The meal started off great with warm hush puppies as we sat down...but then quickly went down hill. AYCE blue crabs were advertised for $25, but good thing I only ordered 3 of them. Returned the first batch cause the meat was dried out, grey and brown. 2nd "fresh" batch was the exact same...just warmer. I realize it's the off-season, but these were just plain BAD. Plus the $3.50 for pop didn't help either.

Crabs, crabs, crabs! Some good, some bad. Ok, the fries and chicken are OK. The crabs are about the same. They were not large or extremely meaty, but for the price, i think they were spot on. Some where mushy, but the majority of the crabs were good. The spice was PERFECT. Service was excellent and efficient. Would i go back? Sure.

Food was good, I had all you can eat crabs, great price. The waitress Jenni was excellent I had to tell her no more crabs. My husband couldn't h ave crabs so he had the rock fish which was a great choice . I will go back my next visit.

My husband and I went to dinner there last night. Not too impressed. The hush puppies were not hot and tasted like they had been sitting out for a while. Very chewy and rubbery. We both got the soft shell crab sandwich..which I've never had one before. For my first one, not that great. It was served on white breads and cut in half. Guess it's supposed to be served on a roll and served whole. The French fries were the same as the hush puppies...not warm and tasted like they been sitting out for a while. Would not go back.

This is not my FAV restaurant. But, I felt it unfair to give it less than 3 stars when neither my husband nor I ordered crabs or one of the "all you can eat" dishes. We are not crab connoisseurs. Today is still not 'in season at the beach.' But, it was fairly crowded with groups eating their crabs and all you can eat specials. The NE Clam Chowder was watery and tasteless, the She Crab Soup better but nor the best. Neither Salad (wedged or toss) wasn't more than bare bones (iceberg lettuce). The Broiled Stuffed Shrimp and the Scallops nothing to brag about. Not ordering their "Speciality Items", we probably won't return but if you want Crabs, are in a group wanting "All You Can Eat" crabs, ribs, shrimp, corn, plus sides, I'd give it a true. Will say, the Hush Puppies are to die for! It isn't a cheap place but maybe with a crowd, things are different.

This is a decent no-frills traditional Chesapeake-style crab house. I ate there over the 4th of July weekend for their all-you-can-eat crab feast. I like the fact that they have several all-you-can-eat combos available (i.e. steamed crabs with snow crab legs, etc.) Some of the crabs in our crab feast were really small but it was all you can eat so not really a big deal. Our server Schuyler was awesome. Very friendly and attentive.

We got carry out crabs and all the extras (corn, fries, steamed shrimp) last night and were highly disappointed. We ordered super jumbos (which would qualify as larges in baltimore in our opinion). Crabs were hit or miss (some were good, others inedible). Shrimp were overcooked and salty. The corn was the worst. Overcooked, bland, and half of the dozen were brown. All this at premium price taboot. Needless to say, we will not be back.

Went there last night at 8pm What a mistake Worst crabs ever All reheats and tiny Even the big ones crumbled in your hand They were that bad Never again

This place was well below expectations. Our party of 6 was seated quickly, but we were seated next to what I believe was an air conditioning unit. This A/C unit was filthy, and really helped to set the expectation that poor quality and lack of attention to detail were the norm here. Starting with my order, I had the Steak and Crab Cakes. The crab cakes were very good, but the steak was ordered medium and came out very well done. I am not real picky about steak, so I just ate it, but keep an eye out if you want it done a specific way. My wife and dad ordered 2lbs of snow crab legs each. They were not very tasty and were over cooked. They would have ordered all you can eat crab legs, but Higgins has a ridiculous policy of charging $4.50 every time you order another plate of crab legs. I have ate at dozens of AYCE crab legs places, and this is the first time I have ever seen such a policy. My mom and aunt ordered AYCE steam crabs. Both thought that the crabs were of poor quality. When we told the waitress that the crabs were not very good, she stated that the crab catch from Maryland this year has been poor. That is surprising considering that the crabs that we ate from Hoopers the night before were much better. Overall, if you are visiting Ocean City, I would highly recommend that you look somewhere else. EDIT/PS: If anyone at Higgins is reading this, get rid of the plastic crab crackers. They are worthless.

AYCE crabs!!! That's all I can say! Higgins is very reasonably priced. They have numerous AYCE combos for everyone in your party. The fried chicken and the corn (still in the husk) are tasty. Higgins puts powdered sugar on their hushpuppies, which is delicious. The only complaint I have are the steamed shrimp. You should be able to easily peel the shell off and pop that sucker in your mouth. The shrimp at Higgins were not cooked properly. Peeling them was a nightmare and more often than not, I just gave up and tried with another shrimp. Service is friendly and efficient.

The ambience was PERFECT for REAL crab eaters!!!! We took my mom here for Mother's day and we all enjoyed! We are virgin to the All You Can Eat crabs set up, so when we saw the corn, chicken, cole slaw, and fries...we dove in! Although, we did come up for air for the crabs. The crabs are HOT!

The service here was great. We were seated as soon as we walked in, and our waitress was prompt and attentive to us. as soon as we sat down the waitress brought us complimentary hush puppies. The hush puppies had the potential to be great; however, they taste like they were made early in the morning and left under the warmer all day. When we asked for some fresh hush puppies, the waitress brought out some more less than 30 seconds later that were equally as bad. We ordered the all you can eat crabs. The best thing about these crabs were the size. The waitress told us they were small, but they were rather large when they came out. The crabs were not that great they taste like they were boiled instead of steamed; the meat was really mushy.

7 of us went during a Bachelorette weekend. 4 of us ordered the AYCE crabs & corn. The crabs were on the small side, but very flavorful. Our first bunch were drowned in Old Bay but the wait staff was more than willing to adjust the level of seasoning. Surprisingly the corn was also very good, and that's saying a lot since I grew up on NJ sweet corn (best in the world). Hush puppies were passable. Fries were good. Our waitress was friendly and responsive whenever we needed anything. I would definitely go back and I think all my friends felt the same way. Overall, it was a really enjoyable prelude to a memorable night! If I do go back, I would probably spring for the more expensive AYCE crab options. Hey, you only live once.

I had their all you can eat crabs for $28 for dinner. The crabs were good and fully cooked; however our first few batches had way too much old bay on them, like someone else said. The waitress suggested getting old bay on the side, which is what we did. The dinner included french fries, fried chicken, corn, and coleslaw. I think this is a good idea because it gets tiring cracking all those crabs. You need something else to fill your belly and change the monotony. The fried chicken and the corn are tasty, and they put powdered sugar on their hush puppies, which was strange but delicious. Service was accommodating and quick. The drinks weren't that great. The restaurant does have that dirty-shore feel, but to me that's part of the enjoyment. I'd rather not sit outside unless it's a cool day. Higgins is very reasonably priced and has numerous all you can eat combos to fit the wants and needs for everyone in your party.

Way overpriced and food was below average. Salads came out with wilted, brown lettuce and fish was overcooked. Not impressed.

  • Theresa V.

They had a special for all you can eat crabs for $25 during their lunch and it was $28 for dinner which included fries, fried chicken, corn, and coleslaw. I could of cared less for the sides, they didn't really have any flavor to them. Our server was very friendly and pretty quick. The crabs were good, most of them very cooked well. Our first few batches had way too much old bay on them, but our waitress was happy to bring out batches with old bay on the side. The drinks are ok, they tasted very diluted to me. Our waitress even told us that the bar isn't that great. Inside the restaurant feels kind of dirty, I definitely liked sitting outside better. It would be nice to have more outdoor seating since you are next to the beach. This restaurant does well with groups they bring the food out pretty quick. Overall I like this restaurant and would definitely go back.

Went in on a Saturday evening for the AYCE crabs bc PGN our first stop was stopping its AYCE @9 :( .. We lucked out! We might have missed out on some great crabs and fantastic service! The server was quick and had hot crabs ready to go before we even asked for more! I've never had that happen at an all you can eat crab spot! On top of that there was a special for AYCE for $24 but when the check came it was discounted down to $21!! All males and heavy!

Let's start with the food. We eat crabs often so we know what good crabs and seasoning are... The seasoning is just way too salty and in about every dozen of crabs we ordered, we had one bad one (rotten). The hush puppies were subpar and the blooming onion had an over flow of pepper. The shrimp was just alright. Now the service. We sat in the back so whoever served in the back on a Wednesday night was absolutely horrible. When we ordered our second round of crabs about 15 mins ahead of time, a few minutes passed and then she told us the jumbo crabs we ordered would be out in about 7-8 mins. So we waited about 7 more minutes, and then she said she was sorry that they were out of jumbo. What?!? Are you serious?!? Then she ordered us 2 dozen extra large instead and we had to wait another ten minutes for those crabs to come out. Of those two dozen, two crabs were rotten, which doesn't include the one rotten one in the previous dozen. I would NOT recommend this place for crabs. We're definitely going somewhere else next time.

I dined here in September and made a reservation via OpenTable, but realized I didn't need it. There are no crazy crowds near the end of the season. In general the all you can eat deals are terrible. Those crabs are tiny and you will be spending a lot of time and effort for little reward. Our server was knowledgeable and helpful. Service was good. However our sides were awful. Hush puppies and corn were sad excuses for food. Overall a good restaurant; if you want the best crabs in Ocean City, you should come here. Although you pay a premium for the larger sizes, they do not disappoint in size and taste. I wish I could say the same thing about the sides. IFHTP 1

All-you-can-eat crabs!!! I know places like this are dime a dozen in OC and granted I didn't get a chance to try other places but these guys are fairly priced and the wait staff is great. I was slow to eat the first tray of crabs and didn't want my wife waiting around for another 2 hours so I was about ready to leave. The waiter asked twice if I was sure I didn't want anymore to which, of course, I couldn't reject. I only asked for one more crab since I knew I wasn't about to go through another tray with my already pruned fingers. What came out was a surprise. The waiter went through the pile of crabs and found me the biggest one; I think the body shell was at least 6 inches! He wanted to find me a nice one since i didn't get to eat much. Now that's what I call service!

If you're looking for seafood in OC, this is the place to be. I had Cajun Catfish platter...there were two large filets! Our group had various all you can eat meals, only one person asked for more. For Grady's 12th birthday, they brought him a Maryland Crap with whipped cream and a cherry on top...nice touch.

Was only in OC for the day, but I knew I had to hit up an AYCE crab place before we left. Did a quick Yelp search and came across this place. Reviews were about the same as others and we were the closest to this place, so I figured why not. Ok, so $28 for all you can eat crabs---not bad. The waitress tells me that they are only female crabs and I say that's fine. Although I have been eating crabs since I could walk, I now discovered I have never had female crabs before. They were TINY and EMPTY and I was like oh hell no. The waitress suggested I upgrade to males for another $5. I said fine out of sheer disappointment. So my next batch of males arrive--they are slightly bigger and definitely meatier, but still not that great. The waitress continues to bring out more--3 at a time. After 2 trips she says, "do you want a refill?" No, thanks, I would like to pay $33 for 6 half empty crabs -_-. Anyway, I guess I expected a lot more in OC, especially on Memorial Day weekend, but I was sadly disappointed. Now, can anyone tell me where I can get some awesome, AYCE steamed crabs in MD??

Have been going to Higgins for 20 years. Took my family in last month and ordered Ex-Large crabs. We were served medium crabs. The price difference is double. Just wanted what I paid for. When I asked the waitress she seems disinterested so I asked her the managers name she did not Know. I then asked to speak to the manager. We waited another 15min and as I was leaving spoke to the manager. He offered no discount. I have sent an e-mail and still have not recieved a response. Poor customer service.

Went there with a group of 15. The food quality was extremely poor for expensive prices. Would not recommend to anyone. Left hungry because the soft shell crab sandwich was disgusting. Seafood was not fresh. There are many better places to go for quality seafood for cheaper prices. Additionally, there was an additional charge for the all you can eat crabs because of the cool water temperature (?) and the Alaskan crab legs had a fee everytime you got another round of all you can eat....defeats the "all you can eat" concept. Horrible dining experience.

    (1)
  • Amber L.

Every time I go here the service is excellent! I get crab legs and the boyfriend gets the MD crab. Both are always super fresh! Environment is really good as well compared to Hopper's where your sitting on top of one another!

  • Josh P.

This place was fun, but the all you can eat crabs were small, and the place seemed poorly air conditioned. Looks the same as it did 20 years ago. Not sure if that is good or bad. There are a lot of crab houses in OC.

On May 14, 2014 Higgins Crab House was our first night out to eat in OC, When we first sat down our waiter Jennifer gave us some warm hush puppies.. They were GOOD! Jennifer was very helpful and honest. We order 6 fried shrimp, and clam chowder for an appetizer, 1 order all you can eat Shrimp and Rib and 2 orders of AYCE Crabs and shrimp. Jennifer advised us since it's the slow season for crabs, if we get an extra pound of crabs they would charge us extra- so really it's not all you can eat depending on the season. The all you can eat comes with fries, fried chicken, corn and coleslaw. Not bad for the price you pay. I honestly wasn't crazy about the food, the shrimp had way too much old bay, and the rib had a funny taste, it was almost like that taste you get when you keep reheating meat. My friends did enjoy the crabs, but they also complained about the shrimp having way to much old bay. we took the left overs crabs to the apartment and made crab salad which was great!

Three of us decided to go to Higgins for dinner, and we left WAY overfull and quite happy. Two of our party decided to get the All-you-can-eat Crabs&Shrimp they have on their menu, and they also decided to get the 5$ upgrade each to get medium crabs instead of smalls. To be honest, of the three trays of crabs they ate, only the second was truly medium crabs, but the quality was good overall. Their specials also came with unlimited fried chicken, fries, and corn, however that was mostly ignored. I am not really a big seafoodie (besides sushi, YUM!) so I just got a fried chicken platter with corn and fries. The dark meat was really good and not greasy beyond what one might expect for fried chicken. We have gone there every year four years in a row, and it hasn't disappointed us yet!

Service was great AYCE crabs were great! Ordered the number 1 that came with fried chicken. The chicken was fantastic. Would definitely go back again.

Went with the crab cakes and corn on the cob. Crab cakes were very tasty and the corn was so tender. The hush puppies were also good.

Had a great lunch, AYCE crabs, listed on the menu at $28, discount card on the table for lunch as $24 and my surprise they were even cheaper. When the waitress, Alicia who has a personality that is just prefect for that job. The AYCE crab was only $19, plenty of other food the the grandkids to eat. The food wasn't the best but it was priced right and plentiful.

  • Jeffrey F.

This is the best AYCE crab house in Ocean City. I have eaten (mostly late lunch) here many times and always had top notch crabs and service. The hush puppies are also some of the best on the eastern shore. Who could ask for more.

  • Patrick A.

I went on a 2 day all you can eat crab feast bender over the weekend and this was stop 1. The good : AYCE crabs and corn for 22.95. Don't think I've seen it that cheap ever. The bad: Crabs were pretty small, slow service, and they put way too much old bay all over the crabs. Don't get me wrong, the place wasn't horrible and it might have gotten one more star had I not gone on to day 2 at a different spot.

  • Lyss C.

All you can eat crabs. Whats NOT to like? Btw their corn, fried chicken & fries are pretty damn good too. They also have other ayce combinations. Woot! Ill def be back ;D

So far clam chowder was just okay. Salad has brown ends. Not fresh. 9 small scallops cold slaw French fries $25 Not satisfied.

Wow - talk about portion sizes! This review is for the shellfish allergy crowd. Went with the boyfriend who pigged out on crabs and shrimp in a massive all you can eat binge. I got steak and requested semi-clean surfaces. As a place that serves almost all shellfish, they were helpful and accommodating with my wants. The steak was well cooked and food was very well prepared. The boyfriend did not have any complaints over his feast either, although I can't talk to the benefits of the shellfish items.

    (4)
  • Laura R.

Horrible service. Told us we couldn't order certain items on the menu because not everyone at our table was getting the same thing. We ended up walking out. After we waited 30 minutes for drinks. There was only two tables there besides us too.

  • Kim N.

I heart crabs, the crustaceans! I like that Higgins has different types of AYCE crab combos. I usually go for the AYCE crab & shrimp. I love the extras that they give: the fries are good, the fried chicken is tasty, the soup is okay. But let's be real here, it's all about the crabs. The crabs were good size both of the times I went and were quite meaty. Any time I find myself in Ocean City, Higgins is a must-go!

Big fan of all-you-can-eat buffets and this one was a dandy. There are a variety of different all-you-can-eat options like crabs/shrimp, shrimp/ribs, crabs/alaskan crab legs/etc, you get the idea. I chose the #5 option which the full package of all-you-can-eat which included steamed crabs/ribs/shrimp/alaskan crab legs. The appetizer includes fries/coleslaw/soup/fried chicken. You only get one piece of fried chicken and its so so at best as is the soup. I got the entree which was basically everything slapped onto a tray; very tasty. The corn on the cob was great, the ribs were a little sweet on the sauce but the crabs/crab legs/shrimp were great. Normally a big eater, I didn't even make it through the 1st tray since there was so much food. Overall, really like this place a lot.

  • Nidia S.

Amazing all-you-can-eat specials. We tried Mug & Mallet a day before this place and could really tell a difference. The restaurant is big and has a lot of parking. That is very hard to find in OC. The staff is very nice and attentive. Another hard thing to find in O.C. They actually had all-you-can-eat specials for dinner. They have a variety of combinations in-case you don't want just crabs or if you prefer something else. Their all-you-can-eat fries, chicken, and corn are great too. The beer is pretty cheap and the prices are better than most restaurants in the area. I had to give them 5 stars because compared to their competitors, they far exceeded our expectations. This place if perfect for families and seafood lovers.

  • Matt M.

Best crab around OC. The food was awesome but bring your own crab tools, they give you some pretty cheesy crackers and mallets.

  • Tiffany L.

I can't necessarily say that these Crustaceans are the best I've ever tasted (being that I still shop the supermarkets in hopes of a really great seafood sale), but they are, hands down, pretty damn good! I recently had these bad boys and at $25.95 ALL YOU CAN EAT Maryland Crabs, it is know wonder why this place becomes packed after 6pm. Be prepared to wait in line. I spent 10 out of the 15 mins of wait time getting seated, which is close to nothing compared to the amount people typically wait in Ocean City. You'll also spend your time cracking through all the shells and making a mess of yourself as well as taking gulps of water due to the overload in Old Bay, but that's what happens when you're that hungry... If you are looking to fulfill your appetite I would definitely go for the AYCE (assorted seafood) platters located on the left of the menu. For the rest of you, who are the usual, in-and-out diner type, go for the entrees that are overly priced to your right. I will say this; the MD Crab soup was hands down appetizing and unforgettable, making it #1 on the menu for me. At AYCE, Higgins is the go-to spot if you are a seafood lover like me and what's better than eating assorted seafood down the block from the beach...

Delicious and fresh steamed crabs. The bay seasoning is to die for. If ordering individual crabs, go for the large; the XL and jumbo ones are the same size, just heavier.

  • Annie R.

Good crabs but they get cold quick because of how cold it is inside. Great service. Don't try and use your passport as your form of I.D. because they wont take it! Also, they lost points for not having the mini crab forks.

It was an exceptional evening in Ocean City. Perfect for sitting on the upper deck here. The music act (didn't get her name) made it great fun too! I started with a beer which was very cold. My wifes iced tea was good too. We did not order an appetizer. For dinner she had the scallops and a crab cake and I had the fried chicken and a crab cake. The cake was mostly crab and was good. My wife liked her scallops and the fried chicken was hot, fresh, crispy, tender and very good. The coleslaw was ok and the corn was very sweet. Our waiter, Chad, was very nice and very efficient. My wife said he is cute! Lol. Have a great school year Chad. We would come back here again.

Disappointing crab feast. We had the AYCE crabs and corn (this specific option is listed only on their site). As soon as I looked at the first tray, I knew this may not be the exciting feast we were hungry for. The crabs looked dry, not fresh, cold. I think they get them ready ahead of time and then stick them in the oven for a few minutes and bring it out dry. The seasoning, was dry flakes on top, it didn't stick due to lack of moisture. Not the delicious mix I am used to. At least their butter dip was tasty and masked some of the disappointment. The most irritating thing, besides the cold dry crabs, was that most were empty, had little meat. By the time we got to our final refill they brought out meatier crabs, but we were exhausted from breaking all the empty ones and were getting ready to leave. Overall, we broke a lot of shell, got so-so tasting, dry, mostly empty, small, dirty crabs with poor seasoning. After sifting through crab guts we were glad that at least the corn didn't leave us too hungry. So the cheapest all you can eat crab option for two, no drinks/water, ended up being around $78 with tip. Since we left with a bad taste in our mouths and were still hungry, this is a rip off.

One of the best meals I had in Ocean City! The cream of crab soup is to die for. If you get a chance, order it! I also had the rib sampler and it was fall off the bone tender. Hubby had all you can eat crabs and he enjoyed it. Also, the hush puppies are the best I've ever eaten! I could have just eaten 6 baskets of hush puppies as my meal.

THE BEST CRAB PLACE IN OCEAN CITY!!!! Can't beat the prices and the quality of crabs. The rooftop is also now open which makes this place even better.

"Medium" steak was very very well done. While it's not a steak house, this was a bit surprising for $30. Crab cake was excellent. Staff was very friendly. Very casual atmosphere.

My husband carried out a half bushel of crabs and 2 lbs of steamed shrimp. My husband said the employee working the take-out was very knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful with the crabs. When he brought them back to the condo the crabs were very good, seasoned to perfection. The shrimp were good too but nothing special. My husband stated that they were also very reasonably priced for their crabs. I would definitely recommend this place to at least carry out as we would definitely eat there again!

It was close to our hotel and busy for a Monday night. We were seated soon after entering and sat in the outdoor area upstairs. We noticed most people were having the All You Can Eat Combinations but we weren't as hungry. The Seafood Platter had Broiled Fish, Crab Cake, Soft Shell Crab, Shrimp, and Clams. It was good but portions were surprisingly small for the price. The Soft Shell Crab Sandwich with Homemade Cole Slaw was very good and price was reasonable. I guess it's all about location. Lastly, it took about 10 minutes before our waiter greeted us. But he was very responsive and attentive during the rest of our meal. I actually want to give 3.5 stars but it doesn't let me.

Wow, I love Higgins! Craving it at 10 in the morning is a good sign, right? Definitely come here with a big appetite!!! I ordered the snow crab leg platter... Came with two pounds of crab legs and two sides. Absolutely delicious! Their prices were great for being a seafood restaurant in a tourist town! Great service and great atmosphere. Can't wait to return next time I'm in OC.

Was ok. Crap cake had too much mayo and steamed shrimp tasted like you were just eating a salt stick. Corn on cob was awesome and inside of restaurant seemed like it was updated recently. Waitress was also nice and timely

Superb!!!!! After being run off after 25 years at PGN crab house after 25 years we found this gem called Higgins Crab House. We had this sweet girl Clementine as our wait staff. She took care of ALL our needs like a pro. Good was great wife had all you can eat crabs I had crab cake. My son had the fries and mots sticks. The food was great. We found a new place. The all you can eat specials are awesome. You can mix and match to your hearts desire. Also great silver queen corn. Please ask for Clementine. You will be very pleased.

First off, worst service in the history of service. Our server took 15 mins to come Over after we were sat and 10 others employees sat across the deck and watched us helplessly look for someone to order through. Then once our server finally came we had the worst hush puppies and fried chicken thrown on our tables I have ever put my mouth on. came here for a nice date and this place ruined ever aspect of that. No clue what the hype is about this place. Awful. Would not recommend this to anyone. And never coming back.

Crabs crabs and more crabs. Great customer service even though the crabs weren't very meaty due to the season. Management handled the situation and gave us FRESH CRABS that were BIGGER. Left a nice 40 tip. Thank you for your service.

My husband and I went to Higgins for dinner this evening. We were greeted immediately and seated right away. The restaurant had about 4 tables besides us but this is the "off season" so that was to be expected. Higgins is a crab house so nothing fancy. The restaurant looked to be recently renovated so everything was new and fresh. Our waitress was very friendly and prompt, which I really appreciated. We didn't go for the all you can eat special but I do think it's a good dea. Every table gets their famous hush puppies (they were great)! We both got the backfin crabcake sandwich. It was a good portion size and came with your choice of a side. I would defiantly recommend Higgins and we will be back on our next visit.

Crabs were good. We only bought 4 super jumbo. I wouldn't consider them super jumbo but they were full and tasty. Shrimp was perfectly cooked and service was great.

Awesome crabs, awesome shrimp! Great for eat-in, or carry-out to the beach (which was our first meal here).

We are here on spring break and tried this place only because a lot of other ones weren't open. I guess off season on Thursday. Hush puppies were the best thing about the meal and the service second. Food was mediocre at best. Entrees were a little pricey, nothing special. Not inventive on the seasoning at all, particularly on the non-crab dishes. One of my kids' order of crabs was way over-seasoned and salty but they did enjoy the fried chicken and sides. Overall, wouldn't recommend it.

The crabs started out good but do decline as they go. It seems like they know you have ordered a few batches and give less good ones. Some idiot was yelling at table but we ignored him. Did come back and they were good. Good price in Oc though

My family of four had a great experience with the All You Can Eat Crab Buffet over the July 4th weekend. The crabs were small but that is to be expected with All You Eat deals. The crabs were perfectly steamed and served with sides of butter, vinegar and Old Bay. The corn was delicious as well. Our server provided great service and checked with us frequently to see when we were ready for more crabs. In the past we have had one negative experience with water logged crabs here but this visit was exceptional. Higgins also had the lowest price for All You Can Eat Crabs during our stay in Ocean City.

Recently remodeled and a friendly and attentive staff! Crab prices are about the same all I've The beach area so what makes this place stand out....prompt service and good flavor on the crabs! A must visit for seafood.

Portions are great BUT food is bland. Hush puppies came towards the end of the meal. Very expensive for the average working family and the product not good at all. I will not eat their again. That's a promise!

I brought a small party (6 total) to this location for an introduction to Maryland crabs. We had 3 dozen jumbo crabs. There are a few things that I really liked about the restaurant. This location is relatively new, so it was basically fresh and clean. The daily prices per dozen are clearly listed on a chalk board, so you know what they have and the current price, and there are no added surcharges (just because we want to), like some other crab restaurants in the area. When the crabs arrived, they were arranged on a tray so that you could count and judge the size, all uniformly the same jumbos that we ordered. There were exactly 12 in each dozen and each crab was whole with no missing legs. Seasoning was not overpowering, with extra seasoning brought to the table if you wanted more. Prices are a little higher than some other places, but the product is good. Service was acceptable, but not great. The place was busy, but not overcrowded. One of my guests ordered a blooming onion side, which was very good, but too much food to eat there, considering the amount of crab we ordered.

This place gets 3 stars for a few reasons. The first reason is because they offer all you can eat on crab legs but then charge $4.50 if you want to have another helping of it. Which, in short, is not all you can eat then. So you pay $39.99 for all you can eat, which is about 3 pounds, then if you want more it'll be $4.50 a pound. The second reason this place gets 3 stars is because their food, all of their food, lacks seasonings and taste. My fiancé got a steak and it was very bland, the all you can eat platters come with fried chicken, that too was practically tasteless and the steamed shrimp was plain as well. The only good tasting food was the corn on the cob. I will say that the crab legs platter does come with a healthy serving that you probably won't need another helping but they still shouldn't advertise all you can eat if it's not all you can eat.

Went here because my nephew wanted to go out for crabs. We got the all you can eat and they were horrible. Mushy, some looked like they were too small to sell, were very light, the crab shells were like paper (you could literally stick your finger through the shell) & majority had hardly any Seasoning... some not having any at all. The corn was decent. Defiantly NOT worth the $100.00 we dropped!

I wish I could give this place ZERO stars. It is severely overpriced for subpar food. My husband and I ordered frozen drinks and a sandwich each and it was well over $50. Biggest waste too since we both ended up SICK. Our waitress would disappear for periods of time and it took forever for anything to come out. It took 20 minutes for our drinks alone... And it wasn't even that busy. We will NEVER go there again and advised everyone we encountered of the same.

Place is a joke... Was with someone who ordered an all you can eat plate and since I am pregnant explained to our waitress i was just going to have a crab leg from her all you can eat platter since i cant eat much seafood.... Girl was rude and told me i had to order my own...wouldnt recommend this place to anyone and sad to say her tip will suck too...

This location is not as great as the 100 street one! But they have tons of parking, and it's close to the boardwalk so we rolled in here with a large party. They had to split us up at two tables which was kinda sad, I kinda dislike when restaurants say they can accommodate you but don't mention they'll split you up until you get there (we made reservations). Of course I did all you can eat streamed crabs for 34.99!!!! That comes with fries, Cole slaw, and fried chicken. (Medium crabs cost a little more at 39.99) The hush puppies fresh out of the fryer are delicious as well. This place is STICKY And hot though as the area we sat in didn't have much AC and was not the best environment for a long meal like all you can eat! We were in the room behind the hostess stand, but it seems like the room to the right has more ac and better lighting. The corn here is always good ! So good! Fresh and sweet! All in all, service was good she tried her best but she was working like a dog scrambling from table to table, so it was slow at times. I like the other Higgins better because it's newer and not so hole in the wall. THE CRAB dip!!!! Was so good, not just a cream cheese mess it comes out looking like french onion soup but fear not dig in! The crab dip was the best of all the places we tried in OC (dead freddies & hooked).

They messed up our carry order one night, but they made it up to us the next night by giving us a free order of hush puppies. They were delicious. I highly recommend the crab dip in a bread bowl!! It was the best crab dip I've ever had. Their crabcakes, mussels, and clams are also really good!

Over priced and poorly served. Food was burnt, the server was uninformed and their salad came straight from a bag. It wasn't even fresh. Don't waste your money.

Delicious food on the main strip in Ocean City. You have to eat crab in Maryland and this crab was on point.

This place was great! ( I'm a OC steamer fan) but they have been slipping up so I gave this place a try and I'm glad I did!! The crabs where MUCH MUCH plumper and fuller then OC steamers! You could tell none of them where re-heated. The only thing I didn't like was that they only bring 6 out at a time...so if me and my fiancé go we each get 3 each round...I asked are waiter and she wasn't allowed to bring out more then 6 at a time but hey that didn't bother us that much...it was just more work on her end having to run back and forth every 10 mins!! Haha. But besides that it was great!

Horribly overpriced. I got a crab sandwich and they gave me two tiny slices of cheap bread and a hunk of crab.

Higgins is a great family experience! My brother ordered the Cajun catfish platter which he loves (he's a new Orleans boy). My parents ordered the all you can eat crabs and corn special for $29 and I got the all you can eat crabs, corn, coleslaw, hush puppies, fries and chicken for $35. First of all, let me say the hush puppies are delicious! (One of the major reasons I chose the 'everything' all you can eat) The fried chicken is very good too! I told the waitress to hold the fries and just got refills on hush puppies and chicken :) the crabs just kept coming! Always kept warm & spiced with old bay...it doesn't get much better than this! The service was great, the food is great, the all-you-can-eat crabs are great and all for much cheaper than other restaurants in ocean city!

They got our party of 8 in pretty quickly. All in all I felt the food was overpriced for what you get. They had a 4.50 per pound refill charge for the all you can eat king crablegs. And $14 for a pitcher of beer is pretty ridiculous. We picked them because they were across the street from our hotel. Next time, I will go somewhere else.

We love Higgins and we go here every time we visit OCMD! Service was great! We got all you can eat shrimp, crab, and crab legs. Everything was great and the crab was so steaming hot I had to let it cool a minute....um AWESOME!!! Only complain is that the fries that come with the chicken and slaw were old. You can tell they had been sitting there for awhile. Bleck....but the awesomeness of the meats I will let the soggy old fries slide. We love Higgins and will be back!

Just based on the all you can eat snow crab, the pricing is absurd. 40 dollars for 2 lbs of snow crab AND you get charged 5 dollars for each additional pound you get. Unacceptably expensive. I have been to many All you can eat crab leg places that charge ~35 flat. The food was decent. I got two pounds of crab legs and crab dip and it was pretty good.

The service was ok. I'm not one to knock a place for their service but I am one to knock a place for food. I go out to eat more than to enjoy customer service. The food gets a 2 out of 5 becausr of the way they over spice. My friends ordered Crabs they couldn't even finish. My lobster tails were cooked well but they added unnecessary spices to cover the lobster. My advice to them is to bring the spices down you dont want to take away from the fish, esp if its the focal point of the meal.

I was not very impressed with this restaurant. I went for lunch and everything was very expensive. I was looking to get something on the lighter side so I ended up getting a fish and chips sandwich which consisted of one filet served on two slices of white bread. One thing I did really enjoy was the complimentary basket of hush puppies we got when we were seated. I know it's a crab house, but my first experience didn't really impress me enough to come back and try the crabs. There are a lot of better crab houses in the area that are much better.

Excellent crabs, BEST hush puppies, fresh and hot! Reasonable prices! Casual place, but food and service was great. Craving more crabs as I type this, lol :)

I stayed very close to Higgins so I could walk there and I love crabs. We got crabs twice to go. Their crabs are very tasty and meaty. They had medium male crabs $40 a dozen large was $66 jumbo was $109. We had the corn on the cob it was sweet, they don't shuck the corn. I like the corn it was great. The staff was friendly and you can eat outside they have picnic tables outside. The fried chicken was ok.

Higgins got us, a party of 22, in within 30 min. Which was great! The food tasted pretty good. While you have to work for anything shelled of course! The disappointment, however, was the size of the platters. One might think that a "platter" would be generous portions; especially at the price of $25-$35. However, it was more like a plate or appetizer size. For example, we ordered the crab stuffed shrimp for $32 and the were five medium sized shrimp on a plate with garnish. There were six of us at a table (our party was divided), ordered three platters thinking it would be enough food. The waitress, Nikki, seeing our disappointment, generously gave us two free hashbrown appetizers on the house. She was great. But paying a $100 bill for a hardly filling meal was rather disappointing. I would suggest, if you go to Higgins, be willing to pay a little bit more and just get the all you can eat options!

Completely met our expectations. I wanted unlimited crabs, so I went with the medium crabs. The seasoning on the crab was spot on. The waitress came to check on me often. After the 8th round, I was spent. The corn and the fried chicken were pleasant bonus' as well! My wife got the large steamed spiced shrimp. They didn't disappoint either. There was over 20 shrimp in the basket and these monsters were seasoned perfectly.

Prices were good and food was plentiful. Crab seasoning salty but that's ok. Ribs, shrimp and corn were also good. Surprisingly the fries were great. Exceptional service with no wait. We will do this again. Give them a try.

Compared a few (Higgins, On the Bay, Hoopers and Sneaky Petes)all you can eat joints in Ocean City this weekend during Bike Fest. (not a biker myself) but went down just to satisfy my craving for crab. This was the first place we tried based on Yelp reviews and I can say it was by far the best of the ones we ate at. The crabs were bigger here than the others, cleaner and more flavorful. It was also the cheapest place of the ones we tried and had a early bird special which I do not recommend if you are doing AYCE.(only enough time to get in about half a dozen crabs or so (seated by 4:30 pm and paid and out before 6pm for $18.99). Staff was very courteous and didn't seem to mind that we were there for 3 hours.(I did the regular priced option AYCE crab and corn for $23.99). Thinking about making the 5 hour drive again this weekend with some more friends. It was definitely worth the trip.

One of the things at the top of my list for my beach weekend was to go to an "all you can eat" crab place. We chose Higgins because at $26.95 it was in the middle-range for prices, included sides, and, with the row of outdoor picnic tables, had a fun atmosphere. Our waitress kept the crabs coming without us even having to ask. We had butter, vinegar, and old bay to dip the crab in and a big bucket for the shells which they emptied when it got full. The crabs were medium in size with a few small ones that we avoided and a few large ones that we hunted for. As for the sides, the cole slaw and the Maryland crab soup were okay and the corn, steamed in the husk, was sweet and delicious. Fried chicken was also offered as a side and helped fill you up when you were tired of picking crabs. All in all a fun, messy, and delicious time!

You sure do get a lot to eat for the price at Higgins. AYCE Crabs and Corn for $22.99..... what a great value in Ocean City, they are the AYCE headquarters.... from Steamed Shrimp and Baby Back Ribs, to Crabs and Baby Back Ribs... there's an AYCE combo for everyone.... the crabs are very well seasoned and prepared, and I love the old time crab shack setting and atmosphere.

Looking for quantity?? Then go to Higgins... But don't expect good quality. Some crabs were dry and disgusting not edible.

The crab cakes were excellent and the tartar sauce tasted homemade. They have a nice selection of sides to choose from and the kids meal selections are great. My kids ate the food which says a lot about a restaurant, in my opinion. We would absolutely return to this place when we come to visit the area again.
