and fries. His sandwich was devoured in moments, and he thought the beans were unique. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean and inviting. I'm excited that this place does not only dine-in, but also take-out and catering. I absolutely recommend this place to anyone who loves good BBQ. Reminds me of being back home in the south.

These are the best ribs I've ever had. Period. The first time I came here, I got the sampler platter, so was able to taste just about everything. I really liked the pulled pork and brisket, but the ribs were definitely the best thing on the plate.

Yummy and very friendly. The portions are good sized and the staff goes out of their way. Great hometown feeling.

On the menu for the evening for me was wet ribs and collard greens. The ribs were tasty and cooked well. I am not sure the portion warranted $14.99 and not offering a side. I had to pay $2.50 for a very small side of collard greens. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean. Overall, the food was good; however, I feel the prices are too high.

This was some good ass brisket. We got 7 pounds of brisket at the Pasadena location for a party and these guys were on it. Totally ready to go when we got there and greeted with very good, hospitable service. The sauces were amazing! Everyone raved about how good this was, don't pass it up!!!

Best BBQ in Maryland! I brought my family of 5 here and we ordered a couple of sampler platters so we could try it all. The ribs and brisket were our favorites. My husband is from Texas, so for him to really like the brisket says a lot. The staff was very friendly. We're now fans of the BBQ Joint!

Ok I look hard to find a good place for me and my son to have BBQ. This place should be called "The Sides Joint". The sides weren't great but compared to the BBQ, exquisite.

  • Pete J.

Got the small brisket sandwich with a side if potato salad and Texas baked beans. Wife got pulled pork with sides of cole slaw and macaroni and cheese. We both were impressed by the sides but the actual sandwiches tasted bland. There were a variety if sauces that can be added to the meat but the sandwiches still tasted bland. In going I have to give this place another try before I swear my allegiance to Mission barbecue.

Overpriced and over hyped. Terrible bang for buck and it's dead on a sat night... Makes me worry. See photo of my chicken sandwich for the soggy cold mess you get for 9 dollars. Awful.

Smoked turkey is amazing! Great collards and old bay fries. The people working there are very helpful and friendly. Great for families with food allergies. The chef was extremely careful and checked all ingredients in the foods my son ordered to ensure he was safe. Nice outdoor seating area. Great beers. Worth a detour!

We have tried this place twice. The first time was right after they opened. The service was ok but the food wasn't very good. The sweet potato mash had pineapple in it. Weird, right? The apple sauce was over the top with cinnamon (my daughter did not like it at all and even I couldn't eat much of it). The Mac and cheese was a huge disappointment (I love me some Mac and cheese). It was bland and greasy. The meat was ok but you get very little for your money. This is a counter service restaurant with prices that are higher than you'd expect from this kind of establishment. We tried this place again over six months later and nothing had changed since our first visit. We will not be going back here again when we can get delicious BBQ at reasonable prices elsewhere. Sorry BBQ Joint, you are so close to our house but so far off the mark.

Holy crap. For what you pay here, the BBQ sandwhich is terrible. No taste on the meat whatsoever.the mac and cheese tasted like a terrible version of kraft mac and cheese. There was no cheese at all. The potato a salad was super watery. The portions for a BBQ joint was embrassing. For $10 you can go to Mission BBQ and get decent BBQ and sides you will enjoy. Also it's Saturday at prime lunch time and it was dead. Waste of time and money

My review is not just for really good Q, but also for incredible customer service. After seeing the owner on the Bobby Flay show, I decided I wanted to try his meatloaf that just looked fabulous. I found out that the meatloaf is made Tuesday afternoons around 5:00. Since there is no way I can get up to Pasadena in the afternoons, I was ready to be very disappointed. Well, Ian, the manager, called me and told me they were going to make a batch first thing in the morning just for me...wow... And let me say that the meatloaf did not disappoint. And while I was there, I purchased a sampling of their other foods and everything was yummy. Give them a try--you will be glad you did. They are one of the few very good BBQ places around...

I've tried BBQ restaurants from Florida to Maryland and I would rate this is in my top tier of favorites. There's a lot of bad to mediocre BBQ out there, trust me. Their sauces taste like they're made from scratch and not cobbled together from other sauces like some places I've been. They don't add any Liquid Smoke to their sauces either, which is great because I HATE that! Their brisket and ribs are the stars of the menu for my taste buds, but the pork is also quite good. They have some fun salads as an alternative and I love, love, love the nachos. It's my go to comfort food. :) As for sides, they have the best baked beans I've ever had. They have onions, peppers and tomatoes in them and several varieties of beans. So many places serve beans that look like what you'd get at the grocery store, and they're usually disappointing or at best, uninteresting. Cole slaw is great too. Not overly sweet or overly dressed. If you have room, the desserts are worth the calories. I think the prices are quite reasonable for the quality of the food. I would rather pay for quality than save a few dollars eating mediocre food.

I got their brisket sandwich with 2 sides of collard greens and cornbread. Everything was AMAZING!! First time to try them out and they definitely left a good first impression. Wish I lived locally so I could go there more often. They should open one in Annapolis or edgewater area *hint hint* haha

At first, the moist "Sliced Brisket" didn't look much like slices at all. It was a pile of strips of fat/skin and meat. Came with a small dinner roll, hardly something you could use to make a sandwich with. I was anticipating a hefty moist sandwich of brisket. Disappointed to say the least. I expected more taste from this place seeing how hyped it was. Even the horseradish didn't have much taste to it. Not even slightly spicy. For a side, I have yet to try the beans or corn bread. The fries were actually decent, with which looked to be paired with sea salt. All in all, I'll give them one more shot and try their pulled pork. That seems to be their biggest hit. They do offer slushy ice from their self-serve fountain soda machine, if that's something you fancy.

Great "Q!" Had the beef brisket sandwich which was tender and moist... Then took home a qt. of the pulled pork for the kids, which they quickly devoured.... Cool atmosphere... Definitely a hit!!

After our first experience was not up to their standards, was encouraged to try them again by the manager. As I'm leaving town on business this week, had my wife stop by for take out. Sampler platter was much improved. Both the pulled pork and brisket were moist, even after the car ride home. The dry ribs were also imptoved. the perfect amount of heat in their rib rub. 'Burnt ends' are a tricky item at most bbq places, they need to be black with smoke, not carbon tasting, and the burnt ends were spot on. They look horrible, but taste great. Pulled pork was moist and didn't need any sauce. Brisket was also well cooked and moist, yet it was a 'point cut' and not 'lean' yet very tasty if you enjoy heavy marbling. Sides we tried were: collard greens- not over cooked or mushy like most plsces. Lacked spark, would not recommend yhem. The yams on the other hand were my wife's favorite. Prefect amount of sweetness, not overly sweet like most places. Cornbread muffins were very good and not dry. Also included a small potato roll that was fresh, and made a nice small pork sandwich. Sauce selection was nothing special, with the sweet sauce being the hands down favorite of th e four, yet still not really needed on the ribs or pork, as it doesn't add to them. All in all much better food quality and taste. Hope our next order tastes like this one. Consistency is key, so we're hoping they can repeat. Stick with the dry ribs and pulled pork, pass on the brisket unless you like 'moist' cut. Sides we recommend the yams and mac and cheese, pass on the fries.

A great addition to the Pasadena selections! We usually get the meat sampler with 3 sides for $18. My hub and I will share it with plenty to eat. The kids menu is a bit pricey. They hype their sauces, but they aren't too special. Tasty sauce selection, but not out of the ordinary. The coleslaw and Mac n cheese are great! The Redneck nachos are good too!

The BBQ Joint is the real deal, and serves up the best ribs I've found anywhere north of Rudy's in Texas. Most restaurants seem to have difficulty with ribs, but the BBQ Joint nails it. The cuts are solid, the meat is rubbed right, and the plated serving is consistently thick and moist. I've gotten the ribs three times -- just to make sure -- before I decided to give five stars. Regarding other items, the beef brisket was tender and juicy, and my wife enjoyed her chicken sandwich. The fries were favored by the kids, but the cornbread muffins were a bit small. The collard greens were fantastic. The yams were loaded with brown sugar, so if that's your thing, jump on in. Overall definitely a five-star BBQ experience for me, based on my preference for a solid rack of ribs. Suggestion for customers: the ribs are a bit pricey - so order the entire rack of ribs and save half for later. They even pass the leftover test with flying colors.

The wet ribs were good. The Texas BBQ beans tasted like they were from a can and did not have much BBQ flavor. The Cole slaw was dead average. The main thing that was the biggest disappointment was that their French fries are not fries, they are potato chips! I really wanted fries as the menu states. Do you not know the difference between French fries and chips? VERY misleading! Also the prices are a little outrageous. I'd rather spend that much money at a better BBQ place.

  • Jared B.

They do a really good barbecue here. I wish it was sweeter, but it tastes better than Mission. All the sides are super good too. There's nobody there because people around here would rather drink beer and eat ribs soaked in ketchup. I am really hoping some more people discover this place.

I went there this past Saturday night. I was there about 2.5 hours before closing. Thought I'd order the sampler platter. Well, turns out they had no pork! What? No pork? How can that be when you have a picture of a pig on your signage?! Well, I was informed it would be ready in 30 minutes then again was told it would be more like 1 hour. So, off to the Green Turtle to watch a band and drink overpriced beer. I returned about 20 minutes till closing (a little over 2 hours later) and was informed they still had no pork ready. Ugh, not happy but I ordered brisket and chicken with mac-n-cheese and cornbread. Well, the brisket was way too fatty but had a good taste. The chicken was ok. Cornbread was odd being served in cup cake papers. Nothing to write home about. I've had better Jiffy Mix cornbread. Mac-n-cheese was ok. A little better than the kraft stuff. I also got the spicy sauce. Jeez, it had way too much vinegar in it. That kinda killed any other kind of taste it may have had. Spicy is one thing and Vinegary is another. I will give it another go though. I want to try the pork and a different sauce. With good BBQ sauce isn't necessary. I just get it in case the BBQ needs help. Anyway, I hope I can give them a better review...

I appreciate the follow-up regarding my initial review. I'll give any place another change with staff that care. There were three of us that took food to go last weekend. I got the brisket with mac n' cheese and yams. The meat was okay, but a little dry. I thought they would give us a little more with the platter, but the 3 pieces were okay. I picked last in the sauce department, and used the sweet sauce. It was also just okay. As for the sides, I got two and they were small. The yams were buttery goodness that hit the spot. The mac n' cheese? Let me preface this by saying I've only seen a few places pull off mac n' cheese when it isn't a major focus. This mac was edible. I actually took it and put it under the broiler for a few minutes. This gave me some crispies and made the sauce less congealed and more creamy. The GFer could have any meat except the brisket, and he got the pulled pork and beans. Both he said were good and medium sauce was also good. Our other companion got the platter which has a boatload of food going on. They concurred that the meat was just okay. It's not the best I've had, but it is better than I expected in this area.

Nice place for BBQ, a little pricey, charge extra for small things that could be built into menu prices. Food was good, will try again to see if there's something that really wows... didn't find it on first visit. Nice to have a place like this in the area though. Would like to give 3 1/2 stars but score only allows whole stars.

I'm crazy about BBQ. I just wasn't crazy about this BBQ. This is a casual, order at the counter, get your own drinks, and grab a table kind of place. The prices indicate something much more. We grabbed some random menus lying around and placed our orders at the register in the back. They do not have a kids menu but said they can do kid size portions. We just opted to get ours two small sides. Mac n cheese and apple sauce. Neither was very good. The Mac was bland and a little gritty. The apple sauce had tons of cinnamon. The corn muffins were a hit. The dinner rolls average. I had the chicken salad. It was huge and tasty. I used BBQ sauce as dressing. Good, but not great. My husband ordered the lean brisket platter with beans. The brisket was okay. The beans were not good. These were more of a greasy chili than baked beans. My Father ordered the steak with blue cheese salad and nacho's. Both were very good. The servers do bring your food out to you and refill your drink, if you catch one. Ee had to get our own and there was no water at the soda machine. That meant waiting in line at the register again. Not cool. The open kitchen is fun. My 2 year old was entertained while we waited for our food. The cooks were very nice to talk to him and be friendly while they worked. Everything was clean and new. I don't see us coming back here too often. It's just not great food for higher than average prices.

My husband and 2 little boys decided to go there tonight just to try it out.... It's a great place!!! It was a Tuesday night so it was empty. The place is nice and clean and the staff was friendly. The menu is a little confusing because it's not in a list form- it did take me a while to figure it out. Once I did though I ordered the BBQ ribs....THEY WERE AWESOME!!!! These ribs fell right off the bone! The sauce was perfect and had a little kick to it. I also had the yams (seasoned really well just a little chunky for my taste) and 2 cornbread muffins (they make mini cornbread muffins which is the perfect size for my 2 yr old's hands). They don't have a kids menu but whatever you order for them they just make it a smaller portions. I would definitely be coming to this place again.

I have not been to the Easton location, in fact until recently I didn't even know it existed. I have, on the other hand, had BBQ of all types in many different hubs of smoked goodness all over the country. I myself am a devotee of the Lexington, North Carolina method of BBQ production. This is NOT that, but you know what they don't pretend to be and for that they have my gratitude and admiration. As a matter of full disclosure I desperately wanted to give this place 5 stars from the first moment I saw it, and truthfully 4 stars may even be a bit generous, but I am basing my star rating off of the fact that as an industry veteran I know what this place WILL be soon. Walking in to the BBQ Joint leaves you feeling underwhelmed quite frankly. The lay out of the dining room is a tad awkward and there is no real clear direction to indicate what you are supposed to do or where you are supposed to go. Polished concrete floors and practically no decorations on the wall suggest a minimalist approach to restaurant design, which means that I expect that much more of the food. There are no overhead menu boards and that sucks to be frank, instead you have to blindly stumble around until you come across one of the stacks of folded xeroxed paper menus scattered about. The layout of the menu is far from organized or logical, and the fact that a wall of delicious aromas from the smoke and meat drippings smacks you in the face when you walk in makes it that much harder to focus on the printed words. My first instinct was to hand the cashier my credit card and simply say, "Yes please". Fortunately my wife was there to make me come to my senses as well as the remaining 9 guests I had invited to join me on this expedition. With such a large party I was afforded the opportunity to sample most of the menu all in one visit so let's get to the food shall we? Appetizers, a rather awkward collection of items that seem better suited to a TGI_McFunster's rather than a casual quick serve concept such as this, but nothing sounded fright fully out of place. I passed on the smoked wings as personally I like my wings crispy and that didn't seem to be an option. Likewise the cheese fries and chili cheese fries certainly didn't inspire me. Fried onion rings were offered, but I am not sure why, especially since in my mind those are a side dish not an appetizer. The obligatory bowl of Chili is offered as well as a house salad, and I was thinking to my self yeah, well so what? Then I saw them, the Red Neck Nachos. For only $8.95 I was treated to a heaping mound of crispy thin tortillia chips lovingly drizzled with just enough nacho cheese and chipotle cream before being topped by FRESH thin sliced jalapenos and a generous 1/4 pound of their beautifully smoked pork. This is an "Appetizer" that is easily a meal, at least for a lunch. It is worth every ooey gooey calorie it takes to taste so good. No Full Disclosure, a casual quick serve, that is a restaurant where you order and pay at the counter then either wait for your food or in this case it is delivered to your table, should not offer "appetizers" because in the case of my party the nachos came out with the rest of the food and that is awkward. Now on to the main course, you have sandwiches and platters, as well as salads to choose from but seriously, if you want a salad get the hell out of the BBQ restaurant, LOL. I was on a mission to

I was surprised by the negative reviews. Take my advice as a BBQ obsessed diner -- ignore the negative reviews and try The BBQ Joint for yourself. We first tried Chef Andrew Evans cooking at the Inn at Easton. It was our "go to" restaurant for special occasions and date night nights. We miss the Inn terribly. Based on this experience, we tried The BBQ Joint in Easton, MD. My family and I are big fans of Chef Evans BBQ. When we heard there was one in Pasadena, closer to our home, we couldn't wait to try it. The great news: the new, Pasadena location, is a great as the original! The one bonus is it is bigger place. We opted for take-out and had the pulled pork, pulled chicken and brisket (sliced) -- all were excellent. We also give high marks to their BBQ sauce and liked mixing the mild and sweet. Additionally, we tried potato salad, coleslaw and onion rings. All were tasty and in true Andrew Evans fashion, had a "little something extra." The staff could not have been friendlier. You can order BBQ by the pound or 1/2 pound which allows you to sample all they have to offer. The next time we will eat-in so we can try those items which may not travel well, specifically, the killer cheese fries we saw! The one mistake we made, and it will haunt me till next my next visit, was not ordering dessert -- their desserts look spectacular and all are made in-house. Mr. Evans and Team BBQ Joint, keep up the great work!

My family and myself just went there today for the first time. I saw it off of rt.100 on weds. And I had to find it.well I did. BBQ bliss, I had the sampler,my wife had pulled pork sandwich,my daughter the chicken sandwich and step son had had the large pulled pork sandwich.i must say MAGNIFICENT on all counts. The food was tender and moist and sides to die for.will definitely frequent this establishment.thank you such a great dining experience

I really enjoyed the BBQ at this place. Their ribs and brisket were tender, sauces were pretty good and corn muffins are especially yummy! The only thing I didn't like was the saw dust on the floor, very tacky, but apparently they have since removed that. Last negative is the price, it's definitely over board.

Update: they serve beer now!!! Looking forward to the "patio parties!" Love this place. Have eaten inside a bunch and gotten carry out a handful of times. I love the brisket and my fiancé loves the pulled pork. Got fried Mac and cheese once and that was amazing. The manager was very friendly and offered some assistance on catering options. Hope to use them for a future party. Very happy they came to Pasadena!

This is the place for the best BBQ ever! I've visited their restaurant in Easton numerous times, I'm so happy that they've made the move to the Western shore. Their pork ribs and brisket are the best! The line was long when I was there but well worth the wait, and the prices are reasonable too.

Was there today to get a meal to split with my six year old daughter..She loves BBQ..Ordered a full rack wet for carry out..I didnt specify how I wanted my ribs and just assumed it came with the house sauce on it.. The ribs looked great in the box and they were perfectly cut, not messy with the right amount of sauce. However were way too spicy for my daughter to eat and tasted overly spicy to me as well. They were somewhat fatty and yet could have been more moist. I love hot wings but not hot spicy ribs. The fries although hot and crisp were bland frozen fries ( diner style).I Was hoping for fresh cut fries Meal was $29 with tax not including a drink or any extras just fries and yam mash. The sweet yam mash was very good. So not very impressed but willing to give it another go. The manager was friendly enough and said they are getting a liquor license to make a sports bar atmosphere..They better step up their game with amazing food to compete with 2 Rivers and Green Turtle..Although Green Turtle does a great bar the food is nothing special lol. So hope they last because Pasdena doesnt really have a good BBQ place..Wings and Things or whatever its called now is a zero and Beefalo Bobs is decent but too far out of the way for a carryout from this end..Good luck to you:) Deborah

I definitely think this is the best BBQ! I have been to the Pasadena site 3 times already and will be there again on Saturday. The moist brisket could not have been any better. It was so tender and moist you could cut it with a fork. The flavor was so delicious you did not need sauce and would only add as a enhancer. Loved the pulled pork as well. Having the option to add your sauce is a BIG plus. Not everyone likes the same. Of course I enjoyed them all and combined flavors. I have also eaten in Easton and was so happy and excited when they chose Pasadena to expand!

Great local bbq in Pasadena. The dry rub adds great flavor and kick to the chicken and the St. louis style ribs are the best my family has ever had. Adds much needed variety to Pasadena.

We have been to The BBQ Joint a few times now since they opened. Everything we've had has been delicious. I think it's one of the better BBQ places in the area. I do agree with what others have also said about the prices. I think they need to rethink the prices they are charging for the area. Although it is very good, people seem to have gone there and tried it and not going back. I don't see very many people in there when I have gone. But I haven't had anything yet I didn't like. The pulled chicken sandwich is my favorite. Brisket was also delicious. If they can lower the prices, I think they will do well in the Dena.

The staff is friendly and goes out of there way to make you feel at home. They made me feel like I was one of their best friends and were really easy to talk to. They were very appreciative of the fact that I am former Navy and thanked me for my service. The Brisket is delicious and melts in your mouth. They provide a good portion of food with the sandwich. I have been to other BBQ places which charge about the same and provide less portions for the price. They have a small selection of craft beer on tap, which I wasn't expecting. Was even told that they are trying to have a craft beer night on the last Thursday of every month. $5 for a pint and get to keep the glass. For anyone into craft beer that is not a bad deal. The place is very clean and friendly atmosphere. I would definitely go back.

This place has one of the best, if not the best, pulled pork sandwiches that I have ever had. It is on the level of Andy Nelson's in terms of tastiness. Pair it with their medium sauce. It is to die for. Sides are hit or miss. The corn bread is mighty tasty, as are their fries. I find their Texas baked beans a bit nontraditional for me, but if a plethora of different beans is your thing then it may be for you. Their applesauce has cinnamon in it, and I found the cinnamon overpowering. I always get their lemonade to drink. It is tasty, rather tart but also quite sweet. Service is great. Although you order at a register, your food is served to you. If you want you can sit at the high tables adjacent to the cooking area and watch them make your food. The pitmaster might even talk to you. He is a nice guy, and always thanks me for my service when I leave. Simply put, this is a nice place.

Very good stuff. Better than Mission BBQ, IMHO. The chicken is tender and the sauces are pretty good. I did not try the brisket, but a co-worker had it and said it was very good also. The group of us all agreed that the food is less salty across the board. Parking is very easy.

I ordered the small Barbeque Sampler-mixed reviews. Ribs and chicken were yummy! Sweet barbeque sauce was just right and not cloying. Pork was nicely pulled and tender , however it lacked seasoning. Brisket had nice flavor but did not taste smoked. What was most shocking is that the beef was chopped up, almost minced. Baked beans were delicious, potato salad needed seasoning, and the yams were inedible-almost brown in color and beyond too sweet. Would I return? Not sure at this point. Perhaps I'm spoiled by the juicy, smoky slices of brisket from Fat Daddy's in Bridgeville, DE.

My parents live in Pasadena and I always found it irritating how limited the selection of restaurants were in Pasadena but this place is definitely a keeper. I ordered the beef brisket sandwich and some cornbread muffins and I was really impressed. The sandwich was moist and flavorful and the cornbread muffins were pretty tasty as well. My fiance ordered the chopped chicken sandwich and macaroni and cheese, I didn't try his sandwich but I sampled the macaroni and cheese which I thought was really yummy. I'm so glad I finally have a place in Pasadena to get food from when I visit.

The food is delicious and the sample platters are Awesome! !!! The brisket salad and nachos are delicious as well. It is a little pricey but, it's a good choice when you have a couple extra $ for a treat.
