Came here four years and alas it was just as good. I had the mega lobster roll. I often don't like fried seafood but the light done tempura lobster was perfect.y son had the orange chicken and nearly ate all of then tool leftovers back to the condo and ate his leftovers and he's always a pain about his leftovers. My daughter ate every bit of the rolls she ordered. Oh and the hot green tea was excellent. It wasn't just weak tea bag kind. The miso soup was very good and was only 2 Next time I am in town I will be back We all left full and had leftovers and it was $30 less than the all you can eat seafood buffets for a family of four. So you get top quality AND it's cheaper than all you eat

Went there while I was on vacation with my family and we had a great eclectic meal...miso soup, three types of sushi, Mongolian Beef, General Tso's chicken, lo mein and fried rice. Some people might say that you shouldn't have "Chinese" food in a Japanese restaurant, but Blue Fish is able to do a great job in preparing the various cuisines all under the same elegant roof. The chefs are able to make authentic Japanese, Thai and Chinese dishes and that means you won't have to go to three different restaurants on vacation! Give it a shot and I don't think you will be disappointed!

Good, tasty sushi. Fast and courteous service. The best feature: no long waiting line on a Saturday night during peak season. You can't beat that!

Great service and super fresh sushi. We ordered quite a few things. The red dragon was my favorite, but the sashimi was very fresh. We also had the Chicago roll with seared steak is a great try for those non sushi eaters. We will try to make it back before we end our vacation.

Went here for a dinner on a Friday night. It was very crowded but we were sat in a good amount of time. We ordered two sushi rolls and Pad Thai. The sushi was fresh tasting and delicious, and the Pad Thai was very obviously made fresh with a little kick of spice. The service and food are great here!

Well what a fantastic dining experience that almost happened. My husband and I call Blue Fish at 8:15pm to make a reservation for 2. The hostess informed me that they do not take reservations but there were PLENTY of tables available. Yessss! - we thought.. So we told them we would be there in 10 minutes. We arrived at 8:20pm (5 minutes later) and were informed by the same hostess that there were no available seats and the wait was about 20 minutes. Apparently all of ocean city arrived within those five minutes of us driving. We probably would've made it in four minutes had they lit the exterior sign. The sign was dark and barely legible. Upon entering the restaurant I was nearly knocked down by the smell of raw fish. Very disheartening. Between the nearly noxious smell and the standoff personalities of the hostesses we decided it would be best if we left and made OC Wasabi our next destination. Good thing too, because that blew Blue Fish out of the water!!!

Yummmmm, yumm, yumm, yum. My family and I came in for lunch today for the very first time, after reading so many positive reviews and seeing some amazing pictures I knew I had to try it out. I'm so glad that we did! We ordered the eel roll, B52 and the double delight for our sushi and my daughter got the chicken lomein. All of it was delish. I look forward to making this my go to when I'm in the mood for sushi while on vacation.

Absolutely amazing - the best sushi I've ever had! So good that we went back two days in a row. Alec is an amazing waiter and made it such a fun experience. Highly recommend!

Blue Fish is definitely a great sushi option in OCMD. ASK about their specials. They are not listed anywhere but the servers are ready to tell you about them. They definitely are the best things the place has to offer. For my meal I had the edamame to start. Nicely steamed with sea salt. FOr my entree I shared the chicken with broccoli, Maryland roll and Double delight roll. All three were on point but the Maryland roll is what really made this place stand out. They found a way to get the flavor of their city into a sushi roll and that honestly made me smile. Service was great. Cool girl who knows here sushi and clearly cares about her customers and the restaurant she works in. very reasonable prices.

Blue Fish is a comfortable place with nice staff. Neither the food or ambience is particularly amazing, but both are acceptable. My one criticism is that they try to cover too many Asian cuisines - Japanese, Chinese & Thai, but just don't seem to get the Thai right. Treat this like an American Chinese restaurant and you'll be satisfied, but venture into the Thai dishes and you may be disappointed.

After a bad experience at another OC sushi spot, we were very pleasantly surprised by Blue Fish. Our server was friendly and accommodating, and our meal was great. The kids shared their usual Asian fare of miso soup, edamame, and shrimp shumai - and everything was good, but there were no standouts there. Our sushi, however, and the special tuna dumplings, were terrific. We had the Maryland roll - a nice twist of local flavor, the Hawaiian roll, and the Tuna Madness roll - our favorite. Skip the salad - the ginger dressing is over sweet and the greens are bland.

Food is edible and service is fine. But the food quality does not meet our average expectation at all. A group of us ordered sushi, pepper and steak, rice noodle with shrimp, ahi tower, and Thai drunken noodle. They are just decent enough to not feel hungry because they aren't well made. Taste is all plain, nothing special about the food here. We all feel like this experience didn't meet our expectations based on the restaurant's high rated of review.

I have been coming to Ocean City for over 50 years and never went to an Asian food restaurant because I have high standards. I ordered Kung Pao chicken and my hubby got crispy chicken. The food and server Tim were amazing. If brown rice was available I would give it a 5. Definitely coming back.

Honestly, I'm not a big seafood fan (more of a meathead LOL) but after eating a fair amount of average buffet BBQ meat the night before I wanted to try some seafood. Plus being in a coastal vacation area, I'd hope and expect the seafood would be very fresh. There are sooo many seafood restaurants in Ocean City but not many Asian themed ones. Blue Fish looked to be the best one based on all the reviews I found. For the appetizer I ordered the pepper crusted Ahi Tuna with yuzu dipping sauce and it was excellent. The tuna was super fresh with an awesome smokey pepper crust and the yuzu gave an added sweeter element to the dish to contrast the smokey pepper.........good start! The entrees I ordered were the General Tso's Twin Delight and the Thai Curry Chicken. -For those not well versed in Chinese food, General Tso is a sweet & spicy syrupy coating added to a battered fried protein, which 99% of the time is chicken and a staple dish of most local take-out Chinese places. It's not a traditional Chinese cooking style but one which was probably developed for Western palettes. The Twin Delight takes the General Tso style and applies it to scallops and peeled shrimp and it worked! Both the scallops and shrimp survived the batter and frying process to remain moist and fresh tasting with no hint of being overcooked. The General Tso's sweet coating was quite a departure from what you usually get as it was lighter (maybe they used less corn starch to thicken it) and had a nice honey taste. It could use a little added notch on the Scoville scale as I felt it needed a little more heat. -The Thai Curry Chicken was equally tasty with a nice light curry, a hint of coconut milk, moist chicken, and plenty of fresh vegetables. I've been reducing my consumption of white rice for several years but the Curry sauce was so tasty poured over the rice that I finished the entire bowl. Again I thought the Curry could have used an extra kick in spice, but I do have a pretty high tolerance for hot & spicy foods, and most restaurants tend to err on the side of caution and tame down the heat. For a nice change of place from the Ocean City buffets try this place out!

We ordered a Kani salad, tuna dumplings, mt Fuji roll and a spicy tuna roll. All were so great! The mt Fuji roll was so amazing. I can't wait to come back to order it again! I feel like this is the best sushi place in OCMD, and I'm a picky sushi eater!!

Delicious sushi! Interesting ingredient combos! Great service and atmosphere! Try the Long Island and Alec rolls! Overall definitely worth trying out!

Some of the best sushi I've had! It was delicious, and I would defiantly get it again. We ordered carry out and they were quick, and ready to go.

  • Tamara G.

The food was very tasty, but I think many people come here for the sushi. I had the Christmas roll and it was delicious! The interior was nice and there were not a lot of people eating at the time we went. The waiter was very courteous and helpful as well. While we mainly come down to oc for the crab and lobster, this was a nice change up into our schedule. We will definitely come again in the near future!

Great drinks, nice setting despite a former fast food joint they make the setting work. Felt a bit rushed during the in season to re fill out seat once we were done.

Rockin sushi, great vibe. The chefs gave us homemade wasabi with the special dish, live scallops on ice. Excellent waiter, you should be lucky to have her.

Well, one of the only great eats hee in OC, very surprising find. But come before 9:30 pm everything here shuts down early when it comes to restaurants with no bar.

Rolls are so original. Those Alec rolls are the bomb. Service was stupendous. I would definitely come back.

Had the tuna madness roll and it was delicious. I try sushi from all over the east coast and this place was really good. The service was also excellent. I will definitely come here again when I am vacationing in the area.

  • Prashanth N.

This place is just a fancy chinese take out. I'm not sure why they don't have any fresh seafood.. Sushi is just ok.. Presentation is nice, but food taste is bad. Not sure why they are trying to do everything. A Japanese restaurant shouldn't try to make chinese and thai

I've been vacationing in ocmd for 4 years now and I always passed by this place and now I'm mad I haven't been here sooner! The food is amazing and great sushi!!! My bf and I got spicy tuna crunch with avocado and the dragon roll! I also got the drunken noodle to share, I'm so glad we came here, we will be back every year! Great service too.

    (5)
  • Martin P.

Fast attentive service. The food was very good and very reasonably priced for the area. We were only in ocean city for a week and we came here twice!

  • Matt W.

Most amazing Asian food. The Thai is great. The sushi is great. The Chinese is great. Can't believe we've been coming to OC for four years and never tried it! We will be back!!!

    (5)
  • Frank L.

Sushi was far below expectations. As someone who likes sushi, I could barely eat what was served. The rolls had more filler then I've ever seen and the "fresh fish" had a blended consistency with the filler making it quite lousy. The Chinese food was more edible but also below average. Service slow but people were nice and also apologetic. Pricing 20-30 a person. Would not recommend trying.

Not a huge sushi fan but man, I absolutely enjoyed Blue fish. Fresh and tasty sushi, beautifully presented as well. I can't remember all the sushi we had since I'm writing this review a month after my visit but I can recall having the Hawaiian roll (mango/avocado/crab?) the dinosaur egg, and a bunch of other rolls I wish I can remember the names of... But whatever, it's amazing; just go if you want sushi at the beach!

    (5)
  • Bethany B.

I'm sure their food is good but the hostess skipped us 4 tables ago so we never got to find out. Full time hostesses and still skipping patrons, not professional.

  • Nora H.

Excellent sushi. Great selection of cold sake. Unexpectedly great dessert. I also ate one of their Thai dishes, and it was abundant and OK, however, I've had better at Thai restaurants. Customer service was great. We visited this restaurant two years ago on a previous vacation, and were impressed. This time were were even more impressed with the quality of the sushi. We will be back the next time we visit Ocean City.

First time dining here and it was AMAZING! We will definitely be returning. Service was prompt and very friendly. I highly recommend the Blue Fish mojito! Yummy! I'm a huge sushi fan and it was absolutely delicious! We had the Philadelphia roll which had smoked salmon, you could really taste the smoke flavor. We also had B-52 roll and the Tuna Madness roll which I both highly recommend! The prices weren't too bad, what I would expect for the caliber of food and location. Try it out.... You will not be disappointed!

Seriously. This is the best sushi I've had outside San Francisco. Just the perfect amount of rice to fish. Super fresh. Well seasoned rice. My son loved his Chinese food here too. Friendly folks and nice atmosphere.

We dine at Blue Fish whenever we are in town. It is without a doubt one of the VERY BEST restaurants in Ocean City. The food is EXCELLENT as well as the presentation. The one thing about Blue Fish that sets it apart is that it has excellent servers. ( LUCY)Professional and polite it is a dramatic change from the rest of Ocean Cities waiters and waitresses .If you don't dine here when you are in Ocean City you need your head examined.

Great food and service! We have gotten the Peking duck multiple times and one of our party who's eaten it in Asia was very impressed today in both its taste and presentation. May be ridiculously busy in the summer, but off season it's been perfect. Stands up to any Asian restaurant I've been to in any metropolitan locals.

Delicious sushi and fast service! The fried noodles were great as was the hot and sour soup! We enjoyed the unique rolls and there certainly were lots of choices! We will definitely return.

My first visit on a rainy March Sunday. Pleasantly surprised when the restaurant had a number of tables full. Salad was fresh, miso soup warming. Sashimi dinner was amazing! Fresh. Presentation was phenomonal. 5 Stars! Will be back

Excellent both the food and service. Loved that they made the sushi rolls slightly different so that they could cut them in smaller pieces per my request. Will definitely be going back :-)

Ordered carry out pad Thai, and crab wontons. Crab wontons were nothing fancy pad Thai was horrible, it had some type of peanuts on it that were powdered. Blah I couldn't eat it.

Blue Fish was great! Fresh Sushi, deliciously prepared meals, and excellent service. I would come back here 100 times- I may even go back tonight who knows!!! We were staying at our families beach house in Ocean City- it was my first time visiting and I was starving! There are so many places up and down coastal highway to choose from. Buffets, prime rib, smorgasbords and fried chicken... On a hot humid day it sounded gross. Yelp reviews gave Blue Fish great ratings and sushi sounded just perfect for this type of day. We went for a late lunch- around 2pm. The restaurant was pretty much empty. From the outside t didn't look like anything fancy, but inside it was tastefully decorated with rich woods, clean tables and sheer curtains. The menu was large- Japanese, Chinese and Thai. I was a bit worried since combo restaurants I have tried like this- always seem to get something wrong. We ordered edamame to start. And some fun Japanese sodas and coconut punch. The edamame was good- though I usually like mine a little more salty. It worked great for my mother who can't have hers that salty though. We ordered a bunch of rolls. The Hawaiian (coconut fried shrimp, spicy mayo, mango and probably lots of other delicious stuff). a tuna roll, a Maryland crab roll, California. The lobster special that they featured and an eel roll. We also ordered the Dragon Phoenix Chinese dinner. Overall it was delicious! We all left happy and full. They got it right! They managed the dreaded Asian combo restaurant without a glitch! I should also note that service was exceptional. Our server was very pleasant, helpful with menu suggestions and quick! She knew we had a baby at the table and provided efficient service.

Been going here since they opened . The quality seems to have gone down a bit and wish they would still give more than two small wontons in the soup. little pricey but will give it another shot next summer. while its not bad food by any means, the dishes we normally got were not as flavorful. good have been an off night. The service was very good. This is an updated review since the owner took the time to address my concerns via yelp.

Delish!!! First off seating was fast, and we beat the 7pm rush...Food was Ahhhh-mazing!!!! Definitely as another reviewer suggested, go for the tuna avocado salad AND tuna dumpling...beyond amazing in your mouth ;-) ordered the Triple delight and hubs got a few of the spicy tuna rolls... Everything was a delight and our waiter was the best, didn't understand him half the time because of his accent lol but the sweetest and best. Definitely will come back.. See u soon OC!

Went here two years in a row while on vacation for some sushi. The first year we had a few sushi rolls and the tuna dumplings. The texture of the tuna dumpling just didn't work and I would not recommend this starter. Both the nigori sakes are good choices but we haven't tried any of the other drink options. This most recent time we got the Alec, tuna dynamite, salmon lemon, B52, and a rainbow roll. I would recommend the Alec, B52 and the tuna. The rainbow roll was sub par compared to the other rolls we got. I recommend this as a place to get sushi if the flying fish in fenwick is full for dinner.

  • Kimberly M.

Ended up here because OC Wasabi was closed. Sushi was decent albeit a little overpriced for such small portions. Our server recommended the $12 Asian Pear Sake and it was horrible. The Hawaiian Roll was delicious. The cucumber and eel roll was mostly just cucumber. The Philly roll was stuffed with too much cream cheese and barely a sliver of salmon. Again, it was all edible, but just lacked in certain areas. Took about 40 minutes to get our food so the waiter gave us crunchy noodles to snack on. Eh. Would I go back? Probably if I had no other choice. Decor was nice, although the outside of the building still looks like a Burger King ;)

Ate here with my husband Tuesday night after Memorial Day. Only 3 other tables were taken at dinner time. I had the sesame chicken which was delicious and a big portion. My husband had something (not a roll or sushi or wrap) with raw tuna in it which was beautifully presented on the plate and he said it was very good. The service was great and we would definitely go back next time we go to Ocean City.

Had dinner here last night based on other yelp reviews. Huge menu offering Chinese,Thai, and Japanese cuisine. We stuck with Japanese and ordered the chirashi entree which comes with miso soup and house salad, the Alec specialty roll, and yellowtail maki as appetizer. The dishes arrived promptly and artfully arranged. It was too pretty to eat. But of course we did, and it was delicious! the raw was super fresh, rice perfectly seasoned, the sauce on the Alec roll was a wonderful blend of flavors. Our waiter was Lucy, and she was very pleasant, attentive and informative. Two thumbs up!

Great sushi! Little loud but we sat at the sushi bar so we were away from the main dining room noise. Defiantly try the angel roll and the lovers roll! Great dessert too! First time having fried cheesecake and it was amazing!!!

Best Sushi I have had in Ocean City so far! Service was amazing and quick, atmosphere beautiful, and food is just wonderful. I recommend a specialty roll and the seaweed salad (don't know it till you try it!), both were wonderful. Gluten free soy sauce options, and fully cooked sushi rolls as well.

Located at 94th street, it's a great place to hop off Coastal Highway after a long drive to grab some food. However, after reading all the wonderful yelp reviews, I was a little disappointed. I ordered 3 rolls and they were teeny! I mean really teeny, tiny! And each roll was about $2 more than other places I've gotten sushi from. My boyfriend got the Spicy Roll Combo which came with 3 rolls and his were substantially bigger than mine; I'm assuming not made by the same chef. The table next to ours ordered a lot of rolls off the specialty rolls menu and they looked really good...but at $18 each, no thanks! However, I did really like the ambiance of the inside and their chinese food looked really yummy! Leaving with a lighter wallet is fine, but not when you're still hungry...

So, we came to Ocean City just for the day, in the hopes of a beach day but it was cloudy so that's how we found this little gem. Okay, I'll start with the service... The moment we walked in, we were greeted with a smile and were seated right away. I came in with THE WORST HICCUPS. Our waiter said he'd be right back with a cure. He brought me some white vinegar and said "trust me, it'll work," and BOOM! They were gone instantly. He was such a great waiter. Anyways, he brought our drinks right away and we ordered the sushi. The Maryland roll, Fire Island and Mexican roll... Just fantastic. They were so fresh and flavorful. And not bad pricing! I wish we lived closer to come back more often but I'll definitely know where to recommend for great sushi in OC!

  • Chavi B.

This place was pretty good! I got a few sushi rolls. The crunchy tuna roll was so fresh tasting, & the sweet potato roll was delicious. My boyfriend got the shrimp lo mien but the waiter was an older man & honestly he messed up my boyfriends order. He was also not knowledgable about the menu at all. It would have been okay if he just said he didn't know but he answered my questions wrong. Oh well, that was the only bad thing. It was busy, nice environment, & not far from the beach.

  • C S.

Meh. Warmish sushi rolls (not cold at all), request for extra Wasabi and ginger ignored. Our table had a persistent ant (just one) that wouldn't go away. Sushi was passable at best. Service was consistent with food quality. Nice enough inside, but you can tell the building was once a burger king (drive thru a dead giveaway). Probably should have given two stars, but we went late and maybe its better during prime time.

Just wonderful we arrived at 6:30 a party of 5 and we were so glad to be seated right away as we were all very hungry. Our server quickly took our drink orders while we looked over the extensive menu. The General Tso shrimp and scallops was just amazing crispy and delicious filled with lots of large scallops and shrimp. Everyone was so satisfied with their fingers that we are going back there tomorrow. One of the best dinner and dinning experience we have EVER had in Ocean City.

Hands-down one of the best sushi/Asian cuisine places I've been in Maryland, i'm originally from the West Coast and always looking for a good sushi place and I found it when I walk in this place... If you come here ask for" ALEC "he WILL GIVE YOU ALL THE DOWN LOW ON WHAT'S GOOD HERE

We were in Ocean City to make a music video so our film crew went there for dinner. The main reason we went there is because we were looking for Thai food and Google search said they were a partly Thai restaurant. It turned out that was a stretch - they had about 4 menu items which were Thai-style but really, it seems, this is mostly a sushi restaurant which also has many Chinese menu choices. We were the only customers and it was late - about 8:30 PM on a Tuesday night and the season hadn't started yet. The dishes were okay but only okay. I am thinking that in season, this venue might hop. Chinese beer was over $6 each which I thought was a bit pricey. Our check came to $158 with tip.

Went here this summer with my wife. We sat at the sushi bar because there was a good wait for a table. Very nice design to start with. Service was immaculate. The sushi chef was very friendly and helpful, and he even did special plating/decorating for a couple of the dishes we got. Their cocktails were also on point. The experience overall was quite amazing. Will definitely return next time we hit OC.

Very fresh sushi....5 of us went and must have ordered about 9 rolls. All of them were very tasty and fresh. Presentation was good. Prices are reasonable. Kani salad was very tasty also.

  • Brian T.

We had the red dragon, dynamite, sunshine, TNT, Maryland, and spicy tuna rolls. They were all very tasty and fresh. The only thing I was a bit disappointed with was the triple delight sashimi plate. For 24 bucks, I thought 3 small pcs of tuna, salmon, and yellow tail were too small. To me was a bit overpriced for a dinner that I considered to be an appetizer. Other than that, the rolls are on point.

I had a restaurant.com gift certificate, which is why I inevitably checked this place out. I do love a good local dive and this one just so happened to be located right off of Coastal Highway (94th street?). My initial reaction from looking at the place: "is that it's an old fast food building turned into a sushi restaurant?" Why, yes it is! I kind of enjoy the vintage fast-food building flair. Upon entering the building, I was pleasantly surprised. The way management has turned the decor from fast food dreary to Feng Shui cheery - was absolutely delightful. If you're still skeptical by the outside of the building, I promise that you'll be shell-shocked when you taste the food. I have been to this establishment in both the winter and summer months and the food never falters. The sushi is always fresh, the poo-poo platter is tasty and the Thai and Asian dishes provide such large portions. This place most definitely hits the spot, especially if you have a coupon deal. If you're in the mood for some decentn asian inspired food in OC, without an atrocious wait to get some grub - you should most definitely stop in for a bite to eat. Just don't expect to pick up your order at the drive-thru window :)

LOVE THIS PLACE! If you are looking for some yummy sushi or any kind of Asian cuisine, this place has it. If your party wants sushi, or Chinese, or Japanese, or Thai - you're covered. I can't remember which sushi rolls I ordered, but they were awesome - and all of the sushi coming out looked great. My dining companion got the chicken teriyaki. It was good, but not as good as the sushi. We also had the cheese wonton. They were slightly sweet and I'm not a huge fan of that, but they still had a good taste to them. A lot of their food coming out was very artistically presented - I really appreciated that. Don't judge this place by its cover (in a hollowed out fast food restaurant I assume.) Staff was SUPER friendly.

I must say this is one of the best asian restaurants I have ever been. I'm a sushi/sashimi fanatic, and they did not disappoint me. Japanese cuisine, along with their chinese food dishes, with added twists, it was very good! High five blue fish!

This meal was AMAZING!! We had the Tuna Madness roll and the Dragon roll.. They were both out of this world! We also had pork fried rice, gyoza, steamed dumplings and fried ice cream for dessert.. Everything was incredible. The Yuzu dipping sauce that came with the tuna roll was perfect! I highly recommend this restaurant!

Excellent food!! Hands down! If you like sushi, this is the place to go. Everything is fresh and you can really taste the quality of the food. I have had Toro from many sushi restaurants and nothing beats the Toro at Blue Fish. It's the best I have ever had! The fatty tuna was EXTRA fatty, delicious, and simply mouth watering. The uni was fresh and for anyone that knows good uni, definitely try this place and you'll want to go back for more. For those of you who don't fancy sushi, they also have a wide selection of Chinese and Thai food. I'm from New York City and I would drive down to Ocean City in a heartbeat for Blue Fish!

I really wanted to get some sushi while on vacation so after reading reviews on here my wife and I decided to make Blue Fish our first experience in Ocean City. We've driven past the place plenty of the times while in OC and it's exterior isn't exactly the most inviting. The building was formerly used by a fast food restaurant (I can't remember which but I think Wendy's) and has a very dated look. It even still has most of the drive-thru lane still intact. Once entering the building you are treated to a much more inviting experience. You can still see the remnants of the fast food interior but for the most part everything has been replaced with more modern furnishings including a full bar. The only negative I noticed, a really really small one, is that they do not offer cloth napkins. Just your regular ol' diner type utensils wrapped in a paper napkin. Not off-putting at all but seemed out of place in a restaurant with such a nice interior. We came in around 5:30 and were quickly welcomed and taken to our table. Our waitress was there within moments and very attentive and helpful. I could be mistaken but I believe she was a new hire and I think they found a good one. Our food was served quickly and if we needed anything she was quick to be of service. Finally, The Food. We ordered the Cream Cheese Wontons for an appetizer which were great. If you ask me they could be considered a dessert since besides cream cheese they're filled with a some type of sweet sauce. Plus you receive a sweet dipping sauce on the side. A horse radish (maybe wasabi) type sauce is also included if you are looking for a nice kick with your wontons. It's not the best tasting sauce on its own but when you dip the wonton into it it offers a nice sweet and spicy taste. For sushi (our main course) we ordered the Hawaiian, Out of Control with Tuna and Rainbow rolls. All of the rolls were presented well, especially the Hawaiian (it's listed as a "specialty") and everything tasted good and fulfilled my craving for some good sushi. Is it the absolute best I have ever had? No. But it tasted good and there was nothing bad about it. All of the ingredients tasted fresh and the rolls were constructed well. It just didn't go to that extra level that some sushi places can go to with their ingredients and presentation. I would recommend this place to friends and family who like sushi.

Sushi was fresh and delicious. We came on a Sunday and they had a special price on the regular rolls as well as some of the premium rolls. My boyfriend and I both ordered miso soup which was hot and very flavorful. Definitely try the M-16 and Super roll, they were fantastically yummy! We will be back anytime we are in OC and get the itch for sushi.

Sushi was great and our server was very attentive. However the menu should note that the spring rolls have shrimp in them. One member of on our party is allergic to shell fish and ordered them assuming they were vegetable spring rolls. Luckily he was okay.

Outstanding service beautiful and great tasting sushi. Very nice seating areas we will surely be back anytime we are in OC. Sushi lovers this is the joint!!

My friend Chris W and I shared an order of K2 (soft shell crabs with kani salad and tuna avocado salad) that we thought was very good. The breading reminded me of sweet and sour meats from a cheap Chinese restaurant, but the quality of the crab made up for it. My Mt-Fuji Roll (kani, avocado, cucumber inside, topped with oven baked shrimp, jumbo lump crab, fresh scallop and Japanese cheesy sauce baked on top) was a little salty, but good. Two of my friends ordered chicken teriyaki, which was okay. I tried the jumbo shrimp from a third friend's entrée and that was good. Perhaps the best part of the meal were the innovative drinks, such as the Blue Lagoon Fizz, and the decor, otherwise this is just an okay restaurant.

Delicious!! Sushi is high quality! Doesn't look so inviting from outside but the food is exceptional!

So the first night we stayed down there, we went to Blue Fish - an Asian fusion-like place that immediately put a bad taste into Mr. V's mouth, because it's an old fast food joint. They didn't even bother to remove the drive-thru window during the remodel. Don't judge a book by its cover? Ha. Judged. I narrowed the restaurants by using Yelp and Urban Spoon, and then sent my list to Mr. V, so he could take a look. A couple of things about this place: Mr. V didn't like it the more he thought about it And it's expensive for what it was. But, let me go into the food itself. We were given a little Spanish mackerel appetizer to clean the palate. A good start, though a little overpowering with the jalapeno seeds in the ponzu sauce, But it did the job of making my mouth "clean" The next was a lobster tempura with a spicy dipping sauce. Good. But not worth the $16 price tag. There was more tempura batter than lobster. Mr. V ordered a steak and scallop sauté. Which was good. The steak was juicy and tender. Notice a theme? "Good" Now, with the sashimi, I was pretty annoyed. Sashimi is thinly sliced beautiful fish This ish, while good and fresh, Was not sashimi. It was chunks of fresh fish on a *&^%ing plate Uni in front Bluefin tuna Striped bass Hamachi The next piece was toro. Toro is supposed to be light pink with thick white lines of fat, buttery So Blue Fish got the pink and buttery, But not the fatty Dessert was fried cheesecake. I mean, how can you go wrong? Yum.

Had a group of 14 with half being kids. Everything we ordered from Thai to Chinese to Japanese was excellent. Very tasty and very fresh. A great place in OC to mix things up a bit from the typical seafood restaurant.

Good sushi very fresh, prepared well. Excellent Chinese food, their take on general tso made with shrimp and scallops was scrumptious! Plus my waitress knew how to do a proper Sake Bomb!

I was truly in the mood for Sushi and decided to try this place out with my girlfriend last night. I checked it out on Yelp prior to going. I believe in giving very honest reviews, so here goes it :o) The outside does no justice for the inside of this establishment. Much nicer on the inside than what meets the eye on the outside. Very expansive menu as far as sushi goes, but not many Japanese or Thai dishes, in my opinion. I was mainly going for the sushi though, so that was not a huge deal to me. My girlfriend ordered cream cheese wontons for appetizer and chicken and broccoli for her meal. I ordered the spicy salmon sushi roll and the philadelphia roll (my fave yum!) for my appetizer, then the singapore noodles for my meal. I must say that the food portions were extremely large, which was great because you get your money's worth. The sushi was AMAZINGLY FRESH. So fresh that I would have thought they had literally just caught the fish themselves in the Ocean LOL. While this was not the best sushi I've ever had in my life, it was very good, very fresh, and tasty. Customer service is awesome...catering to our every need. Fast service, but then again, it was a Wednesday night.

This is an update, we went again, ordered the special roll of the day which was the Hawaiian Roll with Tempura Shrimp, Cream Cheese and covered in Mango slices and Toasted Coconut and a mango sauce. It was very good, light and refreshing. Also ordered the Double Dragon roll and we split one entree, the Chilean Seabass, which tasted ok, it was sliced as a thin steak, which I'd never seen done before with this fish and drenched in a basic sweet sauce that I could have done without. Probably the best sushi on the Island. (OC Wasabi is a "No Go" for us.)

If you like sushi and the kids like Chinese food this is a great place to go. My daughter ate 2 California rolls and my son ate one. He also had the chicken and broccoli which he shared with the baby boy they both loved it. I would come back next summer. My only complaint was that the green tea was not hot enough the first time around , the second time it was perfect. The sushi was on the money, we r from New York and know good sushi and this is the best in OC. The waiter that served was wonderful timed our order perfectly with the children's food. We had a peaceful meal and that's rare. Thanks dude!!!

Went to Ocean City for the first time and I'm glad we came to this treasure. The ambiance inside is great, very elegant. I really liked the nice seating area right by the entrance, seemed very relaxing. The service is great, very responsive and very fast. The food was AMAZING. We had a whole array of foods from the dinosaur eggs (deep fried avocado with some seafood stuffed inside), spider rolls, a sweet roll (don't remember its name), seared tuna, seafood soup and some chinese stir fry dishes. All the food was great. I went hungry and left entirely satisfied. I would definitely recommend this to anyone in the area and would totally go back!

First of all let me say that if i just drove by this place, I would probably not have stopped. As indicated by other folks, it is in a converted fast food restaurant. My wife Denise and I were a little apprehensive because of the Chinese, Sushi, and Thai combo restaurant but it really works. She had the Pad Thai and loved it and I had Sushi and a Japanese noodle soup. The inside atmosphere was great and the staff was attentive. Will go back again during our next visit to Ocean City.

The outside belies the inside. Upscale, bit pricey, sushi place is good! Will definitely be visiting again next time in OC, MD.

I ordered a dish that had a combo for 3 different spicy rolls (tuna, salmon, and yellowtail). I think it was good--it was buried in tempura flakes so it was hard to tell what I was eating! Either way you get a LOT of food with your order. You won't leave hungry.

  • Christi D.

My boyfriend and I stayed in OC MD for 4 nights and we ate here twice in that time. It was right across the st. from our hotel and although its an old fast food place the inside is decorated so nicely!! The rolls were all so good and I think the ones we liked best were the christmas roll and the sweet potato roll -- but you really can't go wrong with any roll here. Service was exceptional and the wait time for your food was pretty average. I cannot wait for my next trip to OC because this is the first place we are stopping!

I had their Sunset sushi, hot and sour soup, and shrimp+scallop delight. It was all really good. Definitely worth going to. Update February 2013 - Did more sushi and this time also had crispy beef. Was all good still! Definitely a return customer. My friends liked their food as well and one left his scarf and they mailed it to him at no charge. Nice!

We came here for a late dinner on a Friday night and were seated immediately. We got 3 rolls, pad thai and a stir fry with crispy noodles (can't remember the dish name). The rolls were pretty good but the pad thai and stir fry were really salty. The pad thai was also really saucy which I was not used to. I would only getting the sushi rolls here.

Ok first off don't judge a book by its cover, when my husband suggested trying it I was a little concerned, but the sushi was really good. The price was reasonable the food was fresh.

Pro: without question the BEST SUSHI we've ever had. We only wish we lived closer to this restaurant. There was a wide variety of sushi, with creative, mind-blowing flavor combinations. We could not stop ordering new rolls. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and fun. The sushi was as beautifully made as it was delicious. The rolls were large and filling, and the prices were fair for the quality and portions. The ingredients tasted so fresh I wouldn't be surprised if the fish were caught that morning! From the outside, you can tell it used to be a Burger King, but the inside has been transformed and remodeled into a Japanese sushi treasure Cons: NONE Recommendations: YES! GO HERE! Make your way to Ocean City just for this sushi; if you are in the area don't deprive yourself of this incredible food! We highly recommend the Alec roll, the Pink Lady, the Christmas Roll and the Lover's Roll. You wont' regret dining here.

I've been coming to Ocean City for years, and decided to go for sushi for a change. I found Blue Fish intriguing, particularly since the building used to be a McDonalds. Anyway, Blue Fish is more of a pan-Asian restaurant than Japanese, as they serve Japanese, Thai, and Chinese, three very different cuisines. i like Japanese as I'm a diet-controlled diabetic, and Japanese is one of the better dining options for me to maintain my numbers. We started out with the tempura appetizer; it was beautifully put together, and nice and lightly battered. There were 3 shrimp, so we had a battle over the last one (I lost). My wife had the miso soup, which she quite enjoyed, describing it as slightly smokey flavored. I had scallop sushi, which was very fresh and again, beautifully prepared. The wasabi was over the top hot; great stuff. Generally, when you want Peking duck, you have to call ahead, which wasn't the case here. The dusk came with slivered cucumber, spring onion, and some other veggies. The skin was nicely crisped, and the meat, nice and ducky taxing very moist and not the least bit greasy as Peking duck often is. The wife had a sushi combo consisting of salmon, tuna and yellow fin. She declared it quite flavorful. The presentation was very good, you could tell the chef put a lot of thought into plating, and service was top notch. The waitstaff was attentive without being verily intrusive, and quite knowledgable about the dishes. The decor was pleasant, you could still see the bones of a McDonalds, but they had done a good job of transforming it. The prices were quite reasonable, and their full menus are available online. This will be on my regular dining list on future Ocean City trips.

We got into ocean city later than we expected because of traffic and were concerned we wouldn't find a great place to eat off season. Luckily we found Blue Fish and it was great! We had the shrimp sushi and vegetable tempura sushi, crispy beef and vegetable fried rice and everything was awesome! We had leftovers which kept really well the next day. The fried rice wasn't greasy at all and the vegetables were really fresh. I would definitely go back!

I love Blue Fish! My daughter (7) loves blue fish. Their sushi is fresh and delightful to see...even better to enjoy! Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We had the B52 roll, dinosaur eggs, spider roll, and california roll. Scrumptious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Warm Sake is very good!

Me and hubs took seats at the sushi bar other wise there was a wait. Pretty packed on Friday night so make reservations if your coming with a few peeps. Browsed through yelp pics and reviews before coming. Sushi here is definitely solid. Really well crafted rolls. The tuna dumplings and Godzilla roll were not on the menu but i ordered successfully via yelp pics and boy were they good! Everything we ordered was flat out delicious. The tuna dumpling has a kick of wasabi with the buttery flavor of avocado and tuna - great combo. The sushi and special rolls were fresh and scrumptious. Aside from Godzilla roll we also ordered the Kirin roll which had crab tempura inside and tuna/eel/avocado outside .. This was excellent. I could have kept eating more and more sushi rolls. Service was pretty quick and friendly for such busyness too which was a plus. The mochi ice cream was a definite fail and they didn't charge me for that. Oh well. The sushi was so good and i was happy with the service so I would definitely go back.

Place was good. Decor was inviting and staff friendly. But if u come hungry, or if u are some who likes to eat, this place isn't for u because it'll leave u broke with the amount of food ur gonna hafta order. Lets start with mine and my family's order. No apps. Sorry, I can't review on that. But after eating our main course I'm glad I didn't order apps cause I would've felt really ripped off. We had the lo mein, an order of Cali rolls and 2 specialties rolls. Now lets be clear: the food was good. But for 18 dollars a pop for skimpy specialties rolls, one might feel cheated out of their money. I know I sure was. Even my sons Cali roll that was priced at 7 bux was over priced as well. I believe he had only four baby pieces or so. Needless to say, I had to order another roll for the kid. The lo mein was fairly priced, but as for my girl and I, we didn't want to order more skimpy food at such a high price. Now I've been to other great sushi joints and never left feeling cheated outta my money, because the rolls and portions are generous. This place made us feel cheated. I gave it 4 stars because the food wasnt bad at all. (Wouldve given it 3.5 stars, but i dont know how to give out half stars yet) Actually, it's was very good, but not 20 bux for baby rolls good. I expect to pay that in the city some where, not at a family vacation spot in the OC in a supermarket parking lot. Overall, would I go back? Uhh... Yeah. With caution though. I wouldn't order the sushi because how over priced it is. But from what I saw from other ppl who ordered none sushi items, food looked great and appropriately priced.

If you are in the mood for fresh Sushi and Chinese food, then this will more than suit your taste. I highly recommend the "Mt. Fuji" roll, so delicious. We were a family of ten and ordered everything from Spring rolls, Beef Lo Mein, Shrimp Lo Mein, Happy Family, Triple Delight, General Tso Shrimp & Scallops, Seafood Delight, to Chicken Pad Tai... Everything tastes fresh and authentic! Out waitress was the best, her name is Lucy.

My family and I got over-priced takeout here on a recommendation ... Big mistake. The food smelled like feet, they used dark meat for there chicken dishes, and the wonton was all noodle. Skip this when you're in town

  • Nick B.

First, the food is pretty good...but it is more expensive than other places we have been. We ate there and the service was good. However, they will charge you for everything...extra rice is $2 each for a small bowl! Then we got our check and the tip (18%) was already added on to the bill! So, sushi was good but small portions and way overpriced. The Chinese was good but again overpriced for the quality. For Chinese we like Asian Garden better. Would we go back? Maybe if we were in the area but probably will not seek it out again.

For Chinese cuisine and sushi in OC this place was pretty good. I have pretty high expectations when it comes to sushi, so I was a bit reluctant to try here. I was pleasantly surprised at how fresh all of the dishes were. We ordered the hot and sour soup, steamed dumplings, shrimp tempura roll, spicy tuna roll and Kung pao chicken. Overall great dishes however, I prefer my soup served a little warmer (temperature wise), same with the steamed dumplings. Both the soup and dumplings were good, they just needed to be served a little warmer for my liking. All of the waitstaff were very friendly and eager to assist with your order as well as the clearing of used plates from the table. I'd go back again when in the mood for sushi and Chinese food in OC. Prices were reasonable and the decor was tasteful.

Yelp came to the rescue on a rare trip to ocean city. So many bland American crap food restaurants and I was craving something else. Found blue fish on yelp and they sushi is realty fresh. Great but not superb. I highly recommend the Alec roll and the Hawaiian roll.

Great chinese food. I had the string beans and beef and it was very good. The hot and sour soup was as well. Prices are reasonable also!

We went to this restaurant because it was in walking distance from the condo we were staying. Now my husband is VERY picky about his sushi. So we weren't sure about trying a newer place. But we were very happy after eating here. We all got appetizers mostly soups and salads. My Hot and Sour soup was good but not as good as others i've had. The sushi was fresh and tasty. We got a sunshine roll, crazy roll, vegetable tempura, and my husband got salmon and yellowtail rolls. Everything was very good!! I got the Leche Martini and it was sweet but very good. I think this place will be our favorite new sushi place to visit when we are in OC.

Had dinner here tonight, our first night in OC, and I was impressed. The waitress was very knowledgable about the menu items. We started with the cheese wontons, which were served with duck sauce and were really tasty. Not too greasy at all. We then had the Hawaiian roll, which was a special and had coconut shrimp, mango, avocado and a special cream sauce on top, definitely tasty. We then had a Philly roll, TNT roll, spider and M-16. All the rolls were uniquely flavored and the fish was very fresh. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere relaxing. Will definitely return.

Pretty good sushi for OC. Me and my fiance was driving around looking for a pretty nice restaurant around OC that didn't involve more fries and sandwiches. So I saw Blue Fish and we decided to go here for dinner. Surprisingly, this place was pretty packed with families and couples. The wait was around 20 min and some people were actually taking carry out cause they didn't wanted to wait. The restaurant looks better inside. We ordered the green money roll, the angel foll, the double delight roll, and tuna dumplings. The Angel roll was the best, the other rolls could use more sauce on them to add more flavor. The tuna dumpling is a must try if you love dumplings, its raw tuna made to look like a dumpling filled with avocado and wasabi. We will come back to this place again for dinner when were in OC. But its a great place for date night in OC.

Excellent sushi to rival any major city sushi bar. Had the Rainbow roll, Alaska roll, avocado roll any fresher and they would be swimming. Kids had Chinese food lo mien, wonton soup, chicken - light and tasty. Take a break from the crabs and go blue.

Went to Blue Fish last night based on a Yelp search prior to coming to OC. WE found this restaurant very solid in deed. The service was excellent and the food was very good. The family split 4 items: 2 Sushi--The Alec Roll and the Red Stone Roll---both were very good. We also had 2 other entrees--General Tso's Chicken which was very good and the shrimp Pad Tai which was good as well. We would return and would recommend for you to give it a try.

I had the absolute BEST sushi I've ever had here and I highly recommend coming here! The service was great despite having to wait 15 minutes for a table (was told a 30 minute wait). The place is a little small as it used to be a fast food restaurant, so I recommend getting there early if you don't want to wait. Like I said though, they were pretty quick in getting us a table and serving us quickly! All six of us got different dishes ranging from Happy Family to sushi and all of them were really good! I highly recommend trying some of the special sushi rolls they have. The TNT roll was my absolute favorite with scallops, fish, and the chef's special cheese sauce. The drinks were also great. Some of us got this plum sparkling fruit wine which was delicious! I would come back here in a heartbeat!

We came here due to the good review on Yelp. The service was a bit slow but the Sashimi and Sushi were fresh. We wanted to try the Toro but it was too expensive 16.95 for 2 pcs, so we started with Sashimi appetizer to see if it is fresh. We then ordered Sashimi Deluxe and it was good and fresh, however it is a big turnoff to me when they used Talipia too instead of the real Snapper. We also ordered rolls, Shrimp Fried Rice and soup and they were all acceptable. We will come back next time when we visit!

Finding our local sushi place had closed, we sought out Blue Fish and were pleasantly surprised! Our waiter was really friendly and attentive even though they were quite busy--ask for Alec. If he's not available to serve your table, be sure to order the sushi roll named after him! It is delicious! We'll definitely go back!

  • Lisa O.

We gave the Blue Fish stars because it is truly as good as it gets for Chinese food and sushi in Ocean City! Our family really enjoyed the dinasaur egg appetizer and the red stone roll! We've been here several times and have loved every meal from won ton soup, pork fried rice, dumplings, sushi rolls, and chicken chow mein. The crispy beef was delicious the first time but a little bit soggy this last time. We want to try the tuna dumplings next time we go!

    (5)
  • Stu E.

Third or fourth time we've been here. From the outside you'd never expect this tasteful interior. But it's the food that makes the place standout. Just amazing- we had a soft shell crap appetizer that was killer....and a tuna dumpling that was amazing as well. Particularly quirky is the showing of the specials on the waitres' cell phone...very sweet really. Enjoy and be prepared to be surprised!

Best thing I ever ate: tuna dumplings. Hammered ahi filled with a wasabi avacado crab purée. UNBELIEVABLE!! Rolls are reasonably priced and aren't too big for your mouth. Fish was so fresh it could have been swimming!

Sushi was decent. Pad Thai was kind of nasty, watery with very little taste. Miso soup was very good.

  • Jimmy C.

Absolutely incredible service, the wait staff was very attentive and all seemed to have a positive attitude. Food was very good with a number of great choices. The only downside to the experience was the noise level of the dinning room. The building is a converted McDonalds with hard floors which seemed to reflect a lot of the sound. Regardless we will return.

BEST Oriental restaurant in OC! The tuna dumplings, miso soup, red snapper and mackerel sushi were all great. The snapper and mackerel were still moving! Very fresh seafood. My partner had the combination lo mein, since he's a big eater. Huge serving with tons of veggies made him leave my egg rolls alone (for a change:) Our waitress Deanna was a delight and very attentive but not overwhelming. Great food great staff great time.

  • Sharon M.

Not as tasty sushi as I had hoped! If you want good sushi go to OC Wasabi. The pad Thai was really yummy but not worth the disappointment from everything else we ordered (sushi and chicken curry). Service was also sub-par, asked our server about a few of the sushi dishes and she had no idea how to explain them and it wasn't because of any language barriers. Atmosphere was nice, I wish this restaurant was better. We won't be going back.
