Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

In a word? Horrible. We stopped in here for lunch after reading the great reviews on yelp, and I have to say this is the first time other reviewers have let me down. When you walk in the door at Lucky Inn the first thing you see is a fish tank so full of huge fish you cannot understand how they could possibly be alive. I'm not an 'animal rights' advocate by any stretch of the imagination, but this had me wanting to call PETA. We ordered one of the lunch combinations that had teriyaki chicken, green salad, miso soup, pork fried rice and a California roll. The miso soup came first and the seaweed in it was so chewy and fishy tasting that I couldn't even eat the soup. After getting the rest of the food, turns out the miso soup was one of the high points. The teriyaki chicken was inedible. It consisted of a boneless, skinless chicken breast that had been boiled with no seasonings, and then covered in canned, bland teriyaki sauce. It was the closest thing to actual 'rubber chicken' I've ever encountered. Instead of pork fried rice we got plain white rice. Also, the green salad had zero dressing on it. It took 10 minutes to get a server to come over to us so we could ask about the rice and the salad. They did apologize and brought us the rice and the dressing. The California roll was okay...better than what you would get in a grocery store, but that is about it. Will def NOT be going back here... ever.

One of my favorite places to get chinese! The food is great quality and its very relaxing as a dine in restuarant. Love it! They recently added a sushi bar, I didnt eat sushi before but once I had the Baltimore roll I am hooked!

Things have changed recently. Lucky Inn used to be pretty good. I have eaten in, carried out and had delivery a lot. In the last two months, the menu has been revised. And the recipes seem changed as well. The shrimp egg foo young has turned bland. The gravy had been a darker brown, but now is the floury lighter brown. The pepper steak is still OK, but blander. The Orange Chicken remains very good. The vegetable spring rolls have totally changed for the worse. The outer wrap is more like frozen egg rolls and they have cabbage only inside. The vegetable fried rice was quite good. More than likely, you can still get a satisfactory lunch combo with a decent price. I would carry out and not do delivery, if possible. One note: I stopped ordering Lucky Inn delivery about six months ago when they brought a shrimp dish with no shrimp in it and then redelivered and took the dish back after it had been at my house for a half-hour. I question whether they used it again. The take-back is a very bad practice. They need to bear the cost of their mistakes. If only for sanitary/quality control reasons.

This place used to be really great, and then they changed owners a few years back. It's not as good as it used to be, but it's still really good. Lunch specials are an amazing deal: a box full of food, an egg roll or soda... All for 5.25! (A few cost more, but almost everything is 5.25!) I've always loved the orange chicken here - giant chunks of chicken breast with a super crispy fried breading tosses in a delicious sauce... And while the sauce isn't quite the same as under the old ownership, it's still really good.

sadly the food and service have become quite bad. the previous ownership had it perfect. the new owners have made everything so cheap and poorly prepared I will never return. I ordered fried wontons, I got a horribly greasy pile of broken inedible wontons from their soup! it was pretty gross! the rude server got nicer when we said they were awful and we knew they were from old soup. overall low quality and smaller portions. I have eaten here since I was a kid, since the new owners took over they have gotten so bad its not worth even going anymore. If you liked the old Lucky Inn go to China Taste in Perry Hall! you'll see the old servers from lucky and their chef is TOPS! awesome high quality food! Avoid Lucky Inn, you've been warned!

Have been here many times a couple of years ago. Then one night the food was terrible. Decided to give it a try today after a long absence. Wonton soup came out with ice cold wontons which were horrible Next was the luke warm vegetable spring rolls which only had cabbage. Lastly was shrimp in lobster sauce. Not only terrible but again luke warm. Ambience doesn't exist unless your a corpse. Won't be back again.

Sushi is great they usually have buy 1 roll get one half off which is always good. Take out service is pretty quick and everything is fresh. Definitely try the Ford roll and the Mazada roll!!

Smh serously i'm a real person not being biased ok let me start of to say that I at here once had the shrimp fried rice and it was on point I had that for lunch since I work in the area went there a second time and orderd the same thing still was good went there a third time on my break and thought to order something different I orderd the 4 seasons smh bad Idea I went back to work and my stomach felt all weird I went home and had food poisoning the next day which lasted for 3 days smh I recently talked to a couple of my friends that don't know each other about the incident and they two have had food poisoning and one of them twice.... tell you the truth after reading reviews on here about them serving old food I think that's what probably had happened

The best crabmeat wontons I have ever head. Ive ordered them at 10 plus Chinese places and they can't even come close to the Lucky Inn. Perfect. California roll was great. Veggie Lo mein was even better. Best Chinese around. My boyfriend loved the chicken and broccoli as well. Think gravy and good smokey taste to the chicken! It is a little expensive. $35 for 2 adults.

This place used to be my mom and I's go to place for having a nice sit-down Chinese food meal. However, I haven't been impressed the last few times I've been here. During lunch, there are a minimal amount of customers with one or two servers. Despite the low server:customer ratio, service is very slow. Additionally, the lunch specials are limited compared to other Chinese places in the area. The food is good but nothing spectacular. The sushi is also good but there is a serious lack of specialty rolls. Overall, I'd recommend it for a quick and cheap bite to eat but with the number of Chinese places in the area, I would not recommend that someone go out of their way to come here.

OK, I've been meaning to write this review for some time now. I'm a super picky Chinese food eater and I really like Lucky Inn. Since moving to Baltimore, I'd given up Chinese food for a few years save for when I returned home or visited friends (NY/NJ). Most area restaurants are Americanized to the point of disgusting with heavy sweet sauces or are weird concoctions of something that appears to be sort of Asian (i.e. PF Chang's). I don't find that to be the case at all at Lucky Inn. I find myself at this strip mall a lot running errands and always stop by to grab lunch or dinner. The eggrolls are huge and reminiscent of the ones I grew up on and the egg drop soup has excellent consistency and flavor. The sauces are never heavy and your entrees are never left swimming in an ocean of sweet sticky crap. They use just enough sauce on most dishes to give them great flavor and dishes that are supposed to be crispy always are. I was really surprised by some of the (few) negative comments on this site and others but then less so after I read most of them........miso soup? sushi? chicken teriyaki? Hmmmm, maybe you should head over to a good Japanese restaurant if that's what you're looking for. Ever hear of the expression "just because it fits doesn't mean you should wear it"? In this case, just because it's on the menu doesn't mean you should order it. You wouldn't order German food at an Italian restaurant would you? The only time I was disappointed with Lucky Inn was when I ordered pad thai and a spicy tuna roll because I had a hankering. My bad, not theirs because I'm usually a bit of a purist!! Stick with Chinese food at a Chinese restaurant and you really can't go wrong at Lucky Inn!

Had their teriyaki chicken which was dinner sized, came with rice, some veggies and miso soup (lots of seaweed n tofu yum!). Two orders hit almost $30 when we had come in for lunch to go so a lil pricier than preferred. Other than price it was still very edible. Ordered sushi rolls to go, Rainbow roll is VERY big, the fish on top I'd give a 7 out of 10 on sushi grade quality, but good flavor, since I dislike paying for a fancy roll and dipping it all in wasabi n soy sauce. Blasphemy. The other roll was the House Roll, didn't say it was warm so a lil disappointed but flavor wasn't awful. 6.5-7 out of 10. Sunday is buy one get one 50% off so $17 for both. Overall, I'll come back, partially due to it being 5 mins away.

Ok. I have eaten here a few times and the times before were good. Stopped in last night (11/21/21014). Ordered pearl river roll, Maryland Sea King Roll, and Shrimp Ebi sushi. The pearl river roll was ok. The Maryland Sea King Roll....the crabmeat(?) that was on top was foul! I mean you could smell how bad it was. The Shrimp Ebi....was four shrimp on a skewer in a plate of vegetables in a broth. When I told waitress about crabmeat that it was "bad", she smiled and like that was a compliment. NO!, I'm not saying bad=good like I was on the streets. This will make you sick kind of bad. She took it away and they still had the nerve to try to make me pay for it. NOT ON YOUR LIFE!!! I argued and they argued back. I refused to pay for it and walked out. I WILL NEVER BE RETURNING TO LUCKY INN! Go to Chopstix in Honeygo Center in Perry Hall. Better food, better sushi, better service.

New to this place for Asian food. So far I like it. Had the won ton soup, very good. Broth was tasty. The pork lo mein is excellent. Egg rolls, prior review said they were hand rolled on location. I don't find that to be. They are the same processed cabbage rolls most places serve. The sushi is excellent. Fresh and large rolls. Buy one roll , get second half price.

My one complaint about living in the Parkville area, is the lack of a really good family owned Chinese restaurant. Lucky Inn is ok and will do until I can find better. My go to place used to be Szechuan Taste over on Belair road, but after it exchanged hands ownership wise, the new owners dropped the quality drastically and quickly. PF Changs is (unfortunately, because it's a chain) the best the area has to offer. I used to eat Chinese a lot when I lived in Fells Point. (Ding How). But have never been able to find a place in Parkville that can match it for me. Lucky Inn is everything you should expect from a family owned Chinese restaurant. Quick, good tea, good appetizers, inexpensive, and a slight bit above average. On the plus side, (and this is picky I know) they play Chinese music on their music system. It never seems to be to crowded. And one more thing they do do things a little different, they put mushrooms in their Kung-Pow-Chicken. If you dislike shrooms make sure you ask before you order.

This place clearly hasn't been decorated in several years. I think Sugarbaker and Associates must have been the original design team, but I digress... For a small, windowless Chinese restaurant in a strip shopping center, the food is exceptional. Actually, it's pretty good even for a nicer place. My grandmother and I came here for dinner based on her recommendation. Apparently when you get old you rate restaurants solely on the amount of food they give you. According to her "they give you so much you have to take it with you... I end up eating it for the next two days." Using her ratings system, this much food would obviously make the top. In addition to the large portions, the food is fantastic. The egg drop soup was the perfect consistency and just enough salt to make it work. The egg rolls are huge, seem like they were rolled by hand, and stuffed with prawn and shrimp. Grandma got the shrimp chow mien and I got the pork lo mien. I made an attempt to make a dent in my plate, but I failed. Fortunately, my grandmother likes bringing food home, so this worked out perfectly. The servers are great and time their food delivery to the table better than most. It's nice when you get served 4 courses. It makes me feel fancy. :)

Recent renovation is long overdue and gives this great local take out spot the face lift it needed. Food is always good, new sushi bar is well done, smoothies are a nice add and its now lovely to sit and eat in. I would love to see them add bubble tea to the smoothie menu!

the Chinese restaurant that time forgot. *Comfy booths *Good egg rolls *Big pots of tea *Entrees come in those wonderful old metal pedestal dishes with lids

Absolutely terrible. Ordered a Dragon and Phoenix, and what I got was a soupy, disgusting mess. Canned sauce, soggy onions, dry chicken. If you eat here after reading this- at least you were warned.

This is my husband and I's go-to place for a quick, cheap, good, and filling meal. The lunch specials and dinner specials are a steal and they certainly give you enough food to take home. My husband and I can usually get 2 full meals out of any special we order. I haven't yet had a dish I didn't like at Lucky Inn. I usually get a special that includes lo-mein, fried rice, soup and an egg roll, but I've ventured out to try some other specials that were also delicious. The past few times we've gone, we've been given free mango or pineapple slushies. Bottom line: generous portion sizes, fantastic prices, good food.

Horrible service and food. Ordered the chicken teriyaki lunch special. Salad had no dressing when I asked for dressing the waitress said there was none....uh what? The chicken had zero flavor and was doused in a thick cold fresh out of the bottle low quality teriyaki sauce. The California roll was ok, nothing to rave about but much better than anything else that was served.

I LOVE this place! The friendly staff knows me by name since I go here several times per week. Very good sushi and Chinese food, generous portions, and you can't beat their prices (especially for sushi and lunch specials)! Lunch specials come with soup or soda. Sushi rolls are BOGO 50% off. My boyfriend and I love their slushies and sushi after a long work out at the YMCA next door. My recommendations: Chicken and broccoli with white sauce egg rolls egg drop soup slushie japanese green salad California rolls any of their many special rolls. I have to admit the salmon rolls and miso soup are a little sub par, and the chicken and broccoli's flavor varies, but everything else is wonderful!

I was out last week picking some things up and was hungry for lunch and they had a sign outside advertising lunch specials at $4.50 so I thought I would give it a try. There are 30 lunch specials listed at this price. The offer is good Mon-Sat from 11 am - 3 pm. All of the meals are served with pork fried rice and a fortune cookie. I tried my staple favorite of General Tso's Chicken. I got 5 large pieces of perfectly cooked chicken. The coating was still crispy with the sauce on it. The rice was perfectly seasoned- so many times I get fried rice and all I taste is oil and nothing else. The broccoli was also perfectly cooked and not to hard or over cooked. The sauce had a kick and wasn't weak or to much heat. It was a perfect portion for lunch and some of the better General Tso's I have had. This is a great lunch special and the food was ready in less than 10 minutes. The price is perfect for lunch and you get a good amount of food for the price. I can't wait to try it for dinner.
